I listened to the audio version of the book. The narrator’s tone matches Tessa perfectly. Third book in an exciting fantasy series for middle school age and up, and for adults too. Tessa, Ash and Calda have used magic, inventiveness and swordsmanship to overcome their previous challenges. Now they have a kingdom to save. Let’s hope honesty and true love will triumph in the end because evil sorcerers can’t be allowed to win. As I listened to books two and three it struck me here are all the hallmarks found in the well known epic fantasy series, but for a younger audience. Listen/read the books in order if you can. Thank you to Margie Benedict for the audio ARC. The views expressed are all mine, freely given.
Happy to say I was more than pleasantly surprised with this series! It did start to feel a little repetitive after three books, but it was still interesting enough. I wish the had been taken further and the subplot had had a little more buildup, but overall I was happy with the story, especially the new challenges the characters had to face. I'm sad to say goodbye to the trio!
Final book in the trilogy and our three heroes are once again fighting dangerous conjurers to free people from slavery and a dire future. Tessa will discover new skills and abilities. Ash will fight for freedom and Calder will use his trickster skills.
Very well written and well narrated book (I listened to the audiobook). Great characters in a well paced novel where Tessa, Ash and Calder go on a final quest. Their lives will be put in danger but they will help each other. Good finale, enjoy.
Tessa, Ash and Calder had another grand adventure with lots of dangers, intrigue, betrayal and love. I hate to see their story end. It was quite a ride.
This is my honest review. Give the trilogy a read if you like a great adventure from 3 unexpected heroes.
What a wonderful adventure filled with everything that makes it an epic story. The characters are interesting with strengths and weaknesses. The storyline flows smoothly and quickly with lots of twists and turns and surprises. The story is told from the three main adventures providing a glimpse into their motivations and actions. A great end to a an epic adventure.
it was ok. First book i enjoyed, 2nd in series was boring, and this one was just ok. I would've enjoyed this immensely in 5th grade but as an adult, not so much. Pretty slow going
