They find the bones first. Meticulously stacked at a construction site a decade after the victim disappeared, her skeleton bears marks of unspeakable torture at the hands of a sadistic monster. But if he’s now dying in state prison, who arranged her remains?

Next come the fires. Arson. Two houses, at first, no obvious connection.

Then the district attorney turns up. Belly up, actually, his body butchered and floating in his own lake-house pool.
Detective Jaxon Jennings and his partner, Ray Maningham, are as lost as everyone else. Who’s behind these grisly murders? And how are they connected to a lunatic their department put behind bars years ago?

As the body count rises, the cold realization descends that this is something altogether new. A copycat, maybe, but a hunter far angrier, far more savage than his predecessor.

With no predictable pattern to track—the killer targets victims of both sexes, of any age—Jaxon and his team must dig deep into the secrets of the past to prevent a future slaughter. But the corpses are piling up. And the killer is now targeting kids.

Fan-favorite author Richard C Hale returns with Florida’s gutsiest detective, Jaxon Jennings, who must stop the vilest serial killer since Ted Bundy—before he turns the Sunshine State into America’s biggest open-air bone yard.

I love this series featuring Jaxon Jennings, homicide detective. He and his partner, Ray Maningham, always have an interesting case to solve. This time, however, they take a little bit of a back seat while a co-worker, Eric, takes the lead, along with Bren, a doctor who works in the medical examiner's office. All the signs in their latest case point to a sadistic serial killer whom Bren helped put away in prison with her testimony. His victims are tortured and killed and it seems he's targeting those people, like Bren, who were involved in his capture and imprisonment.

I really liked the new characters and once again the plot kept me turning pages to discover what happens.

Excellent book

Very good read. A copycat of a murderer, a man dying in prison. Hid the murders in fire until the medical examiner did the autopsy. Could only identify with dental records, ugh. Jaxon, Ray and Eric, excellent detectives. The copycat murderer actually gave himself away and that was an interesting part of the story. Lots of twists, a sister that was a surprise, upstanding citizen and all, but a very warped gene pool. Excellent read.

More Jaxon in the next boom

I love these books and download them as soon as available but this book disappointed me. Loved the story line but without giving anything away hated the Eric/Bren relationship and felt it over took the book. Found myself flipping through the chapters they appeared in. Would love the next book to focus more on Jaxon, Ray and Vick.

Awesome

Thoroughly enjoyed this book. Great characters that make the Jaxon Jennings series so good. A psychotic serial killer and some new characters , join Jackson, Ray, Eric, Jackson's wife who are cops/detectives in this thriller that will have you racing through this book. Completely recommend this whole series.

Another great Jaxon Jennings Thriller! Richard Hale continues to expand upon the characters that have been in the series from the start, but always manages to add a new character or two that you hope will continue to be included in future books. I thoroughly enjoyed this one and look forward to the next one in the fall!

Another great read.

Non stop action. Lots of emotion and murder. The characters are real and you can visualise the action as if you were watching a movie. You get a madman, or two, some nice kids, a bit of twisted romance, and lots of dead people. What's not to like!

Gripping read

I have just read all ten Jaxon Jennings books back to back, and can honestly say that I have loved each and every one.

Richard C Hale was not an author I had heard of before, and so took a chance with him, I am so glad I did he is now one of my favourite authors.

Terrifying mystery

A madman on the loose, capturing, mutilating then killing people brilliantly crafted, will keep you awake or interrupt your sleep.

Fantastic!

Another great Jaxon Jennings mystery. Kept me reading until the end. I liked how you put more emphasis on other characters. But Jaxon is still the man.

Explosive

It was a page turner. I liked that the regulars took sort of a backseat to the younger police officers and able to develop their story. Looking forward to next book.

Richard C. Hale’s last few Jaxson Jennings stories have taken on a decidedly dark and gritty tone that has made them extremely hard to put down and Bone Yard is no different . Bone Yard not only incudes the normal cast of characters, a couple new character play pivotal roles in this story, which is told using two parallel story lines that defy geometry and merge well past the vanishing point. This story has replaced Viral as my favorite Jaxon Jennings story.

This one is an action/love story

Jaxon faces a new serial killer, and this one is pure evil. And there is a new romance for one of his coworkers. This new book focuses a lot on the subplots, but there's still plenty of Jaxon and his partner Ray. If you haven't read the series you can read this as a stand-alone book, but once you read it, you will probably want to spend more time with our hero and his friends.

Another great book from Richard Hale! I love how dark and gritty his books are.
This one is all about trying to find a copycat killer, who is continuing a torturous murder spree. Another great page turner!
I do Jaxon was in it a bit more, I feel his character is in it less frequently. Also the romance in this book, I was secretly hoping it would turn out a little bit different than it did! But that doesn't affect how good the book is.
Can't wait for the next one!!
