Lady’s brothers have always been a headache, Horace especially. When she discovers he’s falling into old, sticky-finger habits again, she’s disappointed but not surprised. However, she does start to worry when the police come knocking on her door. They want to question Horace, but he’s nowhere to be found. As is custom in Dark Lake, Horace has gotten himself involved in something weird, something complicated and supernatural. He’s in the woods by the marina. Lady will need to find him. She’ll need to figure out why he’s stashing stolen goods out there and why he’s turned the woods into a mysterious, labyrinthine space. Eleventh Volume of the Dark Lakes Chronicles Cozy Mystery Series. This book is approximately 54,000 words in length. This book can be read as a standalone. Reading prior of future volumes not required to enjoy the book (though reading prior volumes first will enhance your experience). There is no cliffhanger ending.
Lady's brothers have always been a sore spot with Lady since moving in with Lady at the Inn. Now it seems that they are going back to their 'old ways' with the five-finger discount. But when they hide the ill-gotten goods in the woods, things aren't as easy to get back as they thought it would be. Especially when Lady finds a human bone where the TV was left! There is something supernatural going on in the woods, and it will take everything Lady and the gang has to overcome it. But can they? If not, who will save them? I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
Another enjoyable adventure and mystery to solve for Lady and her friends in Dark lake. The book had a light easy to read enjoyable and the series has great characters. Each book is standalone in the storyline but previous books will introduce you to the characters which would give you a better understanding.
Poor Lady is still having to deal with brother troubles. Horace has been up to no good, and now he's missing. Are the woods haunted, or is there something else going on in there. Murder, mystery, and robbery. Another fun read in the Dark Lake Chronicles.
This is a different type of witch story that I fell in love with. The Characters are developed as the story goes along. The main characters are well described and you'll fall in love with them. Great Reading Everyone!
This was a nice story line. J like to read about Lady's brother getting into action. J still do not like the minimal coverage that Crispin gets. I think as lady's boyfriend , he needs more coverage in the story.
