This book defineitly requires all the warnings the author lays out in the start. I think for many it would be best to include in the blurb so they know best to move on or not. If dark reads are not your thing you probably want to skip this one. While the book contains vampires, it still felt bloodier than I expected and that’s saying a lot. I think this would equal a dark mafia romance if you were to take out the vampire aspect. Having said that, the book has A LOT of M/M as well as triggers such as various kinds of abuse, torture and rape. The heroine is really put through it and most of the book is more focused on her mates relationship as they try and get her back. The book was a fairly quick read (couple hours) and I imagine I’ll be able to binge through the second before the evening tonight.

I am not sure what I was expecting but this surpassed almost everything. What a great start to a series!
The book starts off with a bang. Literally, sexy times and then BAM an attack and kidnapping. The male leads are left in the aftermath trying to find and rescue her. We don't get much of an impression from her yet, but I look forward to learning more in future books.
The guys are awesome and their love for each other and the kidnapped chick is admirable. I really look forward to the next book!
Trigger warnings - violence, gore, rape, torture, MM sex scenes, well actually lots of sex, etc. Just skip it if you have triggers.

Tao! Cannot wait to see how Addler and Barlet handle him being added. Because it's going to be explosive. Not only do they already have a lot of tension and violent tendencies towards each other, but there's some chemistry and attraction partially by a couple at least of them. So much potential there!
Can't wait to see her dad die. He deserves it. And I hope it is long and drawn out and detailed. Bring the darkness on page, lol. Yes, I am kinda twisted like that. Sorry, not sorry.
Side note - I did take off half a point because some sections of the book could have been fleshed out a little more for a richer reading experience. For example, at the start we jump right into a sexy encounter and then she is kidnapped. While it works, it also doesn't allow the reader to be as invested in Neale as a character yet... and I am hoping she will be the FMC? Anyway! Also we got a good backstory on Tao, but not the other two either. So, yes, I enjoyed it immensely, but I really want to know more. I think this story has great potential and I will definitely read the next book.

I LOVE IT SO MUCH! So I was not one to read dark romance. I was too afraid, however one day I delved into and found a new genre to read. I love the darkness, grittiness, the blood and everything that entails in dark romance. Lucy Scott Bryan BRINGS IT ALL IN ONE BOOK! It was amazing, sad, tragic, kick butt and take names later. The fighting was epic. The love that transcends throughout the book and you see how deep it runs. So can that forever love prevail? Will new bonds be forged? Can Neala rise from the abuse she endured? What will she do? So much and I cannot wait for the next book to come out. I am so ready.

OK this book got me very bad. This book was too much. The reason why I say this is because the fact that this author made me cry with the amazing and beautiful words she wrote in her book.
So first she does it to my heart with the amount of detail and special attention to where each scene is explaining. The amount of thought that went into the book and information for all the emotional scenes that are in the book. They are so good, The romantic scenes are so breathtakingly beautifully written to the point where you have to double take because of the amount of detail that went into it. The amount of thought when the author was thinking of what each scene would be about. How she planned the book out to the point where you can see the author work her magic on you through her words.
Second. The battles scenes and the level of detail that went into the blood and gore. Those parts showed how a far a family will go to protect one another. It shows whoever betrayed them met the fate of not having the mercy of living but dying and repenting for the betrayal to the family. I loved how the author described every scene, so you can get an image and feel of what each character might feel in each moment.
Finally the ending. The bloody cliff hanger got to me. That was the most illegal shit I have ever read. Lucy Scott Bryan!!!!! Why did you have to torture me with the ending. The ending made me cry. And I tried not to most of the times, I was either on the bus or the train so I didn't want people looking at me thinking I was crazy. Anyways the book was amazing but the cliff hanger got to me so bad it took me a few days to process what I read.
So thank you author for giving me a story to read that was both heart breaking and heart warming.

Door is a fast paced thrill ride full or action, sexy times and heart. I loved every minute of it. When they say medium to hot smut level that is not a joke. This was possibly the fasted paced read I've had and it never let up! While there are plenty of sex scenes to keep your appetite full there is also a fantastic overall story here. The Vernard family sucks you in immediately and I wish I could be one of them. The way that the vampires worked seamlessly with the shifters in this book was a refreshing take on the paranormal world. I thought that was inventive and refreshing to see. I can't wait for book 2 to be released!

Well I can officially say I've added another amazing author to my favorites list. The door will take you on a wild ride that starts hot and steamy that soon turns to wtf is happening. You will experience in amazing detail the pain and heartache of our main characters and the commitment they have to get what was taken from them back. Nothing will stop them from weeding out the bad seeds and family and loyalty is what gets them through the tough moments. Lucy's did an incredibly job and drawing you into her world and creating words that make you feel like you are there. All the details are amazing and I'll do my best to patiently wait for book two. But please don't take to long I'm kinda in this for the long haul.

Dark but with characters that you genuinely cant help but like. The relationship between Neale (FMC), Barlet & Adder is one of love but you dont see much of it before Neale is kidnapped. You do see the fallout from it and how Barlet & Adder cope with it. Which is with sharing in their grief with compassion and tenderness towards each other. Its heartbreakingly lovely in parts. Laughs are few but the majority some from Samwune (a friend and bear shifter). Its much needed or i think the tension, tortured parts and the blood would overshadow the book. That ending though??? Knockout!! Looking forward to book 2 because this book was bloody good

I don’t have the words to express how fantastic this book is. It’s dark and gritty, so full of detail that I felt like I was right there inside the story. It sucked me in and tore my heart out but in that good way that left me breathless and wanting more. I’m so looking forward to devouring the next book. I want more from Ms. Bryan.

Amazing freaking story!!! Storyline was so good!! Absolutely loved the entire book. Yes there is a cliffhanger. But that’s all good. Just makes me want the next book ASAP!! Loved the characters. I don’t like to give away spoilers but I highly recommend reading this story. Author did such a great job writing it!!! Loved this story and can’t wait to read what happens next!!!

I couldn't put this book down. The sex scenes were cold shower worthy. It does have major triggers and is 18+ , but if you can handle it so worth it. One more thing OMG at the cliffhanger.

Holy crap what a ride!!!!! I'm not one for dark,, twisted, and bloody, but Lucy sucked me in from the very 1st word!!!! A truly heart wrenching story about true love and true family!!!

A deer and Barlet have just witnessed the kidnapping of their mate. Seeming at whits ends, they call in outside forces. Door: Book 1 contains plenty of gore, dark humor, excruciating emotional heartache, and quite a few m/m scenes. Door: Book 1 ends at a cliffhanger with an almost HFN but not quite. Lucy Scott Bryan ends Door: Book 1 in such a way that you are happy with the ending to an extent but feel a demand for book 2. The scenes in Door: Book 1 play out almost like it was written as a movie first, with highly descriptive text, well planned dialogue, and a plot to end all plots. Just when I thought i had it all figured out, Lucy Scott Bryan goes and throws a curve ball. I found this to be an entertaining read.

Door tore me and my heart to pieces. I’m still reeling from that ending and haven’t fully processed what I read. This book was certainly one heck of a ride!
Immediately you are thrown into the action. There is no getting to know you period between you and Door’s characters! Lucy started Door out with a literal bang, and you can feel the love Barlett, Adder, and Neale have for one another. Then BOOM, Lucy shreds our hearts into tiny pieces and the real action begins!
From chapter one all the way until the end I never could guess what was to come, there’s no “oh I see where this is going”- you are kept on your toes for the entire show until the grand finale where we are all left reeling and screaming “That can’t be the ending! I need to know what happens NOW!”.
If you like steamy romance, fated mates, action, and suspense then this is 100% the book for you! Words cannot express how much I loved this book! I’ll be impatiently waiting on pins and needles for book 2!

This is a new author to me but she definitely gained a follower in me. This book was insanely awesome. It does have loads if triggers so proceed with caution but if your not bothered by them then you'll love this book as much as I did. It's full of darkness, sadness, its steamy hit and definitely tragic. I can't wait for the next book to come out I'm dying to see Neala come out on top at least I hope she does after everything she has been through.

Wow what a book, it takes you on a crazy intence ride from the start. We meet Barlet, Adder and Neale. From here things go crazy when her dad attacks and kidnaps Neale. While they try to rescue her and fail they get the help of Tao to find her.
With so many twists and turns to keep you gripped and your head spinning with wondering what's going to happen next. Totally need book 2 with that ending asap

This book is outstanding from start to finish. It’s smoking hot and yet full of love and devotion that never wavers. The dark twisted tale of unspeakable horrors visited on a vampire ménage with a profound twist at the end. Can’t wait to read the sequel. Absolute must read.

This book starts out hot and steamy but goes to WTF real quick and your left not knowing what will happen next. I am not really sure how this book got so many 5 stars.... What the blurb doesn't say is this book is mainly M/M and there is literally only 2 POV's from the FMC. The entire book just dragged for me it was entirely about her two mates getting the female mate back after getting kidnapped and tortured. I loved the idea behind the book, just fell flat for me.
