Of Fire and Water

Rate this book
Calla escaped Morbeth only to find herself fighting for her life once more. Incendia seemed the perfect sanctuary of escape. The stories told of the mystical island claim all inhabitants were annihilated. Those tragic tales . . . were lies.
Desperate to keep their truth hidden, the islanders take Calla and her friends prisoner. Despite her dire situation, something about that beautiful—yet deadly—paradise speaks to Calla’s soul, whispering the powerful secrets pulsing through her veins. As Roehl hunts for her, eager to claim his murderous vengeance, Calla searches for answers she believes only Incendia can offer.
Can Calla harness the power surging within her in time to protect herself, and those she loves, from Roehl? Or, no matter where she runs, will the twisted royal continue to chase her to the farthest reaches of any realm?

Of Fire and Water, the second book in the Heir of Blood and Fire series picks up where Of the Blood left off. Calla attempts to go to Incendia to learn more about her powers while fleeing from the evil Roehl. As she prepares for the eventual confrontation with Roehl, the prince who held her captive, Calla finds friends and allies who help her in her quest. Can Calla master her powers and defeat the forces that threaten her and those she loves?

I enjoyed this strong addition to the series which focuses on Calla’s growth as she traverses new lands and learns more about the people and herself. The characters are fantastic, and the world-building is immense and vivid. Renae created an immersive world filled with unique settings, people, creatures, and customs. Calla has so much to experience and learn, and it’s fascinating to see these new worlds from her perspective. Underwater worlds, mythical lands, unusual creatures, and inexplicable powers create such a captivating story.

Haunted by her imprisonment in Morbeth and fearing Roehl’s vengeance, Calla determines to learn to use and control her powers to help protect herself and her friends. I loved Calla’s growth throughout the story and how she slowly begins to find answers to the questions that plague her. Also, even though Calla fears Roehl and still struggles to cope with what happened to her, she refuses to back down and gains much more confidence in herself. She begins to realize that she has the ability to affect change, and she feels empowered to right some of the wrongs that have happened to herself and those she loves. I can’t wait to see how Calla continues to hone her skills and fight against those who threaten her. .

There’s a big focus on friendship and building relationships throughout the story, and I love that Calla has found people she can trust and depend on. As Calla doesn’t have her best friend or her family to lean on, her found family becomes very important to her and pivotal in her success. As she grows nearer to fulfilling the prophecy, I have a feeling her friends will become more important than ever.

As I said in my review for Of the Blood, there are several possible love interests in Calla’s life, but in this story, it becomes pretty clear who she favors. And she sure made the right choice!! The chemistry between Calla and her main love interest is fantastic, and though they aren’t together through much of the book, his presence is a constant. Other potential romances in the story also intrigue me, especially one between two of Calla’s friends, and I’m curious to see if that relationship will develop further in future books.

Of Fire and Water is not a standalone, so I recommend reading Of the Blood, the first book in the series, before reading this one. It is a great series for readers who enjoy young adult dark paranormal romance with vivid world-building and unique characters. Thanks so much to NetGalley, Cameo Renae, and The Next Step PR for a copy of the book in exchange for my honest review.

Oh Cameo, you did it again! Calla is coming into her own person with her new gifts and gaining more and more friends (and more!) along the way. Trystan is still trying to save Calla. Kai is still Calla’s rescuer. Sabine becomes a greater best friend and tries to adjust to a life where she can be served instead of doing the serving. Markus is still a fierce protector. Calla is still running from Roehl who is still a grade A psychopath. How long is she going to be able to stay hidden in Incendia from him? Unfortunately, not at long as we hope. Calla does get to learn quite a bit about her past and her gifts while being in Incendia and then she gets to learn a lot more about another place on the map (I’m not going to spoil where she gets to go!). Plus we got to meet a handful of amazing new characters!! A few you will love, a few you will hate as much as Roehl. There is a good mix of good and evil characters in this new book.

There’s freedom, loyalty, hope, knowledge, love, friendships, hate, family, surprises, more magic, heartbreak... I don’t know how Cameo was able to pack everything she did into this book and yet she still made it all seem possible in this world. The way everything flowed, from one event to the next, was flawless. We got just enough downtime and “play” before the poop hit the fan. But the poop hit the fan quite a bit so it definitely keeps you on your toes and the edge of your seat waiting to see what happens next.

Calla learned a couple of secrets about Trystan and what’s a good romance novel if your heart isn’t crushed at least once, right? But Cameo did give me hope in the end! So I appreciate that ❤️ I can’t wait to see what happens in Book 3! P.S. I still hate Roehl!

This memorably beautiful book is dripping in jaw dropping scenes and breathless moments that will leave you clutching a hand over your heart! This was absolutely unputdownable and heartbreaking! I'm freaking out and needing more because things just got even more serious! Like, how is that even possible!?

This beautifully written book picks right up from where Of The Blood left us. We're given flirtatious scenes and ones that are shocking and some that will have you sighing in the best of ways. The theme of friendship is seriously layered throughout this.

But.... that cliffy broke my heart just as much as those last few chapters did. Everything is up in the air as a fear-filled prophecy looms over the fate of one that Calla loves. She's forced into several difficult situations and comes out gracefully each time. But making those decisions costs her.

I can't help but love the men in this series! They're all perfectly delicious rocking those alpha vibes and smoldering off of these pages. This is total fan waving hotness that's absolutely gleeful! I'm totally fine with whichever ends up with our princess.

Cameo Renae always, always, always entertains and enchants. Her words will take you away and make your world brighter. Your heart may be left in tatters along the way, but it will absolutely be worth it.

Book 2 of the Heir of Blood and Fire Series is here and I am freaking out. I have been dying for this release. This one picks up right where Of The Blood left off we we don’t miss a thing.

Calla finally made it to Incendia!! To find out more about her powers and how to control them. Of course nothing is easy for her but she rises above! Still on the run from Roehl, she is on a mission to learn everything she can and to end him for good.

I was getting worried there for a bit because I hadn’t seen an appearance from my main man Trystan..... I should of known better those two come together and it’s fireworks! He always will find her!

Once again Cameo took us on an amazing adventure. I couldn’t get enough!! After this ending I cannot wait for book 3.

Of Fire and Water by Cameo Renae is SO GOOD. Just when I didn’t think this series could get better, it got better. As I said in my review for book one, I’m a huge fan of Cameo Renae and this series is a perfect example of why.

This plot is so immersive, I sat down to read and didn’t stop until I finished the entire book. I was constantly looking for what was next, and I was never disappointed. Action packed, and wonderful world building. This book really has it all.

I absolutely love Calla. She is so brace and she’s such a relatable character. Honestly, one of the strongest points of this author’s writing is her characters.

I can’t wait to read more of this series. I highly recommend giving this a shot. I would suggest reading in order, as I think you’ll get more out of the series.

What can I say but this was an amazing ride and I do not know how I am going to be able to wait for the next book!

Calla grew so much in this book and the way she acted in the end, she deserves a crown! There are so many obstacles in the way and Calla and friends handle it in stride. We get more Trystan and honestly it still wasn't enough for me, I need all the Trystan! I loved the interactions between the two and we get more of a certain character from book 1 that I know y'all will love getting to know more of!

This is all I will say to avoid spoilers, you need to grab this book asap, if you haven't read the first book go get it now!

This series is perfect for readers looking for a story that will take them on a journey and adventure of a lifetime. For me, every story this author writes makes me feel as if I'm watching everything play out in front of my very eyes. This was a good story but I enjoyed the first book more. I enjoyed reading Calla's character grow a little and learn to control some of her gifts, as she has more power than she could have ever imagines. The chemistry between Calla and Trystan is undeniable, they always leave me wanting more. I hated that there wasn't more of Trystan in this story. However, its a story full of wonderful characters that you will love, and friendships that will have leave you smiling. I don't want to give anything away but I wasn't ready for this story to end with that cliffhanger. I cannot wait to read the next book.

I have received this ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Of Fire and Water was a pretty good sequel. In it, you are with Calla who finally reaches the island that was supposed to be her safe place. Even though it doesn't last, because of a weird evil Queen, she winds up making friends and escaping to another world.

I still feel like I don't have all the information because I have so many questions. Whether it's about one of the many princes who are pretty obvious with their feelings.. or the overall thread of death hanging over them. Add in an old Seer who sees someone close to her dying.. and the adventure goes into all kinds of chaos.

I'll admit that I liked getting to meet some of the new characters. Also, if certain people don't play with Spot soon.. send him my way. That little sea monster was so freaking cute. As for the ending? Oh man, I have so many questions floating around in my head. I wonder if what the Seer predicted will come true or if she can somehow bamboozle the crap out of this situations and save the one she loves.

Definitely need the next book stat!

Holy cow what a twisted tale this was.

The characters were amazing. Calla is still such a strong main character. Everything she felt, I felt with her. I have made a very strong connection with her. It was hard not to connect with her.

The storyline was incredible. This author spun a huge web of twists and turns that made me want to yell and throw a fit, yet it also kept me wanting to come back and read some more. And that ending. Cliffhangers are not my thing and I am desperately dying to find out what happens next but I have no choice but to wait. I loved Calla's and her friend's adventures in this story. It kept the story extremely entertaining from beginning to end and I highly recommend it!!

Of Fire and Water is the second book in this series. Calla has really grown since we first met her. She is now a strong and courageous woman and is learning more about her magic and how to use it. I love her friendship with Sabine and was glad to see some more familiar faces in this book.
This was a great read and can’t wait to read what happens next!

Of Fire and Water is the second book of the Heir of Blood and Fire Series. The first book is entitled Of the Blood. I stumbled upon this beauty on NetGalley when I was looking for a book to read. When I first saw it, I was intrigued by the cover page and the title so I said to myself “why not?” and it doesn’t disappoint at all. Reading the first chapter, I was already immersed in the story that I couldn’t stop reading it so I stayed up until 2 am to finish the story. It makes you want to read more and more because every part of the story is exciting and gives you the thrill of wanting to find out what’s gonna happen next.

The main character, Calla is brave and sympathetic towards her loved ones and the people around her. Understandably, she would be scared about certain things at first but with the desire of keeping her friends and family safe, she bravely faced it. She endured a lot of pain and struggles and that’s what makes her stronger. I also really looked forward to the interactions between Calla and her friends because they are adorable and funny. I love how they care for each other and how protective they are when they feel something strange about an event or a person. The love they have for each other is literally one of the best things in the book. The love, freedom, friendship, family, mystery, honor, and everything is doubtless to look forward to in this book. And also the men here in Of Fire and Water are like the fire that would give you heat in your body and burn you with their hotness because they are gorgeous and would leave you in awe. I absolutely love them all! *chef’s kiss*

Here are some of my favorites quotes/lines in the book:

“An unexplainable love that will hold on to you even after you’ve let go.”

“I would fight for him because I loved him. I would fight for him because he had fought for me from the beginning. And I would fight for him, even if it meant giving up my life.”

“I was going to rain down hell and fire.”

Other than the powers and all, the relationships between the characters are realistic and they are portrayed beautifully, so I praise the Author Cameo Renae for the job well done. Even though the story left me on a crazy cliffhanger, I would still highly recommend this book to readers who love fantasy to read this series. Let me know if you guys finished this book so we could talk about it! Also, I couldn’t wait for the next book to come and I would definitely read it right away!

I give this book 5 out of 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

My mind was just completely blown!! I am not sure I can pick up all the pieces of my heart after being shattered and shocked from the unrelenting wicked twists and turns throughout this flawless masterpiece!! I will never be the same or look at the world the same ever again. Of Fire and Water is a scintillating work of art that will transform any heart into one that is more aware, hopeful, and loving of those around them.

Calla has set out on a journey to discover who she really is. What she finds will never leave her the same again. Her decision to embrace her destiny is one that will never allow her go back to when life was simpler and safe. When circumstances reveal deceptions from those who should be welcoming and understanding, Calla must determine who her true allies are keep them close. Will jealousy and vengeance bring a swift end to her life, or can Calla manage to survive long enough to learn that that there is more to her life then just running and hiding?

Oh how I loved seeing Trystan continue to pursue Calla. His steady and passionate devotion to her makes me swoon into a puddle of happiness. I love that he can open her up like no one else and show her the beauty and hope of life beyond the fear that she lives with. I also enjoyed getting to know Marcus and Sabine better. They were never more devoted friends and guardians of our remarkable heroine then these two.

What can I say about this second book in this stunning series except that it has decimated my world and left me raw and ruined for any other young adult author. Cameo Renae is truly a goddess among authors. Her monumental creativity and stunning heart never fail to touch me on such a deep level. It doesn't matter what she writes about, I always walk away changed for the better. She is a rock in my life that I know will help to keep me grounded and always looking for hope and light around me.

Another hit by author Cameo Renae with book 2, Of Fire and Water in The Heir of Blood and Fire series. If you haven't read the first book before this one, be sure to read it as book 2 continues directly from the first story.

In Of Fire and Water, we're immediately immersed back into Calla's world as she and her close friends nearly escaped death to reach the island, Incendia. We learned in the first book that Incendia is Calla's heritage, a place where her powers originate. But what awaits her at Incendia? Although secrets and discoveries are revealed, Calla must discover her true powers on the island. There she is tested and meets someone who will awaken all of her powers.

What I like most with this series is the smooth transitions from one step to the other. There's never a dull moment and you're along the tumultuous ride with Calla and her friends. Calla is immediately likeable. She's kind, intelligent, and courageous which endears her to pretty much everyone that she meets.
In book 2 of the series, there's definitely a shift in Calla as she's faced with a few difficult choices. Of course we can't have a story by Cameo without adding in handsome love interests and strong comrades. There are many supporting characters that you'll grow to love as well.

Book 2 ends with a cliffhanger but that's to be expected as this is sort of like a soap opera series where you're supposed to be left yearning for the next episode. All I can say is, Cameo, please hurry with book 3!!!

Of Fire and Water is a YA fantasy/paranormal, and book two in the Heir of Blood and Fire series.

Picking up right where Of The Blood leaves off, and right from page one this book is go go go. The adventure is constant and it doesn't deter from the story. You get answers along the way as well as new questions. There is a love plot but it isn't the main feature of this book. Of Fire and Water is centered more on self discovery and friendships.

Calla is put through the ringer once again, back stabbing  lies, secrets and heartache, she doesn't seem to get a break. But she has an amazing group of people surrounding her, encouraging and protecting her.

Cameo left us with a big Ole Cliffhanger, and while throwing kindles are frowned upon, the last 20% or so will test your resolve. Just know, the next book is coming!!!!

The audacity of the author to end this on a cliffhanger! But honestly, that ending was...not okay.

Let me start off by saying I did find the first one-third of this book rushed and a bit obvious, perhaps, even dull.

However, it all took a turn for the better once our favorite vampire prince made his return. I think the issue with this book is I’m more invested in the relationships than I am in the plot. The friendship scenes, the romance scenes, I enjoyed.

Anything to do with Incendian Queen and Roehl? Meh...

Quick List of Pro-Cons
Pros:
1. Heroine has close relationships outside of the main romance
2. Female characters who support each other and aren’t pitted against each other for no reason
3. A mostly-likable hero

Cons:
1. Insta-love vibes, the confession didn’t come until this book but let’s be honest we all knew it was set in stone since book one
2. Special snowflake syndrome - the heroine has all the special powers, is the chosen one and gets grasp on a good chunk of her power with little to no training

In terms of writing style, I wouldn’t say this book is anything special. It’s pretty standard, which makes it easy to read but also has me feeling like it might be a bit too basic? I don’t know how to describe it but it’s almost like the mood hasn’t been probably set. Also, I’ve been spoiled lately by writers who write delicious smut so I was bummed we didn’t get more steam from our main leads.

All in all though, after making it past the first third, I flew through this and I’m hooked enough that I will definitely check out the next installment because that cliffhanger cannot be allowed to stand.

I received a free ARC via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Just like the first book, this baby is jam packed full of heart stopping, action packed, emotional rollercoaster, head spinning goodness!
Calla has finally made it to the home she never knew waited for her, where the questions about her powers can be answered, and hopefully fast, Roehl will not stop until her finds her and the traitors that turned on him and helped her. But Incindia is not what she expected.

This book was... mind blowing and overflowing with so much happening, and you never want it to end. Not gonna lie, I hollered out loud, cried, laughed, cursed Cameo and gave her ultimatums she couldn't hear... I was making my own deals to try to protect characters that had moved into my heart!
And then it ended... and now I'm dying... until book 3 comes out and saves my battered soul.

first of all, I wanted to say that this such an amazing series and I would definitely recommend it for people who love young adult dark paranormal romance with some unique charachters.

Charachters:
I loved this book because of a lot of things but one of them is the clearly visible growth of Calla, she becomes more confident, badass and just mature in general. I am also so happy that Calla is developing her new powers and is learning how to controle them and not just for herself but to protect her friends. There are new charachters and new love intrests ;) and all of them have a good charachter build but no one steels my heart the way the main love intrest does, also there migh by some romantic relationship developments going on between some friends of her. Also the old charachters are developing nicely and some dark secrets are coming to the light which makes the charachters even more relateble, the ones we hate from book 1 (yes Roehl we are all looking at you) are also in this book and we all hate him even more.

worldbuilding:
ok wow, in this book the worldbuilding is juist wonderful, the unique settings, the underwater worlds, the mythical lands, the new unusual cretures and so much more, this story has an amazing worldbuilding, the new things, the unexpected things and so much more, I was so surprised by it, and just amazed by it, I don't know how Cameo has done it but just wow.

story:
As we all had questions on the end of book 1, a lot of them are answered in this book. I love that just as us, calla has questions and looks for anwers. Which makes it also interesting for us to read it. It's like we are in the story and also looking for the answers.
I love the way the story is developing en how it's going. the way it's writting makes it so much more interesting to see how it continues. And I defenitly can't wait to read the rest of the story.

extra thoughts:
I love the fact that there is a big focus on builing relationships/friendships throughout the story. I love that there are people who genuily care about Calla and she can trust them. Definitely because she lost her real family, friends (book 1 gives more info on that). And I do believe that that's amazing for her to have found such a close 'found family' because it will help her fulfill the prophecy (yes you heard it right, a prophecy!!).
Also, the fact that Cameo has written this story containing so many themes like freedom, hope, love, friendship, family, magic, heartbreak,... and doesn't make it sound cliché and boring is just amazing, so yes this story has it all, different themes, to make the story just amazing. And yes this story is so well written that you just feel everything Calla is feeling, the hate, love,... and that is just a big bonus.

thank you so much Cameo Renae and literary bound tour for a copy to review.

I received a free copy of this book from the author.

This is the much anticipated second book in the Heir of Blood and Fire series. You must read book one in order to read this one. Otherwise you'll be totally lost and won't have a clue what's happening even with the author's recaps.

I'm struggling with how I feel about this book. After reading the first one I couldn't wait to get my hands on this one and it's been so long that I think some of that fire has burned out. Not to say this in between story isn't good I just feel stuck.

There's a ton of information given in this book. Lots of behind the scenes scheming that you don't see until it's revealed - because it's only told from the heroine's POV so we miss out on the others to know what's going down.

I really would love to read Tristan's POV at some point because at this point he's got to be pulling his hair out...as I would be.

Anyway - it's a calmer ride than the first book - which might be what I think it's missing. There's only one scene in the book that could be considered intense and that's it.

Okay I'm done whining now - I am looking forward to the next installment. Hoping all the characters dreams can come true and Calla quits thinking she has to save the world all by herself. Rome wasn't built in a day, dear. You'll need some help.

Here's hoping she's smart enough to accept it once her friends catch up to her!

WOW wow WOW!!!!! I didn’t want to put this down ... even when I knew I’d regret the all night reading sess upon daybreak when I had to get up for work. #noregrets In all honesty, finishing this book in less than 24 hours was the fastest I’ve read anything in quite awhile. I simply could not wait to see what was on the next page. Was not let down! Phenomenally addictive!
I have awaited this release since the moment I turned the last page on book 1! I absolutely adore these characters, their world, & this series!!!! Cameo brought the fire & then some with this one in so many ways! What an exciting adventure this has been!
I can’t even pick a favorite character as I have so many feelings & adoration for almost every one of them. A few earned far darker feelings that I am hoping we will explore more of in book 3. *insert evil grin*
BUT .... that cliffhanger is gonna have me Cr@zy until book 3 is finally available! Dang her amazing skills!! Every single moment had my full attention. The details jumped off the pages in full color as we were transported across the sea & dove deeper yet. A truly magical tale you won’t want to miss. During the intense emotional scenes please refrain from throwing your e-reader across the room as I promise you will want to see what happens next. Maybe consider having a printed copy on standby just in case. ((I’M KIDDING!! Maybe....)) Seriously though, a must read!!!! Enjoy!

Wow, I'm not sure what to say except this book was phenomenal. The word building was just amazing, I'm not sure how Cameo Renae came up with this world and these characters. Absolutely loved them. Once I started reading Of Fire & Water, I couldn't put it down, I had it finished before 24 hours was up. Each turn of the page brought more action and drama, you can't help but to want more. I think if I was to pick a favorite character it would be a toss up between Trysten and Kai. They both pull on your heart strings, maybe Kai more than Trysten since he's the underdog here. Watching Calla grow and learn more about herself is empowering. I can't wait to get my hands on book three as I know Ill devour it just as I've done with the first two books.

I've been so excited for the release of book two in the Heir of Blood and Fire series since finishing book one, and the author did not disappoint. In book one I'd wanted more scenes with Trystan and I definitely got them in this story. Book two pretty much continues from where book one left off. Calla has finally reached the Kingdom of Incendia, with the hopes of finding answers, but that's not all she gets. She's on the run from Roehl still and knows she can't stay in one location for too long but she needs to know more about her powers.

I absolutely adored Sabine and Markus in this story, Markus of course is his usual grumpy self, but I wouldn't have him any other way. Plus, we got introduced to some new characters on the way who I thoroughly enjoyed, keep an eye out for Spot, that's all I'm saying.

The cliffhanger ending almost broke me, and it's left me slightly nervous to see what is going to happen to Calla and those around her in book three. Now I just need to try and be patient while I wait for it to come out.

Calla is destined for so much more than she could ever believe until now. One way or another she will survive! Who can she trust and where will she go on this journey set before her?

I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I am so thankful to Literary Bound Tours and the author for the opportunity! I was introduced to this series by this tour and I was happy to meet this magical world and these magical characters.

This book is NOT a standalone and is the second installment to the Heir of Blood and Fire series so if you are interested in this book, you should read the first book before you sink your teeth into this one or else you WILL NOT understand what the hay is going on.

This author has a great way of introducing characters and world building so that readers can absorb all the information without going insane from all the details. The world that this author has created was just so COOL! There were so many types of magic and magical creatures that I loved to meet. The author also introduced all the dynamics of the world through the path of the main character which is a way that all fantasies should be done. I also felt like the magic just made so much sense. I mean yes, I know that magic isn’t supposed to make sense, but you get what I mean.

I also love the main character and her strong friendships. The book put a lot of importance on its female characters and their relationships and that was so refreshing to me. I also loved watching Calla grow in this book. In the first book, I honestly wasn’t that much of a fan, her storyline seemed kind of boring and I found her a tad whiny. However, I pushed through and it was worth it because Calla became a badass that let NO ONE control her life.

However, the only flaw in this book was the love interest.... He was just so blah and I think Calla deserves better. They are just so boring..... The will they won’t think is kind of annoying. I’m kind of just over it.

Overall, this installment was a great addition to the series and I can’t wait for the next book because that ending was CRAZY!

It took me forever to finish - at no fault of the storyline; just life was busy.
I really enjoyed the next instalment to Calla's journey. So much occurs in this part - Calla gathering more understanding on who she is and her powers. Again, I really enjoy that although Calla is a vampire - this is not what is prominent about her nor a focus on the story.
I'm dying for a relationship to form with either one of two men; however Calla stops this on many occasions for all different reasons. I'm not sure who I want her to be with most. © My heart did break for Trystan after he laid it all out for Calla.
I enjoy all the different lands Calla and her cadre visit; finding new information out along the way. The description on everything is perfect! I almost feel like l'm right there with them.
I can't wait to see the growth Calla makes in the next book - I hope she remains fierce and unwraps her full potential to beat the horrible villain.

Second book of this series and I was really looking forward to read this.

Although there isn't as much action as there was in the first book, there is lots of information I feel like you have to know. I really loved seeing Calla grow op more, become more mature. Also loved to see the friendships blossom between her and the other characters.

I loved how this book was written en it's such an easy read! Could definitely recommend reading this series... But hold op, THIS CLIFFHANGER! You can't do this to us. You just simply can't. ;-)

Also I loved this quote in the book:
What is the world without hopes and dreams, Sea Star

OH. MY. HEART.

I can’t EVEN y’all. This book was a wild ride, just like the first. But with a little more pizzaz. The curves in this one had me on the edge of my feels, praying someone would catch me.

I loved that the majority of the book took place in a kingdom most didn’t know even existed. So our sweet Calla could learn her magic and thrive.

I also loved seeing ALL of the characters from book one. Everything meshes so well together and Calla really comes into her own in this book.

I will warn you, HEARTACHE galore. My heart…it’s broken.

So good!
You know a book is well written when you not only love the MCs but also all the side characters. All these swoony friends of Calla and Trystan need their own books!

I can’t find the words to express my love for this series. It’s just so good! The only thing I didn’t love was that rotten cliffhanger. Gah! Next book, now, please!

My heart hurts

When I started reading, I was silently begging for more Trystan. THEN my heart was ripped out and stomped all over! Calla’s powers are growing and she’s going to need them for the next book! I love Kai, Markus, and Sabine and hope we see them in the finale
