5 stars for Midnight Shores on Whisling Book 4. Picking up this book to read is like connecting with old friends. We catch up with Lily who has convinced Allen to return home and is taking it day by day. We watch as Alexis imploded in her search for love and acceptance. We rejoice with Beds and Dax and Olivia and Dean. Pull up a chair and catch up on Whisling and it's residents.

This was the 4th book in the series but my first read. I didn't realize it was a series until I had already downloaded it to read. I seemed to be able to understand the character development without any problem.

I love coastal stories and tend to be drawn to them. I particularly liked the way the author intertwined many of the characters' lives. Many of them were centered around the operation of a "Red Food Truck" on the island. Super easy and relaxing read with a happy ending.

I didn't read the other books in this series, but it still feels like a complete story. I also thought this book and apparently the others connected would make a great daytime soap opera. Lots of great characters and plenty of twists and turns. Well-written tale of romance and twisted suspense.

Midnight Shores: Whisling Island Series Book 3 is by Julia Clemens. This series is set on an island off the coast of Washington State. It is a hidden treasure that was created by Julia. Julia makes this island so welcoming and the people so delghtful that it makes the reader want to move there and try it out. The descriptions of the restored homes are brilliant. It is entirely too much so that you want to live here forever with these people as your friends.
The women of the Island have formed a formidable bunch. Their lives intertwine and they help each other with their children and their problems. Most have known each other for a long time. Deb has a sister; but Nora lives somewhere else and only comes home for visits. She is engaged to Luke and between them they have three girls. Gen has her sister Bess. Gen is married to Luke and they have two girls Maddie and Cami; Bess just divorced Jon and they have three grown children. She is attracted to a younger man, Dax. Kate who is dating Kevin has her sister Lily. Lily is married to Allen, a kindergarten teacher. He adores his daughter Amelia. He has a car wreck and becomes paralyzed. Olivia is divorced from Seth, a very rich man who things he needs to control things, like Olivia. They have two daughters, Rachel and Pearl. Olivia begins dating Noah when she loves Dane. Finally, there is Alexis who has come back to be with her mother. She works as a chef for Bess’s food truck.
Lily is frustrated. Amelia is down for her nap and Allen isn’t home yet. He knows how this is a special night and he shouldn’t be late. With a lively young lady like Ameila around, there isn’t much down time for her parents. Then Kate calls and Lily knows something is terribly wrong. Allen has been in an accident. After many hours in the hospital, Lily learns that Allen is now a paraplegic. However, she takes it in stride; but Allen doesn’t he goes to Alabama with his mother who is determined to break them up. Olivia gets in the picture when she starts dating and her girls don’t particularly like it.
The books are good and keep you entertained.

Book Three is worth the read!

This book is the third in a series. They really are best if read in order. It’s fun to catch up with my favorite characters and follow along. The characters have depth and real life challenges that don’t always have a happy ending. I like that. I also like the clean read aspect. My only complaint is that I don’t always remember who the characters are or their particular story between books so a quick update at the beginning would be helpful.

Bess, Alexis, Olivia & Lily ❤️

🥄For our four ladies living and loving on Whisling Island a ferry ride away from Seattle, life is bittersweet. After break ups and other losses, life isn’t easy, but it helps to have friends and family that have your back.

✏️This is book four in a relatively long series set on an island that’s not far from Seattle. The women are linked as friends and acquaintances and their lives and loves aren’t always easy.

The women in books 1, 2, and 3 are revisited, with storylines revisited and new ones begun. A few romantic conflicts were satisfactorily resolved. I was glad to see Olivia, Bess, and Lily resolve their conflicts. Bess’ assistant has her own set of issues and her story kept me reading. The editing problems I saw in book 3 were not seen in this volume, so it was a nice easy read. I see book 5 is coming soon, and I’m wondering what’s in store for this group.

Love prevails

This is a well written story of the strengths and foibles of middle-aged women in a variety of circumstances. The woven interrelationships of the four couples keeps the story interesting. Three generations of strong women support each other in an amusing and heartfelt story.

too many characters

A new family of characters are introduced in every chapter and it takes until the last chapter to even start to see a connection. And even more characters were introduced in the last chapter. It was too many characters to keep track of. I never felt I got to know enough of the story of each one to become invested.

Just what the new year offeted

Excellent flow of he continued story in the island. Kind of sappy at timed, but right now it filled a void in my life. Isn't that what fiction is really all about? I am looking forward to the next book.

And this too shall pass.

Hard work, heartbreak and waiting for the right one will get you back on your feet. Love in the family and among friends will help to make it all work out. Very feeling book. Crosses every emotional barrier.

Wasted my time reading this book

Slow moving and sometimes confusing book jumping between the lives of 3 women and their love-troubles. Main characters seemed to be rather shallow.

This main character will show great depths of dedication and faith. I think you'll like the storyline and the character interaction. Great for a winter's eve read.

Together

A good book of entertwined ministories. Problems to be solved and relationships to be restored. Realistic . Would have liked a more thorough description of the island.

It’s good to see that these ladies lives are finally straightening out. Not to give anything away but in book 5 Olivia does have a small problem, my way of taking a large one.
