How much can possibly happen to one person before they break?
Quite a lot it would seem.
Ava Swan’s life had always been simple - until she fell in love. Big love. Epic love. Epic sex... Love; a common, yet utterly complicated emotion that brought her a happiness that she never thought possible - until it ripped her world apart.
Turning to the sanctuary of her parents at their home in the idyllic village of Clovelly; Ava starts to put the pieces of her life back together. Her life, and that of the baby that she keeps hidden from her past.
New love arrives and Ava believes that she has truly moved on. Only, the past always has a way of catching up with you.
When Mark returns to Ava’s life, so to do the feelings that she buried deep inside, and when the new love she found, and the new life she created, is revealed to have been built on lies; danger follows, along with a whole new level of pain and despair.
It’s enough to break you, but sometimes it can make you - and all of this, because of Hattie.
Roxanna C Revell is a British indie author of a mixed bag of books. She writes the stories that come to her: romance, dark romance, thriller, dystopian, crime families – you name it! Regardless of the genre or focus, you can guarantee twists, steam, and all the feels.
Originally from Nottingham, she enjoyed drinking way too much with colleagues in London before getting married, pregnant, and moving to the Bedfordshire countryside.
Whilst on maternity leave, she decided to answer that nagging question: does she have what it takes to write a book? The answer to that question is her debut, Because of Hattie.
Now well and truly committed to sharing the stories in her head with the world (‘world’ might be a bit ambitious), she writes when she’s not at work, chasing her two Wildlings, and not too wiped out to focus.
Her books contain bad language, kink, and triggers, and will always be 18+.
4.5 - absolutely loved it but beware, this is an emotional rollercoaster!
We’re following Ava Swan and her journey with falling in love and dealing with everything (and I mean everything!) that life can throw at her. This isn’t a simple love story, there’s a taboo romance and a lot of heartache throughout but it’s a book that will have you crying, laughing and wanting to throw it across the room all at the same time.
I loved Roxanna’s writing and her ability to catapult you into the story and make you feel what the characters are feeling. There’s one character in particular that I absolutely despise but that just shows how great her storytelling is. The character arcs in this book are fantastic and I really love how we see them progress and change for the better throughout the story.
Overall, a fantastic read that I would highly recommend. I can’t wait to see what her next novel will bring to the table!
TW:-Stalker,violence, betrayal. Can't go further without spoiling.
This is a very well written debut novel. To be honest,I realised it was her first book only when I read the author's note and mind you I was starved for more from her that I read all of that 8-10 pages of how the story came to be as well🥺🤧 Now,the author has very realistically portrayed how love finds you when you least expect to find it.That although we say that love is above all else,we do think of how it affects our relationship with others around us.Of how it's not just betrayal of friendship to be manipulated your whole life but not a friendship at all.The title actually intrigued me because it's a very different one and revolved around one person.I tell you,if you don't have a Hattie in your life or haven't known one ever, you're lucky. To say the least,Ava and I have had Hatties in our lives and having put them in the past is a blessing. There ends my similarity with our protagonist Ava who falls for a person and starts a forbidden romance according to 'society'.But is it forbidden really? Do we have to complicate things? Can't we just look at the happiness a couple finds in each other? That's what the author has shown. But I'll tell you, she's been so realistic in her writing that I couldn't help but think it might have happened. Also, the fact that breasts are not sexual to a woman always was something I look for in books because it's quite weird reading them like that all the time in all the books,so it was really nice to see I agreed with the author on that and several other points as well.Instead of a typical fairytale romance, she's shown Ava's journey from someone whose loyalty was wrongly placed with people who didn't deserve and her own transformation and maturity as time passes.Without dragging the plot, the author has shown how possessive and psychotic people behave.(it's still a mystery to me because honestly? You get to choose to be with anyone you want and no one can decide that for you) Finally, after three buckets of tears on my part,we and Ava get closure which I feel was how real life works.Yes,it left me hanging and I wanted more...maybe an epilogue...after 20years or something? But as I've already appreciated her, she's written it realistically and not all roses and sunshine as if everyone accepts everyone even after all they've been through.
There were a few errors in the Kindle version of the book I read but I don't think that'll hinder anyone from enjoying this book, but as always,I like to mention every aspect I notice.I rate it 4 solely because of the errors in editing which were very few but given the awesomeness that the story is,I expect it to be absolutely errorfree too!Yes,high expectations by reading a wonderful story from you, dear author, you've got a new fan in me.
I would love to have a paperback of this with me because it's one of those books that you would definitely want to re-read...like say Frayed Silk by Ella Fields or Written in the scars by Adriana Locke for me...
If you've come this far into the review, thank you for reading my rant of a good debut novel which deserves all the love and reviews readers shower.
I just finished this book last night and I had mixed feelings. I definitely recommend this book to others. I don't know why I loved the acknowledgements so much. This is a debut novel of an Indie Author. She is writing with a pseudonym and I don't understand why. She is a great writer and I absolutely adore her.
This book is about an age gap love story. Our girl, Ava falls in love with her best friend's father, Mark. The begining of the book sets the story and it was a little slow and dragged out. I felt that much emphasis was not needed but that was just my opinion. I also was not happy that the book was named after the most hateful character in the whole book. But I think that is supposed to be more ironic than anything else. Though some chapters seemed to be too wordy and had unnecessary details. I loved the different points of views in some places.
Ava and Mark break up when Hattie finds out. She ends up pregnant in her parents care. She resurrects from her broken self and transforms slowly into a beautiful butterfly. Its lovely to read that. Just when you think this is a normal love story, the thrilling element sets in. There are chases and backstories which are shocking. Why does bad things keep happening to Ava sigh!
But eventually the story ends with a happy family. It was an overall a good read. Whatever flaws that were present was overcome by the good plot. So go buy this book and support this debut author.
This was a great debut by Roxanna. It has an amazing storyline and beautiful characters. It's mainly an age gap romance but penned beautifully and you can feel the chemistry between Mark and Ava. There was too much detail and I know some people love that but I personally think that this book could have been a bit shorter, better and more enjoyable if the repetition of events didn't take place xx. Also, there isn't much steam which I didn't expect.
It starts with Ava who is weighed down heavily due to the events that took place in her life. And finding out that she is having a baby on top of that shatters her. She moves to her parent's house to cope and hide for a bit. There she connects with Lucas who is not only supportive but beautiful and caring. Having not told anyone the secrets she is keeping, she fears all of her past will once again come barrelling in her life and destroy her once again and that's what happens. Now the question is what happened to Ava that was so drastic that she had to hide? Are those rumours true? Why does she hate Hattie? Whose child is it? And when past and present collide, what will happen to her relationship with Lucas?
My most fav character was Jonathan. Honestly, he is the dream dad that every girl wants; he supports Ava, has her back and is always just there!
If you like family drama mixed in with age gap romance, scheming friends and hurdles that life and people both throw at our main character Ava, you would love it! A lot of drama!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 I cannot rate this book enough! I absolutely loved everything about this book and will go as far as saying it’s one of the best iv read this year :)
The story was written from various POV which as a reader I love. It was so well written and I found myself, loving, hating and really feeling for different characters and situations! I love a book that grips you. I found myself to be so invested in not only the story but also the characters! There is so much that happens in this story and so many twists along the way, that keep you turning the pages and staying up reading till all hours ..... I could say so much about the book but I don’t want to give away any spoilers - all I can say that this is a MUST read!
The story jumps straight in and grips you from the beginning! I can still now sit and picture the characters, the settings, the situations unfolding! It’s a book that really sticks with you with characters that are realistic to our every day life!! .... love, sex, betrayal, mental health, desperation, jealousy, anger, upset, friendship, relationship, this book covers it all
Brilliant book - thank you @roxannacrevell for messaging me and introducing yourself - without your message I may not of come across this book and I’m so glad I did 💙💙
I was easily swept up in the story of Ava and her romance with Mark. It's a story that proves love knows no age and judgement comes in all forms. We all know a Hattie. Someone who is so wrapped up in pretending to be the happiest, most successful person in the world, they lose themselves in the competition of proving it day in and day out. The Hattie's of the world don't realize happiness isn't a competition, nor is it the mask you wear on your face. Happiness is a feeling you can only lose yourself in if you stop worrying about everyone else's life. My favorite part was when Ava realizes she never lost Hattie when Hattie turned on her. Hattie actually set her free! I know this feeling as I too have been set free from a Hattie. Good for you Ava, you love freely without concern of what others think. Great job Roxanna!
WOW, if I had to describe this book in only one word that would be it! Halfway through this book I was unable to put it down and ended up finishing the rest in a day! This book had me feeling so many emotions, at one point I even had the tears flowing due to the pain Ava had been put through. The way it was explained and written only made it more emotional. There are a few steamy scenes in this book, that certainly had you blushing but they were well written and not so much as to make it uncomfortable. The storyline of this book kept you wanting to read on as it was gripping and kept your attention. The ending of the book really tied everything up and left such a positive message! This book has secured its place in my top 10 and I would highly recommend this book to anybody!
If you like an age-gap romance (that's not just "who's your Daddy?") and a second chance romance, packed with characters that you'll love and hate (you're meant to hate some) then you'll love Because of Hattie! You'll will end up wishing Jonathan Swan is your dad!
It's not a simple romance, even though I may let you think that it is at the start! There are twists and turns that you won't see coming and it will keep you gripped.
It's a rollercoaster of emotions, so why not take the ride?!
This is a great debut novel with so depth but way to much detail that wasn’t needed. There was just so much wording that could’ve been removed cause it wasn’t necessary. If I wasn’t so intrigued by the story I would of skimmed a vast majority of the book till I got to the good stuff but I didn’t want to accidentally miss anything. Ava and Hattie were best friends since they were kids until she asks Ava for a favor and it brings her in Marks orbit (Hattie’s dad) and it has them seeing each other in a different light but when Hattie finds out she wants to take everything away from Ava.
Wow this story has had me smiling and in tears from the very beginning. The writing absorbs you right into Ava's complicated life and takes you along for the ride. Twists and turns throughout the story kept me hooked and I read it in a day. With out a doubt you should read this story of love, friendship, betrayal and life challenges.
Wow what a great book. I couldn’t put it down. Really enjoyed the story and was gripped from the start. The characters in the book are great and most of us will know someone like Hattie.📚
Having loved Revell’s book The Beneath, I was curious to read her debut Because of Hattie as I’d heard it was very different from he subsequent books.
That it was. But it was still uniquely brilliant. A lot of books still seem to cling onto the idea of Prince Charming coming along to sweep us girls off our feet. But love isn’t like that. It’s complicated, messy and rarely conventional!
In Because of Hattie we have one such unconventional relationship. Ava falls in love and in doing so loses her friends and her job, forcing her to move out of London and back home with her parents, who are the only ones who stick by her.
What follows is a rollercoaster of a ride. Ava tries to adapt to being in a small town and move on with her life. She even manages to find someone new, although she’s not in love with them in the same way as before.
Revell manages to weave a mystery around the story, choosing to reveal the plot gradually and in a unique order so we’re never sure what to expect. There’s anger, betrayal and manipulation, not to mention psychological trauma. Yet amidst all of this dark subject matter, there is love. True love. But it’s tackled so well that it isn’t contrived, or shocking. It’s real. The sex is powerful, but beautiful.
At times I was an emotional wreck, as it tugged on my heartstrings when I least expected it. Without realising I had become totally invested in the characters.
At first Ava seems weak, but she is actually strong, feisty and loyal. She’s the kind of person everyone would be lucky to have as a friend. It was also a nice change to have a main character who loved and respected both of her parents. Her father Jonathan is the dream dad - protective, charming and devoted to his family. Even Hattie was appealing in her own way; we all have a bit of her inside us, which makes her relatable, yet pitiable.
The ending was the perfect balance between drama and suspense, with a good mix of hope and tragedy thrown in for good measure.
It’s been a while since I stayed up late to finish a book but it was definitely worth it as I’m still thinking about it now!
Ava Swan falls in passionate and unexpected love and the effects of this leaves the character in a very difficult situation. The turmoil of the relationship causes Ava to go to her parents’ home and find the strength she needs to pick herself back up. After such life changing events, Ava is encouraged to move on and open her heart again, where a new love is welcomed. However, the past finds its way to creep back into Ava’s life and ruin what she has built for herself.
This story is packed full of unpredictability that makes writing the synopsis an impossible task without revealing spoilers. Immediately, Revell captivates the reader by getting straight to the point and starts the emotional rollercoaster that will loop round and round until the story concludes. I loved reading this story as elements of Revell’s talent are highlighted as strongly as they are found in The Beneath, which I had read first. I had to remember that this was Revell’s debut and I was so engrossed in this plot. This author has a remarkable ability to hook the reader from start to end and I felt so lucky to read more of her work. It has only fuelled my excitement to read all future works and Roxanna C Revell must be added to all lists of auto buy authors!
Unsurprisingly, Revell conveys an absolutely gripping romance that is unlike any other. The creativity that Revell possesses is so inspiring and has allowed for more spectacular characters to come to life. Ava was presented in a way that readers can’t help but become invested in her complicated life. The emotions are honestly presented, conveying a reliable and authentic narration. Life is so complicated and by not conforming to the typical romance trope allows for a fascinating and powerful plot. The complimentary characters to Ava are explored in perfect amounts, allowing equal attention to the narrative with alternating perspectives. This especially aided the plot, where if you’ve read Because of Hattie will agree how brilliant this concludes and leaves an impressionable feeling.
Hattie and Ava’s friendship is one that is probably relatable to a lot of readers. The toxicity ruins Ava’s life and asserts the readers bias to Ava. Everyone has their flaws and kindness appears to be Ava’s as she actively removes herself from the problematic situation. As life goes on for Ava she develops to be such a strong character. The pace of the novel was impeccably presented and reveals the right amount of detail at the right moments, and doesn’t overly complicate the plot. Ava and Mark stole my heart and Revell knows how to write a passionate couple – and intimate scenes! The themes featured in this story are sensitively explored and highlights the talent Revell has to convey such matters in a realistic and outstanding way.
Overall, Revell’s debut is absolutely stunning and one that I will strongly recommend. This book truly does have it all.
Firstly, congratulations to Revell on an astounding debut novel. You should stop using a pseudonym; instead revel in your accomplishment (see what I did there).
From start to finish,I was hooked and drawn into the storyline.I was hungry to read on and when I couldn’t (because life gets in the way),I became frustrated.
The story follows Ava, who falls in love - the type of love that rocks your world, but with it comes life altering consequences. There was a point in the story, where I had to put it down because I was cringing in an ‘oh my gosh’ kind of way with a dash of ‘oh - the s**t is going to hit the fan’. It took me a moment to re-compose myself before I could read on.
Due to the decisions Ava made and the actions of others, she finds herself sucker punched by the one person she loved and trusted the most and her life is adversely affected and changed forever. All she could do to survive was to pick herself up and move back home to her parents - the only ones that loved her unconditionally and would do anything for her.
After such upset, it was great to see people looking out for Ava, but in particular, I loved her dad. He’s the kind of no nonsense messing dad that anyone would want fighting their corner. Determined to move on with life, she decides to trust again and she meets a potential, new love interest. He appears to idolise her and her child, but when her past catches up with them and collides with her present, all hell breaks loose.
If you’re expecting a stereotypical romance novel, you’re going to be sadly mistaken. This story deals with some sensitive issues and has a dark, sinister edge to it too. There are some steamy moments in the book; not the type that are distasteful, but more the type to get you a bit hot under the collar. The plot is an emotional rollercoaster and one that you need to experience. It’ll leave you holding your breath, gasping out loud (in shock) and reading faster (wanting to know more).
I couldn’t help but give Ava an imaginary high five at the end (If you know, you know) and I’d love to find out what happens next.
It’s hard to describe this book, without giving anything away. You need to read it.
GREAT DEBUT!!! A story with great characters and that keeps you hooked from the beginning. Ava and Hattie have been best friends since they were 5 years old, but everything changes one day when Hattie asks Ava for a favor: to cook a dinner for her father and his girlfriend. Ava agrees, but when she arrives at the house of Hattie’s father, Mark, whom she has not seen for 10 years, she is surprised when she feels attracted to him. Finally Mark’s girlfriend can’t make it and Ava and Mark ends up having dinner together and connecting. They begin a secret relationship for months until they are discovered. Hattie and her brothers don’t accept the relationship and they ask their father to choose between them or Ava. Ava makes the decision for him and she decides to break up with him, breaking her own heart in the process, but she doesn’t want to make her best friend suffer more, not knowing that Hattie is about to destroy her life completely. Ava ends up leaving the city and returns to live with her parents, who are her best support in these difficult times (I ❤️Ava’s father, big fan of this man). Time passes and Ava starts a relationship with Lucas, who seems to be the perfect man in every way( too perfect in fact), but she doesn’t love him as much as Mark. But eventually Mark ends up returning to her life bringing with him a series of troubles that will make Ava’s life go trough a lot of situations that she couldn’t imagine. But also brings her a lot of love. It’s a great book, this author is a great discovery and I certainly hope to read more of her in the future.
A lovely debut novel from author Roxanna C Revell. Because of Hattie is a highly emotional story. I love a well-written age-gap romance and this one is beautifully presented, the writing style is easy to follow, engaging and heart-gripping.
Ava and Hattie have been best friends all their lives, they were always inseparable. But everything changes between them the moment Ava and Mark's (Hattie's father) relationship comes to light. Hattie can not accept it and does everything to destroy Ava's life.
I loved the build-up tension between Ava and Mark. Their chemistry was off the charts and things between them developed naturally. He was drawn to her like a moth to the flame, the passion brewing between them becoming all-consuming. And Ava was his perfect partner, even with the age difference, the two off them together made sense. Also, the supporting characters were well presented and charismatic. I just loved the dynamic between Ava and her parents, especially her dad, who was an absolute gem.
The action was fairly paced, with enough drama, suspense, and sexy moments to keep me engaged in the story. Overall it was a delightful and well-written book. I enjoyed it and I would recommend it to those who love romances with an added twist. I'm looking forward to reading more from the author.
*Many thanks to Roxanna C Revell for gifting me an e-copy in exchange fr my hones review.
This novel may be fiction, but it reads like a captivating memoir that is jammed packed with emotions. I know you’re thinking, who is Haddie? Simply put, she is a toxic best friend in sheep’s clothing. She is the kind of person that sneakily sucks the joy out of her friends lives. Ava is kind but too loyal in the beginning. She is sent running from the love of her life because Haddie and her accomplices manage to take everything from her. She has her baby Jacob in secret, and builds a relationship with someone else. I won’t tell you the outcome, but I’ll just say that the author has a talent for character development. Ava starts of as a kind person with little backbone and turns into a strong woman who knows how to take care of herself. Though, most of the story is told from Ava’s point of view, the author does include the point of view of a few of the supporting characters. I promise, there is steam, passion, heart break, loss, friendship, supportive family, and so much more in this novel. If you enjoy a romance that is filled with drama, love, and the highs and lows of a mother trying to put her heart back together, this is the book for you!
I would start by appreciating the author for writing such a wonderful book. You touched my heart and warmed and filled it with your beautiful story. I do not have words to describe my happiness. I loved the story. I loved the characters. This story will make you cry, will make you hate, but will also make you see love in it’s truest and the purest form. I think, when you start relating to the characters and start imagining that you are right in the story, that’s when you know and realise the beauty of the book you are reading. And it was! I was completely engrossed in this book. There was not a single time, I thought I needed time to sit back and think what I wanted to do next because all I wanted to just lie down on my bed, hold my Kindle and read and read and just read!
What a brilliant debut novel! Must read. If you have read Cecelia Ahern, Debbie Macomber and Katie Fforde’s books, you must read this one. ♥️
Wow! I cannot believe this is a debut novel, you'd never know because it will blow you away. This book was absolutely amazing and I can easily say one of my favourites of all time! It was a gripping and emotional rollercoaster ride that I did not want to get off. I adored Ava and Mark and their relationship was just stunning. I loved how this book was written, showing mainly Ava's point of view, but allowing for moments of other character's views as well. It was so well done and done at the best times, giving us the insights we needed. I can easily say I loved everything about this story and wish it never had to end! I wanted more of Ava and Mark the second it was over. All the characters were hashed out and written so well. This book also brought in a bit of suspense, keeping you glued to the pages. I cannot say enough good things about this book. Roxanna has blown it out of water and I cannot wait to see what else she gives us!
I want to start off by saying how utterly brilliant the writing in this book is. It took me through so many emotions and the issue that the book covered was brilliantly done. This is the first book that I have read by Roxanna and I am thoroughly impressed. She is one talented author.
I absolutely fell in love with the characters, their relationships and I loved every minute of following them in their journeys. I got thoroughly addicted to the characters and the storyline - I did not want to put it down! Thanks to COVID had to have a day off work and I spent the whole day binge reading this book and I was not disappointed. In fact, I was more disappointed that the book had to end.
I read this as a buddy read and we were both equally addicted, we both spent the day binge reading! Roxanna is an incredible author and I can’t wait to read more from her. She is definitely one to watch!!! Do not miss out on this book, you won’t regret it!
Fantastic debut novel! I love age gap romances so this story was right up my alley. Ava and Mark are compelling characters that I was rooting for from the time I knew their backstory. I will say that I found the first third of the book to be rather wordy. It takes about that long to get to the backstory I mentioned. I promise that once you get there however, their journey to their HEA is an epic roller coaster that will have you flipping pages to see what happens next.
I personally felt the book could have been about half as long and still conveyed everything that needed to be. So people like the extra details (I definitely do at times) but there were a few spots where information covered in the beginning was repeated later in the narrative. This can easily be chalked up to being a new writer and in no way kept me from enjoying the book. I give this a solid 4.5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This is one hell of a debut novel. I often find age-gap hard to read because they come across as lust fuelled and unsustainable. Not this one! The characters are superb and really lock you in. Whilst there is lust and hot sex a plenty there is so much depth. I could totally imagine knowing someone like Ava and more so someone like Hattie.
I LOVED the story! It was the kinda thing you can actually imagine happening (and the scandal it would cause). The authors candid and honest description of life with a baby and the way it changes everything is refreshing and just adds to that realistic feel. I could imagine myself in Ava's shoes and walk her relationships alongside her. I'm so glad she got the closure she deserved in the end. Add in some twists and turns plus a bit of mystery and danger and there isn't much this book doesn't have!
I am an indie author myself, and have recently taken an interest in the work of other indies for my own learning and enjoyment. I came across this author a bit by chance on Instagram, and I am so glad that I did … this author has real talent. My measure of a good book is whether it delivers what you hope for, which normally boils down to whether you enjoy reading it. Because of Hattie delivers in bundles. I enjoyed it, I felt the emotion of it, I identified with the people and the places in it … and I felt slightly embarrassed that I was enjoying all the steamy bits. The book was easy to settle into, and when I had done so, it was one of those rare books that I couldn’t put down. It was probably the most captivating book I have read this year.
Because of Hattie This is a debut book for Roxanne and I really enjoyed it. The story is based around two best friends Have and Hattie Have falls in love with her best friends Hattie’s father I'm not usually one for age gaps but this was written really well and you could see that these two were meant to be❤️ I did find it slow to start but once you get the back story the rest of the story flows. Being from the UK I love reading story based here I think it's because I know the places it makes it feel more real 🥰 I loved the chemistry between Ava and Mark and I adored Ava’s Dad he is a true legend the story was an emotional rollercoaster with enough grit, heartbreak and steamy senses to keep me turning the pages Fabulous Debut
***Copy was given in exchange for an honest review***
Ava, our main girl, falls for Mark her best friend Hattie's father and begins an epic love affair. They know it's forbidden and only a matter of time before they are found out and separated, but what Ava never imagined was how viscous Hattie would become. She never could have thought that her once best friend would try to destroy her whole life. Outcasted with a huge secret Ava turns to her parents for comfort and support but that is only the beginning of Ava's story. So many feels with this book! Falling in and out of love. Lucas, Mark, Lucas, Mark. Anger. again Lucas, Mark and Hattie but also Mary. The supporting characters were amazing and the flow of Ava's journey was just so mesmerizing. I couldn't put this book down.
Most of the new authors now a days writes the same story in a different cover or names. And I don't like wasting my time in some girl hating some billionaire and suddenly she is in his bed. Like seriously????...GOD But this was something else...💜💜💜 Painful pasts, age gap romance, secrets and lies, betrayal, off the charts sex, even a pregnancy. If that isn’t enough for you to dive in then do it because this book is so well written that you just can’t stop reading it . Sometimes you just need a story like this to bring out all the feels. Some thing that feels realistic like this one💜💜💜 I will definitely be reading anything this author writes in the future.. congratulations you have got yourself a fan!!
Wow just wow!! What a debut book by author Roxanna Revell!!! First let me say this book has everything. Painful pasts, age gap romance, secrets and lies, betrayal, off the charts sex, even a pregnancy. If that isn’t enough for you to dive in then do it because this book is so well written that you just can’t stop reading it. This book broke my heart and then broke it again . Sometimes you just need a story like this to bring out all the feels. I will definitely be reading anything this author writes in the future.. congratulations you have got yourself a fan!!
I truly loved reading this book by the new writer @roxannacrevell.
Because of Hattie is poignant love story that will leave you feeling all sorts of emotions from hope, love, indignation and anger.
It is beautifully written, the characters are well thought and the story line will keep you turning the pages.
I also really enjoyed reading an age-gap romance and found it truly refreshing, after all love knows no barriers and when it is right and people are soulmates age is really just a number.
I was so surprised by this book. I’m going to be honest it took me a couple chapters to get into, but once I got to the present day I was so invested and devoured the rest of the story so quickly to get to the HEA. The chemistry between Mark and Ava is so beautifully written, one can only dream of having that. I’m not usually a fan either of age gap stories, but seem to be reading more and more of them, there’s something about a more mature man. And the hero in this story is definitely swoon worthy by the end!
