I devoured this series. As a Pagan myself, I appreciated the treatment of belief. As a reader, I am deeply impressed by the characters. I was also pleased by the accuracy of the military references, and the fact that the author found sex itself unnecessary. Truly well done.
The series was truly all that, a bag of chips and twelve Snapples to go. What a ride and rush it has been. The only disappointment was that as all good things, it sadly has come to an end. A gripping and entertaining read, enjoy it. I sure did!
So here I am at the end of the 10th book. If you called my last review at the end of the first book you'll note that I had no idea how the Norse mythology was playing a part in this. I am happy to report that I was pleasantly surprised and completely overwhelmed by the breadth and depth of the plot development in the way that the author intertwined both zombie apocalypse aspects and the North mythology. It's an unbelievable achievement. It rivals the Omega day series by John Campbell. I'm happy that I stuck in there and I'm sad to see it end. Bravo
Usually you don’t want a story to end when you become one with the characters -when you love, cry, scream, hate you know it’s a great story but this tale was woven so well the truly unbelievable became possible because the good guy threw everything he believed in into everything he did and at the end he lived in the hearts and minds of his kindred excellence is when the story is over and you are satisfied with the results
This series was definitely a surprise. I had read most of the other supernatural creature books by this author and came across the character of Wylie Grant in the latest Lakeview Man story. After realizing he had his own book series, I read this saga and it is awesome. At first I thought it was The Walking Dead 2.0 but it turned into so much more! Epic! I would definitely recommend this as a 'binge' read of all ten books.
I’ve never enjoyed and been disappointed in series as much as this one. I felt so sorry for Chrissy seeming to go on and face hardship, pain and time alone. I wish Wylie would have been single and he and Chrissy could have had a child to carry on their legacy. The story would have been much better without Karen, who added nothing to the story besides holding a better story back.

This tale will be remembered in the Halls of Valhalla!
Started reading this book on a whim . Ended up turning into one of the best stories I have every read ! A great story ask a great read . Highly recommend for anyone that’s likes zombies , legends , and non stop action !! Well done D.A.Roberts ! Well done!
On par with Steven King's "The Stand" or The Legend of King Author. A page turner that holds your attention and keeps you enthralled at Wylie's next overwhelming challenge. The Norse God's involvement in Wylie's religion and beliefs keep you entertained throughout. Lengthy but well worth the time.
I enjoyed this entire series. It is so much more than zombies. The characters are so well developed, and I mourned for each loss. The plot twists are fantastic, and I love how each book surges forward into the future of our world after its falling. If I could give it more than 5 stars, I would.
The only saving grace is this book that got it a five star rating was the epilogue otherwise I would’ve given it a three or two for the repetitive nature. I will say that any human would wish to strive to be as heroic in the end.
Liked the book series! Everyday I had to read them. Totally hooked. D.A. Roberts is a search master with so many interesting told legends. So happy I came across this! Items call is a must read series also
I read all of these in just a few days, the heroes grab you and the stories hold you. This epic will affect you and I am not ashamed that the ending had me in tears! What an author!!!
Such an awesome series. Wylie Grant is a wonderful character and truly great hero. May he live in Valhalla forever. Heroes like him are never forgotten and their story live forever. Bravo to D A Roberts for such a great series.
Well written. The story comes to its conclusion but, there is enough story left to be told of the survivors and the land they now dwell in "The Wastelands of Ragnerok!"
I enjoyed this book in a way words cannot describe. Read the entire series. It changes and morphs in ways that will leave you thinking. Enjoy my friends.
The story kept me engaged as I came to know each character, following their plight it gave me pause as i realized how close our world is to a similar end
This series was a fantastic, mesmerizing, addictive read. It should be made into a TV series. It would capture viewing audiences around the world like Walking Dead.
