What I thought would happen during my time at Monster Academy: long walks on the beach, a murder spree or two, and find a nice vampire to settle down with.
What actually happened during my time at Monster Academy: kidnapped by my headmaster and later by my sadistic sister, developed feelings for an eccentric group of monsters, and accidentally started an anti-vampire movement. Oh, and discovered I might not actually be a vampire.
My dad—Dracula—is being evasive and refusing to answer my questions. And hate groups are popping up around campus, determined to eliminate all vampires once and for all.
If that wasn’t enough to deal with, the Roaring is fast approaching, and I’m determined to prove that I have what it takes.
The only problem? The Roaring is a competition that embodies both physical strength and mental intelligence—both of which I lack. Three games. Over one hundred competitors. One winner.
Time to play with the monsters.
This is a dark comedy reverse harem romance that features strong language, violence, and sexual situations. Get ready to embrace your inner-psycho.
I couldn’t handle this, I know I’ve read Katie May before but this was…bad. Like actually awful. The fMC is a clumsy, not very bad ass vampire who 100% knows her limitations. Still decided to compete in the roaring, to prove herself? To who? Why? She’s heard the men call her their mate several times now but somehow she’s never heard it??? And neither of the men have realized they’re all her mates either. So she’s shocked af when one of them confess it for the first time (in his case) and avoids him for a week. She’s apparently psychopathic…. How? Seriously how? The actions and dialogue are…bad and make little sense. By the time I stopped reading, only about a month and a half has passed since the beginning of the first book. The plot moves too fast but it still reads like nothing ever happens or is ever fleshed out for a majority of the time. I just can’t anymore. Nothing is logical, it’s like writing your characters to fit your story and not writing a story for your characters…
⭐️⭐️💫 2.5 Stars for Storyline/Plot ⭐️⭐️ 2 Stars for Enjoyment
At this point I’m pretty much only reading this story because I’m bored, but I’m still contemplating if I’m REALLY this bored.
Not much plot progression in this book. Basically, the only things that happened were: 1) They competed in trials 2) We find out FMC’s real heritage. Mild relationship drama and FMC being a damsel in distress also included.
There still hasn’t been much, if any, world-building.
Very, very minuscule relationship development happening. As far as the spiciness... In the first book FMC only kisses and grinds against one of her guys. In this book they’ve graduated to oral. No sex so far in this series.
This is supposed to be a “dark comedy” but I feel like it’s missing both of those qualities. It’s not funny at all. At the VERY MOST this book is mildly amusing. I think the FMC, with her one brain cell, is supposed to be hilarious. I just don’t find the “dumb blonde” trope funny at all. FMC even admits that she’s stupid while she’s being completely serious!
I was hoping for some psychotic and monstrous characters, but unfortunately they’re all pretty tame. I wanted a bloodthirsty FMC, or at least one who didn’t cry and stop fighting while she’s being assaulted. I could have even forgiven the author for making another stereotypical clumsy FMC who can’t walk without tripping on air…but there just isn’t anything redeemable about her or the series.
Cliffhanger ending.
This is still an extremely underwhelming story. I’m not sure if I’m bored enough to read (or skim) through the next one.
There are different ways to read and experience a book. I know quite a lot of people who see movies in their heads. Just like I know quite a lot of people reading to explore new worlds. I'm reading to feel something. I want emotions. I want characters I can befriend or fall in love with. And it feels like Katie May's way of writing is the perfect fit for me. I'm therefore slowly making my way through her entire backlist. Any bets how long it will take me to catch up?
This book was once more a rollercoaster from start to finish. There is so much going on, there is so much happening and there is also quite a lot of action in this one. It's quite clear that the supernatural world has become a dangerous place for vampires. They're hated and everyone wants them to die. Which means that being Dracula's daughter brings a lot of people to you who act like you're the one who has personally wronged them. And they're not afraid to hurt you.
The hatred towards the vampires in this book hurts. Firstly because this kind of hatred ALWAYS hurts me. I really can't deal with injustice in any way. But even more because Violet is maybe one of the sweetest, cutest and most caring characters you will ever meet. She's the kind of girl always putting others first. If she might have to harm or kill anyone, she will always try to find a different route and even if she would want to get violent she would trip over her own feet doing so.
It's impossible not to love Violet. And it seems that fate thought the exact same thing. We already met quite a lot of guys clearly in love with our vampire girl, but in this book the group of admirers even grows. Normally I don't do well with so many important characters, but May manages to bring them all to life, to make them all feel real. Not only can I remember their names, already a big deal, but I can also tell you everything about their personalities and inner monsters.
That cliffhanger was brutal though. I can't wait to read the next book!
I may be giving away my age but do you remember Monster High? Yeah?, well this series is what Monster High wants to be when it grows up. Welcome to the grown up version of Monster High my dears, put on your seatbelt because you are in for one heck of a ride!!
I’d like to start out by saying I’m reviewing both Monsters and Roaring. Usually I’d stop between books to write a review for the prior one in the series before starting the next... Prodigium Academy didn’t let me do that. Instead I found myself finishing book one in a little over four hours and immediately jumping into book two...at four o’clock in the morning.
Katie May has built a world so captivating that it demands your full attention and refuses to give up it’s hold on you. Monsters near and far are probably fighting to get their hands on a copy of these books! The characters are all phenomenally written and the world building is just out of this universe. I’ll likely be her number one stalker until book three comes out! I need answers people!
If my long winded declarations of love aren’t enough to sway you then maybe the icing on the cake will, Violet is a complete klutz! There’s not a stealthy bone in that girl’s body and it only makes me love her more! Gah, I simply can’t say enough about this series. Go pick it up now!
Still loving this series.. even if things are getting a tad murky up in here. Dorian though... ahem yea well. Is anyone else a little confused about which guys we are going to end up with? I mean cupid and Boogie? Are we friend zoning them? because I don't know I'm just getting all the vibes.
Violet and her entourage are in it even deeper as bullies and hate crowds start really going at it around the school. Everyone is anti vampire it seems except the dudes. Despite all that, Merlin's kid is over here creating Violet look alike sex dolls.. This girl can't seem to catch a break ya'll. The Roaring is approaching and despite our new headmaster forbidding us to enter, we have decided we need to prove our mettle and join in the trials. Only the roaring is turning out to be way more intense than we first thought and Violet herself is more than just a vampire... maybe not even a vampire? Some crazy reveals here in Book 2 but where is this all leading?
Of course this freaking series is unfinished.. I mean it would be since.. you know.. I decided to read it and all. I guess this will go in the pile of all the other series that of course aren't completed. Can't stand having to wait...

So far, Violet's time at Monster Academy is going well, sort of.
She was blamed for several murders,
Kidnapped by the headmaster and later on by her sadistic teacher which is, surprise, her sister,
Developed feelings for a group of monsters,
Was maybe betrayed by one of the guys she is falling for,
Swore off men,
Was the focus of an anti-vampire growing movement
And discovered she might not be a vampire.
All with the minimum of embarrassing moments, not minimum actually but totally planned, only not.
Despite trying several times, her father, Dracula, continues to be evasive and ignoring her and her questions.
Every day is becoming more and more dangerous to be a vampire with the hate groups growing strength.
And to make it worse, the Roaring is coming.
For most, the Roaring are exciting games to witness full of bloodshed but, for those who take part, it is a deadly competition with more than one hundred adversaries where only just a few are able to survive.
Violet is not Violet if she is not in the middle of it all: focus of the vampire-hate group and part of the Roaring.
Luckily, she has the help of the guys - Vin, Frankie, Mason, Jack and Hux -, her new friends Cal, the Cupid, and Barret, the boogeyman, and her attractive, enigmatic teacher Dimitri, son of Dorian Gray, who also seems interested in keeping her alive.

Notes:
🔸 Interesting take on mythology, legends and monsters
All sort of beings interact with each other here.
🔸Funny scenes
A bit of dark humour, where being a monster is the norm and stabbing or eating people is normal. Meshed that with a deranged, cute girl with a propensity to blabber, being distracted by anything and saying awkward things but it is okay because the guys always think she is adorable.
Hux cracks me up. The scenes with him are pretty cute and hilarious. "The great period" is top.
🔸Special one
The FMC is a special girl, everything goes effortlessly well even through all the chaos surrounding her. People love or hate her. Obviously the guys love her or are obsessed with her right from the start.
🔸 Incoherent and strange plot twists/lines and Inconsistencies
There are plenty of scenes and lines that change in ways that do not make much sense. Almost as if the author changed their mind in the middle and didn't bother to check if it made sense or was consistent or had the proper foundations to support the change.
For example:
-The games Weird. Can anybody participate? Then why is the academy organising them? There is no real objective to the games, just a bunch of monsters put together and trying to kill each other and that is not the purpose. Just messy. They are no fighting because they are trying to get to the prize nor is it a kill-or-be-killed type of competition where the top killer is the winner.
- Dimitri and Dracula were the winners of one of the previous Roaring games but then they interact as if they never met before.
- Detention: supposedly it is a terrible punishment, where only the worst are sent to but then what is shown appears to be more of a time-out/isolation type of punishment where nothing is going on. Apparently those who live on the upper levels of the academy are monsters who committed terrible crimes and thus are sentenced for hundreds of years to live there. Sentenced for hundreds of years! But not so bad they are sentenced to prison...huh?! They are so terrible that the academy punishes their students by sending them there for detention. It is said to be sent to detention is an horrible, unspeakable fate. There is to be torture and truly impossible to escape unarmed.
- Cal and Barret are two of the monsters sentenced to permanently live in the upper levels of the academy. Initially they appear very intimidating with Cal sexually violating those he can catch and him and Barret torturing anyone they find there. But then, later on, it is said that Cal only had willing partners and Barret is a sweetheart who understands everything literally. Basically making them more appealing as future romantic interests for sure. Maybe a bad attempt at creating some morally grey MCs?
- Violet torture It was something serious. It shows what hate can lead to but then it is treated very lightly in this story. This was a traumatic event that scars someone for life, being overpowered and tortured for no reason but existing. But here, when the MC decides to overcome it and not let it stop her then that's it, no more baggage. Magic! So much so that she doesn't even hesitate in being alone with only Frankie or just one of the other guys outside where what happened before can happen again. She never doubts they can keep her safe, even if the past proved them wrong (as they weren't enough to keep her safe). Nor does she have a second thought before going to the club again where she was taken from and tortured before. Even if she overcame what happened to her that quickly, it would be expected she would have at least a passing thought about what she went through in that place.
And plenty of stupid decisions and unbelievable, unsupported and out of the blue scenes taking part during the worst time possible.

As always my complete respect for the author and their work. No hate nor hurt intended with this review.

This book made me laugh so much! I love this series and am ready for more! I am really intrigued by Cal and Alex and what could possibly be in store for them in the next book. And I just love all the new twists and turns. Get a few questions answered and recieve several more in their place.
I read almost straight through that book. It was so hard to put down. One of the best books I have read in a very long time. I could not believe when I saw I was at 85% already. Can't wait to read the next one! Starting now!! Highly recommend this series!!
I enjoyed book one months ago but I think I’ve reached a point that I’ll probably never pick up Katie May again. I’m not a fan of the OTT characters and humor etc. Sometimes less is more.
Also this just got weird, if I’m being completely honest. AND I just finished binge reading my favorite monster series and this pales in comparison.
This could have been any other college RH romance. There was really nothing that set this book apart from other books and it was supposed to be about supernatural characters. The h was an emotional mess not a tough girl like I was expecting her to be.
I really loved this book and this series in general so much. The really only complaint I have with this one is the major info drop we got at the end right before we thrown off the cliff and left hanging, Katie ma'am that was a little rude if I do say so 😂. I did like how we got to learn more about Violet and the guys throughout this one, even if we were left with more questions than answers (my main one being who all exactly are her mates and are there going to be more popping out of the woodwork as we progress more through the books??). Overall I loved this book and Violet is quite the funny monster that makes these books so enjoyable.
3.5 While these books aren't perfect. I'm really enjoying them while reading. I'd like for Violet to be less dumb & clumsy, but oh well. I do like all the men, though... and there are a lot. 😅
Bereft & epitome. They're overused throughout, and it's driving me crazy.
I also think these books have been edited/updated because what I read isn't matching up with some reviews. I.e. things happened that other people have said didn't happen.
This second book in Katie May's new series is even better than the first!
Readers are once again united with Violet and all the other monsters at the academy, and it's time for the Roaring to begin. The stakes are high in these games, and it'll take every ounce of cunning, precision and physical as well as mental strength, to come out alive.
I honestly don't know what I can say that'll bring justice to this amazing book. My words fail me so I'll just say this: If you're not reading these books, you're missing out.
WAIT. I truly adored this book! When I realized it was actually a slow-build harem,I absolutely squealed with delight. I hadn’t even considered that Barret and Cal would be in the group; I was originally getting friend vibes and now I can totally see it.
Also, I need to know if Alex is going to be like an enemy to lovers sitch?? He’s this sexy tatted bad boy, who has it out for Vi and makes her shit her pants to embarrass her.. RUDE. He “killed” Barret to save Violet but little did she know, he made a plan to get them both out alive and unharmed. So he’s on her team and he obv cares for her (*cough mate*), which alludes to him likely being part of her harem of monsters; I mean…having a necromancer in your corner is deff helpful and he’s a hottie with a body, which certainly doesn’t hurt.
Completely fucking enamoured with Dimitri. First, Frankie gave him a little show with Violet at the club; which completely bottomed out my stomach, in the very best way. Then, when Violet came out of the first round of the Roaring alive, he quite literally couldn’t contain his emotions. Yeah, he went down on her in his new headmaster office and it was, in a word, GLORIOUS. The tension that has been building between the two of them has come to a sort of head (pun, not intended but heh, it works); and seeing some of their walls crumble for each other was absolutely worth wait.
Also, what in the fresh hell is going on with Jack/Hux? They have ANOTHER (evil) alter ego / brother?? Thus, both Jack/Hux have been trapped in the dark place in their mind since the first round of the Roaring!?! The guys have just noticed how weird he is acting by the end of the book; but, I did wonder why hadn’t Violet spoken to him yet???
So so so much has been going on with the plot that it’s definitely keeping me on my toes! Here’s what we know: - Violet is not a vampire or the bio daughter of Dracula - Violet is the bio daughter of Hera (queen of gods) and Lucifer (the original monster) - Violet’s monster species is unknown atm; which makes things very exciting for the final book (can’t wait to see what she can do!) - Medusa (Masons mom) has it out for her (probably bc she’s fucking Zeus?? Or something related to that); and sabotages her second round in the Roaring Which brings us to the end of the book ….
In her second round, Violet is pulled into a room with her father (finally, the fucker has been beyond absent) and Dimitri. This is when Vi finds out that she’s not his daughter by blood; but he makes it clear that she is his, in every other way that matters. *single tear* Drac explains her true biological history and informs her that the entire world would legit try to kill her if they knew who she truly was… Just perfect.
It’s then that the room erupts in flames (courtesy of Medusa et al) and next thing she knows, Violet is watching the murder of the only father she’s ever known. Drac daddy dies by a god-blessed blade and Dimitri rushes to protect Violet, only to be knocked out in the process (he better be alive and well!). Medusa then enters with her men in black and they escort Violet to somewhere we have yet to discover. Bring it on BITCH.
When the guys realize with utter horror that Violet doesn’t make it out of the second round, they are absolutely devastated and completely shocked. They will stop at nothing to find their mate and bring her back safe and sound.
What a fucking rollercoaster of a book! I absolutely loved it and I know that closing out this series with the final instalment will be bittersweet. This series has taken me by surprise and completely blown me away! The story is totally unique and the writing itself was beautifully done - witty, hilarious, descriptive, and cohesive.
It’s a gem of a find, indeed.

Katie May's Prodigium Academy series definitely has more angst and mystery going for it than some of her other books. The heroine, Violet, has a lot to overcome and in this book, we see her grow quite a lot compared to the first. Also, her harem keeps growing as well ;)
There's certainly never a dull moment, and just when you think you know what's going to happen next, you get b*tch-slapped by a flaccid dildo, so don't get too comfortable thinking the plot will go the way you expect. But that's not a bad thing! I loved the way this book turned out. In the middle, I was feeling angsty about it, but by the end, I realized it was all necessary for Violet's growth and the story's progression.
10/10 would recommend, as I do all of Katie May's books!
I am all for humor. I enjoy dark humor. Crude humor. Silly humor. You name it. This book though? Crude for the sake of being crude. It’s not funny. The amount of time her sex bot is referenced is ridiculous. I still can’t sort out about 30% into the 2nd book if she realizes they’re all her mates…or not. There is just no plot here. It has promise, but seriously this whole book is nonsensical and I just can’t believe I’ve wasted my time here.
I've been waiting for this book to come out and I was not disappointed! Such a great story line and the banter in this book cracks me up. The ending though....gawh. I have a massive book hanger from the ending. Dying to know what happened.
🧛♀️ Violet Dracula-Dracula’s clumsy, eccentric daughter. She is revealed to be the mate of Frankie, Mason, Vin, Hux, and Jack.

👬🏻Jack-the kinder alter-ego of Hux. He is more level-headed than his brother and refuses to use swear words or resort to violence.

Y’all, what the heck was that cliffhanger?!?? Dracula.!?!? Dimitri?!?! Jack, Hux?!?! Violet?!?! Cal??? The truth about Violet's family?!?! Medusa?!?! In this book there was more spice, new enemies, vampire hate, attempted murders, the roaring competition begins, strange occurrences with Jack and Hux, ominous warnings about the roaring, Dracula's absence, a certain death in the roaring 👀. I loved that there was more relationship development in this book along with more spice. She had spicy times with almost all of her men and wow 🥵🥵. Especially with her and Vin in that one scene 🥵🥵.Frankie and Violet went on a date 🥹🥹, it just sucked that something bad happened after. I cannot wait to keep reading the series, like I never want to leave this world. I had read a different book between book 1 and book 2, and I missed the world so much, especially our crazy FMC violet.
Favorite quotes/scenes: “I’ve known them for less than two months, and already, I can’t remember my life before them. They have embedded themselves so deeply in my soul that I’m beginning to think they’re a part of my genetic makeup.”
“Hux demands to know who you’re scared of. He offered to… He offered to find the… errr… perpetrator, hang them by their toenails, and gut their innards. Then, you’ll dance together in their blood beneath a full moon.” (Jack speaking for Hux) I practically fucking swoon. Bloody moonlit dances? I need to take a fan to my overheated ovaries. (Violet)
Mason: thinking of you. Dinner tonite? Violet: Not if you don’t learn how to spell. Mason: weirdo Violet: Takes one to know one. Mason: so, seriously, dinner? I’ll eat your pussy Mason: damn autocorrect. I meant I’ll buy you pizza.
“When I first understood the reasons for my feelings—that she was made specifically for me—I wanted to sing it from the rooftops. Confess my feelings to the sun and moon. Violet? She had run. Taking my entire heart with her.”
“Hey, homegirl. What’s baking in the oven?” (Dracula) “Oh my god. Are you going through a phase again?” (Violet) “Just keeping it kewl and on the downlow, homie. Now, waz shaking?” (Dracula) This is Dracula, my friends. The most feared monster in the entire world.
“I care about Violet, and that’s it. She’s my mate, my other half, a puzzle piece that was created in the heavens to fill the emptiness constantly plaguing me.” (Mason)
“Does she not know yet that she’s my stars and my moon? My sun? My entire world?” (Frankie)
“When I’m in Violet’s presence, I’m not Dimitri Gray the headmaster, Dimitri Gray the assassin, or Dimitri Gray the monster. I’m hers. And I hate it.”
“You’re such a freak, Violet. But you’re my freak. My beautiful, perfect freak.”
“I told you this before, and I’ll tell you again—you look beautiful. You look like everything I have ever wanted. Like the sun and the moon and the stars. I could live in darkness for all of eternity if you’re by my side.” (Hux)
“I once stabbed myself with a fork. Accidentally, of course, but that shit hurt like a bitch. It took me an hour to remove it from my neck. Honestly, I have no idea how I missed my mouth that bad. Pure skill, perhaps. Pure fucking skill.” (Violet 🤦♀️🤣)
“Did your petty ass really kidnap a baby to prove a point?” (Vin) “Mason is the father.” “Hell, yes! My sperm is so badass, it doesn’t even need to enter a vagina to work its magic.” (Mason)
“What am I going to do with you?” (Dracula) “Nothing, because you chose me and you can’t return me now.” (Violet) “I wouldn’t want to. You’re my daughter, and I love you.” (Dracula 🥹🥹)
This book definitely FELT a bit different than the last one. There were still funny moments galore, but for some reason it didn't feel as consuming as the last one.
And don't get me wrong - I love Violet and her clumsiness but there's only so much a girl can take, y'know? Like the most FRUSTRATING part of this book was when Violet and Frankie were being attacked and in her inner monologue, Violet was saying things like "Knights in shining armor aren’t real. If you want to survive, you have to save yourself. You have to embrace your inner monster and be the beast you hate." And after that invigorating message, she proceeds to get cut into and bitched out basically. It's just like I understand Violet supposedly has most of her powers suppressed but girly literally cannot save herself even ONCE she just relies on other people to do it for her. It was funny when it was her own fault, like running into a flag pole head first and having the guys help her up, but when its a serious, blood curdling situation like this she STILL can't even defend herself despite her super speed and strength it's just the thing I hate most about her character. Be clumsy, be goofy and aloof but for the love of God PLEASE learn to fight.
Despite my heavy critique, I did really enjoy this book. As I said, it's definitely lower on my ranking of favorites than the last one is but its still the same characters we know and love PLUS and addition named Alex who I ALMOST lost my shit over when I Barret and Cupid better stay ALIVE and HAPPY or I'm gonna be PISSED. And then ofc we have to put up with all the angry older parental monsters - like get your own lifeeeeee. You're literally Medusa wtf are you doing trying to kill a teenage girl dude.
Anyways, I will definitely continue reading. I give this book a 4/5 instead of a 5/5 because of the moments that just irk me so bad I can't stand it. However, the humor is still present and the relationships between everyone are still growing - So I am still very much interested. I just want Violet to become OP and bitch everyone out fr
Please reference my review for book 1. This is where it all starts going downhill.
Dracula, the most geared monster in the monster world, texts like a 13 year old. And talks like an 8 year old. Yep.
Zeus is written like a 10 year old. The god of all gods acts like a child. Literally. He wants to play video games with Violet. When she gets distracted and they die (in the game…), he acts out like a petulant child. Screaming. Throwing the controller. Needs cajoling from Violet. Like come on…
Nobody is serious in this series and it’s glaringly obvious in boom 2.
Again I say, this is written like a high school drama. Nothing is serious. Violet randomly says sexual things that are completely unnecessary (read cringe-y). Characters that are supposedly high level and serious are written like children. It really starts to get hard to read in book 2.
But 3 stars because I still devoured this book. I really want to know what happens plot wise.
Also, can’t remember if it’s book 1 or 2, but the first sexy scene with Vin was horribly disgusting. If an MMC stuck his fingers up the FMCs butt without any discussion, preamble, expectations from the FMC, the reviewers would be raising their pitchforks. But it seems ok for the FMC to assault one of the MMCs? I was disgusted that the author thought it was ok to have Violet shove her fingers in Vins butt while they’re kissing. Again NO conversation about this, just straight up “SURPRISE!” That’s assault. 🤷♀️ And after that it’s decided VIN likes to be dommed. Again, where the fuck is the discussion on what is ok or not ok.
Okay so I'm going against my usual review style here again because I've come to the realization that when reading a series, if one book sucks (especially the last book) then I don't want to get into the series. So I feel it's more important to review a book based on the series in its entirety instead. So here goes ...
Prodigium Academy (as a series) is very cute and well written. The storyline and plot are well thought out and also organized very well. Each book and chapter have a direct focus and the plot twists are very intriguing and entertaining. I was pleased when the ending offered three epilogues to show various stages of the future, which also made for a well rounded ending.
I liked the world that was created for the main character and her mates, and i think each character developed nicely throughout the series. Yeah some side quests within the story were a bit excessive and felt unnatural but I still have to admit i BALLED my eyes out during the final book. Full on ugly cries too.
Regarding every single character, the author did a great job following through on their own storylines and tied everything up nicely in the end. While i skimmed a lot throughout this entire series, i did enjoy it very much. If you're a smut-only reader this may not be the series for you... despite its decent amount of spice, i didn't think those scenes were well conducted and felt quite forced most of the time.
I thought this was a duet!! Gah! I was not prepared for the cliffhanger at the end! For some reason I thought that this was the last book, and I’m glad I was wrong, but I was not prepared! I loved the first book so of course I dove headfirst into the second. It is fantastic. It picks up right where book one left off with her kidnapping. The chemistry between Violet and a few of the guys comes to a head and the resulting steamy scenes are delicious. With the Roaring fast approaching Violet and the guys need to prepare themselves. The anti-vampire movement is picking up steam fast. Violet is as clumsy and hilarious as ever. There are some hints that her harem is growing but there’s still quite a bit of guesswork- and of course we are left waiting for the next book to know more. We start to get some answers but there are still a lot of questions left by the time the end rolls around. I’m really glad I found this series and I hope the third book comes out soon, I’m dying to know what happens!! I'll leave you with this wonderful quote from Roaring:
"We have trouble seeing past our flaws and mistakes, our transgressions and sins. By dressing up, we’re donning a mask—one we’re capable of removing whenever we so feel the need. It’s our battle armor and our sword. Our shield and our convoy. It’s a way for us to see the beauty the rest of the world already sees."
I was so excited to start book 2 of the Prodigium Academy series and I was not disappointed! So many thinngs happened, it was crazy.
Violet is still as funny as she is insane, and I love her so much! We finally get to know who are Violet's real parents and what it entails. The poor girl was already harassed and hunted, but I have a feeling it's going to get worse...
I was so happy to discover that Dimitri seems to be one of Violet's mates, and that scene in his office was hot af! I can't seem to decide if I want Cal and Barret to be part of her harem as well. I love them so much and they are so protective of Violet, they are adorable. And I swear I almost threw a fit about Barret but I knew Katie wouldn't do that to us! I'm so intrigued about Hux and Jack's third... personality? I don't know how to call that third person, but I want to know who he is and what's is goal! (Maybe he's the one who stole V's venom...) Vin, Mason, and Frankie are also so protective of Violet, they're so cute! They make really good mates!
But that ending... I cannot wait to read the third book, whenever it comes out, I know it'll be worth the wait!

3.5 stars. Violets story is a bit choppy for me and takes a bit to get going. It’s a lot of mundane things going on a lot of bread crumb clues dropped but not enough knowledge to know what’s going on or form conclusions. I love Violets men but I can’t quite tell who all is in the harem. I’m not sure why everyone has such a problem with Violet or vampires in general. I still feel in the dark and like I have not enough information. Mason’s mother Medusa has a prophecy but yet I don’t think she realizes she might be the actual cause of the prophecy coming to fruition. Vin needs to deal with his parents, and the thing with Jack and Hux is fascinating, I hope they can figure out the issue together. I really like Barett and Cal and really hope they are part of the mate harem. The Roaring wasn’t even concluded when the book finished and I feel like naming a book the roaring without finishing it but also alluding to many things happening to Violet during said Roaring is some what annoying and ridiculous. Still the end left us on a cliffhanger.
