Shiva Sutras: Aphorisms of Shiva

Rate this book
According to Shaiva tradition, the Shiva Sutras were found engraved on a stone by Vasugupta, the founder of Kashmiri Shaivism, who probably lived in 8th century AD. It has 77 or 79 sutras or aphorisms. The Shiva Sutras is a manual on Yoga, which is very useful to the students of spirituality and the devotees of Shiva who want to practice spiritual purification through transformative and contemplative practices and the awakening of shaktis. This is an English translation of the Sanskrit text, with commentary, by Jayaram V. The sutras are very useful for contemplation to gain insight into the nature of Shiva consciousness, the energies or shaktis in the body and how to harness them for the purification, perfection, and liberation.
