Go into Hell, the hot demons said. It’ll be no big deal, they said.
I was only supposed to walk through a Hellish Ring or two so we could find out my demonic origin. Easy peasy, Right? Wrong.
Now I’m alone, locked up in some freak’s dungeon, and mourning the loss of my demons.
Could they have done the impossible and survived the attack? Can they find me here? I don’t even know where here is. And…why the hell do I have wings?
I don’t have time for this shit. I need to figure out what I am, where I am, and how to get out of here. Because I have a Hellgate to guard and my demons to search for, and nobody is going to stand in my way. Not even the Devil himself.
Ivy Asher is addicted to chai, swearing, and laughing a lot (but not in a creepy, laughing alone kind of way). She loves the snow, books, and her family of two humans, and three fur-babies. She has worlds and characters just floating around in her head, and she's lucky enough to be surrounded by amazing people who support that kind of crazy.
DNF @ 32%. I was hoping Delta would become less annoying in the second book but unfortunately, that wasn't the case. I can't handle the constant meltdowns and basically tantrums that she throws. She's very immature, bratty, self-centered, and just unlikeable. I don't understand why the demons are so obsessed with her at all.
Everything was stoopid!!! The plot was stoopid The humor was stoopid The long drawn out triplet reveal was stoopid The wings with a mind of their own was stoopid The h was the stoopidest The end
This second book was fast-paced here Delta discovers more about her origins and just what she’s capable of she also grew some very pretty purple wings to match her cool hair. Delta and her guardians also moved on to the next level of their relationship after she claimed them all further securing their bond together. This one was super sexy with plenty of hot action and the innuendos and humour was abundant.
Delta still has an enemy gunning for her due to her new powerful status and this enemy wants to use her to steal power from Lucifer. There was also a big bombshell dropped right at the end of this which will definitely shake things up for the next book in the series.
Though this didn't strike quite the same impact as it's predecessor it was still an enjoyable experience. I'll admit I did the start to skim the sexy bits somewhat as there is quite a lot. I do like the bond that has developed between this Harem and the humour is still appealing to me.
3 stars Again the main character was just so childish and never took any responsibility for her actions. This aggravated me so much and I think I’m done with this series 😂.
This was a fun followup to the last book. Luckily this time around Delta has her big girl panties on and wasn't such a sissy. In fact much of the book takes place in hell because still no one has an inkling of what Delta is or who her real parents are and they need to find out. We get some answers and along with them came more questions of course. Delta does gain herself some badass purple wings that match her hair. (Find it odd that two of the book covers show her purple hair but none her wings. :( ) I liked the pacing of the story, there was a lot of little story-lines working themselves among the larger plot. Delta and her men have to decide if being a gatekeeper is actually in the cards for her. If so they'll be bound together for life-and given they're immortal, that could be a long ass time! We get to meet Lucifer who takes a quick liking to Delta even though her crazy ass tries to kill him lol. My biggest complaint about the book is the heroines' inner and outer dialogue. She's so funny and outlandish in her head but it only resonates out occasionally. Kind of felt like she was two different people and I wish she had more of a word vomit problem because she's snarky and hilarious. As for their relationship, things progress way out of the dream realm into reality. It certainly helps that Jerif dropped the stick out of his ass and he's finally somewhat cordial-the butler however is still another matter entirely. There was a minor (in comparison to the last book) cliffhanger and I'm not sure where the story will go from here. The ending felt as if the series was wrapping itself up when there are still two books to go, so I'm eager to see what's next for Delta and her men. *** Turns out the next two are actually about a new heroine so makes sense on why things felt like they were wrapping up...
Has my opinion changed if it comes to enjoying the Reverse Harem settings? Nope But do I want to read another book in this story? Heck, yeah.
I'll say it one more time. I am possessive and I don't share, I would never expect my partner to be any different. Even better if he's alpha on me. So... I won't understand this concept. Yes, it does sound hot at times but then I bring the meme picture in my mind of that tiny blond girl sitting on the couch and 4-5 fine black males standing around her. Yes, it's a clip from a porn, but also it does not appears pleasing to me.
So where do I stand with this series? Well, once you half close your eyes, skip a few pages, you will get an interesting story about a balance between Heaven and Hell. How they cooperate. How they make the world work. An interesting concept where actually there is more badness than good but who am I to judge? It's still a nice and engaging plot. I would cut off a few curse words but other than that I have nothing more to say.
Except, maybe... What the heck is wrong with these cliffhangers? And why do I have to wait for another book for so long?
Grave Consequences is the second installment within the Hellgate Guardians series. Unlike the previous book, I was actually starting to like Delta. Not sure what happened between this and the first book, but she became less weak and cowardly towards certain situations. The girl still confuses me though and I'm hoping for lots of answers in the next book. Or at least an inkling to what she could be.
Other than that, we do spend a lot of time in hell (finally!), and we get to see some of Lucifer (again, finally!). Of course, he finds her interesting and everything right from the very beginning. Which I'm not totally complaining about either. As for the other guys in her life, they are starting to get on my good side. Not all the time but maybe things will change for the better in the next one. Maybe.
In the end, not exactly sure how I feel about the little cliffhanger, but I'll worry about that later.
This book was just NOT a good read. I do not rate books as low as one star, but I came close to giving up reading it so many times, only to skim over most of the parts to finish it. Grave Consequences pick up with Delta landing herself in Nihil (the core of the Hell rings) to discover her Sire is one of the Seven Deadly Sins. While being on a search for her mother, Delta wants to guard the Hellgate along with her friendly demons to come face to face with the Obsidion and other world-shattering revelations. But, all of this is like a secondary plot to Delta's trip to sin city with all four of the demons individually leading to an orgy. So, if you are looking for the tropes of reverse harem, smut, and orgy and the plot of the story or characters don't matter to you, then this would be right up your alley.
I feel like book 1 and 2 should've been consolidated into one book, because barely anything happens in book 1. I am somewhat bewildered because Delta never actually does anything for the entirety of the two books. She just reacts to things happening and freaks out a lot and just when I think that the actual plot is going to start and Delta is going to become proactive, it's the epilogue and we'll apparently be getting a new protagonist repeat the whole spiel from the beginning. It feels like a lot of different details and possible plot threads and characters were thrown in and teasered, which were interesting when they came up because I'd think "Oh, cool, I can't wait until this gets elaborated on" or "Awesome, I can't wait for this character to become relevant" but they never actually do. It's like a cake that's all frosting and no substance.
2.5 rounded up. I just can't with the FMC, Delta, in this book. She is always "snarking" at everything. I don't like her humor at all. She's rude, whiney, bitchy, and generally an asshole. Honestly, it's no wonder that she has no friends...
This also just felt like a 180 from the first book where she was still wary of being a demon/being attracted to demons, and she didn't like Jerif at all. Meanwhile basically from the start of this book, she has claimed the demons as her mates and is happily hooking up with all of them. There is no build up in the spice--they are all just immediately having sex. It just felt like it happened too quickly and was such a departure from her feelings towards them in the 1st book.
I was mostly bored of this book. The best scene was when she traveled with her father to figure out who her mother is. Tazreel ended up being one of my favorite characters. I actually think he is pretty funny, and I love that it seems that he low-key kind of likes his daughter (not that he would admit it). Iceman is the clear best character out of the demon men. While Crux and Echo have distinct powers and appearances, their personalities and dialogue is pretty interchangeable to me.
I don't think I'll be continuing the series. I just couldn't stay focused on this book, and I hate Delta.
This book picks up right where the previous left off. Delta is imprisoned by one of the Abdicated (fallen angel) of Hell and begins to learn more about herself and finds that she is not who she once thought she was, this also makes her look deeper into her self and make some decisions about who and what she stands against. Lots more sexy times and smut in this one and Delta continues to be very descriptive about what she wants. I still found Delta to be a bit whiny and wanted to tell her to shut up and get on with it a few times.
Well some of that was a little predictable. I love how the answered are uncovered. I like the blood on the staff trick that was cool. The characters were still funny and I like the way that no ones personality has changed at all even though her bloodline has been discovered. I can't wait to meet her sister. I wonder if mummy angel and daddy demon will ever get along.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
More Delta meltdowns and parental drama. I liked how creative the guys are with their powers. Humorous but Delta is still whiny making her seem younger than she is. Still a fun story with hot demons. Favourite character was Jerif.
I started this book straight after Grave Mistakes and gah it's really good.
I need to take a moment to appreciate the drool worthy Jerif again because in this book he becomes even more gruff, possessive and thoughtful, right down to your soul that you will become a puddle of goo at his feet.
I also need to take a breather and express to y'all that the scenes we all really enjoy in these types of books...you know what I am talking about...well they had this girl needing to take a fan break, if you know what I mean 😉
I love that we see more of Warrior Princess's (no that's not her name but Jerif's pet name cause sigh) heritage and her parents. Special appreciation to Taz for being such a character, the prideful ba$tard.
I am really enjoying this series and don't have a bad word about it so far!
This is one of those books that reads like a porno. It's like the sex and thinking about sex and talking about sex and/or using innuendos is the main story. I really don't like that. I want a story that has depth and character. Sex is important, but it isn't everything. Also, Delta is extremely immature. It's not just her though, all the other characters in this story use the vernacular of snarky teenagers. (including the thousands of years old angels 🙄) However, Delta is the worst of them all. *sigh* I mean, I just don't get it. How is that appealing? I think the world building is interesting, but I'm honestly tired of skipping over so much sex crap to get to the actual story.
This was more of a 2.5 star read for me, but I rounded. I never like reading the awkwardly cute heroines, and the longer this series went on, Delta became more and more of one. Either that or my tolerance for ran out the longer I read. There were also so many pop culture references in these novels. It would have been fine if the author stuck to Top Gun, I think, but then we had Tiger King and who knows how many others. This normally leads to a novel being very dated and doesn't age well. I may continue with the series tentatively since the FMC changes to Melody, but not right away.
The job from Hell is quite literally that, and Delta is now stuck in the most dangerous of all the Rings, WITHOUT her guys or any clue what's going on. Fun times.
Fortunately, the authors don't keep us, nor Delta, hanging for long, revealing the truth as it goes along and amping up the action to level 10 with little time to spare. It's fast, it's fun, and it's so well written that the characters truly feel alive - and their emotions bleed through the pages with ease.
However, I was surprised as the end drew near when it started to feel like a final book in a series, instead of book 2 of 4. The relationships are set, questions answered and the big bad is on the run. Considering this is only the midway point, I gritted my teeth and waited for the proverbial axe to fall... but it didn't.
This book really IS the end (kind of?) of Delta's part of the story. Book 3 picks up with another Guardian. While I normally would be dismayed at this kind of continuation (I become really invested in well written characters) I know and love the way both these authors, Ivy Asher and Raven Kennedy, pen a tale. With those two at the helm, I'm not worried. Guess it's time to discover my next, favorite heroine.

My Final Verdict on Grave Consequences
Brilliant! Simply brilliant. I love Delta and I love her guys even more - and knowing that this saga continues with a new, and probably equally fierce, FMC, is the icing on the cake.
Delta and her guys are such a comfort harem. I'm so glad I stumbled across this series. So Delta end up falling into the Nihil ring of hell at the end of book 1. She thinks she's lost her boys and might even be dead herself. Wrong.
Not only does she meet her real dad(who I loved as an addition to the story) but Lucifer himself and a host of other wild Abdicated demons.
Spoiler alert! ⚠️ Her boys aren't dead. AND she's able to leave hell with them hand in hand. But not without a couple extra feathery appendages. 🕊🕊🕊
We get to meet her mom as well and so many puzzle pieces fall into place. And she's able to give Delta a hint at how to heal the hellgate.
I loved the little bit about the pixies making a home there to care for the garden. 🧚♂️
The Ophidian continues to be a problem but I have a feeling the group won't have to fight him all on their own.
Overall this book left me content. Her and her boys are happy, safe, and living their best lives by the end.
This one gives us much more info on Delta and the world she finds herself in. She finds out who her bio parents are and what this means for her. She finally does go to hell but things go a bit crazy. The guys also get closer to her and I still kinda wonder if she’s going to get new mates or if this is it. I’m actually surprised at how Taz changed his tune, since he felt the guys were beneath Delta. But now he doesn’t seem to take issue with them, it’s weird. I still like the story and I want to see where this goes.
Absolutely thrilled to not only get more details, but also more info about hell, heaven, and the mortal world in between. While certain things make more sense now, there’s still a lot left undiscovered 🥰
The plot is the reason I’m giving the book ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ Because while that’s amazing, Delta is starting to get exasperating 😅 her snark, sass, lazy, and dense attitude was both entertaining and understandable in book 1. Here in book 2 it becomes a bit hard to cope with at times!
3⭐️-ish - it was better than the last, but still fast forwarded through parts of chapters. I know there are 2 other books in this series available, but knowing they’re focused on other characters, I’ve decided not to continue… I have a basic idea of what I’d expect, so I’d rather not spend the Audible credits/time on completing the series.
Love this series, and can’t wait till part 2 comes out. This is a steamy, action filled, and hilarious story. Amazing story line and MC. Sexy demons and hilarious pun lines. A must buy and read!
You just never know what is going to happen when you walk into hell as Delta soon finds out. I have to admit I cried reading this but then laughed too. I don't want to say too much and give too much away, but man, parents can be crazy!!
There are some repeated things that are a bit annoying but otherwise this is a fun series. Delta is pretty funny. This book gets more into sexy times then a lot of action but still good. I like the guys a lot.
Oh my... What a hellvua cliffhanger! Wow! Ok so yeah I'm seriously getting ready to jump into book 3 of this series because baby there's so much drama it's not funny.... Wait... Actually this is one of the reasons why I love this book and it's main character Delta because she's funny as hell!
I liked that it was an easy read but you could have done so much more with this story. Since it's only two books everything was a bit too easy and fast.
Nonetheless, the first book was hilarious and still enjoyed it over all!
As usual ivy brings intrigue, and a good story line, intertwined with fantastic characters. Recommend reading her books. Can’t wait to finish this series
