While we may not all be the president of an organization, the CEO of a company, or the principal of a school, most of us are leaders at some point in our lives. Ultimately, effective leadership is based on four traits—Confidence, Authenticity, Responsibility, and Empathy. These traits, along with the understanding of the emotions that drive us all, can be used to navigate through communications and relationships, both professionally and personally. This book serves as a tool to connect with others and learn to lead with Confidence, Authenticity, Responsibility, and Empathy. It also serves as a reminder to C.A.R.E.

I never considered my "R" in this light!

Throughout my entire adult life I have been applauded for being responsible. It shows up on Strengthsfinders, in my core values assessments , and as a key description in my DISC narrative. I get it. I'm responsible. I'm dependable. I'm boring. Teresa's book is helping me reconsider this characteristic of mine through a new perspective and as a leadership skill. It's time to embrace my R and recognize it for the leadership skill it is!

The author incorporates her law enforcement career, business acumen and global leadership experience into an effective, easy to implement model. Her real life examples are memorable and inspiring. I read this book on a weekend that intersected with the pandemic, phased reopening of businesses, economic turmoil, media bias, protests and riots as well as the successful launch of SpaceX. It was a timely read and provided a framework with a slightly different lens. I enjoyed it!

Outstanding read and unique process for leading others by effectively leading yourself. Understanding how Fear and Greed drive decision making is core to this book and Meares relatable life stories make it even more accessible.

Great book for anyone that is wanting to grow in their workplace! Also love the way she relates this to her life. Great book and I highly recommend it.
