A woman is abducted from her home.
Her husband is out for revenge.
A detective between two worlds...
Then she uncovers a chilling secret.

Detective Reece Cannon is shocked to learn her partner has been assaulted and his wife abducted from the safety of their own home.

Reece instantly senses that her grieving partner is out for trouble. He won't rest until he avenges the crimes against his wife, no matter the cost.

When the murders begin, Reece will need to root out a killer before her partner ends up in jail—or worse.

Does Reece know the kidnapper? And is she the next victim?

As the body count rises with no end in sight, Reece must face the deepest truth she's ever had to admit.

Who will get the final word…and revenge?

The latest Reece Cannon thriller is the best yet. Knox develops a new standard of excellence with superb plotting, emotional resonance, and the gripping prose he brings to the entire cast of characters. Readers of the first two books will love this one, and newcomers will seek out the earlier entries.

Knox’s Reece Cannon series is perfect for fans of Harlan Coben, Michael Connelly's Renee Ballard or Harry Bosch, David Baldacci's Atlee Pine, to Paula Hawkin's Girl on the Train.

Lieutenant Tommy Shanahan's house has an intruder bent on killing him. But Shanahan is a tough cookie and although he is assaulted, it is his wife who is knocked for a loop and abducted.

Shanahan is scheduled to testify against a well known drug dealer. The won't be the last time someone tries to kill him and he is certain it is to keep him from testifying.

Detective Reece Cannon is astonished at what has happened in her absence. Shes afraid that Shanahan will go rogue until he finds his wife ... dead or alive.

As Cannon and her team investigate, more bodies turn up. Reece evidently has come close to someone who wishes to remain anonymous .... and there are eyes watching her very carefully.

Has she become the next target?

This is a fast-paced page turner from start to finish. Characters / suspects are many and varied. Shanahan goes off the deep end, making one wonder if he'll make it all the way back. Cannon is a fierce fighter for justice .... and still has to deal with her father who seems to be on the other side of the law. The author has done a fine job of character development. Although 3rd in a series, this can easily be read as a stand alone. I do recommend starting at the beginning for some really good reading.

Many thanks to the author for the digital copy of this crime fiction. Read and reviewed voluntarily, opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.

Revenge Code: An Absolutely Gripping Mystery Suspense Novel (A Reece Cannon Thriller), my first entertaining read from author Paul Knox and the first in the Reece Cannon series. Well-written fiction with characters & plot you can buy into with unexpected twists & turns. I got this audiobook in August of 2020 and am just mow getting arond to reading it. I look forward to Blatant Lies: A gripping crime thriller packed with mystery and suspense (A Reece Cannon Thriller Book 1). “I received a free Kindle copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

In what will be Detective's Cannon and Shanahan's toughest case to date.
Shanahan's house is broken into, and his wife is kidnapped during a botched attempt to kill him to prevent him from testifying in a trial against a cartel connected drug dealer.
With Shanahan proving difficult to kill after a couple more ill conceived attempts, Reece is taken off the case, and works to solve it anyway as bodies are accumulating as "Lucky" starts preparing for his departure from the states forever.

A good, fast paced story with lots of action.

If You Hurt Her

This is the first Reece Cannon book I have read. I like crime mysteries and enjoy reading about strong women. While I mean no disrespect, I did not grasp the fact Reece was the main protagonist. I am not sure why, but I felt Shannon was.

The story line was good as far as Jesse being kidnapped & possibly, dead. But, there were too many other things also going on and because of that the story didn’t flow.

I will read another Reece Cannon book in hopes some of the afore mentioned will have been addressed.

Ugh

I am an avid reader. Always have a book nearby. This is probably the worse book I've ever read. Simple plot, trying to appear complicated by adding more and more characters with each chapter. All the good guys and the bad guys do is chase each other in circles. Stupid, just plain dumb

I truly enjoyed this book with all the twists and turns. I thought I had caught the culprit a couple of times but was wrong. I loved the characters, the danger, the scary situations and as I came to the ending I am now going to order the next book in this series.
I like your writing Paul so keep your books coming.

Meh, simple, predictable story and mostly written around dialogue with very little character development. I didn't know it was set in southern Arizona, where I grew up. Throwing names of towns around as to where they're headed in their search didn't confuse me but I would think others unfamiliar with Arizona would be very confused. It didn't add anything to the storyline at all.

Thos keeps you on the dark for most of thebook!

Reece and Shanahan make a great pair of detective until they are accused of helping to abduct Shanahans wife and being involved in a cocaine distribution ring. They must prove their innocence and find Jesse- Shanahans wife. Keeps you guessing who the bad guy really is

Ok story

As a fan of mystery and crime novels I expected a lot from this book. Unfortunately the plot was mediocre, characters shallow, and most off putting the language and grammar was very disappointing to say the least.

This series started off SO good. I like Shanahan taking on this new dilemma involving his wife. He waited a long time to be happy and this is loaded with drama. A very good plot. Once again the author creates the right amount of gun fighting and real crime.

Intense, gripping but heartening

Murder, drug dealers and kidnapping. Good police work, unrelenting leads to the killer. After almost all the drug dealers were killed, but not because they were dealing.

I am very disappointed as I typically like this author. However, I think the characters acted so irresponsible that I just couldn't care about what happened. I will read this author again but perhaps not anymore of this series.

Great police thriller

This book kept you on your toes until the end. Lots of suspense and action. The main character Reece was a very determined character. Couldn't believe who the bad guy turned out to be. Would definitely recommend this author.

Nothing against the book. Just not my type. Seemed a little disjointed in the beginning so I didn't finish it.
