"My Mother's Love" is about a famous painter Alicia Frankford who commits suicide. She is beautiful, successful, and has a happy marriage. While she lives a perfect life on the outside, the reality is so much different. Shocked by her death, her lover Cliff embarks on a quest to find out the reason behind her sudden death. . First, the plot was interesting. The novel unfolds to reveal the details of her life in much more depth. The story is fairly predictable but there were some twists I didn't see coming. Language is simple, and it's easy to get into the story. . The book talks about the negative aspects of a celebrity's life. Behind all the glitz and glamour, their life isn't their own and they have to be careful of the image they portray. Another thing the book talks about is rape. This was well done. The author has done a great job of showing the reality of how rape victims are treated. . Now, some things here had a scope of improvement. As someone who has been reading for a long time, from the framing of sentences and usage of words, it's obvious that the book is written by a first-time author. The book didn't convey a cohesive story. It's more "telling than showing" which is why it felt like I'm just reading words and not reading a story. . Next, I wasn't emotionally invested and I felt like the characters were doing and saying things just to drive the plot forward instead of having a valid reason. Also, I felt it needed better editing because I came across a few broken sentences and words in capital letters that weren't needed. . *Spoiler Alert* . (Things that didn't make sense: Police didn't seem to care about investigating this famous artist; Alicia was raped which became big news so she moved to a different town but didn't change her name and became famous yet the media didn't dig up this detail from her past; Husband never became a suspect, Her mother didn't even suggest abortion when she found out her daughter who was raped became pregnant.) . All in all, it was an ok read. I'd like to thank the author for asking me to review the book, and this was my honest opinion.
Thank you to NetGalley for providing me an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
My first impressions of this My Mother's Love was that it would be a murder mystery that I could post on my blog and talk about how if you were interested in this genre you should pick it up. However I can't do that.
I DNF'ed this book at 63% when I discovered that there was in*est in this book and I was uncomfortable and deeply disturbed by this, pushing me to not be able to move on further into this book. There was also a rape scene earlier in the book that I - while have seen rape scenes in other books - was very disturbed as to who had raped the main character.
My first thought was that maybe it was actually a ruse, that it was not in*est (who the main character had a relationship with) and that was one of the reasons I went further into the book, but the person who raped her was unexpected and to learn that she was having a relationship with a man in which she later finds out was actually an in*estuous relationship was something I cannot continue reading.
This book definitely shocked me and saddened me that I could not love this book.
And while I probably got an uncorrected copy, I found that this book was a more tell and not show. The whole time I was reading it there was nothing that would paint a picture in my head and I was merely reading words on a page. And perhaps it was the uncorrected format but I found that there were a lot of caps happening. All of a sudden you'll be reading a part of the book and then be reading words that have unnecessary caps lock on them. Maybe it was just my copy but that was not appealing at all. And the characters seemed to yell at each other too often and even when the time to yell was unnecessary.
I wanted to love this because murder mystery is one of my favorite sub-genres of mystery and thriller but this did not hit any of the boxes and left me feeling ill. I could not bring myself to finish this.
Thank you again to NetGalley for providing me an ARC.
I would also like to say that Rishika Chopra messaged me on Instagram to read her book and I was honored to. I don't want to say no unless I had a valid reason to so I went into this book completely blind.
I truly am sorry to Rishika Chopra as in all honesty I did want to love this book but could not.
I was sent this ebook and asked to give a review of it. As a writer, I love being able to support indie authors and also have the opportunity to provide constructive feedback 💛 A fun, easy read with devilish twists and exploration of tough themes. What I liked: The plot twist at about 60% in was unexpected! And really ties in the title of this book in a unique way. I like the way the story goes back and forth through time as a way of flushing out and sharing the stories of the characters. And instead of chapters, the different time periods keep track of the story and I liked that change from other books I read. What could use some improvement: The writing sounded juvenile and “bumpy” at times. Sometimes it read like a play or fanfic and I found I had to reread lines to make sense of something. The dialogue was very awkward and redundant. I rated it 3 stars on good reads, but it’s more of a 2.5 for me. The story and plot is good and I think others will enjoy it. Especially if you love a mystery and complex characters. But I just didn’t love the writing style and found it too bumpy and incomplete to be enjoyable for the level I hold authors at. Thanks for letting me read, I wish you the best with future endeavours of course! ❤️
Sometimes We read such stories which realises that how our society is full with discrimination and trust is loosing it's value daily !
My mother's love By Rishika Chopra is a book like that. The Story starts with suicide of Alicia , famous painter. Alicia used to reveal dark secrets of life through her pictures. Alicia's death has shattered her boyfriend Cliff more than her husband .
Alicia's marriage life was famous enough, and they used to call " best couple" . But she has lately discovered about his affairs. Not only her current life but experiences of Alicia weren't also great. All these made her life a huge mess . And in this mess Cliff was her relief.
In the beginning of the story while Alicia was introduced she reminds me so much of Alicia from "Silent Patient" . I expected a similar story . But I'm glad that I was proved to be wrong !
The plot is concrete and unpredictable. The story is fast paced which is required in thriller. I liked the character Cliff because I could feel his pain. Author's work with the character portrait must be admired .
Love spares no one. Love itself is in love with destruction. It spares none, not even the happiest ones.”
I finished reading ‘My Mother’s Love’ by Rishika Chopra in one go. It didn’t take me long to finish this book. I absolutely enjoyed reading And to be honest, It did confuse me a little at the start, but as I progressed and the story continued, I just wanted to know the end. (May be that’s just me) I would really suggest y’all to read this amazing fast paced mystery. The story started with Ali’s suicide and was filled with twists and turns. I absolutely loved the writing and how the author described each and everything in detail, mainly Ali’s pain and everything that she went through. It felt as if she had a voice. The suspense in this story was right on point, and I was on the edge of my seat for a lot of moments. There were just very few moments where I felt like the story was slow and confusing, but for the most part, this book was absolutely engaging and a a great read!
The book starts with Alicia committing suicide. Alicia Frankford is a famous artist She lived with her husband Paul who as people say is s good husband and they make a happy couple but the question is was it really true? Because if it was then what made Alicia end her own life? Was it really a suicide or a planned murder? Alicia was in love with Cliff, her student a friendship turned to pure love. Cliff was a young and handsome artist and as he found inspiration in Alicia at the same time he fell in love with her. Cliff, when learned about her death, found it hard to believe that did kill herself and that she was mentally depressed. and started investigating leading to more questions. The book is a crime thriller which will keep you on the edge with all the twists. The writing is fast-paced and easy to understand. It was a great book and I would totally recommend it. Happy reads!
My experience with this book was quite a roller coaster ride, there were parts which I was in awe with, while there were parts as well where I was a bit disappointed.
"My Mother's Love" is the debut novel of Rishika Chopra, and through it, she tells a tale of the unconditional affection for family, of love and betrayal, and lust and infatuation. Being a highly well-devised thriller the book is, it curls around the plot like a huge serpent--slithering upon sensitive nuances of our hidden guilts and regrets, and promisingly keeping the readers hooked to its unpredictable twists and turns.
The story commences with the astounding suicide of a famous, rich painter named Alicia Frankford. Although her abusive husband Paul and the police are detrimental in tagging it as a mere suicide owing to Alicia's poor mental health condition, Alicia's student and her intimate lover Cliff is convinced that her death has something more to it. Bereaved and pain-stricken, Cliff recollects the wonderful times he had spent with Alicia, during which the latter had been able to forget about her corroded relationship with Paul and about the grief she had been bearing since her childhood. Taking us through a flashback, the author then captures the budding friendship between Alicia and Cliff, how it had beautifully turned to pure love. More characters come to the scene--Alicia's childhood friend Trisha, Cliff's roommate Keith and his girlfriend Tiara. Progressing with Cliff's hunt for the truth behind Alicia's death, the author then discloses Alicia’s lost child—the one she had abandoned at a very tender age due to unimaginable circumstances. When Cliff thinks he has reached a dead end, a woman named Erica suddenly declares herself to be Alicia’s daughter. Is she really Alicia’s daughter? Or could it be that Alicia was hiding many more secrets as a mother than she was hiding as a faithful wife? Who is her lost child and what relation does he/she have to Alicia’s mysterious demise ?
Rishika Chopra’s storytelling prowess is much ahead of other contemporary new authors. The story glides forward quite smoothly, and one sub-plot keeps appearing after the other, pushing the story to a very multi-layered execution. The pace of the book is decent, the characters are well-planned and they all have their individual roles to play in the storyline. Owing to the many shades and shadows of the story’s backdrop, the narration is well balanced. Many of the revelations and disclosures happen through conversations, and the author tries to counter it with enough elaborative elements giving much insight into the minds of the characters. Interestingly, the plot twists and cliff-hangers became too melodramatic and forceful at times, and this over-indulgence makes the storyline a bit tangled. The conversations could have been brisker and more realistic, too add an extra flavour to that segment of the story. Towards the middle of the book, the plot loses its clarity, however it is rectified as the book proceeds towards the climax.
Rishika has tried to encompass certain bold elements into her story. The essence of concepts like extramarital affairs, infidelity, domestic abuse, adultery—has been weaved commendably into the storyline. She has tried to showcase the humane sides of criminals and law-breakers and this crowns the book with a modern and controversial outlook—making empathy and audacity scream out of the pages. The book deserves a hearty recommendation from my side. Quite an adult and mature read, this book definitely holds the capacity to connect to its readers.
Disclaimer: This review is in lieu of a review copy.
My Mother's Love is a debut novel of budding author Rishika Chopra about Alicia Frankford, a renowned painter, who lived an impeccable life on the outside but on the inside it's more complicated than that. The book cover is pretty and the title is very accurate. This novel is brimming with emotions, suspense, treachery, romance, and violence.
The plot was engrossing and catchy and the narration was really good. Language is lucid and easy so the freshers won't face any problems getting into the story. The way Rishika shifted the storyline from one timeline to another was very well done. Characterization was great. I was deeply connected with Alicia, who was going through hell of a life with strong and relentless determination. I love a good thriller so I was fully invested in the story from the start. The way Alicia described her artwork suggests that the author may have done extensive research on the matter. The pacing of the story was very good whereas the mind-numbing big-reveal just blew me away!
I did not like romance at all because of instant love. The mystery aspect of the book could've been better and the characters were doing things recklessly without considering all the facts. The police work was very sloppy and lax, like they were begging someone else to solve the case. The end was so sudden that everything resolved spontaneously in an instant.
All in all, a wonderful thought-provoking read. The novel covers some major issues like rape and depression wonderfully. The book left me with so many unanswered questions that I cannot wait for it's sequel to find them all out. I would recommend this book to everyone. 🙂
Book: My Mother's Love | Author: Rishika Chopra | Genre: Thriller |
MY SUMMARY: When an elite and famous painter - Mrs. Alicia Frankford commits suicide, her death becomes more of a gossip than a tragedy! Speculations arise around the circumstances of her death and her lover swears to uncover the truth behind her death. Is this really a suicide? If it's not, then who killed her? - her husband? Her lover? The plot uncovers not only the secret behind her death but also shocking revelations of her past.
REVIEW: The books starts off with a basic premise of a suicide/murder dilemma and it's like being at the beginning of a rollercoaster. Once we get deep into the story, we are hit too many times by adrenaline rushes due to the amazing twists, a few of which are highly unexpected. Just when you think you have figured it out, you'll be hit with a twist. The story is beautifully written with a lot of insights into the characters pasts and feelings. It made me connect with the lead characters and I shed a tear discovering the circumstances of Alicia's death. The book deals with two very important social stigmas and though I don't wanna reveal them and give you spoilers, I want to give props to the author for talking about them so well. The ending gave me chills and disappointed at the same time because it was a cliffhanger. I can't wait to read part II. The catch for me was that the cause of Alicia's death was obvious from the beginning and I would have loved the book more if that part wasn't predictable.
With a bold and fascinating storyline Rishika Chopra's debut novel is a treat for people who like dark romance, mystery and crime. The story revolves around a renowned celebrity artist, Alicia, who committed suicide. Or that's what it looked like. It starts with a clear one way thought of suicide until her affair,Cliff, starts suspecting otherwise. Lots of events and secrets unfold and we are subjected to many unexpected twists. The story develops well through the events and you'll find yourself hooked on few chapters to understand what exactly is happening. (And who doesn't love that!) If you've read my previous reviews, you Know am a fan of proper characterization. And the author managed to do that very well by switching between past and present without leaving you confused. Which is quite likely to happen because of so many unexpected twists. However,I could feel the connection with Ali and reading about her past was emotionally draining. I loved how the author manages to create a bond between the reader and the character. With an easy to read narration and page turner events happening all the through out the book, you'll not take long to finish. The storyline is captivating but draining at parts because of many scenes in the book that involve disturbing description. Apart from that, the book has a mix of thrill, romance, suspense, drama and everything else you can think of, but in the right proportions. I'd recommend if you can handle all the above. :) #spilledteareviews : 4/5
❤️BOOK REVIEW❤️ NAME OF THE BOOK: My mother’s love AUTHOR: Rishika Chopra Ratings: 🌟 🌟 🌟🌟 🌟/5
Summary: This book is a Crime- mystery thriller. It’s about Alicia being the main character and how her murder mystery is solved. Also Cliff being one of the main protagonist falls in love with Alicia and they have a beautiful love story. They seem to be inseparable, but only to know a harsh truth about themselves .
Review: This was a great read! The twists were crazy and got the story mysterious with every page . Initially this was a 4 star for me but the way the story dwells into the past and back to present along with the character switching was just so clean which got me give it an extra star. The ultimate secret and mystery about the book was a shock to me because I hadn’t guessed it to be so crazy . Although the end was just as I guessed. But nonetheless it was a great one. I loved how the author spoke about love and how crazy it can get in between the storyline without breaking the flow of the story. Also thank you so much to the author for the review copy❤️
The story centres around Alicia Frankford, who is a famous painter in the town of Whiskerson. She is found dead one night and the verdict is declared that it was suicide. But there's much more to the story than what meets the eye.
Alicia's paintings depict her dark secrets which no one can decipher. Alicia met Cliff, an aspiring painter who copied her paintings, 1.5 years before her death. She started teaching him to paint. They fell in love spontaneously.
Alicia was married to Paul, her highschool sweetheart. The marriage had already failed but Paul was reluctant to let her go because of her money.
The book surprises you at many instances and makes you curious about the truth.
The switching between the present and past was quite clean which is not the case in most of the books. The characters were well defined. The narration was clear.
The first half was much more interesting than the second half. At some points, there were too many unnecessary details. The end was pretty predictable, which spoiled the essence of mystery for me. Apart from all this, the story and it's background were good.
Story starts with the question that why Alicia committed suicide ?
Eye-strikingly beautiful Alicia Frankford a well renowned artist whose paintings depicted the dark secrets of her life. Alicia suffered a lot in her life right from her childhood. She used to live in her huge Bluber mansion with her once loving husband Paul.
Alicia meets a guy named Cliff, whom she later fell in love with.
As the story unfolds, it reveals many mysteries
I was astonished by the way the author described everything flawlessly. Her work is strikingly clear.
Thank you to Rishika Chopra for reaching out and providing me with a net galley copy in exchange for an honest review. This fast paced thriller keeps you guessing with plenty of plot twists and cliffhangers throughout. The book is a tough read at times due to the triggering nature of suicide and rape. The author uses the story to send the message that rape is not and will never be ok.
Famous artist Alicia is found to have commit suicide at the start of the story but her lover Cliff stops at nothing to uncover the truth, leading him to discover more than he bargained for.
My Mother's love is a debut novel of Rishika Chopra, I met your novel thanks to Instagram, I liked it a lot, it is more than a novel about a murder, it talks about feelings and the pain of a rape victim. For me another positive thing is that I am making progress with my English and this novel is highly recommended, easy to read and simple vocabulary.
If you read the synopsis and get confused, its ok.. I promise it gets good with reading. The story sticks to the book title, it is fast paced, controversial and alters between past and present timelines. The characters are cryptic, but they lack depth which was bothersome. The conversations between characters were vague and felt fake. Overall a nice, time-passing short read.
3.5/5 ⭐️
Thank you Publisher, Rishika Chopra and Netgalley for the arc. This review is my own honest opinion.
Alicia Frankford, an artist who enjoyed unparalleled fame, a secret philanthropist, had more than anything and everything that anyone could wish for. A 'perfect married life' with her husband Paul, unlimited wealth, a loving best friend Trisha, and what not. But there's always more than what actually meets the eye. Isn't it? . A celebrity's life is like an open book, with media & public anxious to intrude into their privacy. But somehow, Alicia had managed to veil that pretty well. Her life turned upside down when a guy named Cliff, a copy cat street artist who used to sell cheap rip offs of Alicia's paintings entered her life, almost as if destiny had been planning this for aeons. . Love can be quite tragic sometimes, and in case of Alicia it was twice. She didn't want to stay with the first one & she couldn't stay with the second. And one fine day, she decides to end all her sufferings, along with her life. But, were the demons from her past actually vanquished by her demise or were they actually revealed? What role did Cliff actually play in Alicia's life & death? What would happen to the deeply devastated husband, Paul? It was just a suicide, but was it all so simple? . 'My Mother's Love', the debut novel by author Rishika Chopra doesn't just talk about cheesy love making. It talks about RAPE and how deeply it scars the survivors soul. It talks about love, the most beautiful thing which can turn into one's worst nightmare. Filled with mystery, love, heartbreak, emotional conflicts, and a lot more than just that, this is an out of the box romantic thriller. And the best thing I felt was that it was quite realistic & in no way felt exaggerated. The writing style is really engaging & one could actually feel conflict of emotions while reading the entire book. At some point you feel like crying, at some point you're anguished, and then you're like WTF!!! And the transition of emotions is so subtle that somehow the reader would feel it all at once. A really controversial, but indeed a worthy read for sure. ❤️
"Life is not something that relies on the predicted probability; when reality transpires, the probability is the first thing that gets flung out the window."
My mother's love is a dark murder mystery with a plot-driven and a very controversial storyline. It's the debut novel of an aspiring author Rishika Chopra.
The story starts with the suicide note of Alicia Frankford, who jumps off her balcony, leaving everyone stunned about it. Alicia Frankford, who's well known, a world-famous artist who had painted many marvels in the world of art. For the world, she has an exemplary life, a good husband. But no one knows that she had a very dark past and used to reveal her secrets through her paintings, except a one.
She's always betrayed by life. Amidst all this, there is someone who she finds attractive and connected, and with him, she finds her impaired life completed. So why did Alicia kill herself?
The story is fast-paced, revealing the dark secrets of society. Depression, filthy manliness, brutality- these general issues are highlighted in the novel. The storyline is well revolved with the timeline and its characters.
I was just amazed by Rishika's bold writing. As being this her first novel, she wrote it exceptionally well. The story is worth reading which will keep you engaged till the end.
The debut novel by Author Rishika Chopra, 'My Mother's Love is a bold and intriguing novel with a brewing dark romance and mystery as it's centre plot. . The story begins with the suicide of a famous celebrity artist Alicia Frankford in the town of Wiskerson. She is someone who has the ideal life, a caring husband and a lovely friend yet there lies a deep sadness in her heart. She expresses her feelings through her paintings and they become such popular pieces of art bringing her fame and recognition. . One night after a party, she meets a guy names Cliff and things begin to start unraveling bit by bit. . Secrets unfold, her so called happy marriage falters and Alicia's whole life comes to a standstill. . Who is Cliff ? Why did she commit suicide or wait was it really a suicide ? Get to know these answers by reading this novel. . However I would like to place certain trigger warnings for the book. TW : Rape, Sexual Harassment. . Frames&Pages Verdict : An easy to understand narration and a good attempt for a debut novel. The first half was top notch but towards the second half it becomes predictable. . Frames&Pages Rating : ⭐⭐⭐ . I thank the author for the review copy! All the best for your future writings
Wow, just wow. The story is on messed up jumble of weirdness. I would of rated five stars but I didn't understand why the author had lol I'm th text. Good story for people who are looking for a unique story with twist and turns.

“I received this book as an ARC and I’m giving an honest review.”
“Love doesn’t know how to stop. Love is an alien to the customs and the rites of our world.”
I couldn’t agree more with this beautiful quote! Love, apparently, does not have a boundary. But like all other things, love too is not perfect.
My Mother’s Love is a very powerful book by an upcoming author Rishika Chopra. It is a Crime thriller with a tinge of Romance. For me this book was a quick but bumpy read. The emotions locked in this book are enough to keep any reader captive.
The cover of the book is so enthralling that the moment I laid my eyes on it, I just HAD to read the book. The story focuses on Alicia Frankford who is a painter. In order to grow out of an incident that marred her childhood, she turned to painting. Alicia has an ‘apparently’ perfect life or so the flashing cameras make us believe. What is hidden beneath this facade is what we unravel in the course of this book. I remember writing these 4 lines came to my mind when I read about Alicia -
“Year later she painted, All her past memories which left her tainted. The white canvas and paintbrush dipped in crimson red, Narrated a story, otherwise left unsaid.”
There were many parts of the book that I found enthralling. First of all, the plot was so amazing with appropriate twists and turns which had me jumping in my seat. Whenever the things started to cool down, the author threw in another twist and viola, you are back to panic mode! Apart from this, this story had a very beautiful message for the entire society which honesty was the best part. The characters were beautifully penned and I felt a deep rooted connection to most of the characters. I personally love the character of Cliff the most. I could practically feel his pain when he lost Alicia. The author has written the novel in the brutal light without anything lingering in the shadows. All the gory details rendered me speechless, but they were really necessary in order to create an impact. The narrative style of the author was vivid and descriptive which made it easier to imagine ourselves in the very story. I loved the command the author had over her language which was fancy yet easily comprehensible.
I personally would recommend this book to anyone who is looking for an eye opener and thought provoking Crime novel. It has everything. Drama, suspense, thrill, romance - you name it, this book has it. Trust me guys, you do not want to wish out on this beautiful novel. Go purchase this book. You won’t regret even a single second you spend reading it. Rather, it might just leave you craving for more!

REVIEW 📚
This book is a brilliant example of how odd love can be. The plot is different, something I haven't heard or read till date . Author , through this book, has tried to raise some issues in and about our society. Topics which we don't want to talk about . Characterization was amazing. I was deeply connected with Alicia, who was going through depression and suffering of Cliff. Language is easy to read so the freshers won't face any problems getting into the story. The pace of the story is decent . The story is beautifully written with a lot of insights into the characters pasts. The switching between the present and past was quite clean . We are hit too many times by adrenaline rushes due to the amazing twists, a few of which are highly unexpected. The revelation of past of Alicia is gut-wrenching I did not like romance initially because of instant love but later on it was justified. Some conversation were unnecessary and could have been edited. The mystery of the book at the end could've been better . The climax did fell short for me.
I'm not into murder mysteries much but, I did read this one and probably, I should start reading murder mysteries.
Every page you turn, makes you realise that "love while you can", and the second thing "love itself is in love with destruction". I wonder how it would have been for ALICIA and CLIFF, but then the whole destruction thing xD. Apart from the story line, I like how the author puts forth issues. The whole thing with Ali. You get away after doing stuff but for the victim, it kind of stays. Not enough, it effects them, every part of them. How she writes about Ali, she's a metaphor for so many people out there who don't speak their heart out and burden themselves. Then, she meets cliff, who himself is deprived of love his whole life, but teaches Ali how to live. Kind-of romances that happen in novels, the end is so tragic that it makes this novel clinge to your heart all the more. Loved it!

It took me soo long to finish this book because it drained me soo fast! The emotions the characters.. I started sharing my sympathy with the characters. I started hating a few too.
So initially the story starts off with a charming women, a renowned artist and celebrity named Alicia Frankford's suicide. That isn't it, the mystery evolves when her boyfriend cliff suspects a foul play.and begins to blame her husband Paul for the same. The story is filled with love, betrayal, hatred, murder or suicide mystery.
I enjoyed reading because it was unpredictable.. A few plot twists blew my mind! There were places where I teared up,Where I was angry. A surge of emotions... This book is worth a read.
A must read thriller with out of the box thinking. Hard to believe this was the debut book of the author. Raises issues about society that must be addressed. Brutal and captivating.

Hey bookish peepz 🖤🌺🖤🌺🖤...... Off the bat I'm going to say that this book was amazing 😍😍😍...... Though trigger warning for sexual assault and suicide.....I don't even know where to begin with this one.... It blew me away with the topics discussed....in my opinion it was a page turner... I just had to know how everything was going to unfold.....I loved that it showed how not everything is what it seems.... That everyone has secrets and how anyone has the ability to put on a front..... The main character that the story revolves around portrayed her life to be perfect... When in actual fact it was anything but perfect..... I rated My Mother's Love by Rishika Chopra ⭐⭐⭐⭐✨....... I'm so glad that this was my first thriller read for this year ❤️❤️❤️❤️..... Thank you so much Rishika for giving me the opportunity to review your debt novel❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

My Mother's Love is the debut novel by Rishika Chopra. I have never expected that this one will leave such a strong impact on me. The story commence with the suicide of a talented artist Alicia Frankford. She express her past memories, pains, humiliation through the white canvas and paintbrush dipped in crimson red. In front of this world she's living a perfect life. She has everything one can ever ask for... happy family, fame, power, beauty. But the world don't know about her concealed secrets. Taking us through the flashback the picture of her true life revealed. With swiping pages you will witness the friendship of Alicia & Cliff which turned into love. But who's this Cliff? Why Alicia is avoiding him though she loves him so much. And why did Alicia quit her perfect life? Or it's a murder?
The plot amazed me a lot. It's unpredictable with so much of twists and turns. The characters are penned so strong. Each of them have their own dark secret. The love, bonding, friendship, trust between Alicia and Cliff is magical. This read is filled with murder, revenge, betrayal. Social issues about fragile masculinity, extramarital affair, adultery, rape, are portrayed well by the author. Overall the book is really a good read. But there was no need of those love making scenes. At a point it was impossible to hold my tears just at the thought of Alicia's pain, struggle she faced. 🎨🖌️ I'm quite happy I got this opportunity to review this book. Thanks @my_motherslove for the opportunity and the digital book.
