- DON’T LIE TO ME: When twelve-year-old Sophie Williams went on a Girl Scout summer camp, she never returned home. Three months later, her body is found inside her sleeping bag in the most frequented area of Cocoa Beach, and the town is outraged.
The girl isn't just any child. She's the town's most beloved surf idol, and it was believed that she could be the next Kelly Slater.
As another child, the son of a well-known senator is kidnapped, and the parents receive a disturbing video, FBI profiler Eva Rae Thomas — who has just returned to her hometown, divorced and out of a job — plunges into the investigation, breaking her promise to her children not to do police work again.
Local law enforcement, with her old flame Matt Miller in charge, are the ones who ask for her help in a case so unsettling that only she can solve it. But the deeper they dig, the deadlier it becomes for Matt and Eva Rae. Soon, everyone she holds dear is in grave danger as this case hits a little too close to home.

Book 1 – Don’t Lie to Me; Book 2 – Look What You Did
Girl goes to summer camp, doesn’t come home. Three months later, her dismembered body is found in a sleeping bag on the town’s main drive. Soon more young people die. Eva Rae Thomas, divorced FBI profiler, gets drawn into the case after promising her children she wasn’t going to do police work anymore.
Book 2 – Look What You Did
Three girls disappear on prom night at the local high school. One of them is the prom queen. They were last seen walking home together after the dance. When the body of a young girl shows up in her backyard, Eva Rae realizes not only is she involved in this investigation, she’s also this killer’s target.
I found these two books irritating, yet I felt compelled to finish them.
Minuses: Hard-bitten male FBI agents seem to cry, bite their lips, puke, hold their fists to their mouth, and their voices go shrill way more than one would expect of hard-bitten FBI agents. Author overuses “till” (I was always taught “till” meant cash register and “’til” was a contraction of “until,” but Merriam Webster says “till” is entirely correct. I don’t care, it still seems wrong to me.) As far as Eva Rae being an FBI profiler, it felf like the author ran her finger down a list of characters and stopped at “FBI profiler” and did no further research. Characters felt one-dimensional
Pluses: Intriguing, topical plots (crazed but brilliantly diabolical killers, sex trafficking, guilt, family problems, disapproving parents), and a twist ending in the first book that made my head spin.
Overriding emotion – irritation that I spent time reading these when I could have read something more enjoyable. Two somethings more enjoyable. Book 2 ended on a cliff-hanger, and I’m annoyed enough that I’m going to leave that poor girl in jeopardy and not give her another thought.
I have read some of the authors other series, and liked those, but this one left me flat.
I loved having book one and two in one. The flow was excellent plus the storyline was smooth. Some characters you will love while others not so much. Take a chance and check out this amazing series and author. I highly recommend this book.
A plot so unbelievable that it is boring. While not predictable, the events are so unrelated and pulled together by a book. Creativity is overshadowed by coincidences too contrived to hold a readers attention.
The story was very interesting and held my interest. However, I am not happy with tales that have incomplete endings. This seems to be the case with many authors who write multiple books (e.g. books 1 thru 8.) In the future I shall try to avoid books that run in series.
Don’t Lie To Me..#1 Her stories are always packed with many cases. She brings you suspects, false information, then manages to tie it all together, to one person. They can be confusing at the different chapters of where and who they are. Her stories are different, and a no stopping is allowed when one starts.
What You Did # 2 Once again we are caught up with the happiness and the low of teen age girls. An innocence walk home for these three a few blocks after the prom and now gone. Two weeks and still missing, what happened before the prom. A sister when she was seven, taken by her father, and them leaving the country, A man Sydney thought was her father wasn’t, and now a known killer. Writing about had given her a contract, and helping her mother and her to cope. She was now a retired FBI profiler, the pieces fit not 1but all of them, they seem to fit cases she had worked on. The extent that a person goes to for revenge, and it’s not over yet. It is a gripping plot once again by the author.
I have so many problems with this book. Three teenage girls vanish while walking home from the prom. Really? What girl would walk home from the prom? I don’t know how things are done in a Florida but that would not happen in any situation that I am aware of. The following murders and assaults have something to do with the investigator, Eva Rae Thomas. One of the twists in the story revolves around a name change. Who changes their name immediately following a divorce when their are 3 kids involved. How can the killer get into a house to hide a body in a hollowed out mattress? A house in which 2 adults and 3 kids are living? The main character is hospitalized following a boat crash and then again when a body she is carrying explodes. And yet she slips out of the hospital. Minutes later she is hit in the face with a shovel and yet she still manages to incapacitate the killer. And the ending? Really? A major cliffhanger but after this mess I am not sure I care.

Book 1 - Don't Lie to Me - case: Murder of Children - Sophie William was a rising star in the surfing circuit. Her mother want her to have a normal life so she make her go on a Girl Scott camping trip. She disappeared and 3 months later FBI Profile Eva Rae Thomas found her body. Can she find the killer who is kill children if Cocoa Breach. If you are a Eve Dallas fan you will love this series. Book 2 -What You Did? - Case Copycat. Someone is copying old case that Eva Rae has solved. Can she find the copycat before more people die?
Well written storyline with many twists and turns. Eva Rae is an ex FBI profiler who returns to her childhood home town with her three children in tow after divorcing her adulterous husband who had been the sole day to day child carer and homemaker while she was consumed by her career. In her new role as a single mother of three she is drawn into a missing child case and so it goes thru book one and book two with horrendous crimes against children.
The over all story was good, but too much jumping around. If I read it again, I will skip chapters to get a handle on what's happening, and who the characters are, then go back and read the "investigation" chapters. Also, the ending was left hanging, and the way to get closure on the complete story is to purchase the next volume. My attention span doesn't last that long. It did have lots of twists and turns, but lost me too often.
This is a great beginning to the series. Wow you stay glued to the edge of your seat in suspense through both stories. Once I started reading I just couldn't stop until I had finished both books and wanted to find the next one to start on it right away. I can't wait to get in to the 3rd book in the series. And look forward to reading more from this author in this series.
Books enjoyable. I find the protagonist a bit predictable. But still story still ok. I listen to the books while doing chores not sure I would like them as much if I was reading them.
Always enjoy books by Willow Rose. They are sometimes thrilling, often entertaining, as well as introducing interesting characters and she always leaves the reader wanting to read more of their adventures.
Teenage girls are kidnapped, raped murdered or mutilated. Former FBI. agent/profiler must save them. Deranged men do things that most of us can not even imagine.
These were great mystery stories with lots of twists and turns. Hard to unravel the story too soon. My biggest disappointment was that the second book ended with unresolvehaved important issues and you have to buy the next book to find out what happens. The was upsetting!

Both of these books are very well written and interesting. Glad characters are well described, as are the scenes. Even though you are left hanging at the end of the second book, I look forward to the next.
Willa Rose never disappoints! The Eva Rae series is another example of page turning excitement and entertainment. After moving back to Florida to be close to family and enjoy her children things really heat up in her life.
Really had me stumped on this one. That’s the way I like reading a good book. Keep me guessing. Truly a great storyline and great surprise ending. Can’t wait to read the next one.
I read these as individual books but reviewing the box set now
I read both of these as individual books but wanted to review the box set. Both of these books are good. I both books that have ending unforseen until the last pages but Book 2 is slightly better than Book 1. So, if you don't like the first one, give the series a second chance and continue reading. I've posted reviews on each of these separately. I am currently reading Book 3. The series keeps getting better.
I gave these two books a five star rating they keep you enthralled to the end. This author is a great writer I have other books of hers and have enjoyed everyone of them
