RUBY RUMIÉ: Tejiendo Calle | Weaving Streets

This book gathers together life stories, routes and photographic results, the artist Ruby Rumie carried out for two years, with fifty street vendors from the city of Cartagena in Colombia. Through this project the artist sought to highlight their knowledge and beauty by putting a distance between them and the exotic representations of touristic postcards, the way they are usually identified, and presenting them under a new light as well as their experiences and different elements concerning their labor. A new point of view which allows to transform the encounter between the spectators and these women and probably theirs with themselves.
