Paul, an investigating reporter from Los Angeles, is following a lead that might be the biggest story of his career. With only a sketchy outline of lies, bribes, and underhanded business dealings to go on, Paul traces the story to Las Vegas, where he hopes to uncover the name and faces of the crooked businessmen. But Paul sees more under the garish lights and flashy mirrors of Las Vegas than he bargained for.
A novel, with a definite Mormon theme. It is also a detective/mystery of sorts, and a love story. The author pulls off a good story with: good overcoming evil, love wins out, being righteous has its rewards. Searle has the ability to jerk at the heart strings in his books; while his books are not great literature they are a good reading experience.
Contains fraud, threats, deceit, and true love. This story reminded me that hate begats more hatred, and that forgiveness makes us better and stronger.
