Governments around the world continue to dominate their citizens. Only Silver City stands as a beacon for freedom. But for how long? Jacob Roth fills his late brother’s shoes as the CEO of Roth Holdings North America. His first goal is to eliminate Silver City, the only place on Earth free of taxes and central banker cryptocurrencies. But the Silver City Militia won’t go down without a fight. As the pressure mounts, Jacob’s marriage is fraying at the seams. With newfound wealth and power, and a separation from his wife, Jacob has an unusual affair. Derek rebuilds his life in Silver City, the only safe place for enemies of the state. He works at Freetown Orchard and joins the local militia. He finds love with another man’s wife. Not just any man but the wealthiest man in the world, the CEO of Thorium Unlimited, Truman Bradshaw. Derek’s unaware of the potential danger until it’s too late. Summer returns to Silver City with her father and infant son. While working at the hospital, she meets and befriends Truman’s wife, Kyra. Summer soon learns of their dangerous marital discord. In an effort to avoid the impending war in Silver City, and the long arm of Truman and his men, Summer and Kyra hide out in Costa Rica. But are they really safe? Naomi continues her quest for the Democratic nomination, battling the front runner, Corrinne Powers. To win, Naomi will have to sell her soul to the men responsible for killing her husband. Can she accomplish the impossible? A presidency beholden only to the American people. Or will she become another bought-and-paid-for president? This novel contains adult language, content, and sexual situations.

The saga of Derek and Summer’s charmed life continues in “Silver City” where, instead of finding peace and tranquillity, they become immersed in a struggle between free citizens and international oligarchs determined to rid the world of ‘Free” cities, in which people take responsibility for themselves—not delegating control and power to overfed and under performing politicians whose decisions are for sale to the highest bidder. In 2052 U.S.A. [which seems scarcely different from 2020 U.S.A.] Naomi continues to battle Corrinne for the Democrat nomination, the Roths and other oligarchs plot to screw even more wealth and influence from their compatriots, and the Panamanian Government reneges on the deal, resulting in a nail biting stand off. Phil Williams’ highly individual writing style is like a movie script in which actions and place are neatly and concisely described in short, sharp chapters that move the plot along perfectly, holding interest and tension as we join our heroes in navigating the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune.
I’ve really enjoyed reading all of Phil Williams books. I’ve especially been looking forward to this 3rd book of the 2050 series, and it didn’t disappoint!! So many of the details feel like they’re right out of 2020! It’s obvious the author does an amazing amount of research and knows our government very well. This series and this particular book has been difficult to put down. The reader’s attention and interest are captured immediately. The characters are well defined, I feel like I know each one personally and can fairly accurately predict their actions and reactions. Thrilling, captivating, thought-provoking, sad, terrifying, and any other emotion you can name!
Phil M. Williams gives us another peek at the future with this book. What I find most disturbing about this book, as well as the entire series, is it’s plausibility. Things are extreme in Williams’ 2050’s America but they’re also frighteningly believable. We are shown what lengths the ‘elite’ money men will go to to keep their boot on those who seek to be truly free. This is a complex novel featuring many characters in many different situations. The tension builds and builds with confrontation never too far away. A well written novel with an eye on the ‘haves’ and ‘have-nots’ and the power that can be wielded.
Love these books and can’t wait for 2021 to get the next one. Love how it follows the lives of several people as they face so many situations that we are facing in our current society. I also like how the author shows that each character has a good side and a dark side and it’s a struggle to see how they end up and how it affects their response to the situations they find themselves in; like real people. There’s no shining hero or damsels needing saving, just real people making real decisions.
In this third book of the series, Phil M Williams continued to interweave three major plots. The stories are convoluted and action- filled. I'm enthralled with the story, and I can't wait to find out what is going to happen to the characters next. There are some mature themes and scenes depicted in this book, so it is for more mature readers. Tristan Wright's and Sarah Grace Wright's narrations continue to add excitement to the story with their performance. I was given a free copy of the audiobook and I have voluntarily left this review.
It seems to me that 2052 isn't all that different from 2020, except they haven't dealt with a pandemic in the book, yet. Again all the futuristic details are crafted to perfection, and hopefully some who have previously realized how rigged the system is for the government and the rich, powerful people will realize it after reading some of the scenes in this book. I hope I'm still alive to read book 4!!
It isn’t unusual to think of people in power becoming corrupted, even when that isn’t the way they began. Our world has also seen its share of corrupt governments, but could it happen to ours? In this great dystopian thriller series, it is a very different and corrupt America that sets the scene. How much would it take for this to be the world we are building? Grab this thought provoking and intriguing series now!
A truly Free city ? AI robots, robodogs and a society intent upon maintaining freedom. Socialism versus Capitalism, this is a story that could be current.. Superb intriguing story, on to the next saga in this series
Really like the way this Series has built one book upon another, each main character fleshed out a bit at a time, and the overall story line developed. All believable and made for easy reading.
I love following all the characters stories. This book was the most interesting following Naomi’s story because I am able to go throw her election step by step. I hope she or the president is elected in the next book so in book 5 I can see the change she makes or whoever is elected.
I enjoyed this book. I do feel it was more story development and character development related rather than lots of action. I look forward to continuing to read books 4 and 5 of the cheri’s.
2050: Silver City picks up right after Exodus and finds Summer and Derek each arriving in Silver City. Will they find respite from their personal situations? That’s not a question I’ll even bother to address, I’m not going to provide any possible spoilers to this awesome story. Once again, this episode is action packed and follows each of the main characters. Some of these characters, like Jacob, begin to take a greater role– however most of the story occurs in Silver City around its most notorious residents. Once again Phil pulls back the curtain on politics by showing what Naomi’s is willing to do to gain the nomination and achieve her political aspirations. If I thought I was addicted after Psycho Island and Exodus, strung out would be my description of the addiction after listening to Silver City. And of course, the awesome narration of Tristan and Sarah from GraceWright Productions only furthers my addiction to this series. I received a review copy of the audiobook version of 2050: Silver City from the author and chose to provide this review.
Book three in the series. I love following these characters through their struggles, their growth, their campaign. 2050 could very well be like this. Special cars, robots, sexbots, enhanced children, etc. Action packed and so interesting.
The narration of Tristan and Sarah Grace Wright is just the best. They both have great voices and tell the story with understanding and feels. They add alot to my enjoyment.
I really liked every one’s progression on the story except Naomi’s. I feel she is becoming more irrelevant as she hasn’t had contact with other characters. Hopefully this will change soon.
