More Than Everything

Rate this book
Some things even a billionaire can't buy.

Dalton Raines always gets what he wants, and the first time he steps into Superbia Springs, he knows he wants to buy it. There's only one thing standing in his way: Noah.

For the first time in his life, Noah Turnstock felt safe, living with his friends in the old mansion they'd inherited. Finally he's in a place no one can take away from him.

Until the house catches Dalton's eye.

Dalton knows the way to get Noah on his side. He knows how to wine and dine a man like this, to get him so wrapped up he'll agree to anything. Except...he's never run into anyone like Noah before.

It was supposed to be seduction. Then it turned into something more.

When a visitor from Noah's past shows up, he realizes he will never be accepted into Dalton's life. And when Dalton's family meets Noah, their reaction could lose Dalton everything.

They can't have each other. They're from different worlds. But their hearts say otherwise. Their hearts say they can have everything they want.

I like writing about boys with TERRIBLE PROBLEMS who nonetheless manage to find love. But seriously, terrible problems. Like, dude, get some therapy before you go on this date.

Noah and Dalton

Dalton wants something Noah doesn’t want to give away. A mansion, a beautiful place. Home means HOME to Noah, something he never had.
With all the money Dalton offers he can’t have it. He has other ways, he will wrap Noah around his finger with charm and attention. Misjudging fragile Noah is foolish. Who gets wrapped around whose finger?

A quite romantic story, where a billionaire has all the feelings for a poor guy.
It started calculated but fast it was all about feelings.
A billionaire with all the right qualities for business but also feel for life. The opposite is Noah who has his own look at the world.
Dedication from friends, family matters, and hard businesses, all past by.
Overall a steady paced, nicely written, quite satisfying story with lovely personalities.

If anyone of you guys are reading this series, I hope you all are with me in that that witch Violet needs taking down. And quick. I’m about sick of her. But other than that heifer, it was kind of like a fairy tale story. The prince falling for the pauper but having trouble because his family thinks the pauper isn’t good enough.
I hurt for Noah in this. Yeah, he grew up very dirt poor. Often having to live out of his car. Being bullied and beaten for it. But he had his mom, until she met the wrong man, and suddenly things for Noah got worse. Until he met his now best friends, the Cooper boys. So when it came to leaving where he was to help them start the reopening of the hot springs Liam inherited, he hesitated at first and then realized that this was his dream. But his and the Cooper’s dream were about to be taken away in one way or another. They thought they may have the backing of the grant money from the Raines charity, but when the Raines brothers came for themselves, it started a chain of events that just became disastrous. Noah felt used by Dalton, Dalton’s brother was undermining everything at every turn, especially with their father, and the hope of having this beautiful place was being destroyed at the gleeful expression of Violet. But one thing Dalton realized from being with Noah, is that because of Noah, he’s found his passion for life again. But if he doesn’t finally make a stand, he’s going to lose it all. And Noah and his friends will lose it all as well.
You know, I don’t envy rich people. I really don’t. I don’t want to be filthy rich. I never did. I just want to have enough money where I could breathe for 5 minutes or more, without wondering if I’m going to be homeless or not. Being in Noah’s shoes in my lifetime, I never want that again. But you have to look at it from both sides. Noah is ashamed of where he came from because of all the bullying and beatings and such. He probably wouldn’t have noticed their situation quite as bad if not for that. I mean yeah, he knows, because he knows this is not how normal people live. But he had his mom for a while and that seemed to make it ok. But everything else, made it worse. But then you have Dalton’s side. Yeah, he has all the money in the world, or so it seems. He could quit now and still live quite comfortably for the rest of his life. But at what cost. A domineering father, a manipulative brother who cares for nothing but money and stop at nothing to get his way, and a life where he does nothing but work. No fun, no boyfriends, no nothing. Just work, work, work. And a lot of grief if he doesn’t work. So it’s a tossup, honestly, who has it worse. I mean yeah, Noah does to a point, because by being rich, Dalton isn’t really bullied, BUT his life is scrutinized and gossiped on. Every part of his life. So yeah, it’s a toss up. And I felt for them both when they finally felt like they had someone that saw them, but they were being torn apart.
It’s a heartfelt story. It comes with some decisions that are not easy and quite hurtful. Yes, it has an HEA, but it takes work to get there. Which is true with any relationship. But these guys are lovable and Noah is a pistol. And he’s one you definitely want to hug and often because of what he’s been through. It’s a good story. I’m just waiting for someone to get Violet and her son. They need to be taken out.

Rachel Kane's More Than Everything, the second book in the Superbia Springs series, is fantastic.

Damn! There is disgusting homophobia in this one, right from the start. I was livid and fully invested immediately. Honestly, this is small town life at it's finest, full of controlling townspeople and those who just want to be included.

This story revolves around a mansion and the fight for it's future. And what a complex fight it is. After meeting in opposition of the house's future, Dalton and Noah set upon a relationship of their own.

Not only are Dalton and Noah complete opposites, with vastly different backgrounds, the differences between Dalton and his brother are fabulous. And in the end, Dalton's talk to his brother about what he wants for his future struck me. It's extremely poignant and very touching.

As for the romance, it's definitely sweet and beautiful. The relationship between Dalton and Noah is fantastic. I enjoy the way it develops, as well as the way both men help one another in the end.

The character growth in this book is fantastic. Dalton is a man who has always allowed his family to push him around, and yet in the end, he finds himself. Seeing him discover his passions is wonderful.

The writing is excellent, with intriguing characters and some fabulous character growth. There are plenty of side characters who add to the story, and the hotel is it's own character, fully brought to life by the author.

More Than Everything is a wonderful addition to the Superbia Springs series. It's a wonderful journey towards finding love and a purpose in life. This Rachel Kane book, and series, is perfect for any fan of small town romances.

Despite being total opposites, and getting off to a bad start right from the first meeting, Noah and Dalton still cannot shrug off the pull they feel towards each other. It takes several meetings before they actually get on even somewhat the same page. Once they do, there’s no turning back..even if it could cost them more than they're willing to pay.

This book drew me in, emotionally, from the beginning. Having to witness the town meeting, and the ugliness that is Violet Mulgrew. Small towns always have at least a few small minded people, and she’s their number one. To add insult to injury, she owns so msny buildings in the town that she actually thinks she owns it. I really want to see her comeuppance. Ugh.

Even though this is book two in the series, it can stand alone. As good as this one is, reading the first book would definitely be equally enjoyable. I gathered that Liam and Mason, the only established couple in the book, met in book one, though.

Noah is a little spitfire and Dalton definitely grew on me. I liked them as a couple, and was rooting for them the whole time. Life was not easy for either of them, growing up, despite one growing up wealthy, and the other growing up practically homeless. Despite that, they showed each other support and respect. Hopefully that’s enough to survive the many obstacles in their path.

I enjoyed this book. The writing was good, it was a slow burn, but not in a painful way. It happened organically in the story, and I was more than okay with that. The characters, from minor, to side characters, to the main characters, were all enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this book.

I really loved this book. It's sweet, snarky, witty, sometimes sexy, and quite touching. I even felt a little tightness in my chest, nearly tearing up at one point. It's not subtle in its messages about money not being everything & finding what is important in life, but it still felt well-balanced to me. It's a little fairytale-ish, but not so schmaltzy that I wanted to roll my eyes. It might be poor man meets rich man, but it's not exactly a Cinderella tale.

I enjoyed the characters, the good, the almost over-the-top bad, and the intriguingly in-between. I especially loved Noah, who had some great lines in his inner monologue. I'd quote them here, but they're probably better in context. I also didn't find the story & its character arc totally predictable - sure, I was banking on a happily ever after - but I was not entirely sure about how it would come about.

I read this book without reading the first book and although there was a little bit in the very beginning when I wished I'd read the first book, because I was a little confused on the initial setting and how the main character was related to characters in the previous books, I quickly caught on and it became unnecessary to have had the whole previous book for reference. Of course, now I want to read the previous book & I'm dying for there to be another after this book. (Pretty please, let there be another book to come).

Noah has finally got a sense of home then Dalton comes in and wants to buy it out from under him and his people. But he doesn't come at him aggressively, rather plays on his attraction to him. Will Dalton realize too late his feelings or will his loyalty to his family make him ruin Noah's home?

I really liked Noah and Dalton together - much more than I liked the previous story in this series, Spring Forward. Not only do the two have great chemistry, but the two of them are adorable individually and as a couple. A great secondary cast rounds out the story and makes me want to go back to their world.

How the author tells this story is interesting. The author is also good with descriptors and putting the reader into the scenes with the characters.
I enjoyed seeing how the characters from book one were doing. Especially the baby. I became invested in their lives reading book one and looked forward to book two for more warm and sexy feels. I did not get those in book two.
I had times of laughter and tears, but the deep and sweet emotion wasn’t there for me this time. Sure, they are different characters with different personalities, but I expected more of a connection between them and between them and me.
I was sympathetic with Noah and Dalton up to a point, but after that, they needed to get over themselves, get over the overly belabored past, and join the real world. I didn't like Dalton much, and Noah needs to grow up.
The romance and sexy times (and they were quite sexy) came quickly. I guess it is a form of "insta love" or "insta lust." I'm not too fond of that. I like characters to work for it.
I missed the warm fuzzies from the first book. More Than Everything is a decent read but nowhere near the caliber of the first book.
I'm crossing my fingers for book three.

This is a great second story in the Superbia Springs series. Noah is the out and proud best friend of the Cooper brothers, inheritors of Superbia Springs, in charge of the marketing and social media of the restored venue. When the men in charge of funding the grant they applied for show up unexpectedly Noah is immediately smitten with one of them. Dalton on the other hand, while smitten with Noah as well, falls in love with the house itself. He wants to acquire it for his father to rehab in, and as a billionaire he has the funds to do it. Noah has other plans though and after finding a place to truly belong he won’t give up so easily. Both men see truths the other would prefer to remain hidden. But once feelings get involved will they fight for each other, or let money and family get in the way of what they truly desire...a life with each other. Can Superbia Springs work its magic on another couple? Noah and Dalton are from opposite worlds, but they bring out the best parts of each other, work to heal past hurts and deserve their HEA. I can’t wait to see who gets coupled up in the next book!

Liked it BUT!!!

I liked the story and how it continued on from the first one, but the amount of times it mentioned Dalton was a billionaire was not necessary, sounded like it was the only reason Noah wanted him. It was never about how much Noah loved Dalton it was Dalton was a billionaire. It would of worked better if Noah didn’t make it about him being so poor and Dalton being a billionaire.
Dalton I liked until his younger brother (mind you) told him he couldn’t see Noah anymore and he was not CEO anymore. Like seriously Dalton was older and he should never should of been spoken to like that and he should of walked away. Seriously if you had enough money to last a thousand years what does it matter as long as you were happy and had the love of your life. Anyways as the book was if Dalton walked they would of chased him as he was the company.
In short the whole story was to focused on the billionaire status than the story of love.

Okay, it was obvious that Noah ended up with a billionaire boyfriend because he and the Cooper brothers couldn't have saved the house they fell in love with that Liam had inherited without a large source of money available. To be honest, I often dislike stories that pair really rich people with working class people because the wealth or the powerful connections due to having wealth ends up saving the day, and the actual relationship tends to feel shallow.
In any case, for Noah and his man, it takes a while for their relationship to feel real. You see the lust between them right away but not much more than that. Then they proclaim they're in love before having many real conversations. However, I did like how the interior thoughts of the MCs made them feel more substantial as characters. It was how they were thinking about each other that sold me on their relationship rather than anything they did together though. I wish they had better communication because they had the makings of a solid couple once you got past the surface drama.

In this book we catch up with Noah who was introduced in book one. He’s loud and proud and the major driving force in marketing Superbia Springs. Noah meets his match in Dalton, a sexy billionaire that wants a part of Noah’s new home. The two men are polar opposites and are playing a game with the future of Superbia Springs hanging in the balance. The two men evolve from their surface appearance to become two emotionally complex individuals that bring out the best in one another. Noah finds inner peace and acceptance of himself that brings a beautiful self-confidence to light and Dalton embraces repressed feelings to show a truly deep and loving man. The side characters are amazing, though Colby needs a a bit of enlightenment to get himself in line; I smell and hope for a story of redemption here. A great addition to this series and better than book one.

One of the reasons I enjoy the Superbia Springs books by Rachel Kane so much is I also own a historic house, although mine is older, from 1905. The love the boys have for the house is familiar to me. More than Everything stars our favorite twink Noah who proves he has more depth than I think even he realized. Noah also learns some hard truths about himself. His billionaire match Dalton learns feelings are not fatal and proves money can help buy happiness. The culture clash between these two was fun to watch and I loved how one problem the boys had been dealing with was resolved. While I would not want to live in Superbia, it is entertaining to see it weave its spell over city boys. I’m ready for Judah’s story next! Maybe he’ll be paired with Dalton’s brother, just to keep it all in the family.

In More Than Everything, Book 2 in the Superbia Springs series, the focus is on Noah, who seems like a vacant pretty boy. But, in this story we learn about his less than ideal upbringing and that he has a perceptive mind and shows it when he meets billionaire, Dalton, who wants to buy Superbia Springs. The conversations between Noah and Dalton are a contest of minds.

I enjoyed More Than Everything but there was one thing that it did not sit well with me, one of the MCs being a billionaire! Any time I read the blurb for a book and I see an MC is a billionaire, I do not read it. It is just too fanciful for me. I look forward to Book 3 of Superbia Springs and hopefully more down to earth MCs.

I Love Suburbia...Great Guys...Love Stories

I am so glad I found this series. Rachel has built a town that I want to visit. Sure it has it's problems...one city council woman who is totally evil...but newcomers to town are more than a match for her.

Dalton wants to buy a mansion for his dad. But the only one he wants is already occupied. All the owners need is an influx of cash so they can remodel and open a resort.

An interfering brother, a confused father, a wonderful friend who has become family, and a chance to reexamine a confusing childhood come together in an explosive climax.

The love that develops along the way is the icing on the cake!

I liked the Cinderella-esque story, the central character is a house, that symbolises safety and home to the MC’s, Noah and Dalton who each have their doubts, insecurities and meddling families need to work together to build their HEA.

The second book is as romantic as the first, the story is of a steady pace, it’s well written with engaging characters, I am looking forward to some of the secondary characters getting their story is told. This book can be read as a standalone that would be better read in order.

This was a great sequel to the first Superbia Springs book. It can be read as a standalone, since Rachel Kane does a great job of including any important information, but I recommend reading book 1 first just to get more background on the house and certain secondary characters. I'm definitely enjoying this series, and can't wait to read more.

Rachel is awesome I liked how she dealt with the class distinction which has been around since time began. Loveable characters, family, angst, humour and so many emotions. Dalton and Noah learnt to accept their differences and had hot sensual intimate scenes, be still my heart and a wow factor ending. I’m not sure which man I want to read about next.

I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book for my honest opinions of which I’m under no obligation to do so. I definitely recommend this book.

Love this the second book in this series. Noah dropped everything to move to Superbia Springs to help his friends. He's outspoken, loud, and opinionated. The first time he meets Dalton he's at a loss for words and don't know how to handle him. Dalton is very unhappy and don't know how to express how he feels to family. The book is funny, some angst, sweet with a happy ever ending between these to. I loved seeing all the previous characters and I'm looking forward to the next book.

❤️❤️❤️ it!

I really enjoyed the first first Suberbia Springs book but I think this one may have it beat. I could tell Dalton was going to be special from the beginning. He is exactly what Noah needs. I love the slow burn and even when they finally give in and sleep together you don’t get details which surprisingly I kinda liked, it was like it was private for them. I can’t wait for more!

This is the 2nd book in the series and takes us back to the beautiful Superbia Springs and the worries for Liam, Judah and Noah on how they can restore the stunning but in need of repair, Mansion and open it as a hotel while still dealing with the evil Violet!
Dalton appears to save the day. But along the way there are mix ups and issues, family feuds and passion. All ends up right in the end but after a fair amount of angst and worry!
Good story with a happy ending.

Noah and Dalton are from two different worlds but, when theirs collide sparks fly. This is a heart tugging and emotional read with a HEA.
Tanner and his friends find themselves fighting for their home/resort. Dalton sees the house and wants it and will stop at nothing to get or does he. Before it is to late he realizes what is really important then goes after his man.

Man I loved this!!

Now that Noah has Dalton and Liam is with Mason I need to know what happens with Jonah. And hopefully Colby will find some happiness too. I kind of feel bad for Justin though. Violet for a mom is a nightmare. I thought the journey Noah and Dalton took in regards to their families was perfect. You can learn a lot by looking back.

Noah is a new homeowner to an awesome house and is such a sweetheart and he finds his inner peace and acceptance of himself. Dalton is a billionaire who is so sure of himself that he can get anything he wants using his charm, then suddenly finding it doesn't work on Noah.

This was a wonderful story and the side characters were amazing. I definitely recommend this book!

I absolutely LOVED this marvelous, grab-you-by-the-feels, charming, engaging, endearing, slow burning, explosive, poignant, delightful, tug-at-your-heartstrings, amazing, fantastic, and totally awesome twist on the usual opposites attract/enemies-to-lovers storylines. I was pulled in from the very first page, and I can't wait to see what happens next.

Noah & Dalton are completely opposites but are so right for each other. They both ultimately crave the love the both deserve.

The talk between Dalton & Colby (his brother) was very touching.

Plenty more secondary characters for this series to only carry on getting better and better.

Bring on book 3!
