Call Me Sugar: An MMF Menage

Rate this book
My first love. My first lust. Fourteen years later, my feelings haven’t changed. But it’s not that simple...

I’m right back where I said I’d never be. Living in the house I was raised in, giving up an action-filled job in the city to return to a town that’s emptier than a tomb, working in a place that once made my skin crawl. All for a boy I lusted for who turned me down flat, and another that I loved who walked away with my virginity.

But things aren’t as they seem.

Keith Ryker and Jason Lee are no longer boys … and love one another.

Can I forget the pain of the past?

Can this small, judgmental neck of the woods embrace my choices?

Can the secrets of yesterday become the foundation of tomorrow? Or will they crucify me against Springhill, Texas all over again?

I want two men. Is that wrong? Is it immoral? Probably. But I’ll fight until the end for the men I love. And if that’s wrong, then I don’t want to be right.

I have read a few menage erotic romances, but this, for me, is very different take. I don't want to spoil the story for anyone, but the emotions, the passion that run through this story from all three characters is truly intense.
I love all of Lacee's work, she has a natural pace and rhythm to her wordplay which is deeply sensuous, but I have to say she has excelled herself with pure carnal lust in the sex scenes with Call Me Sugar.
As always there are elements of humour and an intelligent depth to it that others in this genre might like to try.
All in all one seriously arousing and emotive read that I just couldn't put down.

Wow! What a hot and sexy story this was! So passionate and emotional--I was glued to the pages from the very beginning and barely came up for air! The chemistry between Jen, Keith, and Jason was really something else! I think at one point my was Kindle smokin'!🔥🔥 And the amazing love and bond between them was beautiful and so powerful--even after all those years. This story was pulling all kinds of feelings and emotions from every where, and it was written beautifully. I had to catch my breath. I didn't expect to feel this much, but I am in no way disappointed. Loved it!❤💜❤💜

*New to me author

I want to say right off in this review that this is not a typical MMF book. And that I didn't find anything particularly wrong with Call Me Sugar. Lacee did a good job with the three main characters, Jen, Jason, and Keith. We get a decent back story and go forward from there.

Since I do not want to give anything away, I did enjoy this story. I will just say, some things are just obvious. Rather your relationship is two or three, you know whom you love. Everyone has issues, but if you love that person enough you can overcome them or love them even more for it.

I would recommend this story to anyone that enjoys MMF stories.

Ms. Hightower has crafted a ménage story that exhibits raw passion and forbidden desires. Expertly written, she draws the reader into the story, keeps you interested until the very end, and provides sex and sin to heat up even the coldest nights. Anxiously awaiting the next installment.

I received a copy in exchange for an honest review

Call Me Sugar is a BDSM MMF romance that is focused on the unconventional love among three friends: Keith Ryker, Jason Lee and Jennifer Boylan. They grew up in Springhill, a small town in Texas, in their teenage years their friendship was growing into something more. In their last year of high school, they discovered the Dominance/submissive world but since it was something strange and frowned upon they couldn't figure out how to embrace it and live together.

The story alternates between past and present and highlights the power of their feelings over the years and their fears of facing the unknown. Guilt has a big role in the story along with forgiveness and let's not forget about the secrets. It's filled with so many raw, passionate and tearful scenes. The chemistry between the characters was off the charts and so was the hotness of the adult scenes.

You go through an emotional roller coaster while reading this book. Even though the plot is simple the power of the words holds you captive until the last page. I am impressed by it and I will rate it with 4.5 stars. I can't wait for the next one.

Call Me Sugar is the first book in the Sugar & Sin series written by author Lacee Hightower. I just love MMF romances, and I have a weakness for sexy alpha men. Especially domineering cowboys! So, when I heard about this steamy novel, I got really excited!

Call Me Sugar tells the story of Jennifer Boylan, Keith Ryker, and Jason Lee. Jen, Keith, and Jason all went to high school together, along with Jen’s best friend, Rylee. Jen wasn’t planning to leave after graduation, but after her heart was broken, she moved away to Dallas to study to be a Paralegal. Now, 14 years later, Jen moved back to Springfield to where she grew up. Her feelings for Keith and Jason didn’t diminish but grew even more. Jen knew that they were hiding something, but she didn’t know what.

How will Jen react to Jason and Keith’s secret? Can she fight for what she believes and wants?

I would like to preface this by saying that contemporary romance is a new discovery to me. I have read all of Lacee's books now and have found every single one well crafted and told with passion and class that I would normally expect from more classical literature.
The romance and emotion in Call Me Sugar are a strong pull from start to finish and enforce the story rather than distract from it, the menage aspect of the story is handled with beauty and care. The moments of intimacy are intense and in one particular scene very acrobatic. As with all of Lacee's work, I have enjoyed the emotional power and her talents as a word artist immensely.
Her gentle humour and natural empathy handles every story with grace and ease.
I look forward to part two of Sugar and Sin and would recommend reading part one to anyone who comes from a world away from contemporary romance.

First in the series by new-to-me author Lacee Hightower
I enjoyed this MMF menage that's really about nostalgia, homecoming and finding what we've lost. There's a good dollop of angst that gave me a bit of a struggle during lockdown, but ultimately this is an uplifting read, which makes it perfect any time.
I got a little mired down in the backstory at the beginning, but the pace picked up and I really liked seeing from the different characters' perspectives. It let me deeply connect with all three characters. I loved that there was a strong relationship between the two men, as well as their girl, and the modern western is a delightful twist.
Any reader of romance will love this book, but particularly readers of MMF.

Let me start by says WOW just Oh MY Stars this is truly one wonderful read. It took me on a ride up and down and around the block and back. This is not a fluffy romance at all and if that is what you want than cruise on by. But if you are looking for a good MMF book with Kink in it that shows what true love really is, and you can stand some dark.... this is the book for you. Call Me Sugar had me from the start and until the end. I have a thing for menage and kink and out them together and they are the perfect storm so to speak for me. This book was that and more. I am looking forward to reading the next book and seeing how this all started for Keith and Jason.

Call Me Sugar - a review by Rosemary Kenny

Lacee Hightower hits an MMF ménage a trois, panty-meltingly hot erotic high note, with the volcanic sex scenes between former high school sweethearts Jennifer Boylan and Keith Ryker, coming to pass years later, when bisexual Keith has partnered up with another student who was on Jen's wtf (aka wants to f**k), radar too, back in the day.

Many events, including the unexplained and devastating suicide of Jen's bff Rylee and Keith's Dad, among others, are narrated intermittently by the three MCs, as all of them separate and give other relationships and careers a try, before they finally return to Springhill, to live, love, lust and work together, in an unexpected, explosive HEA, that's like nothing you've ever read before!

Forget Christian Grey and the fears and challenges of the Covid-19 and your Lockdown Blues, as you won't be able to think of anything else other than what's deliciously and seductively happening within the pages of Call me Sugar (Book 1 in her Sugar and Sin series), by the Mistress of Ménage, Lacee Hightower.

Absolutely loved reading this captivating mènage romance, the storyline was amazing and the story covered some hard hitting issues. Overall the book was very well written, the characters were brilliantly developed, had fantastic chemistry and were really brought to life throughout the story which was filled with, romance, friendship, heartbreak, love, hard decisions and hot steamy sexy scenes. Thoroughly enjoyable dramatic romance with hints of a happy ever after, looking forward to reading more books by Lacee Hightower in the future.

I got this book off Gay romance reviews and this is me leaving my honest review
This is the first book that I’ve read by Lacee Hightower and I’m gonna be honest I can’t wait to read another book from her. This is the first book of the series called sugar and sin.
This is a story about love that has lasted since they met at school. Jen knew as soon as she met Keith that he would be the love of her life. But she also had these feelings for his best friend Jason. And she couldn’t understand how she could feel about two boys this way. But something happened that really destroyed her. She lost her best friend due to an overdose. And she moved away. Now 14 years later because of Keith asking her to come back she was coming home to a place that had so many bad memories.
As soon as she saw Keith all those feelings came back, not that they ever left, there wasn’t a day that went past that she didn’t think of Keith and Jason. And when she saw Jason she knew she still had feelings for him too. How could this be happening but when it soon becomes apparent why the three were so close everything slots into place for Jen. But could there be a future for these three??
I got totally sucked into their story. And I really felt the struggles for these three people. And I hate that people can’t be true to themselves because of how a community will react and how much strain that put on these three. It made no sense not to be who you. as Jen put it they are macaroni and cheese, jelly and ice cream come on it’s got to be. But what a brilliant story and I cannot wait for the second book in the series. I am so glad I found this author. This book has got everything in it and your emotions will be like you’re on a rollercoaster. I think Keith is a hard person to get to know, he is so deep and it wasn’t until the end of the book that I really understood him. Jason is a sweetheart. Jen is one lucky lady.

A Joyfully Jay review.

3.75 stars

When I first started this book, I wasn’t sure where it was going to go or if it was going to be for me, as the opening scene has Keith in a dominant role in a BDSM scene and drinking alcohol. About all I could see in the scene is that he has a partner in a submissive role and Keith is chugging back Crown and Coke. I had to take a large step over that to then consider reading on.

The book is an interesting story with all-encompassing dialogue and emotion of the need that Jen, Keith, and Jason have for each other. It’s a bit complicated because we don’t get the full story. In that opening scene, we don’t know who Keith’s partner is, but if you read the blurb, it’s clear. After that, we get snippets of the trio’s past history, but we do not get any backstory on Keith and Jason’s relationship, which has been going on for the past 15 years. We are told some of it and we are told how Keith fought against the realization that he is bisexual, but we are only told how Jason and Keith feel about each other and that was a missed opportunity as the book revolves around the sexual tension between the three of them and the tension between them as couples.

This is the first book I have read by this author and it for sure wont be my last. I loved this book so much. The poly representation in this book was on point. Even though Jen was joining an established male/male couple she fit right in perfectly. She has a history with these two men. A history that has never gone away for any of them. Jen, Keith and Jason all share real and true feelings for one another. They all have this insane chemistry that allows them to fit so perfectly together. The love in this story is so beautiful and so real. Jen, Keith and Jason all crave the love they have together. If one is not there there is a piece of the relationship missing. I loved this book so very much and I am dying to read the next one in the series!

I received a copy of this book from Gay Romance Reviews, and this is my honest review.

I know for many people the whole concept of polyamorous relationships can be difficult to grasp, and IMHO at least, MMF romance has always been a couple with an 'add-on'. But truly polyamorous relationships do exist and a truly a multi-loving relationship, all be it with it's own set of complications. I loved the fact that Call Me Sugar dealt with this, this wasn't just a married couple who wanted to spice up their sex life, it was a truly loving group of three people who were very much in love with each other, and for any one part of that happy jigsaw to be missing weakens the whole relationship for all of them.
If you're not into BDSM, be warned, the BDSM is dark and intense, this isn't a slap on your butt type of BDSM. But the love and passion drips from every single word.
All in all this is a beautifully crafted story, giving a glimpse into a multi loving relationship and the very real challenges they face.

A story full of heat and steam. The character are interesting and have sizzling chemistry. They all fit well together. You will read till the end to see what will happen with them, will they get their happy ever after? This is the first book in this series, looking to see where this series will go. This is a new author for me and I will be on the lookout for more.

Just... I don't know..

Sort of spoiler:

She never should have gone back. This should not have been an MMF. She should have left them to be together. They were together, deeply in love for 15 years. She broke them up. It was heartbreaking and sad. She was awful and selfish. I kept waiting for her to do the right thing. Just...no. Jason was the only one trying to do the right thing. But it was the wrong thing. The other two just sucked.

This is the first book in this series filled with drama and emotion. Jen ends up moving back home and runs into her past. Keith and Jason went to high school together and are now a couple. Keith and Jen have always had feeling for each other but can they make this work, the tree of them together? Fast-paced read with loads of drama and tons of emotion. Great characters with lots of depth plenty of twists and turns. I liked it.

I liked Jen from the first and sympathsized with her frustration at moving from the city back to the small town. As her relationships rekindled with Keith and Jason and she finds out about their long term relationship it was interesting to see them try to work out how they would all three be together. I liked that the author made it tricky and not easy. I look forward to seeing what happens in book two.

This story was super intense. I enjoyed that everything wasn't sugar coated. All of the characters acknowledged that not only was their relationship outside the mainstream but there could be serious problems for them. And the sex scenes are not only hot but well written and the cliffhanger has me invested in how this is all going to work out for them all. Part two can not be released soon enough!
