Fallen Crest High
Mason and Logan Kade are two brothers who did their own thing. They were rich and expected to attend Samantha's school, Fallen Crest Academy. They chose public school and now she has to live with them. The problem is that she doesn't care at all: about them, about her friends, about her cheating boyfriend, or even about her parent's divorce. But maybe that's a good thing. Maybe change is a good thing.
This book contains adult/mature young adult situations.
Fallen Crest Family Samantha and Mason are together. Everyone knows it. Not everyone is dealing with it. While Mason’s ready to give them the middle finger, there’s one not going away. Her mother. Threats are issued. Ultimatums are given. Even blackmail is used, but only Samantha can put a stop to Analise. However, when a trauma from her past is triggered, she may not have the courage or strength to do what’s needed. If she doesn’t, Mason’s future could be destroyed.
Fallen Crest Public Sam's first day at Fallen Crest Public doesn't go well. Some girls want to be her. Some girls want to destroy her. And some just don't like her. All in all, despite being protected by Mason and Logan, it's still only the strong survive. Sam will not only have to survive, she needs to learn how to conquer too, but there's another battle growing. Things are about to come to a disastrous end between the towns, Roussou and Fallen Crest. Sam's other main dilemma? Keeping Mason and Logan from getting arrested or hospitalized.
This is guilty pleasure, trashy drama. Get your wine and your chocolate and shut off your brain and read this for fun.
This is 3 books and a novella: a set of drama-filled stories about high school kids -- going through the angst and drama that should only occur among adults. But it turns out the kids often have better morals than the parents. Scary. Turn off the thoughts of "holy crap, these kids are in high school" otherwise you'll never get through this series.
I cannot believe I'm giving this thing 3.5 stars. And I can't believe I actually liked this series. I spent a couple of days reading this compilation. This was less romance and more drama and sex between the two main characters. I also found this FUNNY, but I'm pretty sure it's because I'm not a teen and it wasn't exactly intentional by the author. Note: there are PLENTY of typos and grammar issues, but this crap is just so bad that it's good, so I overlooked it. They all need a good proofreader.
Here's the nitty gritty with some spoilers. Deal with it.
All of these stories are about TEENAGERS suffering at the hands of their parents and then living with the consequences and then acting like their parents. There is NO parental guidance in any of this, and when there is, it just serves as a way to foil the plans of the kids (damn parents!).
At the heart of it all is Samantha, daughter of a psychopathic gold-digger who cheats on her husband (a coach at Fallen Crest Academy where Sam goes to school) to find a wealthy man and moves herself and Sam into the Kade residence. James has two sons who act like Teen Mafiosa: Mason and Logan Kade. They attend Fallen Crest Public, a rival school that's not as academically challenging, but has great sports program. Mason's the oldest and watched how his dad cheated openly on his mother, and therefore hates his father but loves Logan, his younger brother. These two are notorious -- already football legends and Gods around town and are sleeping with all the slutty girls at their school. You don't cross them. Ever. They can also get away with anything and their father will just pay off the offended party and move on. But their loyalties run deep, so if you're accepted by them, they always have your back.
Samantha and her mother move into the Kade house after her mom seduces Mr. Kade and they get engaged.. of course this is despite the fact that she's MARRIED. Good lord. Sam does everything she can to avoid the Kades because she's basically reeling from being uprooted from what she thought was her secure family and plopped into the Kade mansion. Turns out her dad's not really not her dad and her mom is not in a good way crazy. Sam's a chick that doesn't like attention, but once people find out where she's living, she'll suffer the consequences because everyone at school knows who the Kades are, so Sam will either get ostracized because she's with the Kades or too popular because she's with the Kades... Used or Abused. Nice. Now I remember why high school can suck for teens.
Mason and Samantha are both filled with anger over their situations and their families. Sam's got her psycho mother, her cheating ex boyfriend, her ex best friends, one of whom was sleeping with the ex behind Sam's back, the other who knew about it and didn't tell her. She's done her best to fly under the radar at school, not get too clique-y, not care about anything or anyone, but then all this crap happens to her. She ends up with a strained relationship with her dad (who isn't her biological dad) and realizes that she doesn't have any trustworthy friends. Mason's got a brother who worships him and a best friend and a bunch of lackeys who act like he's the Don in some mafioso movie, but there's pressure and issues with that too... in the name of Kate who is a psycho slut who used to sleep with Mason and thinks they're dating when he has expressly told her they're not. Then there are the other girls who are willing to do anything just to be with him and he takes them up on it. It's disgusting and fascinating all at the same time. 90% of the girls are painted like sluts while the guys are painted like hot horndogs who can't keep it in their pants. I was waiting for the teen orgy scene. He hates his father and his philandering ways and he really hurt for his mother, who is an uber wealthy socialite bent on revenge.
But there's something about hottie Mason... and despite the fact that they try to avoid each other, M and S attracted to each other. And then once Samantha joins them one night for mischief and mayhem, she's been officially accepted by the Kade crew. And then she and Mason go and make it official and fall for each other. I've read better written scenes that are more dramatic and romantic and sexy. But there's your romance and the driver for everything else that happens in the books.. essentially everyone wants to tear them apart except for Logan who loves having a new sister.
Now let's talk about drama. I was keeping a list of all the crap that happens, so here we go:
Sex (and lots of it) Violence Mean girls Bullies Assault Parties and drinking (and lots of it) Divorce Absentee parents Lots of philandering (apparently Mr. Kade has slept with like a million women while married to Mrs. Kade, but most of the other parents have cheated too) Gold-diggers Psychopathic women Revenge plots Abuse (physical, mental) Blackmail Cutting Abortion Lies and deceit Histrionics (plate throwing) Abandonment Car accident (after a brake line was cut) Eating disorders Sexual assault
What happened to drug addiction? Teen pregnancy? I mean M and S copulate like rabbits. It actually got boring... her birth control must have been magically awesome. Maybe bankruptcy of one of the wealthy families? Death? Maybe embezzlement or some other white collar crime will show up in books 4 and 5. No one's been shot or stabbed either.
Now for the ridiculously funny. There were some descriptions of the meetings between the kids who rule the three high schools that sounded exactly like a mafia meeting. Hysterical. And then there were the descriptions of how Mason and Logan shore themselves up to confront and/or fight others... it made them sound like those Velociraptors from Jurassic Park. What a hoot!
Issues: I had read Fallen Crest High first awhile back, and the novella of Mason from his POV was helpful, but then it switches to Samantha for the other 2 books, but then it changes to dual POVs with Sam and Mason which got a little confusing with the switching back and forth. There's a lot of stuff happening in these books that it could be confusing, keeping 1 POV may have been less confusing.
There could have been more diversity in names. Nate, Tate, Kate all sound alike.
Pacing and timing of the book. The third book, which is Mason's senior year is purely about Kate's stalking and assault of Sam and subsequent revenge is disturbing on a number of levels. But then once it's over, I expected more romantic elements... even prom, but there was nothing. Just Sam's anxiety about Mason going off to college and Tate confronting S about Logan actually being in love with Sam, like it's some big revelation. That's just weird. Logan's not dangerous, he just picks the wrong girls. So what's the big deal here?
S's panic attacks were really quite disturbing for me. Let's hope someone intervenes to get this chick some help.
OMG, I tried, I really did, but this book was so stupid that I just couldn't finish it. Let me just say, I HAVE read a lot of really stupid books and a lot of badly written books. This one though... wow, this one ALMOST takes the cake. The time lines were horrible and by no means consistent, the conversations were horrible and confusing, I would have to go back and re-read pages to attempt to figure out what was going on, AND there was just no point to it, NONE! Drama, bullying, parties, and repetitive sex scenes, that's it! Those are the things you will get while reading this book.
It appears everyone else loved it and that I'm the only one who couldn't stand it, that's fine. It had its good points, but they were FAR and few between. I just couldn't do it anymore, I GAVE UP!
The first 3.5 books in this series are interesting. Lots of drama and some twists that wasn't expecting. It deals a lot with different types of bullying and mental health. Each of the individual books in this set has it's own review posted.
Loved this, captivating and not the normal college romance. This had lots of action too! Got me out of my reading mojo. Definitely recommend, now going to download the next 😆
This box set included the prequel and the first 3 books in the series. I’d been hearing great things about these books. And when the author combined all these books at a greatly reduced price, there was no way to go wrong.
First, please understand that these are high school aged kids that are very much into partying, with alcohol, no drugs, sex, fighting and sports. There is little parental guidance and straight up, bad to horrific parenting.
Mason- This is the prequel to the series. This starts out with Mason & Logan’s parents still married and there are most obviously problems in the marriage. The boys and their mother know that their father is a serial cheater and have witnessed it with their own eyes. The boys are to the point that both boys want their parents to divorce. At the end of this book, they are informed that their father’s new lover and her teenage daughter will be moving in with them.
Fallen Crest High- In this first book, Samantha and her mother move in with Mason & Logan and their father James Kade. The kids have a tendency to ignore each other while they fight with the parents. Samantha goes to Fallen Crest Academy High and the boys got to Fallen Crest Public High. Through it all, the kids all bond & Sam & Mason start up a relationship.
Fallen Crest Family- The kids, Sam, Mason and Logan have all bonded and banded together. They are still wary of pretty much all of their parents. Sam has some major daddy issues after learning that the man who raised her, isn’t her biological father. She’s a messed up teenager with anger issues and blames a lot of stuff on David, her non-bio dad. Also the parents aren’t too thrilled of Sam and Mason’s relationship and Logan’s staunch support of it.
Fallen Crest Public- Sam transfers from Fallen Crest Academy to Fallen Crest Public for the last semester of her junior year. Logan is also a junior, but Mason is a senior. And the girls at Public are a lot rougher and tougher than the girls at Academy. Sam is a definite target of the bullies because she is dating Mason and that left the “top dog” girls on the outs with the top dog guys.
There are two more books left in this series, Fallen Fourth Down (which is out right now) and the final book, which is currently unnamed.
Oh My G….I am totally in love with Fallen Crest Series and all of the spin offs. I love Tijan’s writing and her books♥️♥️. I love that there are always filled with so much emotion, heat 🔥, surprises, and lots of love. While reading the series I have laughed, cried, gotten angry, felt empathy with the characters and their struggles and love all of the heat and chemistry between the characters. You (as a reader) will never be bored when your emotions are engaged and that’s how I judge my favorite authors/writers. Fallen Crest was so hard to stop reading. I kept wanting to know more and more about all of the characters associated or mentioned in the Fallen Crest Series and all the spin offs like Mason, The Boy I Grew Up With, and so many others. I think though that one of my absolute favorite book is Fallen Crest Forever. I think I cried the most with that one. Tijan has a way of adding so much depth and details about the characters that you fall in love with them and empathize with them to the point that you so invested that you can’t stop reading about them. Fallen Crest and all of the spins offs will always be a favorite. Tijan did a wonderful job with the series and spin offs and I can’t wait for her next book that will be released called Insider. I have read almost all of her nooks and will continue to read them as Tijan has fast become a favorite go to author! Highly recommend reading Fallen Crest Series and the spin offs. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
This series has been recommended to me for a year. I read all of them this week and enjoyed it. I love long series like this where you can get really invested. This wasn’t as good as hashtag, rebels at Raleigh high, red thorn series or the broken hill series. The difference was the heroine. Mason was amazing and Logan is the best. Samantha was pretty disappointing though. Way to mental and the author ruined her one good quality of being unflinchingly loyal to mason when she left him after the gun thing. We all want to like and look up to our heroines. Sam didn’t earn that from me. I felt like the author was trying to show her path dealing with mental health but she never really did. Worth reading but not the best.
This book collection is amazing! It really emphasizes “friends are our chosen family.” We don’t get to choose our families, but sometimes you’re lucky enough to find the people who matter most and build the best relationships with them where you support each other no matter what. Mason and Logan in particular showcase this with each other and when they add Sam to their group.
This series has sucked me in from the first sentence to the very last couldn't put it down ! Suspenseful. Heartwarming. Crazy. And so many other things wrapped into one! Beautifully written must read 5 stars!
My guilty pleasure, just about sums it up!! If you're looking for drama, messed up lives, steamy x-rated scenes, mean girls and bad, bad boys, then this is the book for you! This omnibus version of the first three books + the prequel is real value for money, hours of intense reading.
DNF 19%. I was enjoying the story although it was a bit slow. I decided to check the other books in the series and realised how many books there were. I decided to not carry on with the book which was a shame. I don't think they would have held my attention for that many books.
I loved all the books! They are intense and deal with some dark themes, but I cannot stop reading. Mason will do anything to protect Sam, as will Logan. You just have to read this series. Can’t wait for the next book.
I loved this book!! I pulled me in, ripped my heart out, sowed it back up then ripped it out all over again!! I went from laughing to crying in 2 pages!! I hope Sam and Masons story continues!! I can’t wait to read on!!
I feel like i actually know the characters personally. I have read the series through twice and am currently on book 3 on audiobooks - Im loving it.
I started reading this series back in 2013 and fell in love with the characters and sorylines from the get go. Whats not to love about it - Romance, partying, sex, young adults finding themselves, fighting, causing havoc - its basically everything you want in a book. Its not a book where you have to think you just get lost in it its fab! Highly recommend as it is my absolute favourite everrrrr!!! :)
