I write mainly dark, disturbing, sometimes racy thrillers. My other novels are murder tales. Someone told me that "I write with a scalpel rather than a pen The pacing. The perversion. The no-BS delivery. It’s rare to find an author willing to lean fully into the darkness of power, seduction, and consequence the way you do, without softening the edges." I used to be an English Butler for almost 25 years, and it was those experiences that inspired me to start writing. Raised in a small town called Shaw, which is in the north eastern part of Greater Manchester, UK. I moved to the USA in 1994 after meeting and marrying my wife Debbie in Redwood City. Now retired, I live just north of Redding in Northern California but I wake up early at the weekends to watch English football!

When a young boy fishing with his grandfather discovers a woman’s torso, Detective Julie Morales is assigned to uncover the victim’s identity and track down the killer. As she investigates, she juggles smaller crimes and personal challenges, adding depth to the story. With engaging storytelling and a compelling cast of characters, this sequel to Stone Dead in Rio Vista offers suspense, twists, and an immersive mystery. Fans of crime fiction will find it an engrossing and satisfying read.
Julie Morales is a police officer in the small town of Rio Vista. When a gruesome murder is discovered, it’s left to her and her partner to solve the crime. I didn’t realize this wasn’t the first in the series when I purchased it, but it turned out to be a great stand alone. I had no problems with following the plot or the characters—which by the way are fleshed out and well-developed. I enjoyed the read and recommend it for folks who like small town murder mysteries, police procedurals and women sleuths. Kick back and enjoy.
Peter C Bradbury write murder mystery books. His book A killing in Rio Vista is extension of his previous and popular novel Stone Dead in Rio Vista. His very strong introduction inside book is very engaging and great introduction for a story. He is using older man who is going on fishing with his grandson. This way he introduces plot of book which is small city in California and how its changed with time. Once he gets fishing he is finding body of unrecognisable woman so story is turning inside detective crime scene investigator story. As far as I enjoyed story it was a beat heavy for my stomach to digest so Bradbury liked to write detailed murder scene what again for someone would be very interesting. On the other hand I like small town intrigue, people secrets and life of families which is so relatable to each of us. Great book….Great read.
