Over the course of a Pacific Northwest summer, three generations of women, who believe they have nothing in common, will try to become what they never were…a family.
Diane Parks Jeffers swore she’d never set foot back in Pacific Bay, the tiny tourist town on the Oregon Coast where she’d grown up under the harsh judgment of her mother. But when a political scandal threatens the life she clings to in Los Angeles, she has little choice but to pack up her rebellious, uncontrollable teenager and reluctantly return in order to escape the glare of the media and to keep her daughter from spilling to reporters.
Her journey back home will lead all three generations of women to revelations of buried secrets and an understanding that—regardless what happens—some ties can never be broken.
Readers won’t want to miss this deeply-felt and emotionally poignant story.

Mother Daughter Relationship Gives The Reader Pause
One of the things I love about Ms. Gilbert’s books is the focus on relationships. I’m this particular book, the focus on mother/daughter gives the reader much to reflect on. I also love the peaceful feel of the small town setting.
I thoroughly enjoyed this series by Kellie Coates Gilbert about a mother and daughter starting over. Kellie’s books are very realistic, and about women who are not perfect overcoming obstacles thrown at them. This is a wonderful series by a outstanding author. Don’t miss this series!
Another winner from a great writer. Characters are so real you know people just like them. I'd forgotten to read before last book came out so I'm ready to start it tomorrow! On to another fun story.
I really like this author and her writing style.I like when a book has character 's that are flawed, not perfect , who may can connect with the reader somehow rather it's growing up without a dad, growing up with overbearing parents, unplanned pregnancy, there's always a connection.Diane and her daughter find that by going back home to the place Diane was raised, secrets come out lives are put back together .Going home when times are tough is always the way to go, family is the key.
An absolutely, delightful story! I thoroughly enjoyed it! I highly recommend this series and her others. If you haven’t tried her books, you are missing out!
