A pirate desperate to lead an honest life. An executive who falls through time. One last chance to right the wrongs of the past.
Bahamas, 1718. Captain James “Prince” Barrow is tired of being a pirate and wants to settle down. As a noble, he never envisioned the life of an outlaw as his own and wants to appease his treasure-hungry crew before they mutiny him due to their lack of patience. Luckily, James has two clues that will lead him to treasure his fellow pirate captain buried on his behalf. In order to attain the third one, James must attend a fancy ball he is sure to be recognized at.
He needs a companion - one who will help him blend in with high society.
Bahamas, 2020. As a New York executive, vacation is not in Samantha Gilbert’s vocabulary. Not that her best friend cares. Samantha is dragged to Nassau, Bahamas to help her friend get over a nasty breakup and visits a pirate museum. The tour guide shares a tragic tale of a pirate who died before finding his long-lost treasure. He insists on Samantha trying on a jade necklace from that very treasure. Once the cool metal touches her skin, Samantha falls back through time - straight into the arms of the pirate himself.
The two strike a bargain: if she helps him find the third clue, he’ll allow her to put on the jade necklace from the treasure and get her back to the twenty-first century.
With the English hot on their trail and death a near certainty, both are forced to work together not only to uphold their bargain, but to survive. And with time running out, both could very well lose the thing they desire most: each other.
Fans of Pirates of the Caribbean and Outlander are devouring this new historical time travel romance by Mariah Stone.

This read like a Pirates of the Carribbean fanfic from my early teen-age years. The romance felt forced and it all happened way too fast. For instance, the female protagonist went from "I don't have feelings and I don't do love like ever" to "I love this pirate and this pirate only" in the blink of an eye. She went back in time, saw him and was immediately sold. I don't hate the insta-love trope per se but for a book with only about 150 pages, the execution was done rather poorly. I was hoping for a bit more angst and stuff like that. The plot was entirely predictable too, which I could've looked over if it wasn't for the really simplistic writing style that came along with it.
In this first book we meet two friends Lisa and Samantha who are on a holiday to get over spurned love. While touring a Pirates museum they meet Adonis who tells them the story of two pirate friends James from a weathly family and Cole from a poor family. He tells the girls that the Pirates stories are unfinished and they need to travel back to help them out. He shows them the Jade necklaces that will send them back. Samantha tries her on first and she goes back and meets James. He is not pleased to meet her as he has trust issues with women from being hurt. The catch is that that must work together to find the last clue Cole left for James about the treasure and Samantha needs the necklace to get back to her time. Can these two while working together overcome past hurts and open their hearts to love? Only time will tell.

A last chance effort to clear his name, will he succeed? He knows that the only way he can prevent his crew from mutiny is to win a good purse that they can split between themselves and he is loyal to his crew and wishes to see they will do well out of their takings from other ships they have beaten. He has to attend a ball and will need a female companion to accompany him and this just so happens to find him with a young woman known as Samantha who had been attending a museum in Nassau when she tries on a necklace from the Pirate Treasure on display and suddenly finds that she had moved through time almost two centuries. The two strike a bargain to work alongside each other and in doing so they agree that even though they are from different times but together they want to achieve their goals, however over time they start to have feelings for each other and are trying to see where their path will take the,. I voluntarily received and review an Advanced Reader Copy I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.
Once again Mariah has done it......she’s come up another action packed time travel book, this time involving pirates. Both main characters, Samantha and James are very much alike. Both have been burned by love and are afraid to trust, settling for meaningless relationships. Fate to step in and brings them together. They are pulled towards each other, but, can they get past their fears and make a commitment?
This was a quick read and although I did enjoy the story, I felt the characters were under developed and everything happens so fast, you don't really have time to relish the story. I guess that's what happens when it's a short story!
Samantha is a modern woman who has sealed her heart against love and James is from the past, a pirate who wants to settle down and has also been hurt in love. When she travels back in time, she finds herself on James' ship and before she knows it, she's helping him find the treasure he's looking for and at the same time it will change the course of his future. Everything takes place within 2 days so as I said, it all happens very fast!

It is a really good book! Im doing a challenge with my friend and for that I had to read a book with pirates in it. So I was searching for a book I thought I would enjoy. Im really happy that I chose this book because it is so good, I really like the way it was written and the story itself was unpredictable and so fun.
I just love stories written by Mariah Stone! A 2020 RONE Award finalist, Mariah weaves the most fantastic tapestry of tales into every series she undertakes. “Pirates Treasure” from the Called by a Pirate Series is further proof of her flair for writing magnificent hero’s and heroines, breathtaking adventures, and love that surpasses time itself is enthralling. This swashbuckling romance is sure to make your heart beat faster!
Her characters are likeable/lovable and you’ll find yourself immersed in their adventures and rooting for them from the start. Her heroes are larger than life, strong and sexy, and her heroines are both strong, and intelligent. The chemistry between characters Samantha and James is off the charts.
Her dialogue is witty, fun and romantic. Her imagery and ability to draw you into the story is extraordinary. She has a wonderful way of transporting the reader to another time and place.
If I had but one complaint it would be that the story is too short. But that’s just me… LOL, I can’t get enough!
Thank you again Mariah for this wonderfully, adventurous, beautifully, romantic love story that breaks the barriers of time.
Action packed, swash buckling rogue and a time traveler from the future. This is fast paced, interesting and intriguing. The lead characters are amazing. Mature, confident, fearful of falling in love and adventurous. Although this is not a novel, all the important pieces of a great story are found in it. It is completely exciting and fascinating. This is a must read and I can't wait for the continuation in The Pirate's Pleasure. I loved reading this and highly recommend it.
Samantha and her bestie, Lisa, visit the Bahamas and a local pirate museum. At the museum the women are entranced by portraits of two pirates one of them Captain James “Prince” Barrow captures Samantha's eye. From their guide she learns that because he wasn't able to attend a ball, retrieve the treasure, he died hanged before his family; as he is telling the tale they see a jade necklace. At his offer, the tour guide puts the necklaces on them and the disappear, his last words to them to come back they need the original necklace....
I was immediately swept into reading this story. It is one of those stories that is.... well treasure! the chemistry, the time travel, adventure and unbridled passion between the two... really make this a compelling story. I couldn't put it down - at all!! I thoroughly enjoyed the descriptions, they were detailed and reading their vividness brought the story to life for me! The action, adventure, danger, outwitting the enemy, and the risk they take to retrieve the treasure is exciting as it was a mystery as to what was going to happen next! I enjoyed the anticipation of the ending and of what Samantha will decide for her future. There is a HEA.
Mariah Stone has done it again! A great time travel story that takes you back to the past and where you want to stay.
But not Samantha.
When she visit a pirate museum with her friend Lisa, she hears the story of pirate James and his quest for treasure. When the guide gives her a chance to put on a duplicate necklace, she doesn't realize she's going back in time to help James. A wonderfully exciting story with an emerging love is what you get to read with this book. As with her series of time travelers in the Viking era, you wish the main characters everything in love. But how is that possible when centuries in time separate you?
Thank you Mariah for sharing your great imagination with this book

This is a brilliant read. Wonderful well written plot and story line that had me engaged from the start. Love the well fleshed out characters and found them believeable. Great suspense and action with wonderful world building. Can't wait to read what the author brings out next. Recommend reading.
I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review.
This is a fast-paced, suspenseful story. While vacationing in the Bahamas Samantha and Lisa tour a pirate museum, and learn about James Barrow and Cole The Black. When they are told James' sad story, and Samantha is told that she can change his fate, she doesn't believe it. Then she puts on the replica necklace that was part of the men's last treasure, and she finds herself thrown back in time, to James' ship. They team up to look for the treasure, fighting the fierce attraction between them, and fall in love. They've both been hurt by love, but while Samantha has sworn off love, James wants to love, marry and have children. It's very entertaining. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. This is my honest and voluntary opinion of it.
Mariah Stone never disappoints and this book is no exception to that! Pirate's Treasure is book1 in the historical time travel romance duet Called by a Pirate. While on vacation in the Bahamas with her best friend, Samantha tries on a replica of a jade necklace, blacks out, and when she wakes up, finds she's been thrown back in time and is in the Captain's Quarters on a pirate ship. Captain James Barrows is tired of the pirate life, wants nothing more than a wife, children, a home, and peace. They both have been hurt or betrayed by someone they loved, so can they find anything besides a one and done with each other. They strike a bargain to help each other which leads to attraction, which leads to more. Can these two find the happiness they want with each other? There is action, twists, steam, and adventure in this well paced read. Great job Mariah, I'm looking forward to the next book in this duet featuring Samantha's friend Lisa and Captain Cole the Black.

A swash-bucking, adventurous, and heartwarmingly unique MUST-READ Pirate Romance! PIRATE’S TREASURE, the beginning of another series by the RONE Award-winning author Mariah Stone is a marvelous slow-burn romantic romp through time that weaves itself into the very sinew of a reader. Holding one’s attention until the series Called by a Pirate becomes more a promise than a destination. In PIRATE’S TREASURE Samantha, an independent New York businesswoman, visits the City of Pirates Museum with her best friend during a trip the two have taken to help Lisa overcome the devastation she feels from being dumped by her fiancé. While at the museum, the young women pause at a display of the portraits of two very handsome swashbucklers. What happens after is so full of heart-stopping adventure and heart-warming romance, readers can’t help but fall in love, experience the chemistry, and feel the heat as James and Samantha find each other. With a grip so fascinating, mind-boggling, and difficult to describe it is impossible to release PIRATE’S TREASURE’S hold until the last word is consumed. Then all a reader can focus upon is the answer to the question, “When is the next Called by a Pirate novella going to be published?!?” The good news, PIRATE’S TREASURE, the second novella in this fantastic series will go live on Amazon on July 5th, 2020! Less than two weeks to wait to hear what befalls Lisa, Samantha’s best friend. I jumped at the opportunity to read an early copy of PIRATE’S TREASURE and then purchased a pre-order of it and PIRATE’S TREASURE, too! Despite the novella length, I had to give PIRATE’S TREASURE a 5-STAR rating as its swashbuckling romance, and entertainment value was too perfect to only have the stars usually given a novella-length story. This is my VOLUNTARY and HONEST review of PIRATE’S TREASURE. I STRONGLY suggest you purchase your copy of PIRATE’S TREASURE today! Happy pages! 😉
Samantha Gilbert is a twenty-first-century girl. She has been hurt in love and wants nothing to do with it. She and her friend Lisa go to the Bahamas and while there tour a Pirate Museum. While there the guide giving the tour tells them about two pirates. They are friends, one is noble and wealthy and the other is poor. They had been hanged. Unless Samantha goes back to save him. James Barrow was once a noble but he left that life behind him. But he is tired and just wants a wife, children, and a home. He is tall and handsome, and she finds him delicious but she only wants one night stands. He was betrayed by a woman he thought loved him. I thought it was a little short. I had hoped to be immersed in the story but I wasn't. It was still a very good story and I love this author's work. The characters were good and seemed realistic. There were a couple of sentences that need to be straightened but minor. There was an easy flow to the reading and the descriptions were wonderful. I really enjoyed the book and recommend it for those over eighteen. I received this ARC from the author and voluntarily reviewed it.
I received an advance copy of this great read thru Bookfunnel and I’m so happy I got the opportunity. It’s about a modern business woman, Samantha, a jade necklace that takes her back in time to a sexy pirate, who’s also noble born. Add to that Lots of hair raising adventure, beautiful settings, and mouth-watering sex scenes, what more could you want! I loved every line. Now I cannot wait to read the next book in the series to find out what happened to Samantha’s friend. I’m gladly volunteering to give this review.
I enjoyed this book it has interesting that are well developed and engaging. The easy flow of the storyline kePt me interstate from the beginning to the very last word.

Samantha and Lisa are on a girls vacation in the Caribbean Lisa just had a bad break-up they decide to take a trip to the local pirate museum from there its a Jade necklace time travel and some hinky voodoo. Samantha wakes up in the past with a gun in her face and captain James Barrow he thinks shes trouble and wants to steal his treasure she thinks he's a typical man with and attitude all she wants is to return to the future and she needs the Jade Necklace to do that. These two have both been betrayed by love will they find it with each other or will Samantha let her broken heart take her away from James.
I was allowed to read and advance copy of this book via Booksprout and this is my honest review.
Pirate's Treasure is the first book in the Called by a Pirate series and is an engaging time travel romance.
I really enjoyed this quick read. James and Samantha are good characters who have both been hurt in their pasts. When she ends up with him in the Bahamas in the year 1718, they need to work together to achieve his goal of finding a hidden treasure and send her back into the future. This book is well crafted and has action, adventure, danger, suspense, and romance.
I am looking forward to reading more books in this series.

Lively time travel to save a handsome pirate⌛ 4🌟stars I felt this was a great time travel adventure and packed a very solid story into a small package. Action-packed with a build up to late steam, a determined modern woman and a basically decent pirate captain who's trying to rebuild his life after betrayal by a scheming woman. I got pretty fond of this wary pirate😍. I am a fan of Mariah Stone's novel-length Viking time travel romances and, though this was a good deal shorter, it's still full of emotion, difficult decisions and great protagonists, though the cameo🐍 snake did creep me out a bit😖!
I read a complimentary advance copy of the story; this is my voluntary and honest review.
Another winner by Mariah Stone. A fast-paced, pirate adventure involving time travel and romance. A pirate facing certain death one way or another, and a modern-day woman who gets pulled into the past to save him. Helping him will earn her way back home, but will she really want to leave him once he is safe? Book one in a series, it has it's HEA.
Samantha Gilbert visits a pirate museum and is urged to put on a necklace from a pirate’s treasure. She falls back in time to meet the pirate himself, Captain James "Prince" Barrow. James is tired of the pirate life and is ready to settle down but not sure how he can arrange that.
With Samantha’s mishap of landing on his ship, they work together to find the treasure that he needs to fulfill his plan. Would changing the outcome of his search change his future? Will the two of them be successful in the short time they have to find it? Is there any way to find a future together when they both come from different times in history?
Samantha is on a girl's trip in the Caribbean and comes across a replica of a jade necklace with voodoo properties that was hunted by Captain James "Prince" Barrow. Turns out it might not have been such a replica after all when she finds herself suddenly transported into the chambers of his pirate ship. He's skeptical about her claims of time travel, but needs her help if he's to obtain the last clue to the location of a hidden treasure chest. After all their adventures, will Samantha really want to go back to her own time and will James be willing to let her go?
The action and adventure tend to take precedence over the romance, but the heat's definitely there if you've got a bit of patience. Given how short the book is, you don't have to hold out long. For a pirate, James certainly has a kind heart, but that's what endears him to Samantha. She's a competent woman and totally holds her own despite the insanity of her situation. They each have legitimate reasons for being hesitant about love and it makes their growing connection all the sweeter. I only wish it had been longer so as to give even more depth to their love story.

I thoroughly enjoyed this short time travel story with great characters, romance and intrigue. She went on a Bahama vacation with her best friend who had just had a terrible breakup. They went to a pirate museum where they learned about two pirate friends and the treasure one had hidden and the other was looking for his sha. There were two made necklaces. The tour guide told her to try one on and she ended up in the 18th century on a pirate ship. There is a lot of romance and intrigue, but the ending was great.
I like the cover showing the pirate. The pirate looking for the treasure and to pay his men. The executive lady goes to a museum and is captivated by a portrait of the pirate named. A strange man walks up to her and her friend and asks questions about who they would choose. Who would I choose? Probably the one on the cover. This book has a good plot and interesting characters. Recommend this read. Freely given review.
