Lee Callaway Returns With Two Unconventional Cases

Another fabulous adventure by this author with PI Callaway attending to two tough cases, one brought to him by his daughter's school friend! Not wanting to disappoint his daughter, he starts investing the 'death' of the young girl's Mom, finding some interesting information right away. At the same time his landlord implores him to help her son, who invested his own money, and hers, with what looks like a Ponzi scheme and of course their money is now gone. Whew...a couple of cases that will be so tough to get through!
Callaway investigates with his usual tenacity, and the amazing plot, intriguing characters and crazy info he comes across will keep You glued to the page from start to finish! I could Not put this book down, as cops Fisher and Holt, great Detectives themselves, become involved while investigating a different case.
A thrilling story in PI Callaway's history, a 5 STAR story that All who enjoy a great mystery will love!!!

This is book 8 of the Lee Callaway mysteries, and a great read. I loved the scene where Lee was doing a presentation to his daughter's class, as it really showed his love for her, and the related scene in the diner with Joely made me smile too. The fact Lee took on two cases that were unlikely to pay anything, out of love and respect, really shows the good side of his character, and the intrigue that those cases brought was well written. As usual there was a concurrent case for Fisher and Holt, and it was good to have the two strands interweaving throughout too. An absorbing read that is really enjoyable and highly recommended.

This is the first book I have read from this author although this is the eighth book of the Lee Callaway series. Luckily, this is not a continuation of the series.

Anyway, this begins with a murder of a man in a seedy motel and Detectives Fisher and Hold discover thousands of money in his room. Meanwhile, Detective Callaway who is a private investigator is hired by a classmate of his daughter, Millie as she believes that her mother is still alive, even though her mother was murdered by her father three years ago. The two cases seemed to be connected later on.

This is a fast paced thriller and also a quick read and so I really enjoyed the reading. There were some twists and turns in the books and the ending was so unexpected. The writing was good, making the reader draw into the story and the chapters were sort of short though there were lots of chapters. It was interesting from the beginning to the end, which is what I liked about the thrillers. However, there were some unnecessary parts in the book that was a bit boring and was thrown from the plot line of the story.

However, I really enjoyed reading the book--this was a fast paced thriller and quick read. Worth five stars!

In the eighth book, Calloway agrees to take on two cases for which he will not get paid. One is for the young friend of his daughter. The other is for his Asian landlady.

Mystery and suspense

Calloway once again has his hands full with two cases. One is helping his land lady Mrs Chen, try to get her money back from some unscrupulous investing company. The other is to find a little girl's Mother. Both cases end up with Calloway put in a position of posaible harm to himself and his family. You really needto read this book, as it will tug at your heartstrings. I loved the book.

Complex

Love the Callaway series and each book progresses to a more intricate and complex investigation. With every book I say it can't get any better, but then it does. It's just sad that Lee can't catch a break and really earn some decent money while he does the job he loves. Impatiently waiting for the next edition. (She says hopefully)

High crimes

Thomas Fincham continues the Lee Callaway series with an explosive novel of intrigue, murder and conspiracies. Callaway has 2clients, neither can pay, who desperately need his help to unravel a traumatic mystery. Read along to see what happens along the way. Phenomenal series and great plots.

The Unknown Woman

I have read al of the books in this series so far. This is No. 8 . This is the first time I can honestly say I can see growth in the writer. While the way things happen is very simple and improbable, I am enjoying the books. More so as they progress.
There are a few things I could do without but I understand why they are in the books.

RECOMMENDATION: READ THEM

A Must Read

I chose 5 star rating for this book because it gives you insight to what you would do for someone you love as well as an innocent child. It brought tears, a smile and is well worth reading as a stand alone but I am glad I read each one before it

Excellent mystery

One of the better mysteries I have read in awhile. With the novel the private investigator had two cases and he worked to solve both of them. The stories seemed credible and the reader emphasizes with the main characters. Highly recommended.

The best so far

I have read the other books, this one is the best so far. The only thing is the ending kinda left a little to be desired. How did they find patti? It was great otherwise!!

Great 👍

Love all Fincham's work. However, I don't like how information is repeated over and over again. Once you have read at least 3 series, this information need not be repeated.over and over again.

Aghast at the plot

This was so intricately paid out, how does Thomas Fincham manage to do it?

Perhaps it’s just my own fragile emotional state, but the circumstances of the protagonists here hit me like a sledgehammer.

I really enjoyed reading this book and it's definitely one of the better stories in the Lee Calloway series. This one does an absolutely fantastic job of linking up all the different cases and it definitely took me a little bit longer to see how everything was connected.
