Mistletoe Magic

Rate this book
At the Christmas Eve masquerade ball, Evelyn plans to lure the charming and handsome Michael underneath the mistletoe and show him just how much she likes him. With a single, earth-shattering kiss, she's certain he'll finally realize she's the only girl for him. Little does she know, her childhood friend, Colin, has the same plans for Evelyn. Neither her crush on another man, nor her near escape from falling through the ice in a frozen pond will stand in Colin's way. They'll both need the magic of a mistletoe kiss, but only one of them will succeed in their plans.

You can't go wrong with a Donna Hatch story. Mistletoe Magic is a cute, regency romance about Evelyn, who is determined to kiss her special someone at the Christmas Eve Masquerade. Colin, her childhood friend, has a secret love for her. cute, clean, fun, and a perfect read for this busy time of year. My only complaint--it was over too quickly. I wish it was longer.

This was a fun Christmas read that hit the spot. Of course with all other short stories...a little is never enough--I always want more. :)

Sweet story and well written

I checked this out on a whim and then realized it was a short story, not a novel. I'm so glad for my "mistake" because this was such an enjoyable story!

Mistletoe Magic: A Christmas Regency Short Story by Donna Hatch
Love the reference to hand knitted muffler at the beginning of this book. Love very detailed
descriptions of the group skating on ice. Brought back memories of the family and relative
children skating on the cow ponds in the fields below our house each winter.
Race on the ice leads to a tragedy that could've been worse.
I am very happy the knitted muffler and others came to the rescue.
After Colin saved Evelyn's life he thought about how he would win her over from the one she had set her eyes on:Michael.
Artwork on the floor sounds exquisite!
Love descriptions of the flowers and mistletoe. I can almost smell them. At the masquerade ball Evelyn thought she knew Micheal was one wearing a half gold mask. There were a lot there with that particular mask on. She danced with many but wanted to find him and get him under the mistletoe.
Colin wanted to get Evelyn under the mistletoe.
She danced and talked to who she thought was Michael and made plans for the dinner waltz and then they'd site down to dinner together. Dance finally over and they strolled to the dinner, through mistletoe arch where they kissed. upon removing their masks she found out she had been deceived and ran away.
Colin reveals something to Evie and she had a confession to make after full realization hit.
Very happy ending, that mistletoe was magic.
I rate this book a 5, very touching holiday story.

It's 1813 in England where all dating/courting rules are very proper...
That is except for the upcoming Christmas Eve masquerade ball, where masks are worn and mistletoe hangs...
Then one could flirt and lure and kiss in hopes of winning the heart of that someone special...
The one who doesn't see you without the mask on...
Can Evelyn win the heart of Michael with a kiss under the mistletoe?
Or will Colin get Evelyn under the mistletoe first and show that he is now more than the childhood friend she grew up with.
Perfect read during the Christmas season.

Donna Hatch is a fairly new author for me. I have read a couple of books from her now and I will read more as she is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors; especially for Regency Romances.

I love Donna Hatch's writing and her books are fun and marvelous. I hate these little teasers of a novel. You get into the characters and you love them and the next thing you know the story is over. I know it was meant to be a short story but it seemed things were to rushed after the mistletoe scene.

Donna I need a longer book. I am excited for your next novel!

Can the mistletoe work it's magic and open Evelyn's eyes to true love at the Christmas ball? You'll have to read this short Regency romance to find out. Told with Regency romance author Donna Hatch's usual dash and charm, this tale is best read with Christmas cheer and a steaming cup of wassail. A sweet, short read to kick off the Christmas season.

I'm dying for a new novel from Donna Hatch! Short stories are not my personal favorite because I always wish they were longer, but if I'm going to read a short story, I want it to be one of Donna's because she's a master at creating sigh-worthy chemistry in just a few pages. Such a sweet, quick read for Christmas!

A Charming Short Story

This was a fun charming short story filled with Christmas cheer, friendship and romance. I thoroughly enjoy an unexpected friends to lovers romance especially with a little mistletoe thrown in.

I didn't like this novella as much as Donna's other novella "Constant Hearts". I did like it but I didn't feel the connection to the characters as much and the ending was a bit rushed.

It's hard to find a lot of time for reading during Christmas, so I love all the short stories they are offering now on amazon. This one was good- just not great. 3 1/2 Stars

Very short & sweet Regency Christmas novella -- love all the little details that give you a sense of the historical time period! Wish it was longer!
