I recently learned that writing fiction is the socially acceptable form of Schizophrenia. Yes, what to do with the voices in My Head?
Well, share them, of course...
I have always loved to write, and daydream - it just comes naturally to me. I love to read so I devour books. Sadly, I had a hard time finding the best books, the ones that had sexy, dominant men in them. The ones where the men weren't afraid to spank a girl if she deserved a few well-earned swats. The books that had those scenes were very few and far between.
So, what is a girl to do? I had to add the often needed spankings to the stories... In my daydreams after I finished the books...
I love to write. So, I spent a lot of time writing books that I had to edit spankings out of (in my mind) because they weren't politically correct..
As you can imagine, when I found Blushing Books, I felt I had found a goldmine. Yeah, spankings! And I found a place to send my spanking books!
My books are romantic, and they are fun and naughty, but you won't find any full sex scenes (Just enough teasers). However, there are plenty of spankings all the way through and tons of action to keep you turning the pages.
Oh wait - is this supposed to be about me? Well, if you want to learn about me, come check me out on my blog or my Facebook page.
Two steamy reads involving Liz and Caroline. Caroline was on her way to be a mail order bride but changes her mind and begs Liz to do it. Liz is running from her evil guardian and agrees. Soon sparks are flying between Liz and her new husband. Even when he feels is necessary to discipline her. Caroline is heading back to Chicago when she meets Royce and tempers flare. Royce isn’t afraid to discipline her bad behavior. Fast-paced entertaining read with loads of drama and steam. Great characters and entertaining stories. I liked it.
The two stories in this tale were previously released as two separate stories under the names of MAIL ORDER SWITCH and THE CHICAGOAN SWITCH. "Two old favorites, rewritten as one, with a special, bonus chapter." The stories are clean western domestic discipline stories, with no sex highlighted.
Mail Order Switch (part 1) Elizabeth "Liz" Castle was running away from her lecherous uncle and dressed as a boy heading west on a train. Caroline, a widow from Chicago, was on the same train heading westward to marry Wade Malone as a mail-order bride, but he wanted an "in name only" marriage, someone to cook, clean, and raised his two children. On the journey, Caroline notices that Liz is not a boy, and they strike up a conversation. Caroline tells her about being a mail-order bride, but she doesn't want to do it, she intends to return to Chicago and convinces Liz to take her place. Who knew that Wade was a stern believer in domestic discipline.
The story is about Wade and Liz and how he deals with his wife. This is a domestic discipline story and is a clean story without discussing sex.
THE CHICAGOAN SWITCH (part 2) This story picks up from where Caroline Lowe had changed her mind of going to marry Wade Malone as a mail order bride and talked Elizabeth "Liz" Castle into taking her place. She exits the train and purchases a ticket back home. Caroline is sitting having tea and misses her train heading back to Chicago. She isn't the only one who misses their train, so does Royce Ashby. It seems a young conductor on the train had misquoted the length of time the train would be at this location. Caroline is distraught and becomes unreasonable about getting to the next town. She feels the need to get home to her mother after receiving a telegram about her brother. Her bratty attitude and determination to get home cause her to make many foolish and rather dangerous mistakes. This leads to Royce having to save her, and he disciplines her too.
This is their story, and how they fall in love, Royce is a domineering man who knows just how to handle Caroline and keep her in line.
These two stories – one about Liz and Wade, and one about Caroline and Royce, were previously issued as separate stories. They are independent of each other, with the exception that the two women meet in the first chapter, and then the two couples meet in the last chapter. Otherwise, it is told as two completely separate stories in alternate chapters. I found the structure disconcerting, because when a chapter ended, you had to completely change gears from one story to the other – so I finally finished each story separately by reading the alternate chapters until each story ended. Aside from that distraction, the stories were interesting and well written, each with some significant problems as each couple met, courted, and married. Liz was only 18, escaping from an abusive guardian, and became a mail order bride in the west to Wade, who was a rancher with two young children who had lost his wife. Caroline was a well to do young woman trying to escape Chicago by going west after losing her husband, but returns to Chicago and in the course of the trip meets Royce, who is very well-to-do because his family owns the railroad. Each love affair has its share of spankings, as both men believe in being head of their household – and the love relationships are described in a tender but very gentle way – with almost no detail at all. I liked all four main characters, as they were strong and determined to do what they thought was right. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
ONE UNFORGETTABLE ADVENTURE!!! Haggling harpies! Patty flat brought it with this killer storyline and gripping plot, revving up the exuberance and intensity, rocking this artfully composed crème de la crème, wrapping this baby up sleek, shiny and tight. Shenanigans, chaos and mayhem rule the roost displaying the drama, anxiety, intrigue, turmoil, deception, mounting suspense and intense situations along with a boatload of underlying threats, you have one jaw dropping adventure. Quirky mishaps and surprising happenstance, showcase the taxing trials and pulse racing tribulations, stumbling through the crazy twists and wicked turns, testing them in ways they never saw coming. Shattering boundaries and crossing lines, exposing the strengths and weaknesses being weighed and balanced, kicking this gem into the eye of the storm, breaking it down, slamming it into overdrive, launching it into a hissy with a life-altering culmination. The attraction and chemistry builds as each layer is peeled back exposing an undeniable connection, binding them to one another perfectly. The characters are complex and authentic with depth and traits that blend and flow, transforming into genuinely relatable personalities. The scenes are strikingly sharp with abundant details and descriptions creating a colorful backdrop that makes the storyline pop. Amazing job Patty, thanks for sharing this little treasure with us.
What an enjoyable read! From the first chapter of Mail Order Switch I was totally captivated. Patty Devlin takes you back to the West in times of the mail-order brides who heads west with the hopes for a better life. Two such women meet on a train Caroline a mail-order bride looking for a new beginning and Liz who is running away from her uncle. As the two start talking Caroline talks Liz into to taking her place as the mail-order bride so Caroline can return home. Liz finds herself married soon after she arrives in town to Wade a rancher who does not put up with lies. Liz soon finds herself bent over Wades knee getting a spanking.
Caroline on the way back home meets Royce an engineer for the railroad. On the way back East Royce finds out Caroline is a spitfire and Royce rooms finds him attracted to her. But Caroline won't control her temper and soon finds herself on the receiving end of a very sore bottom.
As the two couples feelings grow for one another will they be able to overcome all their trials in this heart felt story full of drama, male dominance, kidnapping, danger, action-packed, with setting descriptions and action sequences that are wonderfully vivid which brings this read together perfectly and will keep you captivated from the moment you begin the journey until the very end!

I wanted to like this book, and I didn’t dislike it. It just didn’t connect as strongly as it could have for me. I think the premise was a good one. The book is really two connected short stories. Elizabeth and Caroline switch places when they meet each other on a train, and Elizabeth goes on to take Caroline’s place as a mail order bride. I don’t want to go into the plot too much and take away what there is to be discovered in the pages of the book. The chapters alternate points of view between the 2 women and occasionally the men.
I think the significant age difference between Elizabeth and Wade, the man she ends up marrying, is not explored enough. After all, it is a tremendous difference in age and experience and it is barely touched upon. The relationship between Caroline and Royce is something of a cross between instalove and enemies-to-lovers.
There is a lot of spanking in this book, and any sexual activity is mostly hinted at … picture scenes that fades to black in a movie. There is some suspense, and both couples do get their HEA.

Caroline and Elizabeth meet on a train in the most stressful of times for each of them. They see the value in switching places. Elizabeth quietly marries Wade to keep herself from having to deal with an overbearing and evil guardian. Elizabeth apparently isn't as good at telling lies as she thought she was and Wade warms her bottom to teach her a lesson or two. Caroline on the other hand butts heads with Royce, a young train conductor who isn't going to take any lip from a mouthy woman such as Caroline. Through a few half baked decisions, Caroline puts herself in danger...which Royce must save her from. Like Wade does with Elizabeth, Royce puts Caroline on the straight in narrow with a heavy hand to the backside.
The characters were written well, as was the story. And although there was spanking within both women's tales, this western romance was a clean read. My only complaint was that the alternating chapters sometimes made it hard to switch gears from chapter to chapter. Overall, good book.

This story is just simply said beautiful. It somehow manages to be quite innocent despite all the spankings going around the story, but as is often with this kind of stories, there is not a single +18 scene of any kind what so ever, except for spankings... But the storyline is good and quite fresh, given this kind of stories, and the aspect of intertwining the lives of two women and men consecutively gives the story almost the feeling of reading two stories at the same time. This one - it is easily very well worth both time and money so I can very well recommend it and am happily giving it fabulous four stars.

Since this is the first book I've read by this author I had no idea what to expect from the world-building or characters and their interaction with each other. After reading the teaser I was intrigued, after all, it's set back in the day with mail order brides AND includes domestic discipline. Patty Devlin has thoroughly surprised and delighted me with these two couples. From the beginning conversation on the train between Caroline and Liz, I was pulled into the story and literally couldn't put it down until it was finished. Emotions run high, lies told, secrets kept, unbridled chemistry mixed in with domestic discipline. This was a great introduction for me to the author and her writing style. I'll absolutely be looking into more of her work.
This book is a compilation of two of the author's older books. I had read one of the books, but it had been awhile, so I enjoyed reading through it again. The book is well written, and the author did a good job of blending the two stories together. I'm sort of on a historic kick at the moment, so this book was perfect for me. That characters were well written and likeable. The women were independent and a bit fiery, and were perfect matches for the two strong, dominant men. I liked the slow build of the romance as the women slowly adjust to their men. The drama with each story was a nice touch and kept things interesting. This was definitely a fun book to read.

This is 2 stories previously released as separate books, but with the 2 female main characters meeting and changing places in the first chapter and then meeting again in the last. The formatting of alternating chapters I didn't like at all. I would have prefer the more common duo, first one story than the other story. I found it hard to focus and frankly annoying. I agree with another reviewer, I read the even numbered chapters and then the odd numbered. Both women have little sassy attitudes and both men believe strongly in domestic discipline. The stories were well paced, interesting, and overall fun reads. I just didn't like the formatting at all!!

This book is a compilation of two books that were already published, The Chicagoan Switch and Mail Order Switch. Elizabeth and Caroline meet on the train. Caroline is a widow who is going to be a mail order bride. Elizabeth is escaping from her uncle who wants her so he can keep her inheritance. After Caroline gets cold feet, she persuades Elizabeth to take her place and Caroline goes back to Chicago. It is a fun book that goes back and forth chapter by chapter with each woman. Elizabeth and Caroline get their HEA and at the end the two couples come together.

Mail Order Switch is a historical western romance about how an accidental meeting on a train shapes the future of two very different women. I very much enjoyed this book. It has likable characters and an interesting plot, that fans out, becoming two independent stories, and comes nicely together in the end. Even though the theme of the book in its entirety is the same, Caroline and Liz’s stories are very different regarding both characters and contents, but both equally good in their own way, taking the reader on two journeys simultaneously. I was first a bit confused when the story split and followed the journey of two woman, each with their own troubles finding men that feel the need to protect and teach them how to listen for their own good. I really enjoyed the storylines as the story unfolds while the truth comes out and both men find that punishment is the way to get a feisty woman to listen to reason. Liz and Caroline completely different in personality, but both finding that the discipline is comforting and done in love. I just loved it.

This is the first book by this Author that I have read, and I will be looking for more by her. This is a story of two women and the two men who come into their lifes. Elizabeth/Liz and Caroline switch places, Liz goes on to meet Wade as his mail-order bride, but she does not tell him. Caroline on her way back to Chicago on the way there she meets Royce Ashby. Both these men believe that a spanking will keep their women in line. There is suspense, drama, danger, twists, turns, kidnapping, and love for both of these women. Simply wonderful characters. This was one of the nicest mail-order bride stories I have read in a long time. It is really about two couples and how fate got them together. Wade, Liz, Caro, and Royce were simply wonderful characters. Yes both Wade and Royce believe in domestic discipline and it was a bit hard on the ladies, but they really did push the gentlemen. There were bad guys, a kidnapping, and so other twists. I enjoyed the book and I am happy to recommend it. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
Here are two stories that intertwine to make one awesome romance. Two young ladies meet on a train. One is on the run and the other is supposed to meet her mail-order husband. Along the way, they end up switching places and that is when the fun starts. 💗🔥💕
This does deal with domestic discipline but it fits well with the timeframe it was set in, so if that's not your cup of tea, you might want to pass on it. 😉

What a fabulous idea for a story! I loved this book. It’s the tale of two women, both runaways.
Elizabeth is out of her element and finds herself taking Caroline’s place as a mail-order-bride. She makes it a whole hour before blowing her own cover in this hysterical scene where she comes clean to her new husband. How will he deal with his new bride?
Caroline. Makes her way back east finding peril along the way. She also finds a handsome stranger. Will he help her find her way home?
Been wanting to read this for a long time but thought £3.99 is a bit stiff for a book. Luckily, it is now in KU. I only read Elizabeth and Wade’s story. At first, I didn’t liked Wade kept on comparing Liz to his dead wife. Good thing as the story progress, he didn’t mentioned her anymore. Not a lot of steam, sexy scenes are fade to black. Lots of spankings. Overall, the story was very sweet I loved it.
When Caroline and Elizabeth meet on a train neither woman could imagine the decision they would make would turn everything upside down in their lives. What they learn is that making decisions can be hard but everything happens for a reason.

Enjoyed the mingling of these two stories, the women and their experiences. How they coped with set backs to their lives and Managed to find wonderful loving husbands.
Enjoyed reading these two mail order bride stories with Liz and Wade and Caroline and Royce. This was a little hard for me to follow and keep the stories separated but each story was very interesting with the men in their life's bring their own form of punishment.
First book I have read by this author now can’t wait to read all of her books! If you like spanking men you will love this book. A five star book and Author❤️❤️❤️.
This was an interesting book. I liked the story. Don't read this book if the idea of a husband spanking his wife as a form of discipline bothers you. If you are ok with that, you'll enjoy the book.
