I loved me some Cassius Avery. Everything about this man was so swoon worthy. He and Tru were the perfect match. They had great chemistry and were just so cute together. Both of them were dealing with bad breakups from previous relationships so, a new entanglement was the last thing on either of their minds. Tru and Cassius' exes were trash. Sienna and Dro are horrible people who have no business being in any kind of relationship. They broke Tru and Cassius' hearts then, refused to let go so they could both move on. With all of the conflict they tried to cause, I'm honestly surprised there wasn't a lot more drama. I was definitely expecting Sienna to cause some kind of trouble. With no roadblocks keeping them apart, Tru and Cassius were able to find love and live HEA. Cliched I know but, it's true. No pun intended. Forever Tru was a cute love story with a beautifully developed storyline. It was sweet and refreshing with little to no drama. I encourage everyone to read this book. You will not be disappointed. I sure hope Journey and Steel start speaking to the author because, these two definitely need their story told.
KC did a fantastic job with this story. In this story, we follow the lives of Cash and True, two individuals from vastly different worlds who find solace and love in each other. Cash was a single father and a mogul in the music industry. Heis well-known and well-liked, with significant influence. True is a talented photographer, still grappling with the trauma of a past relationship. She and her sister, her best friend, share such a beautiful relationship and bond. Cash’s pursuit of True begins when she is hired to shoot a session for him. Although the initial introduction was a little rough, because both have big personalities, it was clear the attraction was there. Cash went after with genuine intentions, blossoming from a friendship into something much deeper. Despite her initial hesitation and cautious approach, True finds herself unable to resist the undeniable chemistry and growing feelings she has for Cash. Their connection is palpable, making their journey together both heartwarming and compelling. The side characters are also fantastic, adding so much depth and richness to the story. This was a great read. We got a lot of growth, healing, parenting, and my favorite, loooove....
I can't believe it took me so long to finish this book. This was a well done contemporary romance novel. Tru is a photographer and Cash is a music producer. He's an asshole when they meet but Tru was a real chick and I liked her instantly. We watched their relationship develop from acquaintances to lovers. They communicated well and there were no misunderstandings or breakups. Very well done.
I must’ve been on a social media break when this dropped and I’m mad I’m just now finding it, but let me tell y’all this book was soooooooo good. I smiled so much during Cash and Tru’s courtship they were just too cute for words. Cassius was just everything 😍 I loved how he pursued Tru and how she wasn’t tryna take it there with him and then boom they’re growing in love and I’m so happy because I’m a sucker for love. I didn’t like Sienna’s ole hating ass she really thought she was gone stop something. Ooouuu and Cassius’ parents now that’s a whole ‘’nother book. Overall an amazing read that I didn’t want to end. KC is a genius with that pen foreal the GOAT periodt. 👏🏾 👏🏾 👏🏾
Cass was everything! 😮💨the way he went after Tru was super cute and I knew when he was acting like she was a bother that it was all a front. I enjoyed this one! The audiobook was done well. ❤️
This was really good.I loved Cassius and Tru's story. It was hard for me to stop reading. Can't wait to read the next book with Tru's sister Journey and Cassius' bodyguard Steele. I just know their story is going to be just as good. The only bad thing was the editing. There were a lot of errors and some misspelled words .
This is the first of me reading K.C. Mills work. This story is about Tru and Cassius, Tru a photographer and Cassius a record producer. When Cassius’s photographer must leave town for an emergency, Tru is hired to take photos of Cash for a documentary. However, Cash and Tru’s first encounter did not get off to a welcoming start. After Cassius got past his initial rudeness and arrogance, his behavior changed with his attraction and passion for Tru, bringing out his true side; to love and be loved. Although, there were complication surrounding their relationship, their romance blossomed.
What I will say is every time I put this book/audio down, I was eager to pick it back up. There was a lot going on dealing with their family, past relationships, and the unwanted attention from social media due to Cassius fame. This story got my attention, and I was eager to read more. I enjoyed this book and I recommend. A good read with a rating of 4 out of 5 stars.
My idea of Cast: DeForest Buckner as Cassius Olivia Nelson, r & b singer, as Tru
Why does Cash love Tru? If someone were to ask me, do you know what I would say? "Um, he's feeling her, he likes her big hair, and she's feeling him too?"
Yeah, obviously, I can't defend why they are in Love. Authors need to do better for real. Is this a dark romance? No. It's a romance book, but where's the romance? Where's the laughter, the blush, the "awwn" that we readers feel? Definitely not in this book.
First, let's talk about Cash. How did he fall in love and when? Why? Cause I don't know and everything in his POV was sexual. it's either her body or her hair or how she doesn't give a fuck about his money and how she talks back. Like please, does this count? 🙄😂 Give me a fucking break. Where are the significant cute moments? Where are the scenes that would convince me, the reader, that he's in love with the FMC? Everything was just out of place, fast paced, that the only thing I digged was that there was sexual connection between them? I don't know frrr.
Now for our FMC. I can understand why she fell in love with Cash. He's hot, rich, when he talk he backs it up, he shows action, he says what he means, he's manly, kind and with morals. But our FMC? WHY did Cash fall in love with her? Yes, she has big hair, sweet body, she talks back, she doesn't give a shit, but is that all? Tru was a character the Author created that got me tired. I didn't see anything special about her, in their relationship, it was always about the "women" in Cash's life and other issue and never really THEM. And if it's them, it's something about his past life and sex🙄. Where are the cute moments again? Like maybe she dancing to his music, gifting each other cute stuffs, teaching him about photography and doing something magical with her talent?? Giving advice, doing little things and more that makes a reader go, "Yes, they love each other" where is it? That's right, it's not there. Even the relationship with Ava, Cash's baby girl isn't special. Like, damn girl, what makes our FMC special?
This book is just a normal romance book, nothing too special about it. It was lovely, yes, I finished the book, but it wasn't all that. Why? Because it was lacking. I hate when Authors write romance books that doesn't justify why the characters are in love. Even the miscarriage and abortion topic was not touched on. Everything was just all over the place. It's why I read M/M dark romance these days, cause I know what I'm getting into when I read them. Again, Authors need to do better. You give everything to the male character in your book, and leave the female character peanuts. So tiring and frustrating.
I loved me some Cassius. Everything about him was just 😍. Their love story was sweet with not to much drama and even though they moved fast, the story still wasn't rushed and developed beautifully. Mrs. Mills never disappointments. She's one of the few authors who releases i jump on as soon as they drop.
This was my first book by this author and I loved it. It started off with a bang and I fell in love with every single person! Not nasty but sensual. Romantic and sweet. I do want to read her sisters story (Journey). Even though she kinda got on my nerves, it still seems like it will be a good book.
This was a fun read the banter between these two was so real, I really could relate. So many times I was like yea I would have said that. I laugh, blushed, and was cheesing thru out this book. Not a slow burn in my opinion like the author says, cause it kept my attention and the story didn’t feel like it was drawn out.
I am a avid fan of Ms. Mills and this book did not disappoint me. The entry into the music world wrapped around two torn people who found love together, was excellent. I encourage everyone to read this book and her other stories. You will not be disappointed.
This was a cute love story! I like how they stood together and didn’t fold when they were outed. It was so realistic because people hide kids and relationships daily, I can’t wait to read about steel and journey
Omg, this was such a feel good read and love story. Cash is forever bae. The way he loved Tru gave me all the feels. K.C. never disappoints! Excited for what’s next!
I need more of K.C Miller! I first came across the author from a booktuber and initially was intrigued just based on the cover like most books. Coming out of a long reading slump “Forever Tru” hit the mark! Tru and Cash not an instant love but close enough. The author mentioned it was a slow burn but that did not give this book justice. It was just enough of character build, romance, and spice. Both characters were flawed and graceful in their journey in navigating their connection. I felt drawn to turning the page not wanting to skip a beat. However, bad their previous relationships were it didn’t seem to change the trajectory of their path to love and happiness. Such a beautifully written book and very entertaining story!

Enemies to Lovers and I’m always here for it! Tru and Cash were an interesting dynamic that I did question in the beginning how this was going to work. There were a lot of elements that were in the way of them actually being together and honestly a lot more drama than I thought was necessary, but that’s probably why I kept reading. I wanted to see them make it through! I do feel like their love was a little instant love which sometimes I am here for and it necessarily a deal breaker for me with this book. Overall I enjoyed it and I read to this book by audio. Narrators were pretty good. Narration by Leon Nixon and Morae Brehon.
I enjoyed this book (a few typos but it didn't matter). It was refreshing too get a new range of people ...who had success but different and whom had real values and the story line developed well and flowed. Cash was mood...Try was a vibe and I loved me some Journey an Steel. Enjoyed
Tru is a photographer, hired to a do a last minute job for Cassius Avery, producer extraordinaire. But a rocky beginning has her never really wanting to see him again, despite her attraction. But Cash is just as attracted... and he isn't going away.
I love this book. I love that the characters had so much nuance, so many reasons why they were the people they were. And that the author took the time to let that unfold. They were complicated people, but their love was easy--it's my favorite kind of romance, really. Tru held back, but she had good reason, and going at her pace paid off for her. Cash was focused and intentional without being pushy, and he was honest about every part of his situation. His struggles with loving wholly were felt, but I wish he'd been able to vent some of the resentment for BOTH his parents. His mothers choices were her own, but the way she still clung to Cash made those choices continue to affect him and I wish she would have owned that. His father got off easy considering, but i was happy he was able to be honest after so many years.
Cash making the hard choices for his daughter and laying his cards on the table for his ex were key parts of him that I appreciated as the story went on. Tru's family dynamic was less complicated, but still impactful. It was a nice balance after everything Cash had going on. Dro deserved worse. I love to see controlling men get put in their place. The families joining was a nice touch and I love that they knew it was right and went with it.
This story was unexpected, in the best possible way. It had wonderful pacing, and I was happy Cash and Tru kept it together. It made things balanced. Loved.
Andddd another one, although a bit boring and blah, it was still ok!
And MS. Mills did it again and got herself another awsome, wonderful reading. True and Cassius were the bomb as a couple and individually they we all that. True was really a no nonsense kind of girl and although she was trying to be or play rough, she was really a very sensitive strong educated young woman. Cassius "cash" was all of that and then some. Alpha and undeterred, he knew what he wanted he went after it. Very sensitive and loyal, this definitely had him at bae. This couple and this story was cute, wonderful, and tentative at first and probably was the reason why although it was good, it was a bit boring to say the least. I mean if it had more outrageous events and romance, it would have taken away from the mundane type of romance that was portrayed. You know a crazy fan or Dro becoming a little bit violent, etc... What killed me was the laid back attitude of Tru regarding Sienna and the acceptance attitude of Cash regarding Sienna. Man, I knew then this was fiction, because no way in real life could we have been so "nice" on both sides. Come on, these two were legends but nothing was mentioned, or said and there weren't to many paparazzi or events. It's like this was just a book, with no research and anything like that a blah story.
I loved, loved this story. When I first started reading this story I was wondering where K.C. Mills was heading with this story, but I soon realized that this story was going to be interesting. I just didn't know how good it was going to be. Tru Bisset is a professional photographer who was called in to substitute for this photographer who was temporarily not able to photograph the famous Cassius Avery who is known as the Billion Dollar Cash the Producer Man. He produces different famous singers in particular Sienna who we find out is his ex and that they have a child together. Tru happens to be there on this occasion and Cassius is her client and they seem to but heads but keep on reading and you will find out that this is really an exciting romantic story that happens between these two with the cast of characters trying to keep them apart, even their selves. I would highly recommend this story it was truly worth reading and I will be reading it again and more stories by K.C. Mills.
I kept skipping this book when it showed up in my recommendations because I was sure I had already read it yeats ago, but it turns out that I hadn't read it and I had been missing out all this time. I really liked Cash and Tru... especially Tru. She is my favorite type of female lead, smart, funny and aware of her worth. She had some terrible moments courtesy of two people who fumbled her heart but thankfully, she didn't let that harden her or make her miss out on her blessing. The blessing was Cash, who was not without his own drama cause Lawd knows his baby momma and his daddy were enough to run my pressure up. But overall, the two main leads and their supporting characters gave me all the feels. The only thing I wish I could have seen more of was Tru and Ava's relationship. That part wasn't really detailed and with Ava being such a big part of Cash's life, I wish we could have seen that relationship develop on page as well. Overall though, I really liked this one... a lot!
Honestly this would have been a great book to me had it not been for the errors. And the way that it reminded me of her other books. I love a HEA but when sex scenes or any scenes start to repeat themselves from the same author I get kinda irritated.
Tru, that was my girl. She was a boss, focused on what she wanted. I wish we knew about him cheating with her best friend in the beginning. I kept wondering who ‘her’ was. But Cash, he was a true sweetheart when he finally showed who he really was. I wish I could’ve seen the bond between Ava and Tru grow because I feel like that would’ve been cute.
Sienna was too much and she was very much speechless when Tru read her and I was very much glad she did. Sienna needed to be pig in her place and until she was, she was gonna always gun for Tru and Cassius relationship.
This book was a hard one to get through. I finished it quick but that's because I skipped through so much of it to get to what I thought would be good parts. K.C. Mills use to easily be number 3 on my top 3 favorite authors. Don't get me wrong she is a good writer and like someone else mentioned the errors weren't that bad in this story, but it was just soooo boring and dry. Like nothing happened at all. Another thing I've noticed is that she has to constantly repeat how fine a character is, it's like okay we get it can we not read that again. There was really no drama, no real reason for the story to have been written. I am glad this was a standalone. I did like Steel's character though.
This was such a sweet love story between Cash and Tru. Cash had such a complicated situation with Si, Ava, and his father. I really hate to see children treated as secrets and always wonder how they would feel when they realize it. Cash was a good illustration of how it affects kids in that situation. I love the spin of how his father was really into his mom though. Dro’s refusal to let Tru go irked my soul but I was happy to see he met his match with Cassius. Steele was cool with me from day one! Journey was hilarious with her sisterly antics. I can’t wait to read about Steele’s fit sumo wrestling looking self and Nee😂
This book!!!! Amazing and wonderfully written. My girl is back doing her very own thing in a big way and it shows. Love, love Tru she is the epitome of keeping it real and doing it her way. I love the way she didn't let Cash's success derail her from ever thinking she wasn't enough. Now let me tell you about my big boy toy Steele let's just say a hunk of burning love that we got teased with. Journey there's more to that girl and I hope her character returns. We are not about to leave out lil spit fire Ava that keeps her daddy in check, but Sienna can kick rocks. Very good read with an awesome character line up.
I liked the development of the characters' relationship. The book could use a lot of editing though. Also, it was weird that Tru's character said Ja’dor and Sofie were keeping it age appropriate by not sitting on the same lounge chair and not showing affection. Cash and Tru were doing both of those things so why was appropriate for them to do in front of Ava but not the lesbian couple? It was ignorant and definitely show's the author's prejudice. Confusing that there isn't more progressive thinking since this book was released in 2020.
The name of this book should of been “Just Us” it just makes more sense. Umm I enjoyed this book, I did get bored towards the middle of the book, probably they didn’t stop playing that cat and mouse game until about 85% of the book. I was like “Finally! Tru admits she likes him, what’s next?...” And then the drama started (which is where the book picked up). Overall good read. Can’t wait for Steel and Journey.
