Taylor Neeran, Star-Killer.

That’s what she was being called throughout the Xathen dominion. Turn the minor star of the Franath binary system into a black hole, and they gave her that title. She was famous, infamous, whatever. It’s not like it was a handful of stars, one star wasn’t that many, the galaxy has billions of them. But sometimes it was the small actions that got the most attention. One star to save a hundred unsuspecting worlds and a trillion lives, in some ways it was more than a fair trade.

It wasn’t her fault the minor sun had failed to complete its transformation into a black hole. Instead, it had become a neutron star, a pulsar , spraying death across the Franath system.

Franath was now spoken in whispers or not at all, as if the word itself was cursed.

But she was going to fix it.

In order to save eight billion souls, Taylor Neeran, Star-Killer and Spirit-Mother of Aeden was going to tame a star.

Or die trying.

Of course, not actually die, that would help nobody. But she was going to try really, really hard…

James Jacob (J J) Mathews grew up with his nose stuck in books. A voracious reader in his youth, he devoured all of the science fiction and fantasy books he could find at the local library. J.R.R. Tolkien, Isaac Asimov, Ben Bova, Frank Herbert, Larry Niven, Voltaire, H. G. Wells and Greg Bear were some of his early influences, with many other authors added to his bookshelf as time went on. Broadening out to read more genres as an adult, he has always held a special place for fantasy and sci-fi.

Originally from Canada, he currently lives in Hamilton, New Zealand with his wife and three boys, and writes in his spare time.

Gripping tale with a foreshadowing title!
If you don’t know the Greek mythical story about the boy named Icarus who flew too close to the sun with waxen wings, you should look it up before reading this novel. Suns can be harbingers of death. In Taylor Neeran’s case, we have an unintentional accident with a sun/star, labyrinthine politics and warfare. You’ll be keeping your fingers crossed throughout these adventures that Taylor doesn’t meet the same fate as Icarus! I’ve read all the books in this series and I recommend that each one is read in order. You’ll enjoy seeing how Taylor grows into her multiple destinies, sometimes with an embrace and sometimes with great reluctance. I was fortunate to receive an ARC and am pleased to leave a very honest review. Note: This author is quite the mythical storyteller himself….

A slow building but very intricate read. All the characters have depth and a life of their own, and the story has so much detail it seems like you're there. But, it does make for a long read. An interesting read, nevertheless while part of a series, the book can be read by it self, and you won't be too lost, it's a true work of art.

The story itself is science fiction based on reality, the Earth that we know with space travel. With a few interesting differences that I won't give away here. Make sure to pick this one up to find out what they are!

Even better

I just love this series, it just keeps getting better! Taylor once again gets things wrong & then tries to fix the problem. She has to learn the hard way that actions have consequences, one of lifes most difficult aspects. All she wants is to enjoy life with her family, then Kayleth turns up. How do you win against someone with six hundred years experience? Only time will tell.

Fast paced action and excitement in book 4

This 4th installment of Taylor Neeran Chronicles I found myself hanging on edge of seat wandering if it will have a chance to even come to a hea conclusion. One thing after another happens to poor Taylor based on her previous actions the consequences are harsh and at times seemed unforgiving! Excellent story can’t wait to read the next installment of the Taylor Neeran Chronicles!!
