“Blood makes you related, loyalty makes you family.”
“Every day, we fight a battle to make the right decisions. Some days, those decisions weigh heavier on our future than the others.”
The author does an amazing job of making the characters come to life and you feel connected to them in an emotional way. Traitor is epic and refreshing, managing a perfect balance between intrigue, action and humour throughout the narrative. “Spiritus non possunt occidere nostri. “Can’t kill our spirit.” I can clearly see a movie or tv series, the story description is so well written I could imagine all the scenes, the battles, the emotional scenes, the reflective moments of the moral aspect in every human being’s life.. it would make a fantastic show. I’m impatient to read Parabellum #11!

Traitor: Forsaken Mercenary Book 10 - a review by Rosemary Kenny

Hero of Mars Daniel Hunt's in at the deep end again, along with Butch, (his faithful wolf) and sidekick and firm friend, (the quirkily-named) Preacher, standing strong beside him and the other Praetorians.

Weapons-wise, the bold, enhanced-human, Praetorian leader now possesses a powerful ancient, (He-Man-like) Sword - that has a deadly effect on those who wield it - plus, his (sometimes sarcastic), AI advisor, Alerna, (aka Al), who packs a mean 'techno-punch' along with her verbal attacks.

In Traitor, Jonathan Yanez' 10th brilliant Forsaken Mercenary series novel, we learn of the mysterious, malevolent enemy that threatens both the Chancellor, (inexplicably struck down and now in a coma) Daniel, Preacher and their other comrades in arms, the whole of humanity and from thence to infinity and beyond.

It trades on the greed and egotism of a 'would-be-king', (the eponymous traitor, who wants more power than he has already) and a self-deluded, reclusive messianic cult leader, who sees himself as future ruler of Earth and who currently controls the legions of the zombie-like results, of what could be a mutated Covid-19 virus, so quickly does it spread with deadly effect..

An alarmingly realistic, yet fabulously entertaining military space opera, that posits a 'what if...? terrifying potential Apocalyptic scenario, which is as close to home under the present global Lockdown, as it's an out-of-this-world, outer space, rip-roaring quest for an(other) ancient artefact, bound together with a sense of camaraderie, loyalty and heroism and above all, a mission to save our world from its infected, indoctrinated, destructive inhabitants - mankind.

A highly-recomnended mix of Shaun of the Dead, Mad Max, Star Wars, Fifth Element, plus Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade; let Traitor: A Near Future Thriller (Forsaken Mercenary Book 10), by the outstanding Jonathan Yanez, take you far away with a fantasy you won't forget any time soon.

Dang what a bunch of treason weasles

Just like our present illegitimate criminal administration, it's like looking in a mirror.
Scary stuff. I feel real bad for preacher, but since he has stabilized, sort of,or at least not changed, and the ladies have joined them, plus having Andrew and Al, I think they have a chance, a good one. I'm hoping Cassie gets squared away soon, they're gonna need her. Maybe they need to put the homestead back in space and keep mobile now, with such a corrupt greedy government, I wouldn't put it past them to murder everyone on the property, all the wolves and destroy it just for malice.

Best yet. Daniel Hunt keeps taking the hits

Daniel, Preacher, Butch, and Al are all well above their pay grade in intensity and purpose. Seems there is no rest or peace to be gained and yet that is the quest. So many new enemies and allies. Looking forward to the next adventure.

Outstanding series. Never a dull moment within the books, you’re either holding your breath in anticipation for what’s happening (or about to happen), or you’re laughing at some crazy stunt Daniel Hunt does or is about to do. Needless to say, this entire series is definitely worth ready, you won’t regret it.

What's there to say when you read the 10th book in a series that is simply fantastic. Daniel and his friends face immortals, alien monsters and a traitor amongst the people of earth. And the stakes are higher than ever. And we thought they couldn't be....Only two more to go.

Good read

Yes! Another exciting book in the series that is expanding subplots yet pulling others together! The proverbial Pandoras Box has been opened and the battle for mankind is being tested. Can’t wait for Jonathan’s next book in the series!

Aliens, monsters and human greed

Intergalactic war on a massive scale. Just a science experiment trying to do the right thing and getting into trouble no matter where he goes.
Great characters with realistic situations and lots of action
I look forward to the next one 😀

More of almost everything!

Daniel is in trouble again. He has grown as a person, gaining strength and empathy. I love who he’s becoming. This series is so very addictive with characterisations and battles that are incredibly imaginative. I applaud this author!

Holy crip Batman!

The most exciting yet terrifyingly suspenseful Forsaken Mercenary book yet! A new threat has fully emerged and Daniel can't trust anyone! Can the obliteration of the human race as we know it be stopped?

On no a Cliffhanger

This is another good action tale although it does look increasingly dire for Daniel and his team and a hell of a cliffhanger.

TRAITOR! Could this be it?

Soooo many twists in this one but all too good to put down! Did not see some of it coming. New friends with some pretty impressive "toys" join the Pack for some real brutal battles!

Daniel and his team have to band together to pull out all the stops and overcome two new threats. How? How did this all go so horribly wrong so fast! Isn't Daniel the "Hero of Mars"? Read the next installment to find out with me! Parabellum coming up next.
