Dante Romano has enough smokin' hot sex appeal to turn the head of almost every woman around. Known as the ladies’ man of the Black Mesa Wolf Pack, he always let swaggering confidence mask an endless struggle to control his feral inner wolf. The safest thing for him would be to stay single forever—if only he didn't know down to his tail that a certain strong-willed, sexy female wolf shifter is his mate. The mate he can’t let go of, even though he knows he must.

Every time Carmen Delacruz thinks about Dante, she gets so turned on she almost loses her damned mind. That red-hot wolf could make an angel sin, with his dark chocolate eyes and those talented lips and hands. Not to mention he stole her heart years ago, ruining her for any other man. But his arrogant manner and his dangerously primitive, possessive wolf drove the self-reliant Carmen up the wall so many times, she finally walked away from him—for good.

But Carmen isn’t so sure she can live without Dante. Because not only does she know the bossy, seductive, untamed man is her mate, she also knows she might be the only one who can save him from his own savage wolf.

To the reader: This story is filled with hawt times, sexy romance, and the secret world of wolf shifters. If you love shifters, small towns, and the power of wild love to always triumph in the end, this story is for you.

I just wanted to bang their heads together.
These two needed an intervention in the worst way and finally they get one but this ridiculous behaviour has been going on for years.
Having an ON/OFF relationship and I will say I was truly mad at the fact these two “MATES”, had sex with others whenever they broke up and were separated. Just a big no for me.
The constant upheaval, the too and froing was annoying, juvenile and repetitive.
I understood the problem pretty quickly.
Carmens wolf was smarter than she was and Dante’s wolf kept trying to get across what he needed to settle but Dante was too stupid to understand that he was the one causing the problem, by not asking or acknowledging that Carmen is his mate.
Carmen I especially found weak. She just couldn’t step up and be strong for Dante, she didn’t understand that his undealt with grief was the core of his wolfs needing to protect behaviour.
Unfortunately the human sides were pretty hard headed, uncommunicative, and spent to much time in a sexual haze. Either thinking about it or doing it.
So though it was great to get back to the Black Mesa Wolf pack, this book just wasn’t that impressive.
I understand what Ms Harper was trying to do, but for me, it just didn’t work.

If i ever wanted to knock two peoples heads together it would be these two!!!
Dante and Carmen are members from the Black Mesa Wolves Pack. They are each others mates, they cant stay apart but they dont ever get anywhere in a relationship for a couple of reasons.
Dante is scared his wolf is out of control so he pushes Carmen away with his dominating ways but he only does it to protect the only woman he has ever loved. She is the only woman who has seen the softer side of him. The kitten whisper. But when they are together the chemistry is obscene. Its electric and they find it hard to breathe in each others company.
Carmen Loves Dante and she really struggles to keep her hands to herself when he is about. She has to openly fight with her wolf who is shouting MATE! MATE! MATE!!!!! But Carmen can see the struggles he is having with his wolf and she wants more. She wants to be claimed but he has never shown an interest only that a night of fun.
OMG Please let me knock their heads together!!! WoW was this book frustrating lol I wanted them to just tell each other as soon as the book started but that would make for a very very short book lol. It was heart breaking to watch them both struggle with their inner thoughts. I really liked both charaters and relly really enjoyed this book another great book from J K Harper.

Carmen Delacruz and Dante Romano are mates, though neither will give in and admit it! They have sporadically been in a relationship over a decade, yet neither declared how they felt or what they wanted. Dante knows his wolf is just about out of control and he struggles with his temper; he doesn’t feel he would be a good mate. Carmen doesn’t like how he is so domineering and arrogant so she leaves him again.

Without his mate to calm him down, Dante is having an even worse time of it to the point that the Alpha is considering exile from the pack if he doesn’t take care of the problem. Their wolves are aware that they are mates – following through with that would be the solution. Will the human part of them ever discuss how they feel and stop being so stubbornly pig-headed? Carmen knows how he makes her feel, but if she won’t accept him as her mate, she may lose him forever to his savage wolf!

I love shifter stories and this one was great! The wolves both knew the truth, right up front, but their over-thinking human halves just couldn’t figure it all out! Someone has to break the pattern and take a positive step – but which one will it be? Or will they continue to suffer until it’s too late to fix it?

Dante Romano and Carmen de la Cruz had always known that they were mates, but their relationship had been difficult plagued by unresolved issues that kept them in an unhealthy situation. Carmen valued her independence and rejected Dante's arrogance and lack of control and despite the strong attraction between them, Carmen feared what might happen. Interesting Dante's internal struggle with his emotions that did not let him recognize what was affecting him both physically and emotionally. Sad that he had not had enough insight to put in order his thoughts before. Liked how all packmates helped to deal with Dante’s situation. Action, suspense, strong characters, supportive secondary characters, strong emotions, amusing scenes, some violence, romance and passion. Voluntarily reviewed this interesting and entertaining copy that I received free from Booksprout.

Dante was close to going feral so he refuses to acknowledge that Carmen is his mate.
Black Mesa Wolf Pack member Dante Romano knows his wolf is close to going feral so he shy's away from the commitment of a mate but his wolf knows who his mate is and struggles for control when around her. Wolf shifter Carmen Delacruz has had an on again off again relationship with Dante for years until a few months before she broke up with him and refused to answer any of his calls but every time she sees him her wolf goes crazy wanting to mate with him. When she does sees him he torments her with sexual innuendo but she also can find no interest in any other. Keeping him at arms length is a constant battle with her wolf but one that she also wants to lose and have her mate claim her.

Once again we are with the wolves of the Black mesa pack and this time we get Dante Romano story he was adopted by the pack when his own parents where killed but this wolf shifter is on a borderline of been exiled from the pack His wolf is slowly going feral and nothing seems to be able to control it the only time it settles at all his when Carmen Delacruz is near These two have dated on and off for a number of years in fact since they where both at school but with his wolf the way it is he knows he needs to stay away from her even if he knows that she is his mate. Carmen knows that he is her mate and she has tried to stay away but has he gets closer and closer to the edge she knows that she will need to step in to help him or that is what her wolf tells her Maybe this time the wolf side of them knows far more than what their human side does

Carmen and Dante have an on/off affair going on. Dante recognizes Carmen as his mate, yet refuses to claim her. Carmen recognizes Dante as her mate, but doesn't say anything to him.
This was confusing to me as the reader. The chemistry between the two is hot, which increased my frustration. That they seemed to want to be together but could not seem to get out of their own way.
The secondary characters did their part to try to bring these two together. I guess wolves are stubborn. I wanted Dante to be more vocal with Carmen about what he needed and vice versa.
Despite the back and forth the pace of the story is quick.
This book is enjoyable. Just know you might be tempted to yell at your kindle, or toss it.

boss lady

Savage Wolf is book eight in the series Black Mesa Wolves by author J.K. Harper. Ok so I have a confession- I haven’t read the previous books at least not all - and my OCD is killing me!! But as soon as I have time I will.
Ok anywho, WOW this tale is amazing- you have these characters who know - well they know what they know- but are fighting it tooth and claw. They must learn to just let it be. Along the way some questions will be answered and the issue of the Rogues comes back into play.
Savage Wolf is spicy - deliciously so, which just adds to the whole picture of the storyline.
Enjoy!!

Another book in Black Mesa Wolves, this is a great series about a strong pack in the Durango CO area. This beautiful area is brought to life by the discipline of the author, she makes me feel as if I am there. I have family in Durango and love spending time there when I can and this story makes me feel as if I just visited.
Dante and Carmen have dated off and on since high school 10 years ago, they are mates but won't admit it. There on again off again relationship has taken its toll. This is their story and it is messy and hot, tender and angry while they try to move forward.

Dante's parents were killed by a rogue wolf pack - and although he has bee accepted into the Black Mesa pack, he has trouble controlling his wolf - especially iof Carmen is around. He knows she is his mate, but she has walked away from him - again.
Carmen's wolf knows that Dante is her mate - but her human half is fighting it. Will Luke Rawlings be able to help? Dante hates him - it was part of his old pack hwho were the rogues - but Luke has changed - can Dante accept that, or will he lose his pack as well as his mate? I love this series!

Savage Wolf is another fabulous addition to J.K. Harper’s Black Mesa Wolves, which follows the loves and losses of this imposing pack, and is set in the majestic setting of Durango, CO. This is a story of denial; Dante and Carmen know they are mates, but neither want to admit the irrefutable truth, even though they have been an on again/off again couple for nearly a decade. Tension, pig-headedness, anger and angst go hand in hand with sizzling attraction and some heart-melting tender moments too while these obstinate wolves find their HEA; hopefully before they kill each other! A thoroughly enjoyable story that fits perfectly into this captivating series.

They need to listen to their wolves. Carmen and Dante have had an on again off again relationship for ten years. Carmen leaves him because of his domineering tendencies and his just under the skin violence. But he’s been getting worse and is in danger of being exiled from the pack. And then Dante does something that might just be the last straw. Neither of them has ever declared their love for each other and he has never claimed her as his mate. But their wolves know, so maybe their wolves are smarter than their human sides. They need to start listening before it’s too late. I love reading about the Black Mesa Wolves. This is a great story! I didn’t want it to end. I couldn’t wait to see what happened next with Carmen and Dante. They have been on-again, off-again for years. Carmen finally broke it complete months before but fate has another plan. Dante is slowly losing control. He doesn’t believe that he can be her mate even if his wolf is begging for it. Carmen’s wolf is trying to convince her of this truth as well. Will their human halves finally listen to their wolf halves?

Dante and Carmen are pack mates and have been a couple on and off for more than 10 years, but something stops them from going the final step to mate properly, despite their wolves telling them that the other is their mate.
The story starts at a critical point after the 10 year mark. Dante becomes more and more unstable, because he is not mated and Carmen broke up with him again, because he is getting too volatile for her.
This is their story of finally getting together to mate.
Interesting and entertaining, but for my personal taste a little too much talk about the sexual attraction between them

Compelling

Mates that just cant keep together and cant stay apart … a different romance that is sometimes more like a battle between enemies than lovers . No sweet babies in this book but the cutest kittens ever to help you fall in love . Very fast paced and hot hot hot with fear and fun in equal mixes and lots of lessons to learn for these Black mesa wolves . This is part of a series but very easy to read as a stand alone if you haven't yet read any of the earlier books

Carmen and Dante have been lovers over and over for many years. They are crazy about each other but can't be mates, even though they are. Carmen feels that Dante is too controlling but he only wants to protect her. Trouble is brewing because Dante's wolf is out of control. He is trying to take over all of the time and is on the edge of becoming feral. If that happens Dante will be kicked out of the Black Mesa pack. A beautiful woman. A gorgeous man. Wolf shifters. Dominance. Such hot attraction. A dangerous wolf. And a very strong alpha. Wonderful book. I loved it.

This well written book 8 in the Black Mesa Wolves Series was intriguing as it had some very well-thought out scenes and story plots. These characters have very strong wills and personalities and their interactions are believable. This wonderful story has the following: intrigue, twists and turns, adventure, action, danger, love, steam and a HEA. It is a fast-paced, good shifter book that will keep you engaged from start to finish. I will be on the lookout for books and series by this author

carmen and Dante have been on a relationship for 10 years , but she decides to leave him because of his domineering and controlling tendencies , which was ready to explode to the the surface. Dante is trying to keep it under control before he goes feral . Its a race against time so to speak , Yes they are each others mates but yet are denying each other because its very deadly. I really like this story. and I highly recommend it

this is my first time reading this author and her shifter books and I absolutely liked them. Carmen and Dante dated on and off but since his wolf was getting out of hand she ended it all. She didn't want to be strung on and her wolf wanted to mate but she denied her and her wolf but when dante is struggling to handle his wolf what will the alpha pack leader do to him?

This is a great addition to the Black Mesa Wolves series. The author does a fantastic job bringing strong characters in Dante and Carmen who have had an on again off again relationship.
