A venture capitalist tumbles off a balcony during a biotechnology conference in Boston and reporter Addy McNeil gets a chance to regain her foundering career when the only suspect in the murder is her ex-boyfriend. Can she pull herself together and secure the exclusive? And is she a match for a man who needs her good will to prove his innocence.

As Addy dives into the heady world of Boston's emerging biotechnology industry of the early 1990s, she finds plenty of motive for murder as well as some truths she'd rather not know.

Liked the main character, Addy McNeil, former star investigative reporter and recovering drug addict.

I liked the 1990's "old school" newspaper milieu; no cellphones (fax machines).

However, the plot was just too predictable.

Nevertheless, I will try another one in the series.

I really liked this story about a news reporter Addy McNeil. gritty and intriguing, two stories intertwined. Personal story which conflicts with her professional job. I recommend this read

I nearly quit reading this book in the beginning. However, I decided to read some more hoping that the book would get better. Well, the first book in this series about a Boston newspaper reporter got better and better. There are a total of four books about Addy McNeil as of 2008.
