Tarex of Axxeon was supposed to find his people a new planet. Instead, he ended up the plaything of an insane master.
Since crash landing with his crew and being sold to a master on the ghost planet, Hanasha-Yupa, one thought keeps Tarex fighting: freedom. He’s been forced to do things that haunt him. He needs to escape now, before his captors change his brain and make him one of them. Forever.
He’s close to busting out when they throw the human female at his feet and demand that he do one more horrible thing.
Blume Montgomery didn’t excel in advanced combat training in the U.S. Army for nothing. After months of bouncing around in the cargo hold of a scavenger’s ship, she’s ready to kick some alien ass.
She’s dropped at the feet of an Axxeon who looks one step away from tearing anything he can reach limb from limb.
She sees the warrior in his eyes, the man he was before this place. Can she tap into it before it’s too late? Or will one of them come completely unleashed before they realize what fate has brought them together to do?
Taken by the Axxeon is the fourth book in the Mates for Axxeon 9 series, which can be read in any order.
I enjoyed the excitement of the story and the way the characters were damaged yet still heroic. I've read a few of the books in this series and each time I do, I think it's the best one, lol. So this is the same. I did find that sometimes the text dragged in places with overly described details, but overall the plot was tight and fast-moving. Bloom is tough and brave and she deserves her HEA too!
I listened to this audiobook and thought the narrator did a fine job!
While the writing in this novella wasn’t unique, it was solid. The story itself was adventurous enough to hold my interest beginning to epilogue. MCs end up saving each other on more than one occasion, thought not without injuries on both sides, and that was a sweet dynamic to witness.
The Axxeon race is perhaps a bit too into self flagellation and brooding for my tastes, and I was starting to get a bit irritated with the “it’s all my fault” rhetoric going around. At points it felt less like martyrs and more like tweenagers rolling in self loathing.
I accidentally started at the end of the series, and may or may not go back and listen to the rest.
Find your circle This book starts out full tilt exciting and never slows down until the very end. The author kept her characters hoping as the danger continues to build and the relationship between this couple grows. I love how the female lead is such a strong character and the author paired her with an equally strong male with a deep sense of honor and a high capacity for love. I read this book out of sequence with the rest of the series, but I wasn’t confused by the little bits of background that I was missing. The author really did a wonderful job of making this book sturdy enough to stand alone. I look forward to reading many more of her books.
I loved this story it was really a shot to the heart, over coming obstacles so numerous and insurmountable, the two of them, strong individuals, coming together to save all the women and other aliens that were enslaved on that planet .Tarex was an honourable, strong and loving male, with a severe case of ptsd, trying to get through everything the Mother made him do., I was happy that Blume and Tarex loved each other, the story was so well written, really loved this author, she turned this story and made it real. Looking forward to new story's with aliens and human women!!Love alien, fantasy, science fiction, paranormal books!
I’m loving this series and Blume is a kick ass sassy woman who was in the army until she was kidnapped by aliens and thrown into a cage with another alien. Tarex is a pilot who is sent on a scouting mission but he is captured, Tarex is under Mother’s control and for years he has had to do despicable things now a beautiful human female is thrown into his cage and he’s told to do despicable things to her but Tarex has to get out and take this human female with him. Fantastic story I enjoyed this story so much that I bought a copy and I highly recommend this book.
We met Blume in the previous story, as a result we come in to this story with some idea of how strong, determined, and self-reliant this woman is. Here, as she encounters fellow captive Terax, we get a fresh appreciation for how liyal, and fiercely compassionate she can be as well.
Two people, with a common enemy, and a similar determination not only to be free, but to free all those in captivity with them make for a powerful done in one quick read.
The fourth book in the Mates for Axxeon 9 series a well written short story that kept me turning pages. Tarex of Axxeon and Human Blume Montgomery's story there is suspense, drama, danger, an evil MOTHER, vile beezerkat, war, and romance. I want to read more in this series. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Well this is the last book in the series. I, for one, am going to be sad that there's not to be more of these Aliens. The main characters got their mates but I'm sure there's more Safe One that could use one. I hope everyone enjoys this series as much as I did.
I am reviewing this book though I have read all 4 books. The world building of these 4 books is amazing and each book has intrigue, action and of course romance. I enjoyed each one and equally.
Tarex is almost recovered from mothers electrical punishment when a tiny human woman is brought on by a guard. Blume disables the guard and Tarex is relegated as her new keeper. Then it gets more exciting and insane.
