AJ Estelliam loves sunsets, sandy toes and hot baths. She relaxes by writing and being able to lose herself in a fantasy world where anything is possible. Her inspiration comes from gorgeous pictures, photos and places she visits. Alex Hope was inspired initially by a photograph...and then her story began. AJ is currently working on more Alex Hope novels. 'I love the relationship I have written between Alex and Jess. It's an all-consuming love and they're friends, lovers and soul mates. It's the kind of love everyone is looking for really-aside from the psychic ability and murders though!'
I didn't realise this was a part of a series of books, so I had accidently read it on kindle thinking it was a stand alone novel with no previous clue about the background.
But it still worked that way for me with the way the book is structured with the memory loss and mystery surrounding the situations therein. If anything my ignorance added to the intrigue.
So honestly you could absolutely read this book first then go back and read he rest of the Alex Hope series. Which is what I plan to do.
A very emotional story that had me reaching for the tissues multiple times. Some traumatic scenes depicted though, so I would advise a trigger warning for things inside like graphic murder, and rape. I myself wouldn't normally like to read about such things either, but the story woven was quite beautiful and haunting, and kept me reading and guessing.
The violence against women is just fucking outrageous... can't men just suffer as well? Why does it always have to be women? Though, I was happy to see Alex Hope again. I will say, if I had her powers, I would take those bastards down.
I didn’t realise this was the next book in the Alex Hope series. As I’ve said before these books need to be labelled clearly. A good editor would help. Having said that this was a good addition to the series & we now know what happened after the kidnapping. Warning for violence - including rape - on page.
