Molly Fitz is the quirky, cozy mystery pen name of USA Today bestselling author, Melissa Storm. And while she can't technically talk to animals, she and her doggie best friend, Sky Princess, have deep and very animated conversations as they navigate their days. Add to that, five more dogs, a snarky feline, comedian husband, and diva daughter, and you can pretty much imagine how life looks in the Casa de Fitz.

Molly lives in a house on a high hill in the Michigan woods and occasionally ventures out for good food, great coffee, or to meet new animal friends.

This is a fun collection of Black Cat stories. Quite a broad selection of story types but I gave them mostly 4 and 5 stars. If you enjoy a collection of short stories (not too short) this is one to pick up.

Oh my gosh! That was so much fun. There’s humor and mystery and felines galore. Some of these stories gave me insight into already favorite characters, and the rest introduced me to brand new favorites. They all transported me to their individual worlds, and I foresee a lot of manic one-clicking in my future. This anthology completely stole my day away and yet I don’t regret a single second of it.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher.

I was hoping to give an overall rating of 4 stars, but too many low points and problems.

‘About this boxed set’ section needed some proofreading (makes the series off to a bad start). “This collection of 11 all-new, never-before-read cozy…” In the next paragraph, “…come celebrate Halloween with ten sweet and delicious stories.” Evidently one isn’t sweet and delicious.

Black Cat Benefit-2 stars: Seems like Angie is the only one who can do anything to prepare for the party; she’s bouncing all over the place, which is not interesting or all that informative. At the end of chapter 4 Angie acknowledged that Charles kept moving out of Bonnie’s reach, but still, in Chapter 5 she acted like he was at fault ‘letting her fawn all over him’. I realize short stories don’t have much time to set the scene, fill out the characters, and present and solve the mystery, but this wasn’t a mystery. The ending was rushed and the ‘confession’ and solve, came out of nowhere. There was one tiny weeny clue that was barely a clue.

Secrets of the black cat-4 stars: This was a fun read, well written and I didn’t find any proofreading errors. I like how the reveal was done as well as the part about Delphina finding out more about her powers.

Black Cat Comes Back-4 stars: a good read done from the point of view of the ‘deceased’. The characters are well fleshed out, you know how each will react to a given situation. Loved the ending as well.

A Wash & Werewolf-3 stars: A good read but there was no mystery solving. Ivy didn’t have to do much but wander around and the answers, via other characters, came to her and spilled everything. The black cat had a very minimal spot in the story.

A Haunted Offer-3 stars: Ok, John is cute, he makes a nice addition to the story. Alyssa did some decent sleuthing, but, using an invisibility spell while hiding in a closet (when it wasn’t needed) and having it wear off when it was needed wasn’t the brightest idea.

Kitty Cat Caper-4 stars: Lots of fun things happening here, things go awry, and the culprit is nowhere to be found. Except, maybe there is more than one culprit. There were a few proofreading errors (i.e. What is she playing that? Instead of What is she playing at?), but nothing too serious.

Bewitching Henry-3 stars: Several proofreading errors (i.e. He pulled his flashlight of his pocket and turned it on,…). A nice story, one that tried to put a lot of suspense into it but didn’t quite make it. Spoiler: Stella froze everything when the kitten ran into the road but was helpless when the wolf was attacking them and Henry was seriously injured by it?

Poison Apple Potion-5 stars: I really enjoyed this story (hence my rare 5 stars for a short story). I like the character of Snow and of Brody. The animals are a fun addition and I’d love to have that magical apple tree.

Magic and Mystery-3 stars: A good story, worth looking into the next book.

The Witch Wears Prada-3 stars: In Chapter 1, “I looked at myself in the full-length mirror. I was Asian?” In Chapter 3, “Wait. Was I a grown adult woman? Was I a high school girl? Was I a geriatric senior citizen? How old was I?” Evidently, she forgot she already looked in a mirror and could rule out the high school girl or geriatric senior citizen. Hmm, she can take another witches powers by touching them, but she’s a terrible witch who can’t do potions or spells. Does that mean she removes their powers but doesn’t absorb them? Despite these issues, the story itself was pretty good.

Blackjack Crossing-4 stars: Hmmm, there was no mention of the witch’s car on the ferry, but now, it’s on the island. Also, Val was captured, but they knew what car (if it was on the ferry) was hers and brought it to the Pet Park? I’m confused, all the glass in the car windows had been broken outwards (like the spell came from within) but then they talk about whoever had nabbed the cat (scavo) which sounds like someone working magic outside the car. Despite these continuity issues, I really like the storyline, Jack, and Mason. This could easily have been a five star story.

This is a fun collection of eleven short stories by different authors and is a great way to find a new favourite author without reading a full book. Each book is a novel out of the author series so if you are familiar with the series then it is another chance to catch up with your favourite characters. All involves either witches or cats (most of which can talk). There is some real gems in here and is great for any aged reader, there is the odd murder mystery ( but no graphic details) for sensitive reader's and most of the stories are finding stolen artefacts, reversing curses, catching mischief makers or helping ghosts move on.
1/Black Cat Benefit by Molly Fitz four stars and the reason I have the book ago because I love her pet whisper series.
Angie is helping to raise money for the animal shelter by hosting a benefit at her home. An auction, a run and a meal, as well as the opportunity to adopt a cat but the celebration gets out on hold when one one the guests is found dead in the garden. Can she and Octo -Cat find the killer before the night is over.
2/Secrets of the black cat by Mila Riggs five stars.
Delphina as a witch is looking forward to a Halloween party especially when she finally finds herself a fimillar in the form of a black kitten. So she is surprised to wake up and find the cute kitten has turned into a black panther. Can she work out what caused the change? Could it have something to do with her previous owner's death?
3/ Black cat comes back by Emmie Lyn five stars.
When Audrey invited her old friend Tilly and Sunny to come and help her with a little problem, she had no intention idea they would investigating her own death. Now a ghost Audrey must help her friends work out which family member killer her and how.
4/ A wash a werewolf by S.E Babin four stars
There has been a murder at the local library and Ivy as a lie detecting witch is called in to help get to the bottom of the problem. She is reluctant to get involved until she finds out her friend is the prime suspect. Could a pack of werewolves behind the attack or are the police right and the man she thought she knew well is a murder?
5/ A haunted offer by Carolyn Ridden Aspenson five stars
It is hard to sell a house that is haunted but that is exactly what Alyssa's boss wants her do. The problem is Alyssa is a witch with a very unique gift she can talk to ghosts and the ghost is telling her he was murdered. Can she find his killer and finally sell the house?
6/ kitty cat caper by Stephanie Damore five stars and I think my favourite story in the collection.
Angelica and the rest of the town is gearing up to hold the best Halloween festival yet but someone has tempered with the cupcakes and is causing everyone who eats them to croak, no one has come out of the haystack maze and the decorations seems to have come to life. Running all around town putting out fires isn't getting her closer to finding out who is behind the high jinks but is all of it as harmless as it seems?
7/ Bewitching Henry by Michelle Francik five stars. She chapter is good by either Stella the witch or midnight the cat.
Stella has no idea when she screeches to a stop in her car that she and her friends would be spending the night in the middle of a rain storm out in the woods looking for a lost boy before a wolf finds him. The boys cat has run off to get help and instead of finding a policeman he finds two witches, a talking cat and a vampire. Can they get to him in time?
8/ Poisson Apple potion by Nyx Halliwell three stars. This book was my least favourite and in fact I didn't finish it as it was hard going with to many characters. It's a retelling of a snow white tale. It also annoyed me that magic was slept magick all the time, I don't know if it is a mix spelling or part of the story but I have up.
9/ Magic and mystery by Izzy Wilder four stars.
When her aunt injure her ankle it's up to Esme to take the visitors on the guided haunted house tour. The problem is she finds the previous homeowner's grand daughter laying on the basement floor. Someone has stolen the urn and the home owner society want it back for there Halloween party. The house is haunted because the homeowner and his girlfriend murdered his wife there and the wife threatens Esme if she even thinks about find the urn. What should she do?
10/ The witch wears prada by Lisa Siefert five stars.
Sakara wakes up with a cat on her chest shouting at her that he wants cheesecake. She has no idea who she is or why the cat is taking to her but a trip to the hospital leads to the discovery that she isn't crazy but a witch and by touching someone she can read there minds. When she happen to touch a hit woman's hand and discovers she has plans to carry out a bit tonight Sakara must decide if for once she is going to put someone else first and do the right thing. Can amnesia change a person?
11/ Blackjack crossing by F.M. Storm five stars.
An ex cop wakes up to find that his world has been turned upside down. Not only is he now a cat but fifty years has past since he last walked the streets. A witch called Val needs the help of a familiar and her spell has summoned him. Can the pair of them get to the bottom of a string of break in's, they think shifters are involved but just who is the boss?
I was given this free review copy book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

I only read one story but marking it down as read anyway because when it comes to short story collections, I don't tend to read all short stories from all authors anyway. I'll wade through this later.

Black Cat Crossing is a collection of stories penned by Molly Fitz, Emmie Lyn, Michelle Francik, Nyx Halliwell, Izzy Wilder, Lisa Siefert and F.M. Storm. These authors comprise the Whiskered Mysteries Group. I’ll confess that I had never heard of most of these authors, but, being familiar with Molly Fitz and her books, I knew that Black Cat Crossing would be worth reading and reviewing.

This awesome collection kicked off with Black Cat Benefit by Molly Fitz. No surprises there. Great story. Gave me a chance to become reacquainted with many of my favorite Molly Fitz characters, both two and four legged. Molly never disappoints, and this story was a definite hard act to follow.
Black Cat Comes Back by Emmie Lyn was a great follow up to Black Cat Benefit. I had never read Emmie Lyn before, but, like Molly Fitz, she didn’t disappoint. While Black Cat Benefit has a human, Angela, that can talk to animals, Black Cat Comes Back has two humans that can see and talk with a ghost, with the ghost being the main POV character.

Blackjack Crossing by F. M. Storm, the 3rd story in this collection. In Blackjack Crossing, the MC goes to sleep as a cop in Boston, Massachusetts and wakes up as a black cat, a witch’s Familiar in Maine. I found this story a disappointment because just as the action was getting hot and heavy; the story ended with nothing being resolved.

In Blackjack Crossing, we had a Boston police officer killed in the line of duty, so The Witch Wears Prada by Lisa Siefert follows. In The Witch Wears Prada, we have a young witch waking up in a bedroom she doesn’t recognize with a familiar she doesn’t know, but who knows her. We discover that the young witch is suffering from memory loss because of a spell/potion that went wrong. The Witch Wears Prada turned out to be an enjoyable mystery and an enticing lure to read Lisa’s Cupcakes and Chaos.

Poison Apple Potion by Nyx Halliwell is the fifth story in the collection. Nyx leads off by telling us that this story will be the retelling of the classic fairy tale, Snow White. The plot line parallels the plot line found in the fairy tale Snow White pretty close. This is a charming brief story with a happy ever after ending. In the end, Snow names the little black kitten Jynks. Could this be the same Jynks that we first encountered back in Black Cat Benefit? I think that it just may be the same Jynx.

Poison Apple Potion is followed by Bewitching Henry by Michelle Francik. On a pitch black night, during a blistering thunder storm, on a deserted road, Steller Spinney almost hits Henry, a black cat as he dashes across the road. What could have been a fatal accident turns into a search and rescue effort when Steller, a witch, teams up with her witch cousin, Pixie and Henry, her talking cat, and a vampire accountant to solve the mystery and rescue the kitten’s human, a little boy named Adam, whose injured and lost in the woods from dangerous predators.

Magic and Mystery by Izzy Wilder is the 7th and final story in this amazing collection of fuzzy mysteries. Esme Hightower, our protagonist in Magic and Mystery, talks to ghosts, but not all ghosts are friendly, like Casper was. Well, perhaps not everyone reading this review will be old enough to remember Casper the Friendly Ghost from the old Looney Tunes cartoons. Warner Brothers stopped making those cartoons back in 1969.

Magic and Mystery were the perfect story to wrap up this collection of seven stories. The glorious thing about these stories is that they are short enough to be read in one setting, making them all the perfect bedtime stories. Although written for an adult audience, they are suitable for an audience of any age.. there is no graphic sex, violence, or cursing, so they suitable for even the youngest reader. Every reader of this collection will come away wanting to read more of these authors’ works.

Overall, I give the book a 4.4 rating. Most of the stories could use a good proofreader.

Black Cat Benefit by Molly Fitz---4 Stars
I enjoyed this addition to the Pet Whisperer, PI series. All the gang are back for a charity event to benefit the local animal shelter. Angie has to solve a murder without the help of Octo-Cat. I would have liked the story more if it had gone back and wrapped up the event after the murderer was revealed. Octo-Cat seemed to be a tad malicious in this story--much more so than the ones I've read.

Secrets Of The Black Cat by Mila Riggs---3 Stars
I wasn't impressed with this story. I felt everything was contrived--from the way they decided where to start investigating to how they forced their way into the house to how they figured out what had happened. Also, the mystery of the cat/panther was ridiculous, IMO. I won't be reading the other books in this series.

Black Cat Comes Back by Emmie Lyn---4 Stars
A cute introduction to a new series. Tilly and Sunny star in another series by Emmie Lyn so I assume neither one will be back in the next book in the series. They were much more down-to-earth than in the other series. This was an enjoyable cozy with quirky characters and an interesting plot. I'm looking forward to the next book.

A Wash & Werewolf by SE Babin---4 Stars
This was an enjoyable short story. The characters are likable and the plot was entertaining. I find it a little weird that, in a town of magical people, they didn't know werewolves existed and that others knew more about Ivy's powers than she did.

A Haunted Offer by Carolyn Ridden Aspenson---5 Stars
A cute little mystery with likable characters and an interesting plot. John is definitely humorous and steals the scenes.

Kitty Cat caper by Stephanie Damone---5 Stars
An entertaining Halloween cozy. There was a lot of story packed in this short book. Several mysteries to solve, interesting characters, and a lot of magic.

Bewitching Henry by Michelle Francik---4 Stars
Two witches, a vampire, a talking cat, a kitten, and a lost little boy make for an engaging short story. The characters were likable and the plot held my attention. Henry is intelligent and not snarky or malicious.

Poison Apple Potion by Nyx Halliwell---5 Stars
A fairytale complete with poisoned apples and sleeping people, white magic and black magic. An enjoyable story with likable characters.

Magic and Mystery by Izzy Wilder---5 Stars
A cute introduction to a new series. The story held my interest, had likable characters, and was well-written. I look forward to reading this series.

The Witch Wears Prada by Lisa Siefert---4 Stars
This was an interesting story. Sakara has apparently been a bad witch and is now going to do good. She will be a good addition to the series and Ava will help her remain good. Werewolf doesn't have even one redeeming quality. He is malicious and vindictive.

Blackjack Crossing by FM Storm---5 Stars
An interesting take on how witches get their familiars. It was well-written and held my interest. Blackjack doesn't have any kind of magic like most familiars but he is smart and being a former police officer gives him an edge. I'm looking forward to reading this series.

This is my favorite Halloween anthology! Two of my favorite authors were included along with a lot of new potential favorites. I like that each story tells you where it falls in the series. Lots of cats, not all of them black, add to the mysterious going-ons.

Black Cat Benefit – Octocat returns as Nan hosts a benefit for the animal shelter. Unfortunately, a murder takes place during the event. Can Octocat get over his annoyance with a crowder of black cats to lend a paw?
Secrets of the Black Cat – Can a familiar be both a black cat and a black panther? How will Delphina explain this to her parents?
Black Cat Comes Back – Audrey is now a ghost and needs her black cat Mocha and 2 friends to find her murderer.
A Wash & A Werewolf – Ivy and her resident skeleton become involved in solving a Halloween murder.
A Haunted Offer – Alyssa, a witch whose familiar is a mouse, needs to solve the murder of a former homeowner.
Kitty Cat Caper – Halloween is turning into a disaster in Silverlake this year with people lost in the maze, gargoyles coming to life, and croaking (as in frogs) people. Join Angelica in solving this spooky mystery.
Bewitching Henry – Stella finds a black cat in the middle of the road on a stormy night. The only problem is the kitten has left a lost 5-year-old boy in the woods who needs help.
Poison Apple Potion – A modern witchy telling of Snow White which is set on a farm that is complete with magic apple trees, Fairy Tale Village, and lots more. Loved this.
Magic and Mystery – Esme searches for a silver urn during a haunted Halloween mystery.
The Witch Wears Prada – Sakara wakes up in a mansion with a sassy black cat – but who is she? She has no memory of her past and why she would have such bad taste in décor and clothing.
Blackjack Crossing – A former Boston cop has come back as a cat to be a partner to a paranormal cop.

Usually when you get an anthology there is one or two great stories and the rest you slog through. Not so in this great group. Each one holds its own. Many are prequels or first in a new series; all stand on their own even if they are further into their series (e.g. Black Cat Benefit).

Many of these wonderful authors I have had the pleasure of reading at least one book previously. For some, this was my first and I pray it won’t be my last.

The unifying factor was, as the title suggests, a black cat. Whether a familiar, a shifter, or a furry friend, whether they could talk or not, each was instrumental and sweet…. Or grumpy… as their personality dictated.

Don’t make me pick a favorite. I can’t do it; I enjoyed them all. This book makes me the crazy cat lady claiming all eleven…. Just thankful that I don’t need to have the litter boxes!

Note: While I received this book as a gifted ARC, my opinions are my own and are given freely.

A great collection of spooky mysteries that definitely put you in the mood for Halloween. Magical cats and people trying to solve a mystery sometimes involving a murder. I am just getting started so here are the ones I have read so far--

Black cat Benefit by Molly Fitz - Octo Cat is one sassy cat. Of course Angie find a dead body and is immediately on the case to find the murderer all while helping host the black cat benefit.

Secrets of the Black Cat by Mila Riggs - Two young girls learning how to handle their magic while trying to have fun at Halloween. Can a cat really turn into a panther? yikes

Black Cat Comes Back by Emmie Lyn - Audrey has been murdered and helps to solve the case with her friends.

A Wash & Werewolf by S.E. Babin - Ivy with the help of Bob the skeleton (he is pretty funny) help to solve a mystery while romance brews.

The Witch Wears Prada by Lisa Siefert - Sakara wakes up with amnesia and with the crankiest cat ever. She finds that maybe she doesn't want her memory back. Another mystery to solve.

Magic and Mystery by Izzy Wilder - Esme a psychic in training sets out to solve a mystery concerning a missing urn. She can communicate with the dead and sometimes the ghosts aren't friendly. Guy is her boyfriend and the chief of police and together they set out to solve the crime. Lots of supernatural characters and a great pre quel to Channeling Ghosts for Beginners. Now I want to read book 1 Havoc and Hauntings.

Looking forward to reading the rest.

Like most anthologies, I enjoyed some more than others in this grouping. And in fact, there was only one that I actually didn’t care for and that was mostly because the villain wasn’t caught or dealt with. It was the only one that wasn’t complete for me. All the other stories were complete stories by themselves even though they are part of larger series by the authors. Each one centers around a black cat that in some way helps the heroine solve the problem. Some of them talk, some don’t. Some I just want to scoop up and hold and pet. Some, I’d stay far away from! But I enjoyed them all.

Recommendation: I’d definitely recommend this if you’re looking for some short stories to entertain you, and especially if you’re familiar with the authors. If you’re not, this is a great way to introduce them and discover which ones you’d like to read more of. I know for certain I’m going to be picking up more by almost all of them. They’ve all been added to my “keep an eye out for…” list.

Disclaimer: I received a final and/or advanced reader copy of this book with the hope that I will leave my unbiased opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that… My Opinions. I am posting this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 255: “Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising.”

🍂Hit your cat 🐱and kitty quota in this variety pack anthology🐈

Most of these authors were new to me. This was a good way to get a feel for the author's style of writing and meet some new cat sidekicks in tales that are mostly standalone but fit into an existing series. The authors even guide you to where each story would fit in their existing series.

I loved the characteristic snark and inflated ego of Molly Fitz's Octo-Cat and was introduced to a darling, nervous Chihuahua named Paisley (I guess if I was that small and helpless I'd be nervous too!) that Octa-Cat has learned to tolerate (barely). Of the new-to-me authors, my favorite was Michelle Francik's Bewitching Henry, surprisingly not for the eponymous cat Henry but for a brave, loyal (and sometimes exasperated and sarcastic) kitten named Midnight.

Witches and cats dominate, but stories like Stephanie Damore's Kitty Cat Caper, based in a magical town, provide pixies, gargoyles, vampires and mischievous teen pranksters as well.

Nothing really gruesome, cute cat "tales" easy, full of action and quick to read at Halloween or any time of the year.

I read a complimentary advance copy of the collection; this is my voluntary and honest review.

This collection was on sale right before Halloween, so how could a cat lover and cozy mystery enthusiast pass it up? Sadly, not all of the offerings in this collection were made alike. All of them were closer to novella length, which made them quick reads. One of them only gave a token nod to black cats. Many of them would have benefited from the help of even the most casual of editors. A couple of them had main characters who I just couldn’t like enough to want to read more books about them. Overall, I think they added a little holiday flair to my reading. I particularly liked “Poison Apple Potion” and “Blackjack Crossing”. There were a couple others I liked, but I don’t want to discourage you from reading all of them if you like cozy mysteries, and I honestly can’t remember the other preferred titles offhand after reading eleven of them, but one of them featured a ghost in a B&B and another had a talking skeleton if that sparks some interest. Perhaps, I should review each story in the next anthology I read one by one?

Fun collection of stories. I like how they tell you where it fits into a series even though they can be read as stand-alone.

A Haunted Offer by Carolyn Ridder Aspenson
In Spooks for Sale, Alyssa Grey finds out she’s a rare witch by having the ability to see and communicate with ghosts. Now Alyssa is preparing another house to sell while staying on the good side of her demanding boss, Iris. Working with her familiar, cheese-addicted mouse John, Alyssa must find out who killed previous home owner Cornelius Mayfield, and why, so Mr. Mayfield can move on. Quick fun read with a few suspects and a surprise ending.

Kitty Cat Caper by Stephanie Damore
Ribbiting citizens, troublemaking pixies, flying sequined bats, & roaming gargoyles make for an interesting 1st Halloween in Silverlake. Angelica is working hard to find out how all this happened and who did it. Fun romp around the town with more and more weird occurrences. Good conclusion.

(Don't) get spooked by this wonderful Halloween collection!
I'm not a great fan of cats, black or otherwise, since 2 of my pet rabbits were killed by them.
But some of them are cute. Not Octo-Cat, the main cat in Black Cat Crossing. He is a spoiled, irritating specimen. But I like the humans in his life. And the mystery is good!
Secrets of the Black Cat makes me want to read more in this series! Tigers, panthers, magic. Sounds like fun!
I also really enjoyed Black Cat Comes Back by Emmie Lyn. This is the first time I've read a cozy mystery in which the murder victim herself actively helps with the investigation. Along with two living friends and her black cat.

This is a wonderful collection of mysteries and magic. Perfect for a stormy autumn night!
I received a copy and chose to review it.

A collection of cozy mysteries involving cats! This is a great collection with many short stories.

I mainly read for Molly Fitz Black Cat Benefit! I love Angela, October-cat, NaN, and Paisley. These characters are great and I love the cozy mystery! NaN is always up to something and this time it is a benefit for the local animal shelter. Of course Angie stumbles upon a murder and uses her Pet-Whisperer PI skills to investigate!

Mila Riggs-Secrets of the black Cat

Zoey and Delphinia are celebrating Halloween and looking for a secret party. They stumble upon a black cat that Delphinia thinks is her familiar. When they wake up the next morning, he isn’t a cat, but a panther. They go back to where they found him and find that his previous owner has died. Zoey and Delphinia stay to figure out the death, and the mystery of the cat turned panther.

11 authors come together to bring us cozy stories to curl up with and enjoy mystery, fun, and of course, cats!

The stories are all short enough for a quick read, but be prepared to be so engrossed in the fun you devour more than one at a time. Clean reads, fun storylines and unusual characters make this anthology a very good read.

They are all stand-alone reads, set in the authors' own series. Introducing a varied collection of quirky characters, ranging from ghosts, physics, to a PI that can talk with animals, you may find some new series to enjoy. I did!

I received an ARC from the publisher, and this is my voluntary, honest opinion. I loved it so much, I also bought a copy.

This is a great collection of stories by multiple authors. All of them fit into various series by the authors but can be read on their own. I really enjoyed most of the stories and now have some new series to read; however, some of the stories had quite a few errors/typos that should have been caught and they detracted from my overall enjoyment. I especially loved Molly Fitz's, Black Cat Benefit; Emmie Lyn's, Black Cat Comes Back; and Lisa Siefert's, The Witch Wears Prada. And, of course, all the black cats were awesome! I do recommend this book for anyone who loves black cats and fans of the various authors.

This is an anthology of short stories from eleven authors representing eleven different series published by Sweet Promise Press. It is a veritable Smörgåsbord of delicious mysteries with witches, lots of black cats, a bit of shape shifting and even a twist on a popular fairytale. Information is provided for each story regarding where it fits in its respective series, as well as access to each series for further reading. The final story is a special preview of a series due out next year.

I received a free advanced copy of this book for my honest review and have enjoyed each story. This is a perfect collection for this Halloween season.

Love, and definitely recommend!

I have to admit: I adored this collection! Of course, there are always stories in a collection that speak to me more than others, but I really enjoyed them! But hey, as a cat lover, I felt drawn to all the cats in the stories! Cute, cuter, cutest, or sometimes snarky, but they all added so much to the stories! The stories by Molly Fitz, Emmie Lyn, SE Babin, Carolyn Ridder Aspenson, Nyx Halliwell, Izzy Wilder, FM Storm: these all really stood out for me. Love, and definitely recommend!

Eleven short stories with a Hallowe'en theme, most involving witches or psychics, with a black cat somewhere in the story. They each belong to a different series, and tell you where in the series they fall chronologically - a good way to find a new series to read. A fair amount of proofreading errors, as usual in an e-book, and rather annoying. I almost gave it 4 stars, but rounded 3.5 down to three. They were all entertaining, but none of them were quite good enough to convince me to buy more books in any of the series. At least not yet....

What a great anthology of stories about cats! This is that time of year, of "things that go bump in the night". Here, these wonderful bunch of cats congregate to sweep you into known, and in some cases unknown authors. Read all the way through or nibble at this Halloween trick or treat bag of smiles. Highly recommended 5/5

What a great collection of mysteries to help celebrate Halloween! I thought I was just purchasing some "short" stories but these stories were quite substantial and very entertaining. I loved all of them and have found a few new authors to watch for in the future. What a great way to spend my reading time. Wonderful stories! I'm so glad that I made this purchase and I highly recommend this book! The authors are fantastic!

Black Cat Crossing consists of stories about black cats and mystery. Eleven authors come together to bring that old wise tale that black cats are bad luck to a screeching halt! Each story has a black cat in it and each has a mystery to solve, whether a murder, werewolves or just the normal witchcraft these stories will keep you reading until the end of each and want to not stop until they are all read.

Eleven Cozy Mystery Writers celebrate the spooktacular on Halloween. Anthologies are spectacular ways to discover new authors and new genre. As winds howl on a dark night in the Midwest curl up with some spiced cider and read to your hearts content exploring things that go bump in the night. Witches, ghosts, black cats and more. You won't be disappointed. This avid reader of cozy mysteries and romances, was not aware that Raine English wrote cozy mysteries under the name Izzy Wilder. So fun.
