THE END

I am so not ready I say good bye to Nix and her mates!! But here we are...... The final book the war is upon us!

Quinn and Harper of course wrote the ending so perfectly I can’t even be mad! This series has had me hooked since book 1 and it was an amazing journey! Seeing the growth and the trials Nix had to go through to get to this ending gahhh I loved every second! I cried like a baby through some parts of this. They took us on quite the emotional roller coaster. We get all the answers to all of our questions, we also get some big bomb drops!

This ending about killed my heart! But it built it back up at the very very end! Thank you for such an amazing series

While we do get an epic showdown, I really felt like so much of this book was loaded with sex. Honestly I wanted them to get on with it so the fighting could begin. After so long the end was finally in sight and that’s all I cared about. But by the end Nyx and her men are united and a real family. There’s a bunch of close calls here, some deaths and rebirths-which thankfully are a thing and finally the start of a shifter world where there is no division. The perfect world will take time to build as everyone still has so much animosity or maybe distrust towards one another. Do wish we got to see this later in the epilogue and maybe even Nyx and her guys happy years down the road. I think this is because little miss Molly may be getting her own book or series, so we’ll see everyone again 🤞🏽

Best RH you will ever read

This was one of the first RH books I got into and let me say I was not disappointed. Nix and her story is heartbreaking from the very beginning she has had the worst life a young girl could ask for ! Then to turn it all upside down when she finds out she is a rare shifter with a lot of mates and the journey they all travel on together. This is by far one of the most brilliant written books i've had the pleasure to read, where the story flows on each page and every character has so much detail. It is a thrilling ride and I am broken to think its over but its also left a smile on my face. So if you see these books on kindle or in a shop etc.. do not turn away !! Give it a go and be ready for a gripping thrilling ride.

Not as good as I had hoped - read on KU

It had been a while since I had read the first five books and then I read these last tow at the same time. They really should have been combined and reduced. A lot of the training could have been cut out. This book did at least make the scene with Risa in the last book have more significance. But it really just felt like a giant epilogue.

As with the book before it, there were more than a couple of sex scenes, which is fine. There was one scene that lasted longer than anything I've read other than from straight up erotica. It was 7.5 pages on my 11" Samsung Tab 7, which would probably be at least three times that on the average Kindle and who knows how many pages on a phone. And I have the app set to the smallest font and the smallest margins. While I don't mind a long sex scene, I felt like this one was drawn out just to see how long she could make it. My problem with several of the sex scenes in the last two books was they had serial happenings instead of parallel. One at a time instead of more. Not that there wasn't all at once in one scene, too. But, too often it was not. That just isn't practical. Not many women would want to do 5 rounds instead of one or two. (Hiro and Ryder were always together.) The one scene that was all of them had a weird configuration, too.

The end battle scene didn't make much sense to me. There was a mystical line down the center of the island where they were battling that would turn any shifter's gifts back against them if they crossed it. That was true for both sides. So how did anyone battle if anyone crossing the line lost their offensive weapons?

This obviously set up Molly to have a spin off series with Tao and one other guy but it doesn't seem that interesting. I will not be waiting on that to come out. I thought these books became tedious to read and don't care for more of that. This one wasn't quite as tedious as others. As a while, I would have enjoyed simpler creatures with names I had heard of. A unicorn instead of ceraptor, for instance. And then we pick up Tao's shifter type in this book that is yet another obscure type. At least it is for Americans. It is a Chinese mythical creature.

You're probably only reading this book if you've read the first 6. You will probably be satisfied with how it ends. It could have been better, but it could have been worse, too. The killing of the old councilmen definitely could have been far more satisfying. If you are considering the series, you will probably like it if you like RHs and very detailed PNR characters that have a wide variety of unusual abilities. But be prepared for wordiness.

I've been reading a lot of reverse harem books these days but I couldn't get past the 2nd book for most of them. They can get boring. This one though managed to hook me up to the 7th book.

Having said that, it did get a bit drawn out. The characters are mostly just lost in their own heads with very little action going on. Most of the action in the books are just right until the last few chapters. I was expecting a major war by the end of this book and was a bit let down that the fight between Nix and Stepanov was a bit anticlimactic. The powers of the guys aren't fully explored. I would have wished to see more of Killian's psychic abilities and Ryder's black vines. I would have wanted to read more of Joshua's Basilisk nature as well as see Theo's command of ice and water improve. Heck, it was mentioned that some Phoenixes in the past have healing powers. It would have been nice for Nix to explore her healing potentials as well. Why mention it in the previous books, right?

I just felt like the authors focused too much on the smutty scenes. I would have wanted less of that and more of the power development. Those scenes got too cheesy in some parts as well.

They didn't even say how Madonaldo died. I was initially thrilled to find a Manananggal included in this book but was saddened when the authors chose to make him Puerto Rican. A manananggal is a Filipino mythological character, usually a female and usually preying on kids and babies. Not sure if they did the research but it's kind of a travesty to change the origins of their mythological characters.

All in all, the series is good. It would have been great if it had more awesome fight scenes and the powers of the guys evolved more.

Great series

I have read a ton of RH stories and this is by far one of the best series i have read. The relationships as separate, and as a whole is wonderful.
SPOILER ALERT..............

the only thing i was bummed about is Molly. I wish we could have read more on her story and wished things in the end of the book were better for her . A better outlook on her future. In any case you wont be dissapointed with any of the books in this series. Off to find my next book addiction!

it was a little hard to read this books during the start, but this book made me feel a lot of emotions towards the end. worth my read but feel like the series could have been shorter. but it still made me sob like a baby, will definitely miss these characters. there are also still a lot of loose ends in the story, was hoping they finished it all here.

I will say I loved this series up until book 5. Books 6 and 7 utter and complete trash!

The world was amazing - the characters were amazing and then it was ruined. So much potential and then splat!

Shifters/RH MMMMMMM/Lost Phoenix

SYNOPSIS (of 7 Book Series): This is set in the modern world world but where humans and shifters live separately. The FC (Nix) is the last phoenix. She did not know she was a shifter and has been raised by an abusive father. She escapes to university and discovers that there is a whole shifter community. The shifter community is run by a corrupt council who try to control shifters’ lives and breeding and is run by a strict class system with rare shifters at the top. The series covers the FC finding her mates and bonding with them, discovering her background and trying to bring down the corrupt council. There’s a HEA.

The books are well written and edited with only a few typing and formatting issues. On the whole this is an enjoyable series with a decent amount of world, character and relationship building. The FC is likeable and strong - although not overly kickass and each of the MCs is distinct enough in their characters to give depth and diversity in the FC interactions with them.

The sex level is hot and well written. It ramps up over the books until, for me, it became too much and went on for pages. When you’re already looking at a 7 books series the last thing it needed was more padding. I also find 6 too many for RH and into the realms of ridiculous numbers and logistics!

The problem I had with this series is that it is too long with not enough happening to justify its length. The first 2-3 Books keep moving enough as the basic story line develops and the FC meets and gets to know the different MCs but then it just seems to dry up and start dragging. I was skimming large parts of the story by Book 4. The other issue I had was that whilst the author had no issue describing some pretty gruesome things that happened to the “good guys” and showing how evil the villains were when it came to meting out vengeance the Good Guys were all - can’t kill anyone despite how hideous and evil they are. Whilst you may not want your heroes randomly killing where there is no justification books where you have truly evil villains are let down by authors who do not then give their readers a real sense of justice and closure. Finally, and lastly, the final battle was ridiculously drawn out and then, whilst you get a description of the final fight with Stepanov you don’t hear what happens to the other villains. The whole climax left me with a sense of anticlimax and disappointment. I also didn’t see the point of the epilogues which seemed to add little to the ending.

There are a few inconsistencies and gaps in the story - unclear exactly what the phoenix blood does or what happened to the people on the Island who were supposed to be moved to a different place etc.

In conclusion, a decent enough story just long and drawn out with a disappointing ending.

Overall I really enjoyed this series and am so glad all the audiobooks were available to binge listen to on Scribd. I still think books 5 and 6 were the best and only because book 7 felt a little rushed/off when it came to the big monumental conflict with the remaining Council members. More on that later.

I think this one was one of the most emotional especially the ending, I won't give it away but be prepared for ALL THE FEELS! I did like seeing some battling and alter fighting and some strategy going on, but I thought the battle in book 6 was done better/had more details and suspense and a great climax then book 7, which should have been the ultimate BA scene in my opinion. It fell short for me unfortunately. I knew there would be betrayals so that was good to see. Like I would have loved to see more of the different characters fighting, take down some of the big baddies from the previous books. Seeing some some of the alter's expanded powers more, etc.

One thing I did love that made me big smile was Reenie and her guys. So freakin cute!! Also, loved seeing the getting ready and ceremony for Nix and her guys and then the vows later. This book had a lot of barriers FINALLY coming down and them feeling like a true family. That's why I think the ending was so emotionally distressing. But they definitely left us with an amazing happy ending <3

Narration remained the same as it had in other books 3.5-4 out of 5 stars. I was ok as long as I sped it up and kinda ignore the accents when the female narrator was performing. Now I will say the amount of emotion put in at the end of this book was amazing. The male narrator floored me. I was misty-eyed for waaaaay to long in public as I was listening haha. Fabulous job, really brought it all home and back together.

Sad to see this series go but there were a lot of open ended storyline left so I wasn't sure if this dynamic duo had been planning for spinoffs. Like what happens with Molly? We don't really get to see much of her once she returns to them and is not the same. What about her mates? Also would love to see follow-ups for some of the hybrids and the side characters we met along the way.

Wow!!! Amazing!!! A must read series!!!

What an ending! I’ve read every book in the series and I’m sad that it’s over. I think the only thing that would have made the ending better would have been Nix either being pregnant or to show that vision coming reality. I cried many times through this book. It was emotionally rough to get through but so worth it. The final battle was amazing and everything I hoped for. The little twists were amazing.
I was kind of hoping Nix would have been able to find more phoenix’s like herself. So she didn’t feel alone as a lone Phoenix. I’m still curious about Molly and what changed in her exactly. I’m kind of hoping for maybe a continuation in a new series involving Nix’s kids and Rini’s kids. I think it would be exciting and maybe see how Nix’s powers grow. I’m curious, could she be the immortality Stepanov was looking for since she is life but also death?
Thank you Quinn Arthurs and Harper Wylde for writing this amazing series. The Journey of Nix and her men was absolutely amazing and a true joy to share. You both are truly amazing writers and I lose myself in the story every time. You make me wish they were real life people that I would love to meet. I can’t wait to read your next series!!!

hmm

I am just going to say the thing you shouldn't say... I was completely underwhelmed with this book.

Only 5 chapters were actually interesting.

After reading this entire series all I can say is I'm thankful it's over. I really loved the way this series began.. but as it progressed there was A ALOT of filler. I honestly think this would've been spectacular as a trilogy. The action leap frogged through this story.. interesting and action packed, next book TONS of internal musings and sex, rinse and repeat. I just want to add that I'm an avid reader and it took me close to an entire week to trudge through this.. but honestly it felt like much longer.

SPOILER-Y bits.....

Also, there were still so many things just glossed over. Like Molly and her mysterious change. What about her unclaimed mates. With all the fuss about Rini and Ciarian I expected to actually read about the groveling and following mating, but nope. Just a whole lot of drama and BOOM everything is now perfect. Perhaps the authors will make a spinoff to answer these questions, but I am SO burnt out on this story and the way it was written there's zero chance in h3ll I would read any more!

A review was a must….this story was amazing.

I don’t do reviews but this series deserves one.
This story had so many ups and downs. I laughed , cried, got angry…..and hot 🥵.

The entire story was well laid out, the world built, the characters developed (even if Ciar was still mysterious enough to drive me nuts and make me want to know more!), the story completely flushed out.

Reading such a well developed story was amazing! Thank you for not cutting it short and skipping over things! I would rather read 7 books then one or two and feel like there was so much more that could have been written. Thank you for a wonderful story.

P.S. this could have turned into me threatening the authors and being very very mad due to the way it seemed it might end….I’m happy I did not have to vow to never read another one of their books!

Done

Well, finally....it's over. Okay, I will have to admit this went on for too long. I don't think the series should have been more than 4-5 books. Really, it wasn't a surprise that they needed to kíll the council members to end the war. But, somehow none of them were actively searching for their location. It seemed so stupid that the villains were aware of the rebellion's location and they gave an invitation for the war date. Until then, our characters were just chilling.
Too many fillers........and, I was done with the whole "I am not good enough" theme, like come on, this was end of the 7 books series.

Anyways, I am just glad that this is over. ... Although, what the héll is going to happen with Molly and the guys she used to like?

Spectacular Finale

This has been one incredible series. Quinn and Harper have brought to life some wonderful characters, an epic plot all set in scenic Alaska. Nix's journey hasn't always been roses and rainbows but her path brought her 6 sensational men, many forever friends and a whole new life. With the final battle lines drawn and some life changing surprises, Nix and her family are tried and tested throughout these pages. Nail biting suspense, intense action, so much emotion, and plenty steamy love this is an amazing ending. I sincerely hope we get another glimpse into this world in the future. This series is a must read! Thank you ladies for your words!

Amazing ending!

This was really good and well thought out. It was intricately woven and tired info from the beginning of the series to the end. It came full circle.

There were a couple times I couldn't envision some of the 🔥 scenes and the logistics of 6vs1 was discombobulated, but they were still really great. Maybe it requires more imagination and open mindedness on that part.

I'm a little disappointed i don't get more with that ending like... what does Nix do for "work" and what's this new society like. I can't tell. I also would have liked another epilogue with the vision she saw at the end.

Overall, this was 4.7 stars imo!

I was invested in this series so I was ready for this book to answer my questions. Is Stepanov really Nix's father? What happened to her mother? Will all of the guys in Nix's harem survive the final fight? My questions were answered but there were loose ends left over. I wanted to know what happened to Molly and her two guys. Tao and Cedric lost their True Mate's marks that marked them as Molly's mates. I want to know what happened to the throuple and did the men choose Molly despite losing their marks. I also want to know in what other ways Molly was changed by being resurrected by Nix. This is at least a Trilogy of its own! I want answers!

This series started off well and had a lot of potential. There was just an unnecessary amount of repetition and certain parts were juvenile. It’s like every single slightly immature fantasy about s*x was mixed with the proverbial every little girl’s fantasy about love and marriage. To balance that out it felt like the author sprinkled in violent scenes (which were well written) with no buildup, which created no tension and left me not feeling as much about the scenes as was probably intended, not even shock. This could have been reduced to two or three books easily and the story would likely have been much more engaging.

Beauty From Ashes (Phoenix Rising Book 7)

Beauty From Ashes (Phoenix Rising Book 7) OMG, I cried many tears. I was throwing things and saying some very angry things about these ladies but they more than made up for it. It was an amazingly fantastic ending. The series was filled with war, suspense, romance, love and so much more. If you love paranormal reverse harems with an epic story then this is a series you will want to check out. I feel like if I say too much it would spoil the ending for you readers. Just wish that there was more information on Molly hopefully we will get more this storyline is absolutely spectacular… definitely recommend this book 📖 and series 📚….

A Wonderful Conclusion... but a bit fluffed

What a ride this series has been. As each book was released, I've reread all the prior ones and each time the series was that much more enjoyable and engaging.

This book could of been shorter though. I never figured why Josh was added, even as a plot point, but he also didnt detract, I guess.

There is a lot of group steam in this installment and we get to see the mating, or was it matings?

Looking forward to falling into the next series these two wonderful writers create together.

Great finale

I really enjoyed this final book of what has come to be an incredible series. Questions were answered, the war was fought and love conquered all. I wish there was more on what happened with Molly though. That is the only thing that put a damper on this book. I don't feel like the Molly situation added anything to the overall story and with as little that was said about her afterwards, it really could have been taken out all together. Overall, I was impressed with the conclusion.

For me the series was just one book too long. There was so much talk about loving each other and a lot of repeating of what kind of person each guy is. I guess it might just not be my thing because some people did highlight the talking about how much and why they love each other.
What I missed was the talks about tactics. A big fight is coming up and you know everything about where, what, and why, but they're not discussing how. Only later you read that they did discuss tactics but they just didn't actually write these discussions in the book.

Happy tears

I have reread this series so many time and my heart still shakes after every devastating turn. With this being the last book I was fully prepared for the happily ever after but to get to that your punched in the gut with heartbreak. These characters will forever hope a special place in my heart. This one of the very first RH/why choose books I've read and I don't regret it. I'm happy that Nix and her guys finally get to breathe and finally enjoy their family they've created.

An emotional amazing conclusion

I have loved every moment of Nix and her guy's journey. So many awesome highs and devastating lows. From the beginning Hiro, Ryder, Theo, Killian, Damien and Joshua have been so perfect for Nix and they have gone above an beyond to be perfect mates to her. I loved seeing the ending to their amazing journey even if I was devastated for a part of this book.

I’ve been on a roller coaster ride with this series. I can’t say that this was my favorite book of the series. I did skim quite a bit in the beginning of the book. What really made it worth while was the last 30%. I’m so happy Nix and her guys got their HEA.

I was hoping we’d see more about Molly and her mates. What really happened to her when Nix brought her back? Maybe these wonderful authors will write a story about Molly or maybe an extended epilogue.

I seriously cried, laughed and loved beyond words with this book!!

I seriously wanted to scream toward the end of this book. I kept thinking this isn’t how it was supposed to end, crying while my husband and son came running worried AF!! I just kept repeating she can’t be dead! And rest assured she came back and her mates were all there!! OMG words just can’t describe how much I absolutely loved this series!!!!

This series is a really good series that stars out very strong and ends strong. There are a couple books in the middle of the 7 book series that seem like they could go without some details and the story line still be just as good.

Overall this series has a good plot line, great characters and character development. A cool and different take on shifters and Quinn Arthurs version of a shifter world.

This is a slow burn, but when it does burn it burns hot - if you catch my drift.

An amazing journey.

I loved this series so much I dragged out reading the finale hoping it wouldn't actually end. I laughed and cried so hard my husband had to ask if I was ok. The characters had so much depth I felt like I was with then through everything. This is one of the best series I've ever read and I can't wait to read it again. (After I've recovered from the book hangover it's going to give me.)
