With Mina in a coma, a loved one returned from the dead, and one of their team members acting odd, Team Alpha is at the lowest it’s ever been. But then mind blowing new information comes to light, and with it, a possible solution.
Old problems.
New and interesting people.
Terrifying future prospects.
Can Team Alpha get their act together and help the Collectors Division stop AoA before it causes more destruction.
Join Jessamina and her team in Book two of the Collectors Division.
Guardian’s Blood is a Reverse harem novel and as such there will be no choosing. Contains both MM and FF and scenes of a sexual nature and isn’t recommend for young readers.
Pages: 262 My rating: 3.5 Read other books by this author in the future: yes #1: MC: Mina (Jessamina), Samuel, Lysander, Patrick, Zephaniah, Mavromivhali, Drusilla #2 MC: Mina (Jessamina), Samuel, Lysander, Patrick, Zephaniah, Mavromivhali, Drusilla, Jagger, Malakai
I am going to review book one and two here. The biggest difference between the first book and the second is, that the first one is a slow burn with a good fantasy story and the second on a medium/quick burn the fantasy story takes a step back, but it is still good. Both books end on cliffhangers.
Mina, the FMC of this book, is an orphan and because the nuns she was staying with could not cope with her they send her to the academy, where a willing childless couple fosters kids. Minas foster brother is Sam. The first book starts at the end of the academy. All students have to go through a test to get a placement. Mina and her two best friends are up for the test. At the end of the test different teams compete to take the good contestant in. Mina makes it though the test, but she is in trouble, because somehow people manipulated the test environment so that the fake animal is a real monster. But Mina still finish this exam and in record time too. Next da yes the placement event. Mina’s two friends get a placement in a new group, whereas Mina is chosen by team alpha. She knows them well, because Sam is part of team alpha and she used to train with them before she started her Academy training. The first book is about getting to know team alpha and first missions. There are a few really nice ideas in this book, e. g. Dragons (not saying why it’s a good idea) the new tech and so on. I really liked the story and the people. Because there are a few R-Rated scenes the slow burn is pretty funny and I did not mind it at all.
The second book start exactly where book 1 stops. The mission was a disaster leaving Mina injured. And nobody knows what to do to save her. Also the ex Team member who was supposed to be dead is back claiming Amnesia. And because of Minas accident, which she doesn’t remember. The second story is more medium to quick burn story. Als two new members of the harems are introduced. Secrets are revealed.
I really enjoyed both books. The were fun and entertaining and I am looking forward to the next book, which is supposed to come out in December 2020 according to amazon.
5 Stars!!!! I absolutely loved it! It was amazing and let me tell you Mina is my wife I’m married, off the market cause I’m with Mina now. I absolutely love that woman or should I say demon! This book was so so so so good, I don’t have words! It kept me entertained the whole time, I laughed a lot, got red in the face A LOT too and my heart felt fuzzy and warm sometimes!
⚠️⚠️POSSIBLE SPOILERS⚠️⚠️ * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Two words FATED MATES!!! YASSSSS!! You do not know how much I celebrated when Lucifer (Mina's mom) said the thing about demons having fated mates, I was so happy I still am! I love books with fated mates and even more RH with fated mates, this book gave me everything I needed fated mates, RH, MM, FF and kidnapping ending on cliffhanger like; what more do I need??
Mina being half arch-demon half arch-angel was not a surprise BUT I still loved everything in this book to me it was just perfect! Also I love KAI and JAGGER they are just ughhhg I LOVE THEM!!! Kai is just amazing and Jagger too and I love Dru and Trick and Sander and Mav and Zeph I love EVERYONE!!!
Btw I still don’t know how I feel about Sam, sometimes I like him sometimes I absolutely hate him. I will have to wait and see until the next book that I am absolutely going to start right about now. Do I recommend this? OF COURSE!
I didn’t like this book as much as book 1, though it was still a decent romp through a unique world (worlds). I love the idea behind it, and the characters are intriguing. That said, the plot was lost behind the intimacy. Don’t get me wrong, I adore adult scenes in my books, crave them actually, but when they replace forward momentum, I quickly lose interest. I found myself skipping pages just to get back to the story. But that is also just me, if that’s your thing - this book is perfect. And it really is interesting, btw. I’ll be reading book 3, just to see what happens.
I like that we have multiple POV. A lot of sexy times, but some plot developments as well. The easy acceptance of mina of her parentage is slightly odd compared to her vehemence in the first book. Her change of heart is explained but it still feels a little too much 180. Also, her badass skills don't show as she makes a lot of rookie mistakes. So therefore I am more critical of book 2 than 1. Still entertaining enough to keep on reading!
I was privileged to receive an ARC copy of Lexie’s second installment in her new series. I was under no obligation to leave a review. How could I not?
I loved Guardian’s Blood, the second book of the Collectors Division series.
Where to start? Reverse Harem, Paranormal Romance, Urban Fantasy, Angels, Demons, action and so much more. Lexie’s author note is not only funny, it offers a snowflake edition once again, just in case, stating multiple partner combinations to follow.
Again, in case as readers you haven’t worked it out it’s a RH 😊
Spoilers and cliff hanger ❤️
Mina is back with Dru and the boys, adding new partners and characters to this quickly building storyline. You’re dropped straight off the cliff from the first page. Not the gentle intro like book one.
To quote Mina, “Apparently, my inner voice is a stupid horny b***h with no filter.” Mina’s back and there’s no stopping her now 😉
I had lots of laughs along the way as the boys and Dru open up and we see more of their interconnected relationships.
I love the whole series concept. It’s a new fantasy idea, with plot twists and surprises, along with both fairy tale and mythological creatures added. Drop in the RH, and you’re set for a great read.
I’ll gladly jump off the cliff again with Lexie into book three with Guardian Ascending, Collectors Division later this year. I can’t wait for more!
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Buckle up and get ready to scream ,swoon and swear at Lexie
OMG LEXIEEEEE...why do you keep doing this to me?😭 My heart can't take anymore (but please don't stop cause I also love the pain)
I keep thinking that I can't possibly love Mina more than I already do bit every chapter proves me wrong. How she opens her heart to those around her and takes every obstacle in her stride makes her one of my favourite SSFMC (strong, sexy FMC) to read in my ever expending library.
Lexie, you have a loyal fan and lit stalker now! I will (not so) patiently wait for book 3.
I just absolutely adore this book series. It's 🔥🔥🔥 hot with so much steam. There is MM, MFM, and FF. It has multiple POVs. The story continues for team Alpha and we begin to get answers to all those questions we have. We discover the parents of Mina. We discover who is behind AoA and we figure out what is going on with Sam. We get a new character, hello Kai, and begin to get more relationship development. I just loved every moment in this book and can't wait for the next. Big things are happening and coming for the team!!!
The story picks up shortly after the end of book 1 - Mina is in a coma, some old history comes back, and an ending that leaves you needing more. This series has sucked me in and I can’t wait for book 3!
Generously giving this 3 stars. While this held my attention, enough so, that I did pick up the next book (#3) right away (though I DNF that one), it wasn't a book I would want to re-read at all. I actually regret picking up this whole series in the long run after book 3. There are definitely some plot holes that really hurt this as a whole. I found the characters to be a bit off. I never really feel like I get to know them or like them- enough to be really invested into the series like I do with some other authors' series.
I hadn't noticed this in another series by this author or this series until I was mid-book on book 3, though I'm sure it was there in the others, but I really hated the author's "author's note" & "author's note - snowflake addition"! What a bad way to rally readers, you come across as arrogant & uncaring, like you believe people really don't have problems or hang-ups in their lives. Maybe you meant it as humor, but it did not come across as humor! I doubt I will read more from this author due to the "author's note" & "author's note - snowflake addition". What a way to be condescending to the readers you hope will "buy" your books...
I don’t know, bro. I know Lexie got a lot of flack for the trigger warning at the beginning (and allegedly) apologized for it, though it’s never been removed… so there’s that.
That start should’ve been an explanation for how the rest of the book would go. I’m honestly conflicted with giving it three stars and giving it two.
To make up for the lack of spice in book 1, there’s nothing but spice in book 2 until 36%!! How are we just doing gratuitous spicy scene after spicy scene for almost half the book?! I honestly had to skip because it didn’t propel the story.
Then we get into the action and we’re having elite soldiers for a lack of a better word just not think critically about anything. These people have trained for years and have experience and yet they’re continually the last to know anything. Why???
The “reveal” isn’t shocking to anyone paying attention even though parts of the story are needlessly confusing.
Overall it was fine and I’ll continue the series cause I do want to know how it ends, but if I hadn’t started the series- I wouldn’t. I also would not recommend it either.
Cliffhangers still suck, and they're a shady tool used to hopefully make readers buy more books when they can't write a decent story to make you come back without it. That being said, this writer should stop using them. She doesn't need a cliffhanger to draw you back because she creates stories that draw you in. The characters are well rounded, the worlds are described well enough to put you there without stomping on your imagination, and the pace is excellent. I would say this is medium spice. I still skip the FF because it hits my off button but all the other spice is nice. Overall, the story is really a 5 but I will never give 5 stars to a cliffhanger. The only reason it got more than 2 which is what I usually give unfinished books is that I knew it was a cliffhanger before I started, and I never start one of this author's books until I'm reasonably sure the series is done so I don't have to wait.
Holy WOW factor. The mystery, surprises, mischief, shenanigans, and absolute THRILL RIDE that Lexie has captured in Guardian's Blood... I couldn't put it down. After the cliffhanger ending of book 1, I immediately HAD to have more of Mina's story. And let me say, I'm not sure I was prepared for the increase in steamy hotness! Definitely NSFW reading (yes, I admit I was reading this on my lunch break... in the associate break room... awkward lol). If you thought book 1 was good, you NEED to keep going because it gets BETTER! And another drop-dead fantastic ending that leaves you with enough information to tease and leave you panting and breathless with excitement for the continuation of Mina's journey with Team Alpha!
This book, dare I say it, had too much sex and not enough story. While there were more interesting ideas introduced and exciting revelations the story kind of stalled. (Jmo).
I also think it weird how Winston has paired all of the characters. What I mean is that kai and what's his name are a couple + mina; zeph and mav + Mina; then Trick and sander + Mina. It's not necessarily bad, but it's pushing up against my line in the sand that the book needs to still revolve around Mina if it's labeled an RH.
I'm excited to see where the next book takes us ... Currently the bad guys might be winning.
When a book starts with their main character in a precarious situation, it's hard to be invested because you kind of know how they will end up. But this story throws that experience right out of the water! The sequel to Guardian was funny, interesting, and HOT! Lexi Winston has done an amazing job of building fun characters each with their own distinct personalities that I just can't get enough of. Seriously just give me endless chapters of Zeph, Mav and the rest just living their lives with all the chemistry in the air! It goes without saying I can't wait for the next one.
Very much enjoying following the clues to see if I am correct on certain outcomes. I like this series and yes to the author, that was one heck of a cliffhanger, ughhhh! I was lucky enough to be able to read both books back to back, now I have to wait. Yes, I am Absolutely pouting like an overgrown child over this.😉 This is a new author for me and I am looking forward to reading more by Ms. Winston. Thank you,to the author, for sharing your wonderful imagination with the rest of us.
I gave the first book in this series 3 stars and I want to go back and make an edit but I’m torn. The writer has found her groove and this story has taken off in such an awesome way from the first pages straight through to the end. I’m glad I didn’t give up on this series and kept going. The first book had too much time trying to world build or character build but only distracted and confused the reader. None of that was in this story and it flowed so beautifully and was very hard to set down.
Book 2 of the Collector's Division series starts out strong. With Mina in a coma, and after the cliffhanger in book 1, I was very happy to be able to dive right back into this! I was not expecting any of this book.
While a couple of things become clear throughout the book, I didn't find that it was overly predictable. I loved that there was multiple POV from all of Alpha Team, and some new characters. It felt like it was a good pace, and kept my interest throughout the book. Major cliffhanger at the end, I am glad I waited until the series was complete to read!
There were a lot of interesting things going on in this book but for whatever reason it failed to engage me.
The plot was a little thin and the characters felt a bit underdeveloped. I couldn't really relate to them in action. The idea of each character seemed great but once they were in a scene it just fizzled.
For me it wasn't great but there was nothing wrong with the book either. If you're looking for angels, demons, fated mates, ff, and mm this might be the ticket for you. It fell a little short for me.
To all the readers who like to be surprised in their books and do not require trigger warnings or cliff-hanger warnings, please skip the next page and continue to chapter one. To all the special snowflakes who need a heads up, continue onto the next page.
Calling someone a snowflake because they need a trigger warning is not an author I will support. Mental health and or past trauma is not something to make fun of. DNF, and I won't be reading anything else by this author.
I couldn't stop reading Guardian's Blood. This continuation of the Collectors Division is exciting, hot, and has some surprises. This series is one of my favorite RH and I'm anxiously awaiting the next book. This author has worked hard on character and world building, which continues to surprise and thrill readers. You can't go wrong with Collectors Division or anything this author writes!
Mina is in a coma, Connie is back, and all you wanna do is jump into the book to strangle her. So much of the foreshadowing from the first book comes to life because of the coma! So many surprises for Mina in this book and probably some for the readers too if I’m you didn’t catch some of the hints in the last book. We get more history, more action (of both kinds 😉), new worlds, and......a whole lotta of frustration once that cliffhanger hits again!
I fell in love with this group in the first book and I fell so much harder for them in this second one and some extra! You'll know once you read! Anyway this book was everything I was hoping for and so very much more. The twists, turns, and yell out loud moments were everything. You get to see relationships continue to grow! Overall this book was so great and I need more NOW! Amazing job Lexie and I can't wait to read many more of your fabulous books!
I enjoyed reading the second instalment in the series and seeing Mina's powers and relationships grow. Although, the multiple perspectives, at times, caused the book overall to feel disjointed and lacked an easy flow in the book.
However, the ending of the first and second books felt really rushed and resembled more of an amateur cliff hanger than a published writer. Nevertheless, I do plan to continue reading onto the third and final book in the series.
I thought the first book in this series was great, this book is off the charts. The chemistry within everyone, the sex scenes, the demons - just wow! This book is so well written you honestly won’t put it down 7 til the vet7 last word. I honestly had tears from laughing at the ghost scene. Loved this book and can’t wait to get stuck into the next one
Sabboath and his slimy daughter Constance think they have won cause they got Mina but they just don't know the war they're about to lose. Michael her father who is the leader and most powerful of the Archangels is about to wreck havoc along with her mates. I hope Samuel is still on the good side and ain't betrayed his team. I guess we're about to find out.💙💙
This is the second book in the series and my heart is racing. I started the books 24 hours ago and I suspect I’ll finish the series before bed. The original storyline hooks you in and won’t let go. I absolutely love it. It’s completely different than what I read from Lexie Winston before, but it is just as fabulous 💜
I’ve officially read the first 2 books in 2 days, skipping out on everything in my life. I’m in love with all of them, and I’d love to be a part of their world! It’s funny and sassy and full of love, not to mention hot!!! Some of the sexiest things I’ve read in a very long time!
Arrrgggg this book was great and writing this review is holding me up from buying the next on so people I’d ya loved the first you’ll love this one even more just do it, it’s amazing this crew are epic love pain strength hot hot scenes and I’m going for the next one right now bye 👋 buy it lol.
