ScaleGuard #1

ScaleGuard: Transported to Another World Full of Busty Babes and Also I Can Summon Crocodiles

Rate this book
Gideon "Gids" Trent didn't know what he wanted to do with his life. College sucked, his future was bleak, and his parents were constantly pushing him to actually do something with himself. He just didn't know what to do. Then his brakes gave out and drove off a bridge. It's not all bad though. After dying, his soul was recovered by the Egyptian god Sobek, who offered Gids a new chance at life; as Sobek's champion in the magical fantasy world of Crucible. Here Gids uses the world's bizarre RPG-like logic and systems to build himself into a Beastmaster, utilizing Sobek's other gift to the power to summon crocodiles at will. With the aid of Lyra, a Paladin of Sobek, Gids heads out on his grand adventure, full of beautiful women, deadly foes, and mystical perils! And as the city of Heliosor falls prey to a strange and mysterious plague, Gideon and his new and surprisingly attractive party of adventurers must step up to the plate and save this strange new world he's found himself in! The legend of the ScaleGuard begins here!

A fun book.

This book was very enjoyable as it made me laugh at the MC as he reacted to the new world around him. The pacing was good and I enjoyed the world building.

I liked it

I like the novel for the link that it was. It seemed to skip the in depth details of magical classes, religions, and all the cultural aspects that some books would pile onto a story. It seems to cater to the people who have read these types of stories many times before and who may be able to piece together the story line for themselves with the information of books read before. For the first book it is a decent start, with a good short plot with possible extensions for the future story. It's also nice that there's a makeup of a party that's a little bit different than usual search with a paladin, a necromancer, a thief, and a Beastmaster. The main character should probably start summoning more crocodiles though no enemy is difficult if they are buried in flesh r e n d i n g reptiles
