Murphy Umanski, personal assistant and sister to Nova LaRue, the beautiful, popular Instagram influencer, has her hands full keeping her client in check. Nova has a big following, a big mouth, and because of it, she has even a bigger problem.
After posting an anonymous and inflammatory comment on a rival's Instagram page, someone turns her into a troll—and not the cute little troll doll so popularly used as a good luck charm in a rollicking game of bingo. No, in fact, Nova looks like something that lives in a hole carved out in a tree in a haunted forest.
When Murphy reaches out to the OOPS gang for help, she ends up having an accident of her own. Rushing to the sisters' aid is the newly-minted Troll King himself, Sten Peerson. Big, muscly, green-haired Sten The Troll King…
Dreamy sigh, right?
Well, sort of. Not making things any easier is his wild attraction to Murphy—which is leaving him unfocused in his new role as king. But as always, with every new turning comes the inevitable bad news.
Nova’s powers as a troll are a highly sought-after commodity in the troll world. And if Sten can’t figure out how to turn her back or find someone who can, she’s one dead rearview mirror decoration...

These books are so formulaic, but that doesn't mean they don't work. In this installment, Murphy Umanski seeks help from the women of OOPs when her sister is accidentally transformed into a troll. When the troll king comes to the rescue, he accidentally touches Murphy with his knife infused with troll magic, and she begins to transform as well. All of this starts because Sten's half-sister has put a curse on Murphy's sister, who is her instagram rival. Now everyone is on the trail of the evil troll who gave Bellamy the curse, which transformed Murphy's sister. If you have ever read an Accidental romance, you can expect that the women of OOPs will help those in trouble without fail, the main character's life will be changed including finding the love of her life, and the new character will from this point forward become a member of the OOPs framily, as they call it in the book. Like I said, Cassidy sticks to the formula. The only thing that really changes has to do with the type of paranormal the victim will become. The characters are true to form, but their devotion to each other and their clients is a constant. Along the way, the author subtly inserts her themes about love and family, along with her topic du jour. In this case, she puts emphasis on philanthropic pursuits- in particular, rescue shelters. So, in many ways, the paranormal books are virtually clones, but the messages they contain never get old.
The OOPS gang is back and taking on pop culture and several accidental transformations by different means. This book is as sweet and sassy as any of the others but for some reason this book touched me more deeply. I was of course rooting for Murphy and Sten but I think it was Nova and Bella’s transformation that got to me most. An emotional ride wrapped up in a hilarious romp.
So, anyone who's anyone who knows me knows that books are my liiiife! I am constantly on the lookout for another book to catch my eye or author who really entertains my almost obsessive need for the written word. While I will read just about anything - the running joke is if I get desperate enough, the back of a cereal box can and will be used for emergency reading material - reading more than two of three books by the same author is not something that happens all the time. The list of authors who fit into that elite category is a short one!
I remember the very first Accidental book of Dakota's that I read. It was Accidentally Catty. In fact, I'm pretty sure that was the FIRST Dakota Cassidy book I read! Anyhoo, when I finished reading it, I immediately had to find and read the ones released prior to Catty because I had finally found my soul sister writer! Dakota has such a wicked sense of humour and her books engage the reader by using that talent for funny in such a way that I often find myself laughing for the better part of the book I'm reading. Accidental Troll did not fail to impress. I love how characters from previous books can - and do - make appearances in her current Accidental book. Dakota has created a whole new world (cue the Aladdin song with those last three words) in which family is not who you share genes or parents with, but a family is where shared experiences - good and bad - connects everyone. The characters in her Accidental series are like onions - the more layers you pull back, the deeper understanding of what makes them easy to relate to and love is exposed. It takes someone special to be able to do that - and Dakota is THAT Special One! Nineteen books into the Accidental series, and each new addition is fresh and full of intrigue, humour, and belief that everyone belongs, no matter who or what they are! That special something is what I believe (IMHO) a staple for anyone who loves the paranormal genre that Dakota has created. My only issue is that I get so caught up in each one that it takes literally, only a day or two for me to finish them and then I end up going into DTs from the forced withdrawal. So, I may be done with this book - and secretly wondering where I can find my own nurturing Archibald Troll - but I will NEVER be done with reading any of the Accidental books and everything else that Dakota Cassidy writes. Gonna go hide in a corner now and not-so-patiently wait for Accidentally Divine to come out...
I Love Love this series. Every time I read one I think there is no way they can get better and yet they always do!! In this installment of the Accidental series Murphy’s sister Nova gets turned into a troll. When Murphy calls the OOPS girls for help hilarity and mystery unfold. Throw in a sexy troll King and the mystery of a forbidden curse and you just can’t put this one down.
I love this entire series!!! I have reread the 1st 5 book a few times now and will probably reread them all multiple times again. I finally got the books 6 thru 19 and LOVE them all.
This book is great just like all of them. I love that the main characters are sisters but both accidentals this time, we have seen siblings jn past books but this spin is great. I am also a bit jealous of Murphys pink hair. I think the ex showing up is nice but I was nicely surprised how that went, shouldn't have been because Dakota Cassidy is such an AMAZING writer. I would completely recommend the entire series. Even though its book 19 I believe you are given just enough back story to follow along even if you havent read the other but not enough that fans feel like skipping ahead to jump past the recapping.
I liked the main guy also, orange and green ha perfect and unique.
I hope to one day get a novella or full length book about all the characters coming together from all the books, no I want to be part of that one 😁😁, they are so great.
Murphy has been a somewhat, of a doormat, for her sister, Nova, for years.
But an Insta fight with another 'influencer' ends up badly when Nova is turned into a Troll.
How many wish certain RL ones could get a taste of this medicine??? Not just me then lol.
But suddenly there's a knocking on the door as Murphy and the ladies of OOPS are trying to figure out WTH, and a handsome orange eyed man appears..........and things really go wrong when Murphy gets turned into a Troll too.
I adore the characters, Sten is a wonderful King, both Nova and Bellamy are Insta BRATS!
But Murphy is realising it's about time to stop coddling Nova/Dina and make her realise how poorly some of her life choices are.
YOU HAVE TO READ THESE. Funny and full of paranormal, crazy friendship and Framily. I absolutely love this series Dakota thank you for giving me the gift of laughter in the troubling times we have been facing in our communities. I laughed so much my family grew a little concerned. Nina is the best. I love them all, but man she is who I want to be if ever I'm an accidental. Just keep writing, these stories are wonderful escapism in a world gone mad.
This series is hilarious. Dakota Cassidy continues to amaze me with her imagination. She is able to combine adventure, mystery and the paranormal in a way that is brilliant. I rarely read anything twice yet i have read this series several times and have even bought the audiobooks. Do yourselves a favor and start with book one but i am warning you....you will have all 19 books before you know it.
Murphy has spent most of her life since her sister was 14 taken care of her. Nova treated her like hired help and usually blamed her for everything that happened. Nova was a social millionaire. Murphy didn’t have anything for herself and when her sister came in looking like something out of a horror movie she didn’t know what to do, but find the website for the oops ladies.. and so the troll story begins..
I have read all of Dakota’s Accidental paranormal books and I can say each one is engaging and grabs you immediately. Each book stands on its own and is outstanding! I am really looking forward to the next one. (Until then, I will be re-reading them all in order)
I couldn't put this book down. With how bad things are getting right now it comes as a relief to be able to escape to another place where HEA is possible. I've read the entire series multiple times and I've enjoyed it everytime . I would love to recommend this whole series to everybody who loves sarcasm and having a good adventure.
Another great Accidental from Dakota Cassidy. This series always adds more dynamic characters to the ever growing family, which never gets old. The who dunnit always is a great ride along with story book romances. And last but not least our favorite potty mouth vampire Nina is always around to give you a chuckle when you need it most.
I have either listened or read all of Dakota Cassidy's Accidental books and this one was absolutely wonderful. I laughed and cried at times but the HEA ending was worth it. I wish she could write one of these every month. I like her other books too but these are my favorite.
Funny, sweet and sassy, as any book in this Accidental series. Love Murphy and how her life shaped up. Read this in one sitting and the hubby kept saying, what's so funny! You keep writing them Pretty Lady, and I'll keep reading them.
I like these because they are wholesome and easy reads. Even with all of the snark, there is such love and togetherness in this series. Everyone always ends up part of this wonderful framily, it just leaves me with a smile. Waiting for the next one!
This was a cute romp with the ladies. It did meander a bit and I was disappointed that there was no Epilogue. But I love Arch and I’m glad he’s back to an immortal!
This one was another fun outing. Seeing them still helping people after all this time is impressive. And they keep finding new supernaturals- and learning how to help them.
