Akane Torikai (Japanese: 鳥飼茜, Torikai Akane) is a Japanese manga author. Torikai entered the manga industry around 2004, working as an assistant to Minoru Furuya, while publishing her own short stories in shojo (girls') manga magazines, including 'Bessatsu Shojo Friend' and 'Be Love'. Torikai acquired fame with her longer comics, serialised in seinen (adult) manga magazines. Her works usually tackle controversial topics, often with a feminist perspective. Among her books are: Sensei's Pious Lie (2013-2017), about a young female teacher dealing with sexual assault; Jigoku no Girlfriend (2014-2017), featuring three young women sharing an apartment and looking for their place in modern Japan; Wandering Cat’s Cage (2017-2018), set in a dystopian matriarchal society that limits women freedom; Saturn Return (2019-2022), on a young writer investigating the suicide of a friend.
It kills me how when Minako is like she's going to call the cops on Reina once she realizes what she's up to. And Reina's friend (whos name escapes me) who came to the hospital and managed to stop Reina from shoving Minako down the stairs once she realized that the abortion pill she gave Minako didn't work. Was like if Minako calls the cops then she'll tell the cops how Hayafuji is a rapist. Girl GO THE FUCK ON! You think I give two shits if you say anything about him being a piece of shit?!? Your friend masqueraded as a nurse and slipped me abortion pills and when she realized the pills didn't take she was going to shove me down the stairs to force a miscarriage. Neither of you have a leg to stand on. But do you boo. And of course Minako being the type of person she is she 1. Doesn't seem to tell anyone what happened not even Hara (who first name escapes me) 2. Doesn't confront Hayafuji. And I'm pretty sure she knows he's not being faithful. Which is sad but also not surprising since she is seen in an earlier volume lying to Hara about her and Hayafuji's sex life. So it seems like she's the type to hold on to a shitbag of a man simply just to save face instead of walk away with some of her dignity. Plus her mom went on a terrible speech of how a men a always goi g to cheat and it's a good women's/wife's job to look the other way and just let it happen. So even if she said anything to her mom I'm pretty sure her mom would have just talked her out of leaving Hayafuji.
Hayafuji takes Reina out on what he says is a late bday dinner/trip.And her takes her out for a drive in the mountains. I honestly thought Hayafuji was going to kill Reina on the side of that mountain. But instead he just had a breakdown about Minako being pregnant and him not wanting her to be pregnant but not knowig what to do.
Hayafuji sees Hara and Niizuma out and about holding hands. (Can someone tell me why they are just walking through the city holding hands?!? Ma'am HE IS YOUR STUDENT!! Anyone can fucking see you two! And two people do see them.) So he meets her after school and while "giving her a ride home" tells her if she doesn't either sleep with Niizuma while he watches or sleep with him while Niizuma watches he'll send the pic he took of her to her school and tell them how she's messing with a student. She soes tell Niizuma how she's being blackmailed bit doesn't do what Hayafuji says instead she meetschim at the hotel and basically twlls him how he doesn't have any power over her anymore and she forgives him. Which causes him to freak to fuck out and start being the shit outta Hara. Volmes ends. Talk about a fucking cliffhanger.
