About the author

Ed Young is the founding pastor of Fellowship Church and a New York Times bestselling author. Ed and his wife Lisa have been married for over 40 years and have four children, one who is in Heaven. Fear has been the driving theme in 2020. There may be 645 known fears or phobias, but there is one book you need to read this year. The Fear Virus addresses a common emotion in an uncommon way. While I am facing unemployment and preparing to adopt older youth during a pandemic, and while our country is dealing with economic uncertainty and social strife, I am learning to fear God.

As Ed Young always does in his books, he directs the reader to focus on their relationships with God Almighty and with people. Through the Fear Virus, I am learning that as I walk with God through my fears, He will work through me to connect people with Jesus.

It is an easy to read book with lots of deep, biblical knowledge. Don't be afraid to read it this week!

Wow, where do I begin? I was grateful to get an advance copy. An excellent tool for anyone looking for deep, rich, and tangible truths for addressing and handling your fear on a daily basis. I love how the stories from the author's life and from Biblical characters are thought-provoking and easy to apply to ones life. If you are looking for a timely answer to what is plaguing our world then you need to look no further. It was eye-opening that after a few chapters I realized that there were areas of fear that I needed to address and the book has been very helpful in directing my steps in partnering with God to address them. I hope it helps others as much as it has me.

I was stoked to get an advanced copy of this book. Once I opened it and began reading, I couldn't put it down! I love listening to Pastor Ed speak, he's a brilliant communicator, great story teller, and his illustrations are powerful- that was all on FULL display with this book. He has truly mastered making the complex simple, especially something like fear! This book was a WAKE UP CALL. It made me rethink the way I relate to the people around me, it changed the way I pray, and helped me process what is going on in our world today. This book is so perfectly relevant for TODAY! Fear controls us, but the great news is, if we rely on God's promises and stay in truth, we can view the fear through the acronym of Facing Everything with Assurance and Reverance. Ed Young is so amazing at how he takes such a serious subject and makes it so easy to understand. This by far is the best book I have ever read and had helped to change my perspective on my own life.

I’m half way through with the book. It’s easy to read, and so practical . Taught me that humans have had the same fears throughout time. The Bible uses stories of people who had fears just like us, and God helped them through it. Often times, getting through the fear helps us grow and reach our potential. This book helped me see the way that I think, or speak to myself, and how I can change that dialogue for the positive. I recommend it!

Every time I felt swallowed up by the world’s current state, this book has pointed me back to my Creator... All I have to do is look up from the headlines to see He is all around, every second of every day He can be seen. If you want to strengthen your awareness of how influential fears can be in your life, and what the Bible says about fears and how to overcome them, Pastor Ed Young holds no punches in this one! What really stuck out to me was how deeply Ed Young dives into the Biblical references to fear and it’s remedies, while keeping things easy to follow and memorable. Not that impressed. Not very deep. What you’d expect from any generic church. It read like a very long sermon (complete with plenty of Bible verses) on why faith in God will fix your fear. As someone who has battled anxiety most of my life (and heard sermons and read Christian books on fear) this was not helpful.
