Why doesn’t anyone pray for Satan?

He needs it. But so do I, because Kristina Joy Kennedy is killing me. It’s been a year since I first saw her, wearing a white dress, blonde hair braided back with a cute pink bow at the bottom, walking into the church across the street from the Ride or Die bar. A year since my heart came alive. A year since she first told me to get lost.

We are worlds apart. I’m the chaplain of the Heartlands MC, and she runs the food pantry at her father’s church. I’m no saint and I’ve got the blood on my hands to prove it. She wants nothing to do with me and I don’t blame her.

Only, when someone sets the church on fire, and she’s trapped inside? Everything changes. I’m done waiting. You never know if tomorrow will come and I’ve wasted too many tomorrows already.

I’m coming for you, Kristina. God help us all.

Author’s Note: He may have 666 tattooed just above his meat and two veg, but when he sees his one and only for the first time, all he hears are church bells. She makes him work for it, but in the end, it’s all happily ever afters and riding his Harley into the sunset. Always safe, no cheating, way over the top and hallelujahs all around.

The alpha males of Heartlands Motorcycle Club are the most possessive, devoted, and territorial men in the country when it comes to the ones they love.

Heartlands is a rough and rugged new series of standalone stories. Written by four of the most trusted names in short and steamy romance, each book will get your motors revved and your hearts racing. Guaranteed.

Since I was a little girl, I’ve made up stories. I would lay in my bed at night and before I knew what a trope was, I would make up these trope filled stories. Boy sees girl, boys falls for girl, boy saves girl….happily ever after. As I got older, the stories turned steamier and more intricate, but the basics never changed.

Now, my books are still full of romance but the naughty bits are naughtier, my hero’s are obsessed alpha types and my heroines are quirky, real women who come in all shapes and sizes.

So, sit back, banish the real world and get lost in some over the top romance with a heaping helping of hot. xoxoxo

People’s perception

This starts out one way and ends another. I think this is a story about being true to yourself and not caring about what other people think. Kristina and Wrath are wrapped up in each other quickly, once Wrath makes up his mind. A lot happens in here. The ending is the best! So sweet! HEA.

The couple: Wrath and Kristina

Romance genre: MC-lite
Series: Heartlands Motorcycle Club
Length: 111 pages

Plot: Wrath is the chaplain of the Heartlands MC, and he is in love with preacher's daughter Kristina. She has no time for him, though, believing him to be irredeemable. But when her church catches on fire, Wrath is the one who saves her - maybe he isn't as bad as she thought. The danger isn't over though and Wrath intends on protecting Kristina from any trouble coming her way.

Commentary: So, plot twist at the end (well a little - I find that most holier-than-thou preachers have a similar plot twist at the end (not all preachers, just the ones who think they're so much better than us mere mortals)). But I was glad that Kristina finally let herself relax for a minute. I was surprised she wasn't a virgin - I thought that was a requirement for a preacher's daughter! I don't think that what Wrath did was so different than what her father did - it was about service and leadership. But I'm pretty sure they wouldn't agree!

Pretty fast pace and some steamy moments. Another Heartlands Biker!!!

Wrath has been pinning after Kristina a pastors daughter he's met her few times and she has turned him down many times. Until shes trapped inside the church almost burned alive if it wasn't for Wrath who saved her. Their chemistry is very hot and cold because Kristina and her feelings plus we have to deal with her father and some junior pastor who thinks he can boss Kristina around. We also had that "who set fire to the church" mystery.

Now Kristina girl.. how many times do you have to tell your dad you aren't getting married your a grown ass woman stand up for yourself. And as for her push/pull with Wrath Lord he has been truthful since he met you he has never told you a lie and you still don't believe him? I was just rolling my eyes at how she was.

Om drama no ow drama, no cheating, slight Secondary charas, Drama, sexy times, no virgins and no manwhore celibate for few years

I liked this book because I liked Wrath but it wasn't as erotic or romantic as I was really expecting. While Wrath had an alpha vibe it was wasted in this book. Adding in silly OTT evil people written as caricatures with stale, overdone plotting made this an average book at best.

Another great addition to this series, and another great book from Dani. Wrath has been through it all, but for the last year he has been working towards claiming his Kristina. Taking it day by day Wrath works on breaking down Kristina's walls so that one day she will give him a chance. So when he sees smoke coming from the church and finds Kristina locked in the burning room, he knows that he will do whatever it takes to protect her no matter what. Kristina is not sure if it's Stockholm's Syndrome or if Wrath is exactly what she's been looking for. But the more she learns about the biker the more she can't help but fall for. Claiming and keeping Kristina is the name of the game and Wrath will do whatever it takes to claim what belongs to him. Loved these two! And I absolutely loved the message to the story, love knows no bounds. Great Read!!

Wonderful!! This was a nice quick, short read. I absolutely love it.

Wrath meets Kristina when he sees her across the street from Ride or Die bar the MC owns, she's at her father's church. Wrath keeps an eye on Kristina for over a year he goes to the free meals the church passes out just so that he can see her. When Wrath is on his way back from a job with his MC brother's he tries not to look at the church, he doesn't think he's good enough for Kristina. He spots something flickering from the corner of his eye, then he smells smoke. He turns around to discover the church is on fire. He tries to get in but everything is locked up. He climbs onto the roof and has a hard time breaking down the door, then he feels his way inside, everything is dark. He calls out to Kristina, and finally he hears her scream. When he finds her he picks her up and carries her outside only to have William there. Kristina tells Wrath thank you, and William is asking Kristina why he is there. The police need to talk to Kristina so Wrath leaves her and goes back to the bar where he sleeps watching over the church and her home. Wrath tries to stay away but can't so he goes to make sure she is alright and finds her door unlocked. He finds her room, and doesn't knock. She asks him what he's doing there she tells him she should call the police. He asks her what she feels when he is close to her, then he kisses her, she slaps him. Then Kristina starts to kiss him, then he flips her on the bed and they dry hump her most powerful orgasm comes full force. Kristina tells Wrath she wants to know more about him and asks him to take her to where he lives. She feels so free on the back of his motorcycle, she's never felt this before. Wrath shows her his home and when she spots his fishing poles in the corner she asks him if he wants to go fishing. They spend the afternoon on the lake, talking and getting to know one another. After they head back inside he asks her if she wants something to each and she tells him him. They head to the bedroom where he pleasure her and they get physical. Kristina wakes to pounding on the door, Wrath tells her the sheriff is here, when she comes out she finds out he is being arrested for arson. When Kristina finds her phone her father has been calling her nonstop, she tells him what happened then asks him to come and get her. Wrath gets out and heads back to his home only to find her gone, some of his brothers have to carry him out.. They take him to Ride or Die and try to get him to drown his sorrows, but he won't drink. After all the guys leave he head over to her home and walks right inside. He goes to her bedroom and leaves his cut and a note for her. When he hears them come home along with William he slips out the window leaving it unlocked. After coming home from the grocery store her father finds her and has the note that Wrath left, he asks her what this is and she doesn't know. Her father tells her it's already been arranged she will marry William. Her father tells her she will get ready to go to dinner where William will propose. Kristina get furious when William orders her a salad while her father and William enjoy their steak. After she gets home she storms off to her room, she feels she can live on her own and wants to go back to college. After making a decision she goes off to find her father, only to find him talking to William. When William raises his voice and Kristina ties to listen she feels Wrath behind her. He motions for her to follow him, he takes her to the bar where he explains what is going on. Wrath leaves Kristian with Roxanne, Stella and Cat while he heads off to take care of William with Chain, Jaxon, Gage, and Ranger. They all head to the church where they confront William on what is going to happen. When William tells them they can't prove he set the fire Wrath pulls up video and tells him he also has a few witness. They escort William home where he'll be packing his things and moving to another state. Wrath and Kristina's father head back over to the bar where he proposes to her and her father tells her he's happy for her. Kristina tells him she'll marry him. Next they are getting married and take off for their honeymoon, but before that Wrath introduces her to his mother. Ten years later, they have five kids and after the last one decide not to have anymore. Kristina dad is always around to help out with his grandkids. Her father took a leave of absents from the church to figure things out then step down permanently from he church. Wrath made some wise investments, in real estate and gas stations, and he is still Chaplin of the club. Wrath doesn't think he knew who he was until Kristina, they shouldn't be together, they shouldn't make each other happy. They do and they always will.

r e v i e w :
SIGH.

Based on the reviews I already felt like the heroine was going to be annoying and I might hate this. And I was right.

*SPOILERS*

As it was said in other reviews, Wrath is your typical ott protective possessive instalove alpha, but it’s completely wasted on this heroine. The first 5 chapters are literally Wrath pining (in a macho alpha won’t take no for an answer way), and Kristina, while she is clearly attracted to him, is wishy washy and continually rude to him pushing him away - always with the excuse “if my father sees you”. Puh-lease. She goes onnnnn and on about how she’s a grown woman who can stand her ground and won’t be ordered around by her father or let her life be dictated by his expectations blah blah blah except that’s exactly what she does.

There’s this creepy junior pastor that her father is tryna arrange for her to marry and of course she’s upset about it and says she’s not gonna do it but she sure doesn’t act like it. Oh, William want’s to stay over while dad’s out of town? Oh well, let him stay even though he creeps me out and likes ordering me around and talking down to me. Oh, dad is ordering me to go have dinner with him and William and I have to let William order bland salad for me so I don’t get fat? Oh well, I guess I’ll eat it. It’s not like I’m a freethinking grown woman or anything. What a freaking dormat.

I just cannot with her. And even when she FINALLY let’s Wrath in her life and sleeps with him and they declare their love for each other etc etc, she BELIEVES IT when she’s told he set fire to the church while she was inside. Wtf?! She deserves to be married to William bruh. She don’t deserve Wrath’s devotion.

I HATE heroine’s like this. Why do author’s write them? To fuck with us? Does anyone enjoy reading about them? Can we stop?? I love Dani Wyatt and that is the SOLE reason I FORCED myself to finish this. Ugh.

2 stars, only reason I didn’t rate it just 1 is bc Wrath and the spicy parts were decent. Heroine ruined the rest. This was a waste of my time.

h o t  c l i p s :

"Your job is to make my cock happy from now on. Whenever I say are you ready, that means you better be wet. I’ll take you whenever and wherever I want. The back room at the bar, bent over in the kitchen with people in the other room. I own this pussy now and everyone will know it.” I bury myself deep, her body taking me down to my balls.

♥︎

I turn us over, wanting to watch her ride me. Her blonde hair is wild in her face and her tits bounce and sway as she takes over and fucks me like my perfect private slut, just the way I like.

She’s going faster, pressing down on me, and my balls are ready to seize. I reach up and grab her tits, rolling her nipples between my fingers as her pussy clenches, her thighs tightening on my hips as she drops her chin to her chest on a throaty moan. I meet her movements with hard upward thrusts, smacking our flesh together and her walls clamp down as her voice breaks. Her incredible cunt starts to milk me and I let go. I fill her with hot cum, deep inside, and it’s the first relief I’ve felt in a year.

♥︎

“Good girl. Now, get your tits out. I’m going to start there, then I’m going to put you on your knees and let that pussy of yours worship my cock for a while.” She pauses as I let her chin go. “Now.” I order, and her lips curl upward as her hands go to the buttons on her shirt.

Wrath is the story of Henry or Wrath and Kristina.

Tropes and inquires:
Age gap
Pastors daughter x club preacher
Insta love
Obsessive overprotective and dominant alpha hero
Hot feisty flustered cute and kind heroine
HEA and kids
Alright epilogue

She’s a pastor’s daughter and her father doesn’t want her to get with him cuz he’s already promised another pastor to marry her. She likes Wrath who is a bad boy motorcycle rider with a bad past rep but is a good guy. She always tells him to leave or she’ll call the cops but I think she does that cuz she doesn’t want her father to get mad. A fire happens in the church and he saves her and after he’s claimed her that same night, the next day he’s arrested for arson and her father is infuriated. Turns out the pastor William was the one who started the fire to get a brand new church for himself in his name. But Wrath threatens him with a video of him beating women to get hard or his fantasy or something. William shuts up and leaves without a second thought. Her father gives his blessing and turns out he’s gay and he’s been that way for a long time. Even wit his wife but he stayed with her for his reputation as a pastor. The women was his best friend and long time companion.

Dani Wyatt penned the seventh installment in the Heartlands MC series. In it, she chronicles the romantic journey of Kristina and Wrath. Wrath is the club’s chaplain. Kristina is a pastor’s daughter. The church is across the street from the Ride or Die. Once Wrath sees her, he is a goner. It is love at first sight. Kristina and Wrath fit the opposite attract theory much to the chagrin of the pastor. He wants her to marry the junior pastor. Something is off between the pastor and his assistant who seems to be demanding that Kristina marry him. Kristina is uncomfortable around the junior pastor. Will Destiny help Kristina and Wrath to come together? Will the strangling hold the junior pastor wields over the pastor come to light? You must read this book to find out.
Ms. Wyatt does a remarkable job with this romantic suspense. I enjoy that she too incorporates a dual plot line. One being the romantic journey of Kristina and Wrath. The other being the struggle between the pastor and his associate. I enjoy Ms. Wyatt’s remarkable skill of creating diverse and appealing characters, both primary and secondary. Her lead characters fit the opposites attract theory. Readers will enjoy the chemistry between them. This book is well written with outstanding dialog and descriptive scenes that lends credibility to this romance. I enjoyed her use of a dual POV allowing readers to become better acquainted with two lovebirds.

I did not fully read this book and that was because a couple of things:

1. I did not enjoy how the first 6 books all talked about going clean and then this book was all about an illegal deal
2. I did not like how it seemed that the heroine was disgusted by the hero
3. I did not like how the heroine came across...I am not sure if it was because she was uncertain or confused the entire story or what, but I just did not enjoy it.
4. I even did not like how Wrath came across in some parts.
5. Even though this book was only like 110 pages, it still felt really slow.

Therefore, I could not fully read this book. I think I maybe read 2 chapters and then skimmed the rest. So until I go back and fully read it, its getting a 1 star

Wrath was not my favorite in this series but it was ok. I felt like there was a lot of random things happening in the book and it wasn’t all pulled together neatly. There was a fire but I’m still not sure what the point was (was she supposed to die or get rescued by Junior?). Also why was the dad willing to ruin his daughter’s life to keep his secret? That whole thing was sort of crap.

Anyway, it was an ok short fluffy romance with low drama and medium heat. I’m looking forward to reading Beckham’s story next, since we already met him in a prior book.

If my church had a pastor like Wrath I might have stuck with it.

Man, these Heartlands MC men just keep getting hotter. Wrath knew who he wanted and not Heaven or Hell was going to keep him away. Kristina might have been unsure at first, but she knew a good thing when she saw it. I think she was a little too quick to forgive her father. He was willing to sacrifice her happiness to keep his secret. Not cool. Still a great read!

Wrath

I didn't think it was anyone but the Junior Pastor, who had set the fire, trapping Kristina in the church. Luckily Wrath was always watching out for her and saved her in time. The secrets the pastor knew about Kristina's dad, made him think he was set for life. He even tried to get Wrath put in jail on arson charges, when he was the culprit. He's lucky Wrath hadn't dealt with him as he deserved.

This is Wrath and Kristina’s story. You would think this is like the girl next door but honestly it is better than that. The heart knows what it wants and gets it. It was well written and it will keep you interested from the beginning. Love all the MC books these authors are bringing

Preacher of a different sort

Wrath fell for Kristina the moment he saw her a year ago but she won't give him the time of day until he rescued her from a fire. Kristina finds herself falling for Wrath but her preacher father has other plans for her. Wrath and Kristina will have to fight for their HEA in this sexy read.

It was good but...

*SPOILER*

I feel as though the situation with her father was not addressed. Sure they spoke about hike coming out and coming to terms with it. But he was harming his daughter in order to protect himself. That is no way justifiable, yet it seemed everyone just forgot about it like it never happened.

Loved

Nobody would expect a preacher's daughter and a biker to fall in love, but that's exactly what happens. Kristina and Wrath may not have the most conventional relationship, but they don't care what others think. Only their family matters. This was a great fast paced read with lots of love.

Not the best

Actually it was crap. There is nothing to contribute to the MC, hell except for the name of the bar, or any hook that pulls you into readingthe story. Kristina (I seriously had to double check her name) was a ridiculous character. She is a whole 'wild one' while at college & cursed up a storm but then a 'what the good Lord says' and stands by meekly?

Mine

The moment Wrath sees Kristina he knows she will belong to him. She makes him want to do things he never imagined and settled down. He just has to get past her tough look and her father.
Will she allow him into her heart? Will she stand up for herself and go after what makes her happy?

Wrath is amazing!

He is an amazing character. He loves Kristina and he wants her to see they work together. This book has intrigue, arson, heartbreak and redemption. I have enjoyed every single one of the Heartland MC books. This one needs a bit of editing though.

This one felt clunky and rushed. Definitely not a strong addition to the series and I really didn’t care for the hero Wrath as he just came across as the typical alpha asshole while the heroine Kristina was definitely too stupid to live.
