Mermaids, sunken treasure, and danger in the deep.
Noah McAllister is on the brink of the discovery of a lifetime. As a deep sea diver, he has spent his career searching for treasure on the bottom of the ocean. Years of research have led him to the site of a sunken ship known as the Isabellita.
But Noah’s boss, Al, wants to keep all the treasure for himself, without disclosing the find to the authorities—or sharing with Noah. Noah must work to not only preserve the integrity of the find, but also stay alive long enough to collect his share of the finders’ fee.
And then Noah makes a discovery far more valuable even than the sunken treasure—mermaids are real. A beautiful mermaid helps him locate the treasure and captures his affection. However, she needs his help as much as he needs hers, and he soon faces a threat even more sinister than Al at the bottom of the ocean.

The ad for the book said," . . . couldn't put it down." I agree. A great story line full of fantasy believable blended into reality plus sunken ship full of treasure. You will be up late!

I finished this book a few weeks ago. It has taken some time to absorb its impact and how my thinking changed as I read. For most of the book, I found it implausible how often a certain character believed what another said, and agreed to continue their friendship. It seemed unrealistic - how could anyone be that gullible - but I was wrong.

When the truth all came out at the end of the story and I read the author's note, the force of it hit me right between the eyes.

I have known people like that. People who constantly make excuses for their bad behaviour. People whose claims of innocence I had believed for a while, until the evidence became too overwhelming.

Why then did I find it implausible in a story, when in fact it is far more plausible than, say, the existence of mermaids? Maybe I'm too eager to believe the best of everyone, and have suffered from it as one character in particular suffered in this story.

This covers only one aspect of the book, but to me it was the most powerful one. In this way the book took me by surprise and I see that I need to take care with what I judge as unrealistic in stories.

Because this time it was the truest thing of all.

I read this book in one day and I loved how fast paced it was and how I needed to find out what happened next. I didn’t really connect with any of the characters but I enjoyed how it kept me intrigued.

I could suggest so many reasons to read this book. However, to not spoil anything, I will just say an action-packed dark fairytale.
