Malorie Cooper likes to think of herself as a dreamer and a wanderer, yet her feet are firmly grounded in reality.
A ‘maker’ from an early age, Malorie loves to craft things, from furniture, to cosplay costumes, to a well-spun tale, she can’t help but to create new things every day.
A rare extrovert writer, she loves to hang out with readers and people in general. If you meet her at a convention, she just might be rocking a catsuit, cosplaying one of her own characters, or maybe her latest favorite from Overwatch!
She shares her home with a brilliant young girl, her wonderful wife (who also writes), a cat that chirps at birds, a never-ending list of things she would like to build, and ideas…
Dang. The Arc of this storyline was awesome the ending was very good cannot wait to keep reading more about this universe
I've thoroughly enjoyed all of these books the fact that much of the technology is on the edge of plausibility makes it very enticing from a straight science fiction point of view where many times sci-fi books could almost fall into fantasy with how they do things this is not that kind of book well written great characters a lot of adventure a lot of drama a lot of fighting a well-woven tail can't wait to start the next one even though this series is complete in this section of reading there are so many more books tied to this universe
Last minute introductions of key characters Story arcs not finished or rushed Core AI and Sol defenders make absurd bad strategic choices against opponents with superior tech. Superior tech owners take huge personal risks for what? Their tech should have been able to achieve same or better results ( immobilizing the Sol system) and surprise the Core AI at their system, and unite humanity in a later stage. The numbers or fleet size is not that important given the previous huge fleet battles. Read it out of curiosity unfortunately lost the appetite for more.... feel like a loss. She can do better , should have taken more time.
So Tanis has arrived at the end of this adventure, but a new one will soon begin for her and her family. She may have lead the I2 and it crew back to where it all began. Looking forward to see what happens next.
Malorie's done a respectful job of tying up most of the loose threads/storylines of the immense back stories that have led to this point in Tanis's story. There's still plenty of openings for several other characters to receive their own stories/series. Plus we know there's more for Tanis, Angela & Tangel yet to come.
A great end to a chapter in the story arc with an excellent lead in for the next chapter.
I chose this rating due the the masterful thing in and up of the multiple storylines while ending one story arc and setting the stage for the next. If this is your first Aeon book get at least the previous 12 to follow the story. Well worth it!
I love the characters MD Cooper has created. It has been so wonderful to fall in love withe the universe she has created and all the relationships that have been built between the characters. I hope that as the future unfolds she continues to allow us to view the characters in separate story lines because my only complaint for this book would be that it was hard to keep track of all the separate adventures and I wanted more screen time with every thing. My favorite complaint in a big book. It wasn’t long enough 😆
A great, satisfying conclusion to the Orion War arc. Follows on from the cliffhangers from the previous books to nicely resolve them, and flowing straight into the next challenges for the characters. Quite a bit of emotion, and interesting character interplay now that we have Tanis, Angela and Tangel in the same book, and plenty of personal roadblocks for the characters to overcome as well as dealing with their primary antagonists. I found the ending very sweet, and I look forward to seeing what new adventures our heroes may face next :)
Cooper has done the fans proud as this is a big ending and so deserved an amazing story and a hefty size to tell it. The return of certain characters and from those who were at the start ready at the end made this a welcome reunion and a great sense of completion especially for thkse fans who have follwed all the side series arcs. Although an ending is reached i loved how this also set up for the next few series and proves what an expansive, realistic detailed world she has created that may be set to rival established scifi genres
