I’m on the run. . . from my family.
That’s what happens when your father is a murderous asshole.

My mother was a mobster's daughter until he killed her and my grandfather, before pinning their deaths on me.

Alone in a small town away from everyone I've ever known, I don’t exactly have many friends.

Until I met them.

Three devastatingly sexy werewolves caught me stealing from their store

And instead of killing me, took me in.

Now my brother’s caught in my father’s crosshairs, and he’s the only family I care about.

I have to go back.

Take down the club.

Take down my father.

And save my brother.

But I’m not doing it alone.

Disappointed

This story had some serious potential based on the blurb. However it was poorly written and is in need of a series read through by an editor.
With a re write, adding some character development and a proper edit this book has the potential to be much better

Nice Start

What an interesting start to a new series. We meet Joselyn as she being forced to run after being blamed for the death of her mother and grandfather. Her vindictive evil father didn't help any. While on the run she meets a wolf pack. Her mate is part of the pack though who may be up for debate as things get complicated. This doesn't matter so much to her when her past catches up to her leading her back into danger at the cliff hanger ending. An intriguing world that keeps you interested as the story plays out. I really liked it so I give it 4/5 stars.

If you read the previous draft do yourself a favor and re-read. The author took her time and made this story an epic one!

The characters are amazing, Joslyn is a bad@ss FMC that everyone needs to read about.

The steamy scenes are fire and the guys are epic!

I didn’t see that cliffhanger coming but I am so ready for the next book!!!

I was so excited to read this book and waited patiently fof the release date, unfortunately it was a disappointment. I tried to get into the story but it seemed to jump. There really was no substance to it. I will not be reading the next instalment which is a shame as I had high hopes for this series.

Really good

I enjoyed this book quite a bit. Joslyn is a great character that I immediately liked from start to end. She is forced from her home and ends up in the same place as the guys, the werewolves. She will figure out a way to get her revenge and save the only family she cares about with the guys by her side. Just couldn't put this down and I really cant wait for the next book

DNF - quit at 59%
The book had a slow flow, & the characters are not memorable, just flat. Nothing about them had me caring about the story. I had to force myself to keep going, as I was ready to quit by the 15% point. There’s really no world building, & I felt like I missed a previous novella or something that may of had it in it, to pull the Biker/Italian Mob/Paranormal world together -that the author was attempting to create in this book. And I didn’t actually see bikers or mob elements at all (just told they are there), though there are vampires and werewolves & something called UN (& that was never explained though implied in the Paranormal world). I believe there were too many elements forced together to be able to blend the lines & make this work. Also, the blurb did not match the 59% that I did read, there was no theft, no reverse harem (at most - a love triangle).

This read like a rough draft. And clearly this author needs to get a good content editor or a team of beta readers & proof readers for this book, if not all her writings. This was a hot mess of problems. This was way to full of issues for a published book, every page I turned had numerous mistakes. (I’m not the first reviewer to point this out, either) The plot holes were definitely a detriment & too many of them -to make the story work. You can’t just throw things into the plot without any explanations or reasons just trying to make a story work (just 2 of the many-many plot holes- a box is delivered with her mother’s ring, but no explanation of what the ring means, why it’s important -but she’s freaking out over the ring like somebody threw a smoke bomb at her, or why nobody besides me is freaking out that the box was delivered to her when there shouldn't be knowledge she was there with the wolves; or a flash drive is mysteriously put on her bedroom window in the middle of the night, but nobody questions why that happened or even worried that there’s a security issue of some stranger leaving stuff on window sills in the middle of the night, only interest in the clue that was left for her to be one step closer to solve her mother’s murder. Come on, readers are smart, they need answers & for the story to make sense, or why waste our time reading...) Between the numerous plot holes & the mistakes, they pulled me out of the story -enough to finally give up & quit the book & decide to never read books from this author in the future. I totally regret wasting my time on this, but at least I didn’t waste money getting this with KindleUnlimited.

At my age (approaching 60), life is way too short & my time is too important to force myself to read a book I'm not enjoying, especially when there are so many other books out there waiting to be read.

ONE SUSPENSE-FILLED LANDSLIDE!!!
Leaping lizards! Imani unleashes this skillfully composed crème de la crème, with such exuberance and intensity, laying out one thrilling storyline and gripping plot, wrapping this baby up sleek shiny and tight. Quirky mishaps and surprising happenstance, showcase the taxing trials and challenging tribulations, stumbling through the crazy twists and wicked turns, testing them in ways they never saw coming. Shattering boundaries and despensing lines, imparting the strengths and weaknesses being weighed and balanced, kicking this gem into the eye of the storm, breaking it down, slamming it into overdrive, launching it into a hissy with a life-altering culmination. Shenanigans, chaos and mayhem rule the roost displaying the drama, anxiety, intrigue, animosity, danger, mounting suspense and intense situations along with a boatload of underlying threats, you have one jaw dropping adventure. Bearing the burdens and defeating foes presenting this action packed, hard hitting, pulse racing, heart pounding, adrenaline pumping, page flipping, block busting page flipping bombshell, blasting this baby to life beautifully. The attraction and chemistry sizzles from the pages and suck you in so deeply until you feel the heat and electricity thrumming through your veins. The characters are complex and genuine with traits and qualities that add depth and realism, blend and flow transforming into relatable personalities. The scenes are strikingly sharp with abundant details and descriptions that feel as though you were transported to ground zero with them. Remarkable job Imani, thanks for sharing this lil' fella with us.

It’s the start of a reverse harem series. I normally don’t get into Reverse Harem nor wolf shifters, despite my husband’s association with wolves. He likes to be alpha (LOL). But I love a well-written fantasy.

Amazingly enough, Save Me is not about a white knight rescuing the wilting princess. It is about what true love should be: people helping each other become better persons. Or in this case, helping each other getting revenge. Whatever floats your boat...

Roslyn is my kind of gal: smart, knows survivability tactics in the urban jungle, and admits when she needs help. She is no wilting flower but a mafia princess, aka. Capable Killer. Eeks. Normally she doesn’t kill, and she is on the run from her dad’s dominance and betrayal.

Enter the wolves. Storm, Ash, and Shadow are also on the run from humans. They are searching for new territory and are in a bind, now limited to deserts and urban tundra. Yeeks. The only thing that saves them is a driving need to keep the pack going.

The vampires as side characters are seriously my favorite part. The romance is sweet and sexy, but I completely disliked any tying up of body parts. I am not into sado-maso s**t. But it remains sweet, so I could not fault it. I just could not see an alpha female allowing this, no matter how secure.

The action is great. If you like a shorter novelette, this can tie up your weekend in a happy way.

Confused and irritated.

Starting with the meat of the book, formatting is all over the place (some paragraphs have indents to start, some have spaces after, some have both), typos and grammar issues are sprinkled throughout the book, and point of view is inconsistent and hard to follow at times. This book is also marked as RH when it’s only a love triangle.

For the story, I liked the book description which is why I picked it up in the first place, but it’s incredibly misleading leaning towards false. Says the lead meets the wolves after stealing from them. This never actually happened. My kindle said I was 90% through the book before it ever mentioned stealing and at that point she’d met the whole pack.

The lead lady comes of as cocky and fickle... to be frank I really don’t like her. Also, the other pack members added nothing to the story, neither did the third brother.

I forced myself to finish this book and I shouldn’t have as I feel it was a waste of time and energy. I apologize if this review comes off poorly written/thought out, but I gave this book enough of my energy and if it could save someone else that’s all that matters. I’m baffled how someone could give this a glowing review as is. It feels like there are two versions of this book out there or something as the one I read needs a massive overhaul.

A mafia princess gets mixed up with a group of shifters who had a really bad experience with her family and just want to lay low. This is a fated mates #whychoose and does get steamy in parts. There are two main story lines going on - the conflict with the mafia and the relationship between Joslyn and the three brothers. Just as the conflict was about to really blow up the book ended. I had mixed feeling about that - OTOH, I was glad it wasn't a rushed ending because it felt like it was building up to something way bigger than what there was time for in the book. OTOH - I hate cliff hangers like that!

The writing style is engaging and well paced. It is a short read and the characters are just starting to get fleshed out at this stage. Definitely potential for the series. There were a few typos and plot inconsistencies, enough that I think this would have benefited from a run through by an editor, but not so much that it pulled me out of the story.

This is the first book in a new series that is a companion series to the Nightborne Renegades. While it is a shared universe (welcome back to Alamogordo), the two series are at this point completely independent.

Murder, Mafia and Mates

Rating 3.5
A night joslyn can't forget leads to her running from her family and hanging out in a vamp bar. She thinks she finds somewhere safe but nowhere is safe when the mafia and a MC are after you. I found the characters very interesting and they made me want to learn more about them.

There were a couple of things that could use work. There was an weird progression between ch. 12 and 13 that I had to reread. Felt like it missed out on some dialogue between the transitions. I was alittle confused on if the FMC had training or not. She fought like she did but maybe it was more like a learn from doing not being taught thing. Maybe we will learn more about this in the next book.

This book featured an interesting change up but it just made me interested in what will happen. Something tells me he will be back. Something tells me in the next book they are going to have to band together.

The sneek peek at the end of the book features Davina who we briefly meet in ch. 1...I'm interested to see how she ended up at a vamp bar

Intriguing Read

I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Save Me was a good story that I enjoyed reading from the beginning. I admit that it does need to have another read through to fix some of the issues where words are missing or are not the proper word, but aside from that, the story was good. I wish that there was more to the story and the Reverse Harem, since so far it hasn’t been much of a reverse Harem like suggested but I figure the next book will expand on that.

The main character was a strong, independent woman who was dealing with a family who was out to end her and she ends up meeting Storm, a wolf who is drawn to her because of his wolf wanting her.

I wanted to give this book 4 stars but the issues I had found within the story brought it to a 3 star because there were a lot of issues and some of them left me thoroughly confused and wishing I knew what the author was trying to say at that point.

Save Me is Book 1 in the Shifting Allegiance series by Imani L Hawking. The world building is awesome and the character development is superb with wonderful and interesting individuals. Joslyn is a bada$$ who does what's needed to stay ahead of her family who are pursuing her for a murder she did not commit. Love how she met Storm, Ash and Shadow who are more than willing to help her prove her innocence and get revenge as they want revenge of their own. Became so engrossed in the story couldn't put it down, time flew by and the end came to soon. Was surprised by the cliffhanger ending and am now anxious for the next in series to see where Imani takes Joslyn and her wolves. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and highly recommend it. Received a free ARC from the author and this is my voluntary and honest review.

Joselyn was a mafia princess - on her mother's side - and the daughter of a murderous head of a motorcycle gang on her father's side. She hated her father. He killed her mother and grandfather and blamed her for the acts. She ran away, knowing he would kill her if she stayed. The only one she cared about was her brother, but he thought she had committed the murders. Unfortunately, leaving didn't fix things and numerous thugs were sent to kill her. They didn't survive. She found herself cornered in a small town and found unexpected help from three gorgeous looking werewolves, to whom she was attracted. To all of them. If she was to be free, she had to go back and finish things with her father. The wolves wouldn't let her go on her own.

DNF at 40%. Joslyn is framed for her mother and grandfather’s murders. Her brother turns his back on her yet the blurb says she’ll go back to save him which makes no sense as in the prologue it mentions how much the brother looks up to the Dad. The inconsistencies don’t stop there. Blurb says she is caught stealing from the wolves’ store yet she meets Storm in a bar and then at the pack massage parlor (really?!?). Clearly her Dad know where she is as two of his goons trail her yet she is still running around. Last irritation that made me throw in the towel - she barely knows Storm who tells her that they dug into her past and thinks she killed her mom/grandfather and she just tells him her whole life story.

Minimal, world building and lots of plot holes.

Summary:

Jocelyn has spent months gathering evidence to convince her younger brother that their father is abusive and murderous (all before start of book). She is hiding among vampires when a werewolf discovers her and feels the mate bond. Evidently, so does his beta and omega when they see her.. as they heal her wounds in their home. She makes a plot to save her brother, when her evil step mother shows up and throws things for a loop. But she recovers quickly and goes after her father.. but before she can her mates find her, accept her dark side and help her.

The writing is alright, but it has a lot more potential.

An exceptionally good beginning
“Save Me” is a captivating tale with paranormals, an MC, and the Mafia. The storyline is fast pace, emotionally deep, action-pack, exciting, and well written with danger, suspense, secrets, humor, and twists. Joslyn, a mafia and MC princess, is accused of murdering her mother and grandfather by her lying, abusive and evil father who is the prez of an MC and possible new leader of the mafia. Joslyn runs so that she can find the proof that her father murdered her mother. This steamy tale will keep you on the edge of your seat until the cliffhanger ending. Definitely recommended!

This was a good book but I felt it lacked content and character building at times. It would have benefitted being more descriptive and slightly longer. Overall the book is well written and the story and characters were relatively well developed. I liked the female characters individual personality and enjoyed the character dynamics. The story was good. It had action, suspense, emotion, intrigue and hot chemistry. I look forward to reading the next book in this series! I would recommend this short read!

NB: This book has a cliffhanger like ending.

I received an arc for a voluntary review.

I really loved this book! The characters and the world building are fabulous! I was so wrapped up in Joslyn's story I couldn't put it down until I'd finished it, but I didn't see that cliffhanger coming!
I'm really looking forward to reading more books in this series. I desperately want to find out what happens next and I also want to know more about the world and stories from other characters in the world.
I highly recommend this book and the series as well as Imani Hawkins!

A good plot

I think I enjoyed the premise of this book more than I enjoyed the book itself. Here we have a kick ass FMC who is out to get revenge on her father for killing her mother and we were also promised 3 werewolves. Well... that didn't happen quite the way it was promised.

Although the idea behind the book was great, there were more than a few spelling and grammar issues that interrupted the flow and where some parts seemed to drag, other parts were way too rushed.

All in all, I loved the concept and it was a good short read

Great plot!!! 🤩
Ok I read the book again with the updated version and now I can say it was a great read, action-packed, intense, fast paced, with a fantastic plot and amazing characters 💞
Joslyn is a badass, determined, strong willed woman, who won't stop until she gets her name clean and avenge her mother and grandpa's death 💪👊♀️
The wolfs, yummy, I prefer Storm but she can have both if she wants, even the three of them 😉😍
Now my only complaint is that the book is to short, as I need more of this story after that cliffhanger, oh God, gimme the next book NOW!!! ❤️

What an excellent story. It is one that so much drama and action. It is well written in the version I read and the characters are stunningly beautiful. Joslyn is magnificent in all her glory. She is a kick butt and take names later kind of gal. She is feisty and strong. Storm, Ash, and Shadow add so much to the story with their rough and tough attitudes. It is a story that will keep you engaged and unable to put it down. It does end in a cliffhanger and I was so ready for more action but boy does that allow me to see more. It is definitely a must read and doesn’t disappoint!!!!!

Mafia, MCs, and Werewolves...Oh boy!

The story line is good. Mafia princess on the run because her father is a rotten SOB. Joslyn is surviving and biding her time while gathering evidence and planning to take down her treacherous father. She doesn’t plan on meeting werewolf brothers Ash, Storm, and Shadow. The pull Joslyn feels to Ash and Storm has her conflicted. The feelings are very different but welcome.

This first installment of the series has a good plot and storyline, but grammar issues kept me from getting completely sucked into the story.

Shifter Reverse Harem

Sadly this wasn’t for me. Also there are some parts that need to be revised because they are confusing or don’t make sense. Like hear hands were tied yet she was touching Ash still. Also ending of chapter 12 going into the beginning chapter 13 don’t flow together it seems like one was supposed to be cut because in the end of chapter 12 she slaps Ash and runs away from him and in the beginning of chapter 13 she’s holding hands with him walking home together.

This is book one of the Shifting Allegiance series and I found it enjoyable. Mafia princess, Joslyn, is accused of murdering her mother and grandfather by her abusive father. She’s been on the run gathering evidence so she can prove that her father murdered her mother. While hiding among the vampires she meets werewolves, Storm, Ash, and Shadow. She feels a connection to them that she didn’t expect. This story was exciting and filled with intrigue, action, suspense, and chemistry . I’m looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

I am loving the start of this new series!! Joslyn is the MC in this book and she is on the run from her father after he turned on her blaming her for murdering her mom and grandpa. She is trying to pile evidence to prove herself innocent and to get her brother away from their father. She ends up in a small town surrounded by some familiar characters!!
Well enter a small wolf shifter pack and looks like she is not alone in getting revenge! I can’t wait for book 2 after that ending.

The blurb and the cover are what drew me and I can say, would love to reread after the author re-edits.

Such a great blurb without a doubt but the story itself, needs a lot of work in editing. The story line seemed to be a continuation as if from another series and leaves you feeling as if you missed reading another book before this one ( like a prologue ).
The FC was great and so were the males . So I can’t wait to read what’s to come next.

I really enjoyed this story. It included four of my favorite things in stories, motorcycle gangs, mafia families, shifters, and my personal favorite, a reverse harem. I was stuck to this story as soon as I started it. It was so exciting but does end in a sort of cliff-hanger so I will definitely be checking out the next book in the series to see what happens next. It was also a little steamy at parts. I received a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest review when I completed it.

Joslyn father accuses her of her mother and grandfathers death. Not even her brother will help her. She runs but plans on returning to avenge her mothers death. She is a survivor. No matter how many men her father sends after her, she always has the better hand. She meets Storm at a bar run by vampires.  When 2 goons attack her, he come and saves her. This book may be fast and leave you with a cliffhanger but it was a good read with some kick butt action scenes.

Recommend reading.
