I'm Alley. I'm an Indie author and I write Contemporary/New Adult, Rom-Com, Sports Romances with fierce heroines and their swoony Alpha partners with heart. There's a heavy dose of witty banter and sarcasm in my characters.

I'm a stay at home mom to 3 amazing and crazy minis all under 4yo, a 95lb lab, and let's face it on some days my hubby is my 4th kids... But to be fair I totally love him a a lot. When I'm not corralling my crazy minis I can be found writing the stories the voices in my head tell me at naptime and when the rest of my house goes to sleep at night.

I'm a complete romance junkie. Pizza and mac and cheese are major food groups to me.

I am obsessed with this book. I could NOT PUT IT DOWN!! I’m serious, once I finished I read it again, and again, and again, annndddddd again.

Little bit mystery, little bit suspense, whole lot of sexual tension that turns into oh so deliciousness, and heck of a lot of Disney references. Basically this book is gold. No platinum, wait, whatever is the best most expensive thing out there. This is to infinity and beyond.

Maddey is everything. She is completely and totally kick A. She is strong, loyal, hilarious, tender, sensitive, and a martyr. Like I want her to be real so I can be her bestie.

Her hero. Dannnngg. Swoon worthy. The perfect fit to Maddey. He is strong, but supports her. He doesn’t stifle her Maddeyness. Completely Alpha, but he just gets her. Like melt me in a puddle with his words because he knows what turns her buttons gets her.

I honestly can’t choose which man in the BTU is the best because they fit so well for their heroine. Like I want to RH them all, but let’s be honest. If I considered the Men to real, that means their Ladies are also real and I happen to love my life. I have no desire to go up against the Coven.

To say I have been anxiously awaiting this book would be a massive understatement. I am so addicted to the BTU Alumni and Maddey is one of my hands down favourites. It really feels like we have been waiting for the next book in this series forever and then when it was Maddey’s that just ramped up the anticipation but then Alley had to taunt us with all those teasers about who our hero was going to be. I swear I had such massive butterflies just trying to figure out who it was. There was only one acceptable man in my mind but there were so many options.

Obviously Maddey is our Queen of Smut, Disney Princess who’s a total bad@$$ and doesn’t need anyone to save her. But with all the stalker gifts and all the testosterone flying around her there were so many people just waiting in the wings to come slay her dragons. And Alley just kept taunting us about who it could be and making me obsess over it like a teenage girl.

That said I can forgive her for the torture, since I got the hero I was hoping for. Along with a boatload of Disney references that made my day. Add in a heap of the coven and all the boys and various other friends and family members and I was in the happiest place on Earth reading this. It was awesome and I seriously couldn’t put it down. I am dying for everyone else to read it so we can squee over the possessive neck holding kisses and the growling "mines" and just all the perfection that was our hero.

But really Alley, 2021 for the next one? That’s just mean. Luckily my anticipation levels are high for the U of J novels coming soon but I am feeling a series reread because this book was just everything.

Was EVERYTHING!
Don't get me wrong all the BTU books are amazing but this one takes the cake it is more and beyond.
Everything about the hero screams alpha( and no I am not spilling the beans on WHO he is)
He is charming, sweet, hot AF and so damn delcious I am pretty sure I had a perminant blush on my cheeks.
This story had me laughing and giggling at the gangs antics and of course the covens lack of staying on topic.
The gang made for another laugh out loud read and had me holding back cackles of laughter.
The constant disney references had my heart giddy and my disney loving heart exploding.

The chemistry between Maddey and her hero was off the charts HAWT. I mean I needed new panties it was that hot.
The way he was posssive yet gentle, cocky yet sweet and all round had hearts in your eyes with the way that mouth let out the most sexiest of things that had me fan myself a few times.

Alley brings the heat in this quirky but sexy romance where a girl talks to her dog likes its a human, the characters in her head make you giggle and the man she loves is so damn sexy it should be illegal.

The twist has you gasping because every good romance has a great twist and of course a brooding hero who makes you fall in love.

Just like Disney this has a fairytale ending worthy of an oscar.

My heart exploded reading this magical fairytale of a princess and her prince charming.
I can't wait for another BTU master piece.

Book 5 in the BTU Alumni series and I loved it. Great addition to the series. Loved that Maddey was able to get her story and it was one for the ages. This story will grab you from page one and won’t let you go. You will be sitting on the edge of your seats with all the twists and turns this story will take you on and let me say it was worth it. Slow burn romance but once the fire takes, it will be explosive. Loved it and will be re-reading this and the other books in this series very soon. Highly recommend.

I think this is my favorite book in the series!! I seriously love Maddey/Madz/Tink. I’ve always wondered about the conversations between characters in a writers head and you get a glimpse of that in this book....the characters in Maddey’s head crack me up! Her hero, who shall not be named, is my new book boyfriend.....holy smokes he is every girls dream!! Seriously a fantastic book!

Alley Ciz has had us on the edge of our seat ever since the end of Sweet Victory as to who snagged our resident author's heart. Well the wait is over... well once you read it, of course. You won't find me spilling the beans in this review. #sorrynotsorry

Writing Dirty, while it brings all of our favorite characters back together, is different than any of the other BTU stories. Writing Dirty is as steamy as the books Maddey writes as Belle Willis and the hero is hot AF. Be prepared to laugh at the witty banter and hold your breath at moments that have you going *holy crap*. Be prepared for Maddey's man to sweep you off your feet because he will.

Maddey is my favorite female BTU character, and this book proved that point. Not to mention, Maddey has great taste in audiobooks ;)

Writing Dirty is the 5th book in the BTU Alumni Series and follows Maddey's story. The resident romance author finally gets her Hero & HEA. This story is a fun rom com with some added feels, light & flirty moments as well as suspense & intrigue. It includes one of my FAV tropes/plotlines which is 'Close Proximity' as after Maddey's situation with her Stalker starts getting out of hand in comes a 'Hero' to help save her but like the blurb says Maddey is no damsel in distress.

Maddey is a funny, witty, disney loving, strong, stubborn but incredible heroine who is determined to not let her Stalker affect the way she lives her life but slowly as things start to escalate we watch her realise how bad this situation can actually get and affect the people she loves the most.

My heart broke for her a few times but I also loved how her story played out. Getting in the mind of Maddey was an interesting one as she is an author she had quite the assortment of characters constantly speaking in her ear, which is something I've always heard authors talk about but I've never truly known what that would feel like and Alley did a great job letting us see how crazy their minds can get.

Maddey's Hero was protective, selfless, sweet, kind and cared so deeply while still being the Alpha he is. I loved him for Maddey. They were the perfect match and I was hoping that he would be the one to star in her story from the moment I heard about him.

This story kept me guessing what would happen next and even though I did guess some of it a lot surprised me and I loved how it all played out & I loved seeing all the previous characters as their appearances always make these books so special.

Though this is an interconnected standalone, to truly get the best experience I highly suggest reading all the books in this series in order.

Writing Dirty has just become my favorite in the BTU Alumni series to date! It has a lot of my favorites:
sassy heroine; alpha hero; angst; hot, steamy scenes (of course); and swoon-worthy moments.
On top of that, Alley Ciz added suspense into the mix that I haven't seen since Power Play.

Maddey is sassy and a fun character to read. She's a romance writer so she's constantly finding material from others and she lives inside her head more times than not.

Sorry Vince, but this is my favorite hero in the BTU Alumni series now. He is ALL Alpha and the perfect match for Maddey! I am glad Alley chose him. (Thank you Alley!)

Anyone else want to buy a hot tub? This scene was incredibly sexy! Well, every steamy scene they had was incredibly sexy but this scene - WOW!

The story behind the tattoos had my heart feeling all gooey. I would love to talk about it but to do so would spoil the story.

This had a slightly different feel/tempo than the previous books in the series, yet it worked really well for this story. It still has the squirrelly humor we are used to but in a slightly different way.

I may be in the 1% group but I appreciated the closure Alley gave us. I think as BTU fans, we needed it.

This book can be read as a standalone but it is better to read them in order to better understand the personalities of all the characters and I HIGHLY suggest reading Power Play.

Don't read the spoilery reviews - they will ruin the story before you even read it. Read the previous books in the series for clues and let the hype build up. It's more fun that way and I think you will appreciate the story more.

Happily ever after

My frozen heart thaws when we get to jump on our magic carpets and go back to the world of BTU. Like the rest of the coven, Madz is strong willed, independent, strong, and may I say probably the most fierce character Alley has written. This story is going to tug your heartstrings, and I do mean TUG.
You will laugh, you will yell, you will laugh again, you will cuss out Alley, you will swoon, and you will fall in love.

This Book! OMG! Writing Dirty is book 5 in The BTU Alumni Series. It can absolutely be read as a stand alone but I recommend reading the first 4 books when you get a chance. Not necessarily prior to reading Writing Dirty, but at some point, just because they are fantastic too!


This book gives us Maddy’s story. Maddy, AKA Tink, is a super successful romance author. I adore her and all of her Disney obsessed inner monologues! She is the girl most of us wish we were ~ strong, independent, loyal, successful, beautiful and loved. Who ends up being the happily ever after for this crew’s very own Tinker Bell is part of the fun of this story and it’s so much fun! I smiled from the first page to the last line of the epilogue.


Alley Ciz can write a text message chain like no other! She writes women you wish you had in your corner and men you would definitely drool over. She writes friendships that we all wish we were a part of and for the few hours that you spend between these pages you can be a part of this insane group of people. Even the pets are make you smile & laugh.


Writing Dirty was romantic comedy gold, with a hint of suspense and the perfect amount of friendship! Oh... and let’s not forget the STEAMY SCENES!

OMG! I’m so happy Writing Dirty is finally here! Maddie is a romance writer and uses her crew for cover photos for all her books. She also uses them for inspiration in her writing. The mystery behind who the H is has been driving me crazy! Let me tell you, he is sexy as sin! And we have a stalker! Yes! Madz has a psycho stalker! He is just as much of a mystery as who Madz hump Buddy is! For all of you BTU crew junkies out there you will not be disappointed! Anyone who hasn’t started the BTU series read Power Play first and work your way through. If not you’ll be confused on who all the couples are in this large, amazing, hilarious, fun, sexy crew. This book was everything I hoped it would be! And don’t get me started on the many many Disney references that were hilarious. What romance lover doesn’t love Disney? That’s where our little girl hearts first fall in love with Happily Ever Afters! I highly recommend all of Alley’s books! They are fun and silly, hilarious and sexy and all the men and women are just all around a great group of people. Alley really outdid herself with this crew right here. Keep them coming sister!

She lets you dive into her mind and see what actually happens in an authors head and I am here for it!

Maddey has always intrigued me in the other books so I couldn’t wait to see what would happen in hers and who would finally tame Tink!

Maddey’s hero was so perfect for her! He knew when to push her and when to back off. He made her feel like she could burn the world down by herself but he would always be by her side if she needed help and I love that. Maddey is no damsel and her hero compliments her amazingly.

Get ready for all of the laughs, the shock twists and turns that you won’t see coming and hot scenes that will blow your mind.

Go and read this book! It can be read as a stand alone but I advise starting at Power Play and binge reading. You won’t be disappointed!

Writing Dirty is the 5th book in the BTU Alumni series by Alley Ciz. Alley Ciz is a fantastic author and the BTU Alumni series is fantastic but this book to it to a whole new level. This book is 100% Literary Gold! I do recommend that you read the other books but it can also be read as a standalone though you won't get as much out of the group chats.

This book is one I will read over and over again and never get tired of it.

Yay, the BTU crew are back in full glory!!!!

I was so so blessed in getting an early copy of this book, and have to admit it's Alley Ciz best to date, I can't wait to see what she does next, hint, hint. Lol.


I am so totally obsessed with this fantastic series, and with all the teasers and hints, it's kept me guessing..

The hero in this book is everything a man should be, and no I'm not telling you who it is, anticipation is key, lol. He's loyal, loving, affectionate but above all respectful of Maddey and her little ways and quirks. In fact he encourages her to be the best she can be. He's even joining in with the voices and conversing with Trident, Maddeys loyal fur baby.

The twist in the plot will have you gasping in surprise and horror, but it's so well written that it will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very end, where the biggest surprise happens. You have absolutely no clue.

This fabulous book has it all, men in uniform from policemen, trained SEALs, fit hockey players and even muscular MMA fighters. These strong men all love with conviction and devotion to the ladies in their lives. This book caters to every women's fantasies.

This is romance writing at its very best. Pure gold.

Can't recommend this fabulous book and fantastic series enough. Don't hesitate, get reading.

I. Am. Obsessed!! Like seriously, I can’t get enough of Alley Ciz and the men and women of BTU. I was Team Gage for the longest time, but then she had to go ‘Writing Dirty”. Alley, why do you make me choose?

Writing Dirty is about the coven’s favorite writer, Maddey. She is the strong, spunky, and sassy ‘Queen of Smut’. What she writes is in one word, H-O-T! She lives in her head, but she can come up with some seriously steamy stuff!

The hero. What can I say about him, that will not give it away? That is the best part of this book is not knowing who he could be. Pick any book before and you think you might have seen an ‘alpha’ male, well you are wrong. This guy will not only put the sizzle in your pants, but he will also make you wish you had a drool rag. Seriously, NEWEST book boyfriend!!

Writing Dirty is full of Alley’s usual wit, charm, and hilarity. The Coven antics and squirrely text topics, coincide perfectly with my own ‘squirrel brain’. There is mystery, men in uniform, witty sarcasm, twists and turn, and the boys. We cannot forget the XY chromosomes in this group. It’s like a big ‘ole family reunion when they are present.


There is no doubt that Alley Ciz outdid herself when writing, ‘Writing Dirty’. It is a little of everything that you could want or love in a Maddey romance book including a stalker to shake things up.

SERIOUSLY, SWOOOOOOON!!! I couldn’t help it! The heat in this book..the suspense and the strong female heroine along with backup from her notorious Coven are what makes this book! The fact that EVERYONE in her life is willing to face her demons for her just goes to show what kind of character Maddey is.

I’ll just start this out by saying the heroine in this story doesn’t need a Hero to save her, she can do it all on her own. BUT just because she CAN do it all on her own doesn’t mean she has to! The people that Maddey has on her side; the ones willing to go fight off her big bad stalker for her goes on and on. This girl wasn’t raised by any weak minded or bodied people though! She’s a McClain and McClain’s are tough and stubborn; Maddey is positive she’s got this handled....until she doesn’t.

The guy, that guy...THE GUY...that come to her rescue twists her world upside down and puts her flat on her butt wondering what happened and how she got there. He’s there to stay though and no matter how long it takes he’ll get what he wants. Alpha male for the win here!

I can’t and won’t say more, because spoilers suck! I want you to get the full effect of the surprises within these pages! I’ll say this, that plot twist...I was completely surprised! I definitely enjoyed this one from the BTU Alumni series!

Writing Dirty is an interconnected stand-alone story of the BTU Alumni series but you will get more enjoyment out of this book if you have read the previous ones in the series. This is a 5☆+ book couldn't put this down

Once upon a time in a far away land where there is a novelist (Maddey) who writes hot steamy romance novels which involes barrels of eye candy.

This book includes men in uniform - Policemen, Trained SEALS & Ice Hockey players & soooooooooo many characters in Maddey's head where they all feel like they are entitled to a point of view and you thought the Coven were bad when they lose track of topics in a message thread - well they have nothing on Tink or should we say Dory!

For the past 9 months everything isn't quite hot & steamy in the romance world because Maddey has had a stalker - help has been called in to catch this person but they are going to need a bucket full of pixie dust and a whole lot of Bibbidi bobbidi boo!! Who is going to be Maddey's hero and will she ever find her shelter in the storm before her stalker escalates and finds her?

Alley Ciz you played on all my emotions.
I had to pull myself together to write this review the way you left me.
Ok...now that Miss Alley is aware of how she owes me big time...let’s talk Writing Dirty.
This bad boy here was highly anticipated and it definitely lived up to its hype. She had me hooked (pun intended) on every word.

The queen of HEAs is finally playing the starring role in her own. But, this is one Princess who refuses to play damsel and I freaking loved her spirit!

The Disney references: epic.
The Coven is back to wreak havoc on your lungs and stomach muscles with its squirrel brain and laughs for days.

The hero...oh you didn’t thing I’d spoil it did you?
This man is the perfect balance of swoon and filthy just how I like it. Ruining panties and hearts all at once but in the best way. He and Maddey were absolutely perfect for each other.

Oh and be prepared to scoop your jaw off the floor too because Alley Ciz came loaded with a bomb or two.

OH. MY. GOD. Do NOT pick up this book if you don't have the time to finish in one sitting. It's THAT addictive. The BTU crew have been a favorite of mine since Jordan graced my Kindle screen. I have been waiting what feels like forever to find out the Hero of Maddey's story and let me tell you... Alley did not disappoint. I won't spoil the surprise because... well, what's the fun of that?

This story has everything you can imagine and lots of squirrel moments. I always knew that Maddey would be one of the more difficult ones to tie down and boy was I right. This book has all the moments where Maddey PROVES to us, she is not a damsel in distress and she can take care of herself. Alley writes some of the strongest and sexiest heroines I've ever read and Maddz was no different. She's just what I imagined when she was in the other books and I loved every second of her book. The twists and turns only made it that much sweeter in the end.

This is THE story I've been waiting for.
Don't get me wrong, I've read all the books and I've love every single one of them, each a little more that the previous one - still don't know how that's possible, by the way - but this baby right here? Oh my Disney.

I'm prone to lengthy reviews, even sans spoilers, but since there's several things that I shouldn't touch upon without revealing too much and ruin the experience for the readers to come, I'll leave you with the basics:
- prepare to read this in one sitting. Even if I myself wasn't able to do so, because adulting is an actual thing and most of the time it sucks, it is that addictive and you'll just feel the need to know what happens next, asap.

If you leave and breathe Disney, pick up this book right now; you will not regret it.
Currently I'm getting the urge to binge all the classics and them some.
You doesn't love a happily-ever-after and some/lots of well pulled references?

Also, smut. Ah, how I love the word.
Maddey is definitely the queen of it and I so do not envy an author's brain if our girl is any indication of what goes on inside of it. It's all fun and games until the voices start taking over.
Uh, who am I kidding? That's probably when the fun starts.

The Coven - we meet again.
These girls have me smiling like a crazy person while reading their exchanges and I actually feel like I'm watching a ping pong match with all the back and forth.
The shenanigans continue and there's a new group chat in town with equally hilarious banter going on, that is welcome to make more appearances in the future. *wink*wink*nudge*nudge.

The whole stalker business? Sheesh!
For obvious reasons, I can't expand on the topic but man, talk about this ever-present irky feeling over the evident stressful situation.
I couldn't decide between wanting to strangle to death or institutionalize for life the delusional culprit.

Maddey's love story is a fairytale through and through, even if the characters have a slight twist of modern and unconventional to them: there's the carrier of evil and misguided intentions, the princess that refuses to be the damsel in distress and the prince that will do whatever it takes to protect her still and ride with her into the sunset. Oh, and there's also a whole lot of growly sexy times.
Pfft..."sexy times". Talk about an understatement. *fans self*

I wish I could talk more about our hero so you'd get the greater picture but I can attest that it's better this way, going in blind and letting yourself be surprised.
I know I still was and I had my guesses.

I truly couldn't be happier with my girl's story and HEA and can't wait to see sneak peeks of these two throughout the series.

Let me start by saying:

THIS BOOK IS EVERYTHING I NEVER KNEW I WANTED BUT DESPERATELY NEED IT.

So yes!!! The gang is back and better than ever and now we are getting Maddie’s story with her delicious mystery guy that is her Yin to her Yang.

This story is addictive and I was Hook from the very first page. The sensual tension and the Oh So Sexy moments were 🔥🔥🔥. Once again Alley Ciz brought and amazing story with a smart sassy heroine, a hot AF hero that you will fall in love with and all the incredible and hilarious coven chat conversations that I wish I could be a part of .
I think this book is unique for the BTU world because of the mystery factor and the plot twist I did not see coming. YES ALLEY I WAS IN SHOCK!!!!
So in conclusion, if I could give this book more than 5 stars I would because it deserves so much more ( it’s perfection) and it’s definitely a must read .

Alley, Alley, Alley.

Man, I love a good rom-com. Add in Maddey and her sexy AF hero (which I’m sworn to secrecy but trust me when I say he is swoony and I would climb him like a tree) this makes for one of the best reads I’ve read so far in 2020, if not THE BEST read I’ve read so far. I also love a good romance suspense story too, so it’s two of my faves-comedy plus drama.

Maddey is so relatable as well as the other BTU crew. As a fellow writer myself, her head is 100% correct in how my mind works. Her hero compliments her in every way. He’s the perfect book boyfriend. Seriously, once this bad boy releases, you want to get your hands on this because, well you just have too.

I laughed, I sent shouty caps AND gifs to Alley like “how dare you!” And “OMG!” The humor had me wiping away tears of laughter, the steamy scenes had me all hot and bothered, and the suspense had me gripping the edge of my seat. Thank you Alley for flawless combining humor with suspense. But I’m ready for someone else’s book now. Alley-you know who I’m waiting for. My suggestion still stands 😂

Hilarious banter, sexy times, and a mystery along the way!
Everyone who has been following along and reading the BTU Series has two questions 1) WHO is the hero?!? and 2) WHO is the stalker?!?
Well I’m not answering those BUT I am still going to tell you what I can about how amazing this story is.
Maddey is a romance author who knows all about love. She sees it in those around her and she writes all about it in her books. She’s in love with love. What she thinks she doesn’t know is how to be ‘in love’ herself.
Our hero is amazing. He loves Maddey for who she is (the characters in her head and all). He knows that she is fiercely independent and can take care of herself - and he lets her with his support. And he’s just the swooniest!! (Not a word, I know)
Their relationship was just the sweetest to watch.
I loved that we get to see so much of the covenettes and the boys throughout this book. And just like all the other BTU books, it left me with a smile on my face!! Can’t wait until the next one!!

This book was highly anticipated and it was definitely worth the wait. Maddey is the queen of writting happily ever afters and now it's her turn. Maddey is a princess but she refuses to play the damsel in distress in her own life. The number of Disney references in this book are off the charts and the gifs are amazing. The members of the Coven are back in full force with there off the topic conversations that will have you laughing out loud as you read this book. The hero in this book is something that I can't share with you! This man is perfect for Maddey and the attraction/chemistry between these two if hot the charts hot and intense. This book is loaded with a bomb or two that will leave you shocked and guessing as to what will come next.

Alley Ciz never fails to amaze me with her BTU series. Every book is topped by the next and she totally outdoes herself! Maddy’s love story will have you laughing, swooning, fanning yourself and on the edge of your seat. The returning cast is always one of my favorite things about each book. The banter is a staple for their series and isn’t lacking in Maddy’s story. Maddy couldn’t have written herself a better love story than her own. This is a must read and I guarantee you’ll love her hero! This is a must read!!!
