REVIEW: Not a bad high-level overview of minimalism, but it needed more oooomph. More specifics, more personal anecdotes, and some photos or illustrations would've been nice, too.
VERDICT: ~ 2 stars. In a sea of books on simplifying your home/mind, this one is not bad. Neither does it stand out as much as it could've.
Good ideas and strategies to stream-line your home and life
So as much as I might want to have a Zero-Clutter Home I realize that it will never be for me. But that has nothing to do with this book. I just love my things around me as they have meaning and memories to me, bring smiles to my face and make me feel cozy. But there are some nice points in this book that helped me stream-line some things and my way of thinking about organizing some areas of the house. There is actually a lot of information so it takes more than one read through to really digest everything. I would suggest this book to anyone that wants to try and stream-line their home and life, whether you live by yourself or with a large family that you need to organize better.

This book is helpful to create an organized approach to removing the clutter from your home. However, I think 30 days is not long enough! The most difficulty is found in removing things that are perceived as sentimental. There is some advice for this which is helpful. Overall a good book to get started on the process of removing clutter!

This book was very simple - which inspired me to think that yeah, decluttering actually isn't that complicated its just a matter of doing it and understanding WHY I want to do it! I liked how Lilly connected the physical environment with the internal, emotional environment. Thanks for the nudge - I'm off to do some decluttering now!

Maybe it's just that I've been "decluttering & organizing" for probably longer than the author's been alive, but I really didn't learn anything new. She does have some good ideas, but so do many other people, some of whom are better able to project those ideas to the masses. Good first read about the subject, but not recommended for anyone who has been at this for awhile.

A must-read before individuals of any age; encourages a clean mindset in terms of consuming and using only what’s needed while emphasizing that one should enjoy one’s few favorite items to the utmost. If you’re moving, redecorating, or renting out your space to others this book will prove not only useful but also invigorating in terms of generating enthusiasm to get started and tidy up.
Very informative. Really got some areas declutterred and very happy with it. Some things were very sentimental yet needed to be given to those who would be using them. This decluttering will be an ongoing practice since you always buy new things and need to part with something else to put in that spot. Great job in sharing your knowledge Lilly.
Nice printable checklist is provided as bonus. Simple, to the point steps to help clear clutter. Timeline is doable. If you miss a step concentrate on it next week.
