Until After Christmas

Rate this book
Henry isn't a fan of Christmas and usually spends the holiday alone, wallowing in self-pity. Until he gets drunk with his adorable, awkward co-worker at the office Christmas party and somehow finds himself with Christmas plans for the first time in years. Callum is tired of his family setting him up with random strangers at Christmas, so when Henry offers to pretend to be his boyfriend for the holiday, it seems like he's found the perfect solution... until real feelings get mixed up into their fake relationship. Until After Christmas is a standalone 20K word MM romance. This novella is unchanged from the version that was previously published in Stocking An MM Holiday Anthology.

(They/She) Alie writes sweet and steamy MM/queer romance, and believes the world needs more happily ever afters. When she’s not writing, she’s probably crocheting, watching sports, getting overly competitive about something, or thinking about aquatic animals.

This story had the makings of a really fun Christmas read. Unfortunately, it was lacking depth and weight. I know it’s a romance but I want my characters to have a reason to care for each other. It felt like it needed to be filled in and given a lot more character building, you know, those moments that take a book from meh to a really great or even rock solid good. I needed more.

Family... whether by blood or choice, it is what makes the world go round!

I was so glad to see Henry get the family that he so desperately needed... and, Callum, of course... he was just too adorable for words!

Okay - this is just the sweetest romantic story - a fake boyfriend, with hidden crushes come to light!

Gallium shy & harbouring a crush for years for his cube mate. He shy and Office party - so true loose lips sinus ships. A drunk night offers a proposal for Christmas fake boyfriend. Henry loss of his family leaves him alone for Holiday - I mean no one wants to be the fifth wheel. Having been abandon to trust another had to be impossible to risk. Family dynamics & Holiday is just the best. M/M romance V0S2 more book reviews - stop over @my2centsbooklover Thanks!

Short but sweet

Henry doesn't like Xmas because it is when his family disowned him, but he's lonely. Callum is shy and fed up of his family trying to set him up. Perfect fake boyfriend situation

2.5 stars. I didn't like it as much as I hoped, it was a bit too cliché rom-com for me .

Henry and Callum were adorable in this short Christmas novella. Both men are co-workers and are cubicle mates. Callum is shy and quiet while Henry isn't. Henry hates Christmas and usually spends his holiday getting drunk and binging Netflix. Callum always dreads Christmas with his family because they're loving and supportive but always set him up with someone. They care and just want him to be happy so Callum decides that this Christmas, he'll bring home a fake boyfriend. Henry agrees to be his fake boyfriend after a drunk Christmas work party and gets to experience a proper Christmas for the first time. They pretend just fine until real feelings get in the way and Henry feels guilty about lying to Callum's warm and welcoming family. I loved how Callum's older brother was able to get both men in gear and confessing their true feelings. Sometimes a brotherly nudge is needed for a HEA :) Sweet and lovely read with a fake boyfriends trope for Christmas :)

Super short quick read that I guess was entertaining (since I finished it). The reason I gave it only 3 stars is because there was absolutely nothing new in this story... but the main reason is because there's absolutely no way these 2 men who worked in cubicles next to each other for a couple of hears, and had an attraction to each other, didn't speak to each other. No way. Wouldn't happen. I can suspend belief for some things, but not for this.
