Someone is breaking through the cyber security system tech billionaire, Lance Moss built from the ground up and he's running out of time to plug the holes before Club Solitaire is forced to close and someone gets hurt.
Reluctantly, he allows his fellow board member and friend, Eli, to bring in an outsider to help. He's not expecting to see his ex-girlfriend turned enemy walk through the door. She's still the hottest woman he's ever met.
Marissa Sullivan has been offered the job of a lifetime working on a top tier cyber security system. The job was too good to pass up and she said yes without a second thought.
When she walks into her first meeting to see Lance sitting there ready to work, she turns and walks out. Lance Moss ruined her life and there is no way she's working with him.
But Eli begs her to stay and sweetens the deal with a bonus she can't turn down. She vows to put aside her hatred to do the job, but then she’s gone.
Lance hasn't changed and unfortunately, neither has her intense attraction to him. Glimpsing his dominant side makes her wonder what could have been. Those questions are intensified when she agrees to become a member of the elite BDSM club, so her presence there isn’t questionable.
As they race to save the club that has become a second home to so many, they must decide if setting aside their differences to pursue their attraction is worth it or if they’ll go their separate ways when the job is done.
Ivy Nelson writes delicious contemporary romance with kinky alpha heroes and sassy heroines you wish could be your best friend. Club Solitaire is her favorite fictional place to hang out in, and she spends most of her free time spinning tales set there. Ivy currently lives in Las Vegas with her husband of five years and their son. When she isn’t writing, she’s probably reading something dirty or drinking wine with her readers on Facebook in the Ivy's Diamond Divas reader group
This is one of those reviews where I ask people to take into account this is a personal opinion on the book and not on the person writing it (even if it may seem so).
Appalling. There’s not much else I can say at the moment. I DNFed at 53% so I think I can say with certainty that this book is an appalling mess. I read here on GR that Pressure had a strong heroine and a decent “world building” (the reviewer even said that the techsplaining was correct…). Well, here comes the time when I strongly realise that yes people we are all different…There’s no hint of a strong heroine, there’s not even a whiff of her. Both the tech and the media “worlds” were totally wrong (or mostly wrong or if you prefer totally unbelievable). We have a strong backstory that is totally obliterated by the author’s hand. He sent her to prison on false charges. Even if she wasn’t indicted do you know the damage to one’s life this cause? Here they are hinted but not really talked about. Yes she says she had problems finding a job and that her reputation has been damaged. You never really see the damage (the poor guy was justified, after he realised his mistake he “tried” to help. I wonder how.. as it conveniently was never explained). If you are indicted for a crime you need a criminal lawyer, do you have an idea how much money defence attorneys cost? But hey in a couple of days they were going at it like bunnies with only a token word here and there on their past. And talking about bunnies… I’m tempted to give this book the bad sex award.
The rest was as messy, characterisation was atrocious. Rather than two professionals in their 30s you got 2 teenagers (or NA). Plot was as tight as a fishnet or a Swiss cheese if you prefer. The book wasn’t stand alone. So read at you own risk.
Lance and Marissa are forced to work together after 5 years of being apart. Lance accused Marissa of something she didn't do in the past, and present. Trust no longer exists between them, but they still love one another, and can not stay away from one another.
I received a copy of the book from the author via bookfunnel, and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Former lovers/co-workers Lance and Marissa meet five years after he mistakenly had her arrested for corporate espionage. Now back in his life when Solitaire's board members hire her to find out who is hacking into their computer security system, Marissa finds that she's still attracted to him despite her hurt over his lack of trust in her all those years ago. As the two computer coders extraodinaire work together to neutralize the threat, can they rekindle the romantic side of their relationship?
I've now read all the entries in this series except for the prequel and Patrick's story, so this review is also for Blood: A Diamond Doms Novel and Bling: A Diamond Doms Novel. The books feature the wealthy, well-connected doms of Solitaire (the kind of fantasy BDSM club common to this genre) and the subs they fall in love with -- all while dealing with the threat posed by a criminal mastermind who appears in every book. Because of this and the fact that characters from the series appear throughout, I believe these books are best read in order.
I would say that if you like reading about consensual BDSM practices between fairly likeable, intelligent adults underpinned by intrigue and mystery, you may enjoy this. I appreciated that the women were all strong professionals whose submission did not make them "weak" and that they were all friends since so many generic books divide them. In addition, the dialogue in general sounded natural; the world-building was decent (the author obviously did her homework on hacking, for example); and I detected few glaring editing or grammatical errors.
That said, although Ms. Nelson presents us with interesting couples in every book, their burgeoning relationships are overwhelmed by over-stuffed plots that frequently stretch credibility. While the author tries to give us fully realized romances that include both BDSM play and emotional connections, both are frequently sacrificed to redundant plot points that add nothing to the story: in this case, for example, I would have traded yet another Chicago-to-Colorado plane trip for the BDSM scene Marissa and Lance engage in towards the end, which is completely glossed over. In addition, the author gives us too much detail in some cases (the trips) and not enough in others (even after reading three books, I can't tell you what this club actually looks like). Finally, the highest points of tension in each book -- all of which place the h in danger -- are abrupt, only cursorily described, and resolved too quickly and neatly; and it's never fully explained exactly what this criminal mastermind's endgame is (at least not thus far).
A few thoughts on individual stories:
1) Blood: A Diamond Doms Novel: This was the weakest story that I read. Holly seemed very young to me; the too-detailed renditions of corporate life caused me to skim many parts; Elijah never fully makes up for one particularly bone-headed move towards the end; and I didn't appreciate the trick that he plays on her when she does something without telling him: if I were her, I wouldn't have trusted him again.
2) Bling: A Diamond Doms Novel: I couldn't get past a bunch of wealthy white male a*hole doms punishing a working-class Latina sub when she confronts the businessman who laid off members of her family at the club. Not only did this classism ruin the rest of the book for me, but once any dom places lifestyle practices over the mental, emotional, and physical health of the sub, I'm out.
3) Pressure: A Diamond Doms Novel: I liked this one the most because of Marissa who, unlike the other subs, actually displayed a backbone and didn't let the H walk all over her. While I know many readers enjoy the second-chance romance trope, personally, I thought that what Lance did to her was so devastating, in her place I never would have forgiven him. In addition, their refusal to actually talk to each other was frustrating after a while. I did appreciate, though, that the author doesn't offer BDSM as a miracle cure and the the couple does need to work on all areas of their relationship in order to move forward.
3 1/2 stars which I'm raising to 4 for Marissa's commitment to diversifying the tech industry. I encourage this author to streamline her stories: sometimes "more" is "too much." Note: I did appreciate this author's disclaimer on fantasy BDSM and I wish more would include one.
I've given two 5 🌟 and one 4 🌟 reviews to the first 3 books. I might would even go with 2.5 stars here.
What I did like, we're still seeing the full cast of characters from all the previous books. All of these people very obviously care for one another. I like all of the characters except for Marisa and she's a mixed bag.
What I don't like about the series as a whole is there are so many glaringly obvious things the characters are too dense to see or to have put measures in place to prevent. For instance, this book is the first book where they have security cameras on the property at Solitaire. And even with that, they just have them outdoors at the cabins. IRL, Russell and Lance would both have insisted on cameras everywhere except maybe in the dungeon. Certainly a camera on the main gate and I would think around the entire periphery of the property. They would definitely have cameras on the servers as well.
Additional examples are that they believe no one has figured out where Solitaire is even after they catch someone in the bushes outside the gate snapping photos. It is in a small town in Colorado and people do know that. They even know the hotel is associated to it. Obviously, by now someone would have been followed. Even if not in the traditional sense, there is plenty of technology to track a car, including drones and magnetic trackers. They have never swept for bugs - even in the first book when they knew Holly was being monitored by her father and his flunkies. Someone easily could have planted a bug on any of the board members and recorded all of a board meeting or more.
Speaking of servers, the amount of data they would have for Solitaire would fit on my laptop. There is no way they would need multiple machines except for back up. There is just so much wrong with the lack of tech savvy, it isn't even funny.
As for this book, Marissa starts out as a total witch. She is very rude to Isabelle and never apologizes. She is sure she is a girl that considers herself a princess and Lance doesn't ever get in her face about it. He never corrects her assumptions. We all know Isabelle, if you read her book, would be highly offended. It isn't just Isabelle but she is at least neutral to most of the other women. Marissa is horribly insecure. What Lance did to her was awful but she never fought for herself. And if she was making less than $100k a year, there is no way she is as good as they say she is. And since we see her doing well, it makes no sense that she wouldn't have been writing apps on the side of her day job. For that matter, while at her day job because there is no way that would have kept her busy 40 hours a week.
Lance is fine. While he did make a mistake 5 years earlier, I don't fault any of his behavior in this book. Well, other than one time when he really should have told Marissa why he couldn't stay right that minute.
My biggest problem with this book is it is boring. They run back and forth between Solitaire and his office in Chicago putting out literal and figurative fires at each location. It's like a ping pong match.
The steamy times in the book are just as boring. The second book was perfect in the balance between story and BDSM. The very few BDSM elements in this book are uninteresting/too short. They have vanilla sex several times but that's pretty bland and short, too. For the amount of time they spend at the club, they don't spend much in the dungeon. In fact, there are probably less than 5 pages total there throughout the entire book. If I am reading a book about a sex club, I'm expecting a decent amount of time to be spent there for the purpose it exists.
I am also tired of women giggling. Not all women giggle and it makes them seem like less. At the very beginning of the book, something is said and her thought is she is used to corporate America and this is different and then she giggles. That totally undermined her point. Women in corporate America don't get anywhere legitimately by giggling. I think the author is a feminist, which is great, so why can't her women laugh?
I'm frustrated that they haven't caught on that they are all going to be attacked and don't beef up security around the remaining board members. Or at least look to see if there is any possible link between Nicholas Sutton and each board member. Why aren't they proactive? There could still be a story but at least they would be the intelligent people they would have to be to get where they are in life.
I will keep reading but hope when all is said and done things are wrapped up neater than they have in the last two books.
Someone is breaking through the cyber security system that Lance built from the ground up and Eli, suggests they get some help from an outsider. Lance never expected it to be his ex. When they see each other the hate and the intense attraction are both still there. Sparks are flying between them but when the job is over will Marissa choose to stay or go? Fast-paced, action packed read with loads of drama, chemistry and steam. Entertaining and fast-paced read. I loved it!
Another hot and steamy Diamond Doms story. The author brings Lance and Marissa back working together after five years apart. She takes them on an emotional and suspense filled journey as they try to solve both the security breach and their undeniable chemistry. It's an intriguing drama filled story with well developed characters, moves fluidly and is an entertaining read.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
I hadn’t read this author before, so when the chance to read an arc of this book popped up, I grabbed it. I really enjoyed it and actually went back and grabbed books 1 and 3 (this is book 4) to read as well. You definitely don’t need to have read the others to follow along on this book, it’s a true stand alone, however there’s a subplot that moves through all of them that is best enjoyed if you’re familiar with it. The writing here is flawlessly executed with a seamless plot that rises and falls in ways that absolutely kept me turning the pages long past bedtime. The characters are absolutely people I’d want to know and befriend.
I tend to avoid second chance stories because all too often the hero gets to go about his merry way and enjoy intimacy with new partners while the heroine pines for her lost hero. That’s thankfully not the case here, though I do wish our hero had suffered much more in the wake of their first chance ending. Fortunately he redeems himself by being ‘all in’ this time, though he’s still got some lessons to learn about how to not be a butthead man.
This book firmly planted the author on my radar and prompted me to begin following her. I’m looking forward to the next books in the series.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is a story set in a BDSM Club located in Colorado a big part of the story is a mystery and there I a lot of action. The book is part of a series and all of main characters are well written and this is a big part of why I like the story
This Diamond Dom’s story was fabulous! Lance and Marissa are hot together. I loved reading about another member of the board. It had action, lust, love, suspense, and of course a big does of steam! It definitely was a page turner for me. Club Solitaire sounds actually like ann awesome place with characters that seem so real. I love it when an Author can make the characters like they are actual people. It’s a wonderful skill to have. Ivy Nelson brought more of their stories to this readers delights.
A long time relationship between a Dom and sub with an engagement then everything ended.
A great book of the Diamonds Doms featuring Lance. He is the board member in charge of Solitaire's security. Lance's life is writing computer code and his business along with Solitaire are being attacked. This is shattering Lance. But he has the support of Solitaire's board members that are also his closest friends. Marissa who is a coder as well is hired by Eli the head board member of Solitaire. She used to work with Lance at his company Moss Tech. They also had a D/s relationship and had become engaged. Though their relationship wasn't one that weathered storms well. Something happened at Moss Tech and their D/s and engagement ended. She has no idea that Lance is part of Solitaire and that she would have to work with him in trying to solve the security problems. She has goals of her own that have her taking the job and subjecting herself to the memories that destroyed her and made her seek out a therapist. They manage to work together but they have no idea of all the dangers and destruction that are headed towards them and Solitaire. Ivy Nelson did a tremendous job in bringing this book to the readers. All the relationships of the Diamond Doms are there and such an intense read of Lance with Marissa. We even get a surprise from one of the board members that is more of a stranger to us. I definitely recommend this book. I am looking forward to the next book Ice and other future Diamond Doms novels.
I received an ARC of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
ONE JAW DROPPING WHIRLWIND!!! Ah snap! Ivy dropped the bomb and lowered the boom, raising the stakes and keeping it real, balancing on a razors edge and frozen to your seat, melding this baby together piece by jagged piece. One action packed, hard hitting, pulse racing, heart pounding, adrenaline pumping, page flipping bombshell, blasting this baby to life beautifully. Toss in the drama, intrigue, turmoil, misgivings, underlying threats, spiraling suspense and nail-biting situations along with a boatload of danger while dodging disaster, you have one jaw dropping experience. Shenanigans, escapades and havoc run amuck, blurring lines and crushing boundaries, limitations are amplified and exploited booting this gem into the eye of the storm, kicking it into a frenzy with an astonishing culmination. The magnetism, attraction and chemistry collides with such intensity, exposing deep emotions, drawing our characters closer binding them to one another perfectly. The characters are authentic and realistic with depth and qualities that add diversity, transforming into amazing personalities. The scenes are strikingly sharp with abundant details and depictions creating an elaborate backdrop that's so vividly descriptive it's like your transported to ground zero with them. Remarkable job ivy, thanks for sharing this awesome little gem with us.
Lance Moss is a cyber-security system billionaire and someone is targeting him and anything he has worked on. He is currently running out of time to plug the holes in the Club Solitaire systems before they are forced to close and someone will be hurt. Reluctantly fellow board member and friend Eli brings in an outsider to her - what he didn't expect is for it to be his ex-fiance to walk through the door even though she is still the hottest woman he has ever seen. Marissa Sullivan accepted a job of a lifetime and so had said yes without a second thought, but when she walks in and sees Lance sitting there she turns around and walks out again. He already ruined her life and she will not work with him. Eli begs her to stay and sweetens the deal and so she vows to put aside her hatred and do the job. Lance hasn't changed nor has her intense attraction to him which is intensified when to keep her cover she joins the elite BDSM club. As they race to save the club that has become a second home to so many, they must decide if setting aside their differences to pursue their attraction is worth it or if they’ll go their separate ways when the job is done.
I really enjoyed the story with the merge of the push and pull in the dynamic between Melissa and Lance with the chop and change as they worked out and tried to chase down the source and the reason for the constant cyber attacks against Lance and his company. It was also fascinating to learn a little about the world of cyber security and hackers. I enjoyed their passion for their job as well as each other and it was good to see that through the aid of a shrink they were able, to be honest with themselves as well as each other about their thoughts and feelings. Easy to read, feel and understand. Contains mature content and scenes of a BDSM nature.
Ivy Nelson has hit it out of the park with this 5-star book that continues the A Diamond Doms Series. This is the story of Marissa and Lance. Marissa and Lance were engaged until something happened and Lance thought that Marissa had betrayed him and he called the police on her. This one-act almost ruined Marissa. She has been recommended to Garrett as the best in finding codes and someone has hacked into the computer system at Solitaire BDSM Club. When she gets to the club she is told they need to wait on Lance since it is his system that she would be working on. When Lance comes in Marissa tells Garrett that she can't take the job and starts to leave. Garrett asks her to wait while he talks to Lance. This is when Garrett finds out that they had been engaged and what happened to them. Marissa and Lance agree to work together but it is not easy. Their feelings start coming back to each other. The more Marissa looks the more questions come up. Can Marissa forgive Lance for the past and let him back in? Can Lance prove to Marissa that he still cares for her or will he lose her for good? This was a wonderful book and will have you reading until the end just to find out what happens. I would recommend it to anyone.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
The only thing stronger than the angst in this kinky second chance romance is the insurmountable pull Lance and Marissa have toward each other. Their past love and dynamic was blazing hot and Lance's big mistake threw gasoline onto that fire and burned Marissa's life to the ground.
Now that she has her head back on straight and is building her life back into the one she always wanted, can she trust her former love and Dom to work with her on a job that could very well be the key to getting everything she wants? Or will Lance Moss be re ruin once again?
Lance knows he fucked up. And though he's done what he can to fix things he understands that no means No! So he's kept away, and respected Marissa's decision that she doesn't want to hear from him. But the turmoil at Solitaire leaves Lance outvoted by the rest of the board and reluctantly willing to bring in a tech expert to help.
Lance and Marissa must put their past aside to keep Solitaire safe and bring down this hacker. But they should have known spending so much time together, in a BDSM club no less, would reopen old wounds and stir their lust for each other blurring the lines they thought were so clearly drawn...
Lance and Riss are playing with fire... and boy is it HOT!
All I can say is Ivy Nelson is now one of my favorite authors. Spectacular. This book is smokin hot with love, drama and action. This book makes you tingle all over from excitement and oh, my, sky high desire. There is nothing hotter than an “I did you really, really wrong five years ago and now we have to work together” book. Their fiery, carnal desire is incredible. And I don’t think it’s from hate. I think the love is still there. There is drama and attacks coming from all directions and no one can figure it out. Will it be the end of Marissa and Lance? Once you start reading this book you cannot put it down. As soon as one thing is resolved, another bad situation pops up. Oh my gosh. I’ve got to go back and start reading this series from the very first book. There is a lot of backstory that I am missing and I can’t wait to read it. But this book, amazing, fantastic, dramatic, heartbreaking, suspenseful, and most importantly, superb. Great characters and story line and story writing. You feel like you are a part of the book and not just reading it. Excellent. Excellent. Excellent.
A wonderful, fast paced adventure with a sexy sidestory.
Outside forces damaged Marissa and Lance’s previous relationship, now they need to work together to solve the data breaches in the Lance’s security software before Solitaire’s members are in jeopardy of being exposed. Major assumptions and misdirection had serious career consequences for Marissa, is Solitaire or all Lance’s data security systems at risk or will whoever is behind the data manipulation get revenge?
I loved seeing the vulnerable side of Lance as he adapts to the changing situations and the realization that his creation is not impregnable. The reparation of his actions towards Marissa is admirable, aiding her so she can finally heal her past wounds. There is a lot to be gained, and a lot to lose.
The intrigue level is incredible and draws you in so well. The mystery is like peeling an onion, there are multiple layers that capture your attention and really have you rooting for Lance. Marissa becomes his greatest ally in the fight for the preservation of MIT. A good dose of humour is interlaced throughout.
Ivy Nelson has another hit with Pressure, her latest book in the Diamond Doms series. You do not have to read the previous ones to read this one although there are some repeat characters. Ms. Nelson does a great job of describing Solitaire the bdsm club that is the site of the problem and the characters involved with it. In this book we meet Marissa a computer expert coder hired by Eli from Solitaire. She is hired to figure out what is happening in their computer system and fix it as several people had been outed recently. When she is faced with the builder of the system, Lance, her ex-fiancee she tries to quit but the money was made substantially better. Lance owns Moss Tech and some of his clients systems are being attacked too. Despite not having seen each other in five years and the relationship ending badly they must learn to work together again to solve what is happening to these systems and programs. I received an advance review copy of this book in exchange for my honest and voluntary opinion.
Ivy Nelson continues her Diamond Doms Series with Pressure, which is Lance’s story. This book takes us into Lance’s world of computer hacking, programming. It gives us a look at his past, both with how is company started and how his relationship with his ex-fiancé ended. Lance finally agrees that he is indeed to close to the solitaire website and the security program and protocol to be able to find the hacker, so finally agrees with his fellow board members that the need to bring in and outsider with fresh eyes to help. Eli hires Marissa, an experienced programmer/hacker who just happens to be Lance’s ex-fiancée. After some very heated discussion they agree to work together to solve the problems at Solitaire. Their investigation uncovers a lot of problems that also includes Lance’s company. With a lot of twists and turns Lance and Marisa once again discover their attraction for each other and it develops into something more that is even stronger than before. With some plot twist and intrigue follow Ivy Nelson has she once again captivates you with another Diamond Dom.
Who, How and Why? Club Solitaire is having an issue with Lance’s cyber security measures. He is angry and frustrated about the idea of bringing another expert on board to help work out the issues. Marissa is the board’s choice. Unfortunately, Marissa and Lance had been engaged 5 years ago. Their break-up involved sabotage and mistaken blame. While reluctant to work alongside her former Dom, Marissa is drawn to the outrageous salary and the connection to a BDSM Club. This story is filled with intrigue, intensity, irritation, understanding and possible forgiveness. Will Marissa be willing to work with Lance? Will she ever be able to totally forgive him? When will they discover who is causing all the cyber trouble? Will Club Solitaire be able to overcome the sabotage? Will Marrisa and Lance find a way back to each other? This is a very angst producing and soul searching story that kept me intrigued through to the very end. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
Someone is accessing the club's private information. Now the members are being threatened.
Lance is beginning to think these attacks are personal. They have hit more companies than just the Solitaire, through his data security system. Lance was shocked when he walked in and saw Marissa sitting at the table. You have got to be kidding me, he growled.
Marissa is a computer tech. She is familiar with the lifestyle, she walked away from it five years ago. She was asked to meet with Mr. Barrett to analize the security system. She froze when she heard him mention Lance's name. It couldn't be the same person, could it? She stood abruptly when Lance entered the room, oh hell no. “I’m so sorry, Mr. Barrett,” she whispered as she dropped the pen. “There’s been a terrible mistake. I need to go.”
Will Marissa find out who's hacking into the security system? Will Lance be able to convince her to give them another try?
This series gets more and more interesting with each book.
IT billionaire Lance had a problem. His apps keep getting hacked. Not only is it losing him clients but Club Solitaire’s security has also been compromised. The club’s board has decided to bring in outside help and he’s not happy about it. This is his baby. He especially doesn’t want help from the person they bring in – his ex. They had a D/s relationship until he called the police on her. So, no, he doesn’t think they’ll work well together.
Five years ago Marissa’s life fell apart and she’s been rebuilding it ever since. When she gets the request to help with Club Solitaire’s computer security system, she thinks that this will be her opportunity to finally be able to open her own company. Unfortunately the system was built by the one man she never wants to see again, the man that completely ruined her life, Lance. Can they put aside their past and work together for a common goal?
I think this ranks as my favorite of the Diamond Doms. Marissa’s reaction when Lance walks into the room – my heart totally went out to her. Lance has fought tooth and nail against having an outsider look at his code, but, when it’s inevitable, he’s not ready for that outsider to be Marissa, to whom he owes far more than a grovelling apology. I found it impossible to put this book down; I had to know what was going to happen. There are also indications of how easy it is to ruin someone’s life with false accusations, how hacking really can disrupt everything, and how security may not be that secure – but there are also fantastic scenes at the club, great human interest interactions between Lance, Marissa, and the other club members and Lance’s employees. Yet again, Ivy Nelson has drawn us into the world of Solitaire and, this time, of Moss Tech, and I was very reluctant to leave.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I really understand the people who downgraded this book. I have very mixed feelings about it.
First, no the accounts of cybersecurity and hacking and all that are NOT at all accurate. Now, honestly, that is cool -- hacking is not glamorous and not sexy and tends to result in body shapes that happen when you spend too much time in a chair. But codebreaking does not work like that. Encryption does not work like that. Server power supplies do not work like that. Programmer patterns in code do not work like that. Etc.
The physical security at the club is, yeah, confusing. If the property is secured and fenced, where are the gate cameras?
The complaints about the low number of women in coding are certainly valid.
OK, complaints aside... This is a second-chance BDSM romance. Lance was a complete ass first time around. He winds up with a second chance with Marissa. And, of course, almost blows it again. Etc. And happy ending.
Someone is hacking personal information from Club Solitaire it could cost them members for the private BDSM club because important people are members an it could ruin a lot of lives.Cyber security experts an one of the owners Lance Moss can't seem to find the way it's being done.So the board voted to bring in another expert to help.Never in a million years did Lance or even Marissa expect to see each other .Can they work together an find out where an who is trying to destroy Lances company and Club Solitaire? Will they find a away past the deep hurt to heal ?There are so many twists and turns to this story will keep you riveted until the very last page and leave you begging for more.I love the way this amazing author brings the characters to life before your eyes and makes you feel their emotions and their pain.I can hardly wait to see what's next by this multi talented author.
I have really enjoyed reading Pressure: A Diamond Doms Novel by Ivy Nelson because it is so hot!! This particular story is about Lance and Marissa. They have had a very steamy and hot past together but it did not work out for them. To say that they don't like each other now, is a very strong understatement. When they are forced to work together to solve the issue with a security breach at Solitaire, it tends to bring up old feelings both good and bad. I love Marissa's character because she is feisty and likes to be sarcastic to Lance. Lance has always loved Marissa even after they broke up. I wanted them to work out and get together. This book had me on the edge of my seat for a while. I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest opinion. Loved it and I highly recommend reading this book!
The story is pretty good but asside from Lance feeling Pressure to find the security threat I don't get the book title....yes this is another mystery/crime thriller and a gilted lover love story. I wish we didn't have to wait for more books on this series.... I hope Jax's and Dakota's stories will be a bit humorous when we get there... Looking forward for Samuel story next... I sense another mystery... But as I don't think he is ever been mentioned Domming anyone who knows what his links are... Lance having a sub who isn't really spankable is interesting... It might have been fun to let Marissa play with her switch side more... But it was fun when she surprised Lance with a wee bit of bondage. I enjoyed this one but maybe the BDSM relationship could have had a bit more focus. Still a good story
Once again, another excellent book in this series. I’d been waiting for Lance’s book, because he just struck me as someone in need. (I’ve also been waiting for Hunter to have a turn as well as for Jax and Dakota to get together, but we’ll see).
Lance and Marissa are a good team when they’re not hating or doubting each other. They have a lot of reason for distrust, but hopefully, they manage to keep it all together and stay together. It certainly didn’t take them long to fall back into old patterns, with Lance kissing her the second night they were at Solitaire. From there, it’s a bumpy ride to the finish.
I don’t know if this is the greatest book in the series. Honestly, I’ve loved every single one of them, and I wouldn’t want to have to pick. They’re all interwoven in such a way that it’s really best to read them in order.
Several years ago, Marissa & Lance’s engagement was ended when his accusations towards her almost landed her in jail. She was blacklisted everywhere, finally found a new job, and things slowly started to get better.
Then she was offered a contract to solve issues in the programs used at a local BDSM club. All is fine, except she’ll have to work closely with Lance again, the person she used to love & be engaged to, the same person who betrayed her so badly. Working on the problem will be hard enough, but the lack of trust between them will make it worse...
This was a nice story. At times, Lance just seemed a bit unlikable (even at the beginning when he spoke very brusquely to a sub... I realize he was emotional, but it wasn’t a nice first impression).
It was clear their trust issues were going to cause more problems, but it was still a nice story to read.
Lance Moss is another of the board members at Club Solitaire. He is in charge of the security for the club. All of a sudden, Lance is under a lot of pressure because someone has been targeting the security at Solitaire as well as some of Lance’s customers. His main headquarters is in Chicago. Another board member, Russell Adler, recommends Marissa Sullivan to the group at Solitaire. She is also from Chicago and is heading to Colorado after spending a few days with her sister Daphne first. Marissa is a good choice because she knows what Solitaire is because Marissa was in the lifestyle until five years ago. It turns out that Lance was her fiancé five years ago.
Even though their past relationship is messy, the chemistry and mutual respect between Lance and Marissa jumped off the pages. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series.
