This was better than volume one, but I still ended up skimming sections and I kind of rushed the end to get it over with.
It's the system stuff. If you scrapped all the massive lists of stats and skill descriptions, the pacing would be better. Unfortunately, you'd also make the book half as long. Massive blocks of test doing nothing aside from listing skill names is boring. Sorry. It is.
Also, this book could do with a good proofreader.
Aside from that, the story is less tedious than book one, having action and something to hold your interest all the way through. Though starting with a cooking lesson was less than ideal. Aside from the cooking lesson, stuff happens and fight descriptions were more exciting. The author is improving there.
As I said, better than book one. Also, this should look amazing as an anime... assuming the screenwriter is any good. I wouldn't necessarily recommend this series, but I wouldn't stop anyone reading it either.
